Development and application of optimization models in the production capacity management strategy

Subject. The article addresses elaboration of methods for strategic management of production capacities to bring them to practical use at the level of individual industrial enterprises. Objectives. The purpose of the study is to develop optimization models to manage production capacities of industrial enterprises at the strategic level. The models are focused on bringing enterprise structure to the optimal condition in terms of output of products that are in demand in the market. Methods. The study employs methods of analysis and synthesis, principles of consistency and complexity, theory of graphs, matrix calculus. Results. To develop existing approaches to the strategic management of production capacities, I offer a multicriteria optimization model, structurally consisting of several mathematical programming problems. Conclusions. If used, the optimization models for the development of a production capacity management strategy will enable modern Russian enterprises to significantly increase their competitiveness and operational efficiency, since the level of production capacity affects the positioning of an enterprise in the market, its cost structure, etc.

Subject. The article addresses the development of a methodology for seeking reserves to increase production capacity through the enhanced balance of production system and bringing the latter to practical use at iron and steel enterprises. Objectives. The purpose is to design a methodology to search for reserves to enhance production capacity of industrial enterprises at the strategic level, using the graph-matrix models of integrated steel works. Methods. The study draws on methods of analysis and synthesis, principles of consistency and complexity, the graph theory, and matrix calculus. Results. The paper offers a method for assessing and analyzing reserves to increase production capacity through enhancing the balance of the production system. Conclusions. If used, the presented approach will help improve the quality of strategic management of production facilities in the iron and steel industry, and, as a result, the profitability and competitiveness of ironworks.

The aim of the article is to substantiate theoretical and methodic approaches to comprehension of the role and importance of the strategy of customer service of an industrial enterprise in terms of achievement of its sustainable competitive advantages. The article is devoted to the study and actualization of the strategy of customer service of an industrial enterprise in the context of implementation of the strategic management concept. Solution of the tasks, outlined in the article, is secured by general scientific and specific methods of research, i.e. analysis and synthesis, systematization and generalization.The work has actualized the strategy of customer service of an industrial enterprise in the contexts of implementation of the strategic management concept. The research identifies barriers on the way of the market entry, which are set by producers with a high level of customer service. The main barriers include the used schemes of payment, imposing heavy dependence between a customer and a supplier, as well as arrangement of a broad chain of servicing establishments, which are located at the places of customers’ employment, completion of contracts on continuous supply services, creation of the image of competence concerning services supply. The article examines the features, characterizing customer service of high quality, and identifies relationship between the strategy of competitive advantages of an enterprise and the strategy of customer service.The article supplies argumentation that servicing has become an accelerator of partnership relations setting between a customer and a supplier, as well as of achievement of a high level of customers’ loyalty. Shaping of the policy of customer service is an important direction to reach a competitive advantage of an industrial enterprise. The work proposes measures to motivate employees to supply customer service of the appropriate quality, which will secure establishment and support of the corporative culture, focused on the company’s clients. The principal scientific fundamentals of the article can be applied in the practical operation of industrial enterprises.

This article shows systematization of the adaptive strategic management principles, the connection among essential elements of enterprise management’s adaptive approach. A great place in the article is taken to possible approaches and methods of adaptive enterprise management in terms of crisis, due to which changes in the internal and external environment are seen, which can be both expected and random and make current operational decisions that contribute to the achievement of before made goals, based on the correction of certain tasks. The systematic approach to assessing the adaptation of industrial enterprises of small and medium-sized businesses to crisis conditions is investigated. The necessity of adapting enterprises of "small forms" of all sectors to the external environment to solve the strategic tasks of the country's economy as a whole, which must go through the reform stage and become a powerful lever to support and help large industrial enterprises, is substantiated.

The object of this study is the further development of eco-innovations for the rise of industry and the economy. Emphasis is placed on the growing relevance of "green" incentives in line with climate challenges, the economical use of natural resources, as well as the need for a systematic vision of environmental issues and the implementation of international requirements. The study is based on the work of foreign scientists, international rankings and world best practices for the introduction of modern economic mechanisms of state incentives for greening the economy, green modernization, the transition to a circular model of the economy. There is a difference in the implementation of environmental policy - some local projects in Ukraine and the European approach - with the assessment of eco-innovation, systemic change, the formation of ecosystems, scaling technological solutions. The main methods used in the study are: methods of system-structural analysis, analysis and synthesis, grouping - for preliminary analysis and selection of appropriate tools in the study of the implementation of eco-innovation in Ukraine and EU countries; index valuation method and method of comparative analysis - used in the analysis of public policy to stimulate the company to "green" growth; abstract-logical method - used to establish the relationship between the need to introduce new instruments of public policy in the environmental sphere with elements of large-scale reform in the context of climate modernization of industry and to form a systematic vision of major achievements in implementing international requirements for eco-modernization of industrial enterprises. The paper analyzes the forms of international assistance that can compensate for the lack of available financial resources for the purposes of green modernization of the economy in conditions of limited financial capabilities of the state, intensification of competition for European and international environmental investments. The obtained result - a set of possible tools to stimulate Ukrainian industry - allows more systematic implementation of "greening" of Ukrainian industry, and their implementation and combination in a specific mechanism will determine the success of an industrial socially-oriented economy.

