Support breastfeeding in work place have positive impact on the working mothers and their children, we all know the benefits of breastfeeding and few changes and support to the working mothers will help breastfeeding to continue. Workplace programs could help women to continue to breastfeed, and some programs may help women to initiate breastfeeding. By promoting and supporting the programs, employers may be able to influence the duration of breastfeeding (including exclusive breastfeeding) and so improve the health of mother and baby, but also benefit from less work       absenteeism, high productivity and increased employee morale and retention.

Nevertheless, the practice of breastfeeding is currently declining throughout the world. OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study was to assess the prevalence of exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) practice and its associated factors among mothers living in Marrakesh province, Morocco. METHODS: The data were collected using an interviewer administered questionnaire. Both bivariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to identify factors associated with exclusive breastfeeding practice. RESULTS: Prevalence of exclusive breastfeeding was 50.2%. Mothers with age more than 30 years, residing in rural area, receiving counseling related breastfeeding during antenatal follow up and having knowledge about duration of breastfeeding were more likely to practice exclusive breastfeeding than their counterparts. CONCLUSION: Although the prevalence of breastfeeding in Marrakesh was higher than the last national survey report but it is still insufficient. These findings have to stress authorities and deciders to sensitize mothers and future mothers to increase exclusive breastfeeding practice notably through the involvement of health professionals.

The low coverage of breastfeeding is a threat to the growth and development of children. Some of the things that hinder exclusive breastfeeding include the low level of knowledge of mothers and families about the benefits of breastfeeding, and how to breastfeed properly. In addition, the lack of lactation counseling services and support from health workers, socio-cultural factors, the incessant marketing of formula milk, and factors of working mothers. Some things that can facilitate breastfeeding for working mothers are support from the office environment, support from superiors, coworkers, flexible work schedules, rest periods, positive work colleagues 'attitudes towards breastfeeding, working mothers' attitudes. While some things that can hinder breastfeeding are psychological stress caused by tight work time and discomfort at the time of breastfeeding. Lack of time and location of breastfeeding rooms is also recognized as one of the obstacles in breastfeeding during working hours. The counseling and assistance activities of exclusive breastfeeding are a real form of triad prevention that must be carried out by health workers, especially nurses at the community Health centers. Expressing milk is one of the solutions to keep breastfeeding at work. 5 facilities that can be provided by the workplace to keep breastfeeding, namely: a breast milk pump, a room for milking or a room for breastfeeding, rest periods for milking or for breastfeeding, there is a refrigerator for storing milk and there is support from the workplace. Mothers are committed to giving exclusive breastfeeding to their children, and for workplace institutions to provide opportunities for mothers who have children aged 0-6 months, continue to give their milk by relaxing time for the management of dairy milk.

Background: Breastfeeding is the unique source of nutrition and it plays an important role in the growth, development and survival of the infants. The initiation of breastfeeding within one hour and continuation of only breast milk up to six months ensure maximum benefits. The prevalence of exclusive breastfeeding in Bangladesh is 56% which is low. We designed this study to find out the factors influencing the duration of breastfeeding in Bangladeshi population. Objective: To study the factors influencing noncompliance to exclusive breastfeeding.Materials and Methods: This cross sectional study was conducted in Dhaka Shishu Hospital during the period January to June 2011. It includes 125 infant (1–12 months)-mother pairs randomly selected from the inpatient and outpatient departments of Dhaka Shishu Hospital. Mother-infant pairs were divided into two groups based on continuation of only breastfeeding up to six months. Outcomes were compared between two groups. Results: In this study exclusive breastfeeding was found in 27.2% and nonexclusive breastfeeding was in 72.8% cases. It was found that in most cases (40%) termination of breastfeeding was at 3--4 months. The study revealed that insufficient milk production due to poor position and attachment, social factors such as influence of husband and other family members, joining to service etc act as barrier to exclusive breastfeeding. Mass media and advice from health professionals had a higher influence on lower rate of exclusive breastfeeding. Women who were multiparous, housewives were more likely to maintain optimal breastfeeding. Conclusion: The present study reveals some important factors contributing to low rate of exclusive breastfeeding in Bangladesh.J Enam Med Col 2016; 6(2): 88-92
