Purpose–This paper aims to identify the most commonly used E-learning resources in the classroom among Elementary Education students in one of the Local University and Colleges (LUCs) in Batangas, Philippines and evaluates the use of mobile technology and E-Learning System in terms of functionality, usability, efficiency, and reliability based on ISO 9126 evaluation standard.Method–The researchers utilized a self-made questionnaire to gather necessary data to evaluate the E-Learning system based on the ISO 9126 software quality metrics. The questionnaires consisted of three parts: profile of the participants; E-Learning System and E-Learning resources; evaluation of E-Learning System in terms of functionality, reliability, usability, and efficiency. The participants were ninety-three students: nondisabled and students with hearing and speaking problems. 460Results–The most commonly used E-Learning resources in the classroom by the students were laptop computers, smartphones, mobile applications, internet, and video tutorials. It was found out that the E-learning system is highly functional, highly usable, highly efficient, and reliable through the use of mobile technology. This study also shows that there is no significant difference between the assessments of nondisabled students and students with disabilities using the E-Learning System. The participants statedthat E-learning system increases the quality of learning because it integrates all forms of media. Conclusion–Students and teachers were willing to embrace the E-Learning system, there is still a need of access other E-Learning resources, and ICT platforms. As depicted in the result of the study, since the computed values of all variables did not exceed the tabular value, the null hypotheses are hereby accepted. This implies that there is no significant difference between the assessments of nondisabled students and students with disabilities with regards to the E-Learning System.Recommendations–Internet connectivity should be a priority to be established to benefit all the delivery models such as face-to-face, self-paced, and individualized learning along with virtual interactions. Integrating mobile learning may help overcome the concerns with connectivity and convenience to a great extent. Leveraging on the utilization of mobile phones, there should beregular capacity-building activities and skills enhancements on E-Learning System and other related software and tools among the professors, and students.E-learning designers may consider the existence of the users with hearing and speaking disabilities to develop an e-learning environment that may be effective to all users generally.Practical Implications–Academic institutions would be able to adopt the same approach of using E-learning system though mobile technology to handle students with speaking and hearing problems in delivering teaching and learning.

E-learning is viewed as an innovative approach for delivering quality-designed, learner-centered, interactive, and facilitated learning environments to all, anywhere, any moment by putting in use the skills, knowledge, and resources of diverse technologies together with other teaching and learning resources suited for open, and distributed learning environments. Success story in an e-learning system involves a clear process regarding planning, designing, developing, evaluating, and implementing online learning courses where interaction is actively encouraged and facilitated. Emotional experiences can easily provide multiple challenges to students' online and classroom engagement and academic performance. For example, academic fears have wide-ranging effects, affecting strategy use, classroom and/or online performance, and subject choice. This chapter will therefore discuss emotional elements and their impacts in learning platforms in open and distributed environments.

Existing virtual learning environments (VLEs) in educational institutions are not designed with the expectation that students with disabilities will use them. Consequently, retrieving relevant information by some students with disabilities is a challenging task. The focus of this study was to propose the design of VLEs to incorporate ontologies that facilitate information retrieval by students with disabilities in their learning, thus serving as a semantic web-based assistive technology in education. An Ontology-Driven Disability-Aware Personalised E-Learning System (ONTODAPS) was designed and then used to recommend specific learning materials to learners based on their learning goal and disability type. Preliminary results of the evaluation of ONTODAPS, by 30 students with disabilities, indicate that 70% of the participants found ONTODAPS to offer a better personalisation, better access to learning materials (68%) and is easier to use (63%) in retrieving learning materials than Sakai. Thus ONTODAPS serves as an assistive tool in their education through retrieval of relevant learning materials in a suitable format which is compatible with their disability.

It is almost impossible to perform academic activities, such as accessing study material or contacting lecturers and other teaching and learning processes, at an open distance learning institution without the use of computers and the internet. This article investigates and reports on the time taken by students with and without disabilities to complete certain tasks using the University of South Africa's learning management systems (LMS). The findings of the study indicate that the time taken by students with disabilities to finish tasks is much longer compared to the students without disabilities. The study established that well-developed e-learning platforms guarantee efficient and effective use by both students with and without disabilities. The study suggests that it is significant for all LMS stakeholders to be involved in the development of e-learning websites. This is to ensure that accessibility and usability of these websites are adhered to during the development of e-learning websites.

