The purpose of the paper is to study the issues of disclosure and interpretation in economic sciences and accounting of the essence of the concepts of "assets" and "capital", substantiation of their own judgments on these concepts. Research methodology – methods of description, comparison, formalization, abstraction, analysis and synthesis were used in the work. The meaning of the study is the expression of objects common for all economic sciences in different concepts and the assignment of different functions to them lead to discrepancies in the economic language, and, consequently, to a gap in the theory and methodology of forming and evaluating information about the same objects. Therefore, it is important to correctly disclose and formulate problematic issues that exist in the area under consideration. Research results can be used and applied to unify economic concepts, to better understand and evaluate information about the activities of institutional units. As a result of the study, it was revealed that in the accounting literature and regulatory documents, assets are defined and recognized only as a source of income or economic benefit, and the accounting and reporting methodology is based on the relevant definitions and recognition criteria. It is substantiated that when formulating the semantics of the concept of "assets" and recognizing objects in reporting as assets, it is necessary to take into account both their economic and social functions. Further development of the accounting methodology should proceed on the basis of this concept. Originality and scientific novelty of the research – an attempt is made to prove that in the accounting and reporting system, the concept of "Assets" should be accepted as content, and the concepts of "Capital" and "Liabilities" – as a form, that is, as ownership rights over assets under the control of companies.

The article substantiates that the main problem of modern universities is the search for effective methods and tools to present the results of their activities in the Internet space in order to attract more applicants and, in turn, increase the position in the rankings. The study found that an equally important component of the vast majority of rankings are research results, which are calculated as the number of scientific articles published in journals indexed in Scopus / Web of Science, as well as the h-index. A study of the positions of Ukrainian universities in international rankings showed that, despite significant advances in science, they can not get into such rankings. The study found that one of the reasons for this situation is the low level of transparency of both the research conducted at universities and the results of such research. To solve this problem, it is proposed to use scientific profiles of university staff, which contribute to the dissemination of information about scientific achievements, as they contain general information about authors that can be used for grants, participation in conferences, peer review, international rankings and others. The aim of the article is to manage the information reflected in the scientific profiles of researchers to increase the position of universities in international rankings using the results of its comparison with the information used to compile these rankings. The research methodology includes: methods of analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, method of comparing results. It is established that the main scientific profiles that universities can use to publish research results are: Author ID in Scopus, ResearcherID, ORCID, Google Scholar. Thus, the study found that the international rankings of universities, in addition to the information posted on their websites, also use the information contained in the scientific profiles of employees of these institutions. The lack of completed profiles of scientists leads to a decrease in the position of universities in international and domestic rankings.

This paper covers the approach taken by WRc to the practical application of research results. WRc works on an annual programme of research paid for collectively by the UK water utilities totalling ₤15m. In addition contract research is carried out for government largely on environmental matters and for utilities and others on a confidential basis. The approach to the implementation described here deals with the application of results across the whole of the United Kingdom where there are a large number of users of the results but with varying degrees of interest in any particular topic. The requirement is to inform all of the outcome of the work and then to provide the facility of rapid implementation for those who have an immediate requirement to apply the new knowledge and technology.

In Romania, large companies, most of which are multinationals, have made significant progress in integrating the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR) into their activity. The concept of CSR in small and medium-sized companies is still in the early stages of reporting, but with great development prospects. Romanian companies have gradually begun to develop their own culture in terms of social responsibility. The main objective of this article is to analyze how Romanian authors approach CSR theories in their research. The CSR action is seen by the authors as an interdependent relationship between corporations and society. Social requirements are generally considered to be a way in which society interacts with the business environment and gives it a certain legitimacy and prestige. Given that the history of the concept of CSR is long and diverse, I must emphasize that this article focuses on the publications of Romanian authors who based their work on a theory of CSR, providing an original perspective and understanding of the concept of CSR. The research methodology approached involves analysis and synthesis appeal. The study shows that integrative theories are the most common, based on the papers of Romanian authors regarding the concept of CSR. Most articles are based on the idea that the business depends on society to continue its activity and to develop, there is an interdependent relationship between the company and society.

