The factor of failure in Arabic language learning in Indonesia is the lack of activities in language learning. One of language learning activities is identifying meaning or word meaning and phrase in dictionary. However, word and phrase index developed based on teaching materials at madrasah non-pesantren was not developed yet. Therefore, Research and Development is needed to apply. After having collected the word and phrase index that were collected from teaching materials of Arabic language at MI non-pesantren in Indonesia, then it was tested at MIN Malang. The result showed that: there was a development in Arabic language learning through word and phrase index; that was students’ competence to identify meaning and collaboration in understanding text and context in a sentence. After having applied the experiment, students’ average score increased from 52 with 19 failed students to 81,26 with 5 failed students.

This study aimed to develop speaking skills teaching materials for anthropology-based tourism in the Arabic Language and Literature Department, Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University Malang; This study used Research and Development adapted from the Borg and Gall development model. The data were collected using the following instruments: interviews, participatory observation, questionnaires, and tests. The techniques of data analysis included qualitative and statistical descriptive.  The results of this study were the availability of speaking skills teaching materials developed for anthropology based tourism in the Arabic Language and Literature Department, Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University Malang in the form of a textbook, entitled: “Al Arabiyyah li As Siyaahah: Ta`lim Maharah Al Kalam li As Siyaahah ála Asas Antropologi.” This textbook consists of 3 main sections: introduction, learning materials, and closing; As for the opinion of students, this product is good because it can contribute to increasing student enthusiasm and learning outcomes; and the T-test with SPSS shows that the average score of students on the posttest was higher than the pretest and statistically shows a significant increase.

This study is designed to present a web 2.0 application that provides multimedia and animated video known as GoAnimate.Com which has been used as a learning activity tool directly in Arabic teaching and learning (T&L) process. This activity was implemented in the class whereby the students were actively involved as practitioners and the teachers played the role as facilitators. The guidance to use GoAnimate.Com was explained to students by teachers before dividing them into groups. Each group were asked to prepare an animated video containing simple Arabic conversation using GoAnimate.Com application. Quantitative method was utilized  to make this study successful by using the instrument of questioners prepared to identify students’ perception towards GoAnimate.Com application and their preference of using this application in Arabic T&L at  University Malaysia Kelantan (UMK). The result of this study has indicated  that student’s perception towards GoAnimate.Com application in learning Arabic is high with the overall mean score of 4.05. This study has shown  that the usage of GoAnimate.Com can increase students’ engagement and involvement in learning Arabic. Nevertheless, it is hoped that the outcome  of this study  can provide an alternative approach and various strategies in Arabic T&L towards Education 4.0 in the Forth Industrial Revolution era (IR4.0).

