The object of this article is professional activity of the British war correspondent Archibald Forbes during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871. The subject is the perception and reflection of military realities (1870-1871) by the novice journalist. The goal consists in determination of the mechanisms of perception of participants and realities of the Franco-Prussian confrontation of 1870-1871 by the British correspondent A. Forbes. Intellectual history and imagological approach comprise the methodological framework of this research. Based on the analysis of documentary evidence left by A. Forbes, which describes the events of 1870-1871, the author was able to trace the evolution of Forbes’ perception of the Franco-Prussian campaign of 1870-1871. The conclusion is made on gradual changes in Forbe’s perception and reflection of war realities. The initial admiration was replaced by the professional subject-object description. However, his stance on parties to the conflict remained unchanged. The author assumes that A. Forbes had particular personal attitudes, but his perception of the war of 1870-1871 has evolved. The acquired results may be valuable in studying journalistic practice, as well as mutual perception of European ethnoses. The scientific novelty lies in a comprehensive approach towards the phenomenon at hand: the author examines not only the mechanisms of perception as such, but also their transformation influenced by various factors. This research made a transition from the widespread study of biographies and activity of correspondents of the XIX century to an extensive culturological and intellectual approach in consideration of professional practice of journalists of the past.

Against the background of social changes in the last decade, the increasing priority of the role of a child in relation to the role of an adult, modern adolescents are faced with a choice of growing-up strategies, which is accompanied by an internal conflict of this process, a contradiction between the laws of development, including social and modern cultural imperatives. This urgent problem is in the focus of the presented research. The process of modern Russian adolescents growing-up in the context of their professional self-determination is analyzed. Professional self-determination is considered as a factor of positive growing-up acceptance due to certain value orientations. It is assumed that the choice of a future profession made by adolescents (i.e., their professional self-determination) increases their self-assessment of adulthood, and value orientations can act as its predictors as determining the meaning of growing up for them. The study involved 302 male teenagers aged 14-17 years, including: 148 cadets of the Suvorov School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and 154 students of secondary schools. The study used the questionnaire method, modified Dembo - Rubinstein Self-Assessment Methods and Schwartz Value Survey. Statistical processing was based on a comparative ( F -tests and the Mann -Whitney U test), variance ( F ), and regression ( B ) analyses. The results of the study show that the professional self-determination of adolescents increases their self-assessment of adulthood. The professional self-determination of adolescents is associated with the factor of primary professional socialization, namely, the conditions of the educational environment in which they grow up. The value orientations of adolescents are predictors of their self-assessment of adulthood, and are mediated by group, gender, and social stereotypes in the image of an adult and the role of an adult.

The relevance of the study is that the phenomenon of emotional intelligence at the modern stage of science development is already generally recognized among psychologists, sociologists, philosophers, etc. The whole scientific community today recognizes the need and importance of developing the characteristics and capabilities of emotional intelligence, as they contribute to the professional and personal growth of a person, influence his success in life. The problem of the study is the study of selfregulation as a multi-component system where emotional intelligence is of particular importance. This problem is reflected in the pedagogical sphere. The effectiveness of the professional activity of a specialist engaged in the field of «man-man» is largely conditioned by the ability to self-regulate and successfully develop the personal qualities necessary for the profession, because the teacher as a subject of pedagogical activity is a combination of individual, personal, subjective qualities, the adequacy of which the requirements of the profession ensure the efficiency of his work. The aim of the study is to determine the place of EQ in the system of self-regulation components as one of the personal qualities of the teacher, to identify the main provisions of EQ development and its impact on self-regulation. The main methods of study are theoretical analysis method and empirical methods (observation, testing). The result of the study can be considered the determination of the place of EQ in the system of self-regulation components as one of the personal qualities of the teacher, as well as the identification of the basic provisions of EQ development in the conditions of pedagogical activity. The development of emotional competence and emotional intelligence of the teacher is a necessary condition for the effectiveness of his professional activity, as EQ occupies a special place in the self-regulation of the teacher, which is due to the specificity of the content of professional activity.

The average length of service of the respondents was 10.5 years. According to age, the respondents were distributed as follows: 62.0% were people aged 20-29 years, approximately equal shares were people 30-39 years old (18.6%) and 40 years and older (19.4%). Also, the methodology used to diagnose the value orientations in the career was ''Career Anchors'' (the method of E. Shein in adaptation by V.A. Chiker and V.E. Vinokurov). The questionnaires contain certain points and clues, allowing one to evaluate, respectively, the nature of motivation and preferred orientations. The statistical processing of collected data was performed with the Microsoft Office 2016 programs: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel. Results. It was established that in the structure of motivation, 40.2% is an external positive motivation (positive incentives in the organization), 30.1% is an internal motivation (satisfaction with work and its results), 19.7% is an external negative motivation (punishment). The main value orientations in a career are as follows. In the first place - the integration of lifestyles (in 73.2% of cases, this orientation scored maximum points); on the second -stability of work (62.0%); in the third place - ministry (52.4%). The ratio of value orientations varies somewhat among people of different ages. Conclusion. The identified features of motivation and value orientations of nurses should be taken into account both as a whole (to develop a system of motivation in the organization) and personally, taking into account the individual characteristics of each employee. The study of motivation should be carried out by psychologists of medical organizations, and the results should be transmitted to managers to form a reasonable personnel policy.

The relevance and novelty of the work lies in the fact that now more and more often one can hear "mediation" and "mediator" from the mouths of lawyers, teachers, advocates, psychologists, but few people really understand the purpose of this term and the procedure itself. The purpose of this study is to shape an “image of a mediator” based on the analysis of motives and attitudes towards the choice of profession of per-sons that study and have already finished a training program for professional mediators. The article presents the following tasks: theoretical and analytical review of literary sources, and a sociological survey. The study shows the desire to learn to understand oneself and others, as well as attitude dynamics that determine the choice of professional activity, expressed in a change in value orientations during training as a professional mediator in an appropriate professional development program. The study found that mediators themselves do not pay due attention to such an important characteristic as competence, which can significantly affect the work of a mediator and the development of mediation. The survey participants were 25 female and male persons, of which 15 were women and 10 men, 25 to 50 years old, engaged in various activities, with different social status.