Subject. The article investigates the essence and salient features within the study of the industrial complex and integrated industrial structure categories. Objectives. The purpose is to research and develop definitions, study approaches to the industrial complex category, and underpin my unique interpretation. Methods. The study applies methods of analysis and synthesis, the systematization, formalization, and comparative analysis approach. Theoretical and methodological provisions contained in the works on industry development by domestic and foreign scientists, and legal documents, serve as the basis of the study. Results. I offer my interpretation of an industrial complex, as a challenging structure, represented by industrial enterprises and characterized by the stability of production cooperation chains, close interrelation of industry and regional specialization, providing for the digital transformation of industry, and subject to the environmental component. The paper identifies key properties of industrial complex, offers a classification by industry specifics, localization, diversification, and the level of State participation. Conclusions. The findings may be used as an element of theoretical basis to support management decisions on industrial complex development.

In modern conditions of increasing threats, challenges, dangers and threats of various types, it is necessary to create a system of innovative training of managers. The paper considers the formation of an innovation management strategy for education of managers on disaster risk reduction and the development of methodological support for this activity. In the course of work to achieve the goal, key tasks were solved: the organizational basis for the formation of an integrated education system was justified, proposals for creating an information and organizational learning innovation were developed, and the basis for a new unified innovative information and communication educational platform was created. Methodological recommendations for innovative training of managers are proposed. The research methodology provides for the creation of innovative and technological matrixes of Executive education based on modern methods of analysis and synthesis, expert assessments, modeling, analogies, and observation. The results of the research are the main provisions of the innovation management strategy for education of managers on disaster risk reduction, organizational and methodological support for this activity. On their basis, a comprehensive system of training managers has been created, and modern training programs and practices in the field of disaster management have been introduced. Recommendations for the consolidation of key modern achievements of science and technology in the educational sphere are formulated. The study may be of interest to state authorities in the formation and implementation of the state strategy of innovative management of education of managers, which provides a high modern level of training.

Industrial enterprises and other business entities whose activities involve direct or indirect impact on environmental components must comply with legal requirements in the field of environmental protection. Over the past 5 years, there have been significant changes in environmental legislation. All objects that have a negative impact on the environment are subject to state registration. When registering an enterprise, it is subject to assignment to one of four categories of objects of negative impact, depending on the industry affiliation, production capacity, chemical composition of emissions, discharges, and other criteria. Currently, legislative innovations are aimed at business development and reducing the administrative burden on business entities, but this creates a threat to the safe operation of industrial facilities. There are more than 340 thousand objects of negative impact on the territory of Russia, of which one third is subject to Federal supervision. According to 2019 data, less than 4% of enterprises had their operational safety audits performed. The detection of violations of the requirements of legislation in the field of environmental protection, as well as failure to eliminate the identified violations, indicates the formation of potential threats to environmental safety. Taking into account the current economic crisis, in which solving environmental problems will not be a priority for business structures, the protection of the population and the natural environment is fully transferred to the state level.

Purpose – to analyze strategic company management in the digital business environment. Design/Method/Approach. General scientific methods are applied: systematization, comparison, generalization, analysis, and synthesis. Findings. The essence of strategic management and its significance to a company has been analyzed. The relationship between strategic company management and digital business environment has been elucidated. Basic trends for doing business in the digital environment have been defined. Theoretical implications. Theoretical significance of the research is in the advancement of opinion on the strategic company management in digital business environment. Practical implications. The practical value of the research is in the possibility of applying the results obtained by both international and domestic companies for strategic management in the digital business environment that emerged as a result of the Fourth industrial revolution. Originality/Value. The main trends of modern business in the digital environment have been identified. The choice of strategies of multinational companies has been identified, as well as the areas of their application in digital business environment. Research limitations/Future research. The prospects for further research are to study the strategic management of international companies and analyze the impact of digital business environment on their development. The article gives reasons for the necessity of new approaches to the personnel management system, implemented with the help of corporate training in the context of the transition to a new stage of strategic management, from the «serf» to the «network» model of organization management. The article considers the process of corporate training, offers the concept of key competence as a system of two portfolios of the organization. The analysis of the needs for corporate training has been developed. New approaches to the selection, development, encouragement and evaluation of employees in connection with changes in strategic management have been formulated.