Abstract: Word cards are unique, captivating, and specific learning media. In this research, Arabic word cards are used to improve students’ vocabulary mastery in learning Arabic. This research is aimed to (1) develop Arabic word cards and the learning activities for grade III students of Madrasah Aliyah; (2) identify the effectiveness of using Arabic word cards and the learning activities. The method of this research is Research and Development. The data sources include a subject expert, a media expert, a learning expert, a teacher, and students. The data are collected using questionnaires. The word cards are made in two forms, namely mind map, and word-by-word. The Arabic word cards are equipped with Arabic learning activities. Overall, the result of the development and the research shows that the average score is 89% in the valid category with details as follows: subject expert 91.7%, media expert 68.2%, learning expert 92.5%, teacher’s assessment 100%, and students’ assessment 92.8%. Therefore, it can be concluded that Arabic word cards and the learning activities are effective to be used in learning Arabic for grade III students of Madrasah Aliyah. Keywords: development, word cards, Arabic Abstrak: Kartu kata merupakan salah satu media pembelajaran yang unik, memukau, dan spesifik. Dalam penelitian ini, kartu kata berbahasa Arab digunakan untuk meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata siswa dalam mempelajari bahasa Arab. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Mengembangkan kartu kata berbahasa Arab dan kegiatan pembelajarannya untuk siswa kelas III Madrasah Aliyah; (2) Mendeskripsikan kelayakan pemanfaatan kartu kata berbahasa Arab dan kegiatan pembelajarannya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and Development. Sumber data ini adalah ahli materi, ahli media, ahli pembelajaran, guru, dan siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket. Pengembangan media ini berupa media kartu kata berbahasa Arab yang memiliki 2 bentuk yaitu bentuk peta konsep dan tampilan perkata. Media kartu kata berbahasa Arab dilengkapi dengan kegiatan pembelajaran bahasa Arab. Secara keseluruhan hasil pengembangan dan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata sebesar 89% dalam kategori valid dengan rincian: uji ahli materi 91,7%, uji ahli media 68,2%, uji ahli pembelajaran 92,5%, penilaian guru 100%, dan penilaian siswa 92,8%. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media kartu kata berbahasa Arab dan kegiatan pembelajaran yang dikembangkan ini layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab kelas III di Madrasah Aliyah. The purpose of this research is to develop humanism-based Arabic language teaching materials, which are the vision and mission of the Wonosobo Al-Qur'an Science University. This textbook will be used to enhance the sense of humanism in UNSIQ students. The method in this study is Research and Development (R&D), which is by developing Arabic language teaching materials based on humanism, which form the basis of vision in UNSIQ universities. This teaching material is not just a textbook but by using the humanism approach that has been implemented at the university. This research step consists of: (1) proposing information, (2) conducting design, (3) developing original product forms, (4) conducting limited trials, (5) conducting revisions, (6) conducting field trials, (7) ) make revisions. Textbooks developed were validated by experts and students during the trial. The subjects of this research trial were PAI students in class A and PAI class B in semester 4 of the Tarbiyah and Teaching Faculty of UNSIQ, Central Java in Wonosobo. Limited trials were conducted on 14 students. Field trials were conducted on two classes consisting of 30 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class. Data was collected using validation sheets, observation sheets, and assessment sheets.The results of this research and development are. (1) The model of teaching material developed is Arabic teaching material based on humanism, which is used as the vision of the Al-Qur'an Science University (UNSIQ). Textbooks that are developed are in accordance with established criteria. The assessment of teaching materials and tools from all aspects falls into the "very goodcategory." (2) after using teaching materials that are developed on the basis of humanism, it enhances student's living values compared to before using textbook development materials.

This research categorized as Research and Devenlopment (R&D) that aims to (1) describe and identify the design process and the feasibility of learning materials of Bali based on Balinese culture, (2) to describe and analyze the responses of VII grade students of SMP PGRI 3 Denpasar towards the development of Indonesian language based materials of local culture Bali. The data obtained through observation, interview, and questionnaire methods. Furthermore, the collected then analyzed by qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the development of Indonesian language learning materials based on local Balinese culture included into very well category. It was based on the validation results by the subject matter expert who gave an assessment with an average score of 88.42. The results of the pilot test, both initial field trials and major field trials also showed an average score of 90.28 and 92.50 included in the excellent category. Moreover, a good response is also obtained in this study, the overall average score given by students as users of teaching materials is 4.45 included very positive category. Thus, it can be concluded that the developed teaching materials are feasible to be used in the learning process.

Islamic boarding schools are Islamic educational institutions that focus on moral education. Islamic boarding schools at this time were divided into ancestor and modern boarding schools. There are differences in the curriculum and learning models of Arabic in the two pesantren. Salaf Islamic boarding schools have a special curriculum in understanding the understanding of Islam. Learning Arabic in the Salaf Islamic boarding school is oriented towards grammatical learning by memorizing the terms nahwu and shorof and memorizing nadhom. While the Arabic language learning curriculum in modern pesantren aims not only for religious scholarship, but aims to use all language skills in communication. This Islamic boarding schools believes that language learning activities must provide students the ability to communicate correctly, both in oral and written form.