There is an obvious conceptual link between the words "professor" and "profession". May one however assume that being a professor entails belonging to a profession, an academic profession? One may have various motives for entering into and staying in the academy, eg the advantage of progression one the basis of one's own, independent efforts, earning a good salary and following one's calling to expend the energy and abilities one receives in life sensibly. Professors are expected to be (at least) adequate teachers; they are required to have and maintain specialised knowledge of their field and to generate new knowledge by means of the production and dissemination of original research results. Insofar as professions are characterised by their members having specialised knowledge or skills, performing specialised services, are bound by ethical codes and holding an acknowledged social status often expressed in titles, there should therefore not be any doubt as to the existence of an academic profession distinct from other professions (especially those related to the field of scholarship concerned). Practising academics should work towards the active acknowledgment by all of the professionalism of the professorial institution.

Introduction. Production processes quality depends largely on the management infrastructure, in particular, on the information system (IS) effectiveness. Company management pays increasingly greater attention to the safety protection of this sphere. Financial, material and other resources are regularly channeled to its support. In the presented paper, some issues on the development of a safety enterprise information system are considered.Materials and Methods. Protection of the enterprise IS considers some specific aspects of the object, and immediate threats to IT security. Within the framework of this study, it is accepted that IS are a complex of data resources. A special analysis is resulted in determining categories of threats to the enterprise information security: hacking; leakage; distortion; loss; blocking; abuse. The connection of these threats, IS components and elements of the protection system is identified.  The requirements of normative legal acts of the Russian Federation and international standards regulating this sphere are considered. It is shown how the analysis results enable to validate the selection of the elements of the IS protection system.Research Results. A comparative analysis of the regulatory literature pertinent to this issue highlights the following. Different documents offer a different set of elements (subsystems) of the enterprise IS protection system. To develop an IS protection program, you should be guided by the FSTEC Order No. 239 and 800-82 Revision 2 Guide to ICS Security.Discussion and Conclusions. The presented research results are the basis for the formation of the software package of intellectual support for decision-making under designing an enterprise information security system. In particular, it is possible to develop flexible systems that allow expanding the composition  of the components (subsystems).

The rate of development of the subject has been so rapid that it has become difficult for any individual to be conversant with all its implications. Nevertheless, if the benefits of current research are to be realized in practice, some means must be found for presenting the essential data in an assimilable form. The history of the subject is briefly commented on and doubt is expressed regarding the adequacy of the rate of application of new knowledge to industrial problems. Full appreciation of even the simplest bearing situation requires knowledge of hydrodynamics, thermodynamics, material science and metrology and the multi-disciplinary aspects of tribology are emphasized. The introduction of tribology into engineering courses should not therefore impose too great a burden on the student because it depends on fundamentals already understood. The main emphasis of the paper, as indeed of the Conference, is on the application of research results to design. An attempt is made to classify the duty to be performed by a bearing and then to show that the form taken by the solution flows logically therefrom. Protection from hostile environments is emphasized as being probably the most important requirement for satisfactory performance. The paper concludes with the prediction that the general advance in technology will continue to make demands for an advance in knowledge in the field of tribology.

The idea of the study is that the value potential of the subject is a fundamental element of the knowledge system as part of the realization of the idea of sustainable development in education. The basis of the study used the classification of value categories proposed by Milton Rokeach in 1979. We found that in the main school, the content of the subject “Biology” is primarily aimed at forming ideas about terminal values – “life”, “health”, “nature”; in high school – about terminal values “life”, “health”, as well as instrumental values – “perseverance”. The value ideas of a biology teacher are one of the key factors in the formation of students’ value ideas. In the structure of value representations of biology teachers, the three leaders are orientations towards terminal values. We have put forward the assumption that there is a dissonance between the value ideas of respondents and the values that the school biology course is aimed at forming an idea about.