Mobile technology with Augmented Reality has become popular worldwide with a broad range of users, including students from all levels of education and the impact of mobile technology in classrooms has been extensively studied. This technology can be the source of motivation for LINUS students especially students with disabilities. The word usability also refers to the methods to improve the ease of use during a design process. Among the difficulties in teaching a LINUS student is the lack of visual media for understanding the subject especially in basic mathematics such as evaluating a number and calculating the number. The objective of the study was to evaluate the usability of using Augmented Reality in a mobile application among LINUS students in primary schools. This study used survey data gathered from 32 LINUS students of 3 different primary schools in Marang and Kuala Terengganu Districts. The questionnaire collected data on five construct of usability test to the LINUS students. The students used the mobile application while being guide by their teacher. They navigated all the buttons provided and answered the quiz too. The criteria of usability test consist of five constructs. The students showed a significant interest in learning numbers by actively participating in the LINUS sessions. The usability level was measured based on the five constructs. In summary, the augmented reality mobile application has a great potential to be used in teaching and learning, as in the Malaysia Education Development Plan 2013-2025 especially on the LINUS students.

Different approaches to stimulating perceptions in learning can be easily designed with technology-enhanced learning systems. This study aimed to explore how different approaches can influence learners' perceptions that may negatively or positively affect their learning performance of writing Chinese characters using the correct Chinese order of strokes (COS). We therefore designed an e-learning system which was subdivided into two modes: stroke-appearing (i.e., using red to mark incorrect strokes) and stroke-disappearing (i.e., using blanks to mark incorrect strokes) to indicate strokes written in the incorrect order. We then investigated the modes that would facilitate a higher level of attention and better learning outcomes. A total of 10 third-grade elementary school students participated in the experiment, divided into two test groups. Their EEG data were collected, and time series analysis and t-tests were utilized to analyze the differences. The results indicated that: (1) there was a significant difference in the attention levels of the students practicing with the stroke-appearing and stroke-disappearing modes when learning COS, and (2) there was a significant difference in the learning outcomes of the students practicing with the stroke-appearing and stroke-disappearing modes when learning COS. These findings support the specific role of stroke order knowledge in learning Chinese characters and the need for the design of an effective method for teaching children to learn Chinese characters.

Kata kunci: pelajar, pembelajaran daring, pengajar, sistem pembelajaran, website Abstract: Modern technology is growing rapidly, as a society we can feel positive things from the development of modern technology, one of which is the internet. Using the internet with positive things can facilitate community activities, such as in the field of education, one of which is teaching and learning activities. With teaching and learning activities, it can add insight and knowledge to the community, but sometimes students and even teachers who carry out teaching and learning activities are too constrained by time and the regulations that apply to the place of study. The results of the problems that the authors get in conventional teaching and learning activities are that they are required to take the time to go to the place of study and also determine the duration of teaching and learning and even make regulations that sometimes make participants until the teacher is not comfortable with these rules. Therefore, the authors are interested in solving these problems by creating a learning information system (e-learning) with a web-based learner-led learning method that can be accessed anywhere and anytime without incurring costs and not being constrained by time. This research is expected to help in the teaching and learning process comfortably. This website also provides facilities such as video materials and articles aimed at making students more comfortable learning with interactive videos and certificate facilities are also available as evidence that students have succeeded in solving problems from the material they have studied. Keywords: e-learning, learning system, student; teacher, website

This article investigates the support e-learning can provide for the management and marking of assignments. The work is contextualised in the importance of assessment with assignments in tertiary education, in the theories about high quality marking of assignments, and the practical experiences of academics at tertiary institutions. The tasks that need to be carried out as part of assignment management and marking are detailed. A set of requirements is derived based on the education literature and on practical needs established in interviews with academics. Possible architectures for an e-learning system implementing these requirements are suggested and arguments are provided towards using an architecture that combines existing learning management system functionality for assignments with a specialised assignment management and marking application. A specific implementation based on Moodleand Lightwork is introduced. The article concludes with thoughts on the cognitive fit of learning management systems for assignment marking tasks and their core roles in supporting teaching and learning.