This study aimed at developing a science-based Arabic language learning media based on Android mobile. The research method used was Research and Development. Validators included material and media experts, and practitioners. The testing phase included: limited phase I, II, and field trials. The subjects of the trial were students of the Department of Tadris IPA IAIN Salatiga. The data were obtained from documentation, questionnaire, and interviews. The results of the study were in the form of android-based software called “Bahasa Arab 1” with the validity score of 4.26 (very good); and practicality of 4.25 (very good). The results of the assessment through the limited phase I, II, and field trial stages are 4.30 (very good); 4,41 (very good); and 4.44 (very good). The characteristics and advantages of the product are:  ability to be downloaded through google play store; ability to run offline; available learning objectives, training materials and evaluation of competency tests interactively.

Online game is suggested as a medium that can encourage learners' acquisition of Arabic vocabulary. This research aimed to find out the learners’ vocabulary achievement before applying online game to the learners and to describe the usage of online game in improving learners’ vocabulary achievement effectively. This research used Classroom Action Research. There were 30 learners involved. Teaching processes consisted of two-cycle. Interviews, observation, tests, and documentation were the instruments of this research. The results of the tests were analyzed by using SPSS 20; the results of the interview and observation were analyzed qualitatively. The author found that online game improves learners’ vocabulary. The average score in cycle I was better than the average score in cycle II. The Pretest results in cycle I showed the greatest score obtained by the learners was 76. While in the Post test of the cycle I, the greatest score obtained by the learner was 90. Whereas in cycle II, the greatest score obtained by the learners was 100. Based on the observation, the learners were more excited on studying and focus on finishing their task; the learners could understand well the subject was given, and the learners were more enthusiastic in memorizing vocabulary. The author had successfully provided a new experience for learners who always learn conventionally by involving into the appealing and interactive online game-based learning atmosphere. The author hoped this research could be guidance for the effectuality of the next Arabic language learning through the online game in the class.

The objectives of this study are: to develop Android-based learning media for reading skills, to measure the validity of the media by giving questionnaires to experts and to students to find out student responses. The objectives of this study are: 1. to find out the steps for developing android-based learning media for android-based reading skills, 2. To find out student responses about android-based learning media that have been developed. This research is research and development. By adapting the development steps known as ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and evaluation).  Researchers will develop an Android-based reading skill learning media which is then validated by several experts, such as Arabic language experts, material experts, media experts and Arabic language learning practitioners. And then research subjects are 8 students. The data collection techniques use: observation, interviews and questionnaires. The results of this study are: 1. Application of Android-based learning media to read Arabic for students of UPB UIN ANTASARI Banjarmasin, using steps known as ADDIE. 2. By using a range of 1-5 validation of learning media in terms of language with an average score of 4.5 (very good), validation of learning media in terms of material with an average score of 4.4, validation of learning media in terms of media with a score an average of 4.5 (very good) validation of learning media from learning practitioners with an average score of 4.4 (very good). With a student response with an average score of 4.4 (very good). So with the results of this study, it can be concluded that the Android-based learning media for learning reading skills is appropriate to be used as a medium for learning reading skills.

 Arabic is the second language studied by many madrasas and pesantren in Indonesia. It is important to continue to improve the quality of Arabic language learning by evaluating all learning activities. One of them is evaluation of assessment instruments. The research instrument is a tool used to obtain data about the process and learning outcomes of students which are carried out systematically and continuously so that it becomes meaningful information in decision making. In education, there are many forms of assessment instruments that can be used to measure and assess the learning process and outcomes that have been carried out. Mufrodate learning as the object of study in this study also uses various forms of assessment instruments. In the seventh grade Arabic book published by the Ministry of Religion in 2014, we can find the forms of assessment instruments for mufradât mastery. One of them is a similar instrument that has been developed in a study such as a picture instrument (card). Other forms such as description instruments, multiple choice, wording, matchmaking and so on are popular instruments that are also used in this book.
