The individuation process demarcates the core concept of Jungian Psychology that represents various systems and structures of personality. Jung defined individuation as the process by which a person becomes “a psychological in-dividual, that is separate, indivisible unity or whole that begins after the 35th year and is necessary for survival. Self-Regulation is one’s ability to monitor, regulate and control one’s behavior. According to Jung, individuation lies at the heart of one’s individuation process. Self-Efficacy is defined as the ability of an individual to realize his/her potential to the fullest irrespective of adversities and obstacles. According to Jung, the primary goal of humans is to move toward the fulfillment or realization of their capabilities (Self-Efficacy) and achieving individuation. Against this backdrop, the present investigation was designed to study the relationship between self-regulation and self-efficacy with the individuation process among adults. Sample for the study consisted of 240 adults, age ranging 40-50 years, having a stable career and married life. Data was collected using questionnaires pertaining to the variables from Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula and Ludhiana. Since, it is the first of its kind attempt in the Indian context to provide elusive character to the construct of individuation, the index for individuation consisted of a cumulative score of self-concept, ego strength and inner directedness. The study consisted of two hypotheses: 1) Self-Regulation will have a positive significant relationship with the individuation process. 2) Self-Efficacy will have a positive significant relationship with the individuation process. Statistical analysis was done using Pearson’s product moment correlation to study the relationship between self-regulation and self-efficacy and the individuation process. Results indicated that both self-regulation and self-efficacy were found to have positive significant relationship with the individuation process, thereby, both the hypotheses stand proved. However, more studies need to be conducted to validate the construct of Individuation process in the Indian context

Jung defined individuation as the process by which a person becomes “a psychological in-dividual, that is separate, indivisible unity or whole that begins after the 35th year and is necessary for survival. Freud originally conceived of defense mechanisms as “intra-psychic” mechanisms that mediate the internal struggles between the internalized societal expectations of the super-ego and the instinctual drives of the id. The present investigation was designed to study the relationship between defense mechanisms (mature, neurotic and immature) and the individuation process among adults. Sample for the study consisted of 240 adults, age ranging 40-50 years, having a stable career and married life. Data was collected using questionnaires pertaining to the variables from Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula and Solan. Since, it is the first of its kind attempt in the Indian context to provide elusive character to the construct of individuation, the index for individuation consisted of a cumulative score of self-concept, ego strength and inner-directedness. The study consisted of three hypotheses: 1) Mature defense mechanisms will have a positive significant relationship with the individuation process. 2) Neurotic defense mechanisms will have a negative significant relationship with the individuation process. 3) Immature defense mechanisms will have a negative significant relationship with the individuation process. Statistical analysis was done using Pearson’s product moment correlation to study the relationship between defense mechanisms and the individuation process. Results indicated that mature defense mechanisms were found to have positive significant relationship with the individuation process, thereby proving our first hypothesis. Whereas both neurotic and immature defense mechanisms were found to have a positive but non – significant relationship with the individuation process, due to which hypothesis two and three were rejected. However, more studies need to be conducted to validate the construct of Individuation process in the Indian context.

This study sought to establish the relationship between boards of governors' (BOGs) roles and management of government aided secondary schools in Kyenjojo District. The objectives were to establish the relationship between BOGs' planning role and management of government aided secondary schools, to establish the relationship between BOGs' supervisory role and management of government aided secondary schools, to establish the relationship between BOGs' control role and management of government aided secondary schools; and to determine the major predictor of management of government aided secondary schools out of the three aspects of BOGs' roles. A correlational research design was used. A total of 90 respondents drawn from 108 BOGs and nine head teachers were selected as sample for the study using stratified random sampling and census inquiry respectively. The instruments used were questionnaire and interview guide. Quantitative data was analysed using Pearson product-moment correlation and regression, while thematic analysis was used on qualitative data. The study found a statistically moderate positive and significant relationship between BOGs' planning role and management of government aided secondary schools (r=.626, p=.000); a statistically moderate positive and significant relationship between BOGs' supervisory role and management of government aided secondary schools(r=.591, p=.000); and a statistically weak positive and significant relationship between BOGs' control role and management of government aided secondary schools(r=.280, p=.015). All the three aspects of BOGs roles account for 38.4% of the influence on management of government aided secondary schools in Kyenjojo district (adjusted r2=0.384, p=.000). The researchers recommend that BOGs should be well trained in management of schools in order to be effective in their work. Head teachers should not be dictators but create a conducive climate for planning, supervision and control by the BOGs.

Teachers begin to experience symptoms of fatigue due to heavy workload characterized by working ineffectively in the classroom so that the interest of the students declined. This study aims to test whether there is relationship between self-regulation and burnout in teachers. The population was junior high school’s teacher. This study use population research, where all the population used as a sample. Researchers use all certified teachers in the school, participants are 35 teachers. The approach used is quantitative method. Data collected using self-regulation and burnout scales, and analyzed using pearson product moment correlation test. The results obtained from this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between self-regulation with burnout in teachers. Significant relationships are seen from the p-value of 0.017 and r value of -0.401. The r value indicates that the relationship between the two variables have a negative direction, meaning that the higher of self-regulation, the lower of burnout. Individual’s good self-regulation be able to cope stress and emotions, because of burnout arising drag on stress experienced by the individual.

This study investigates the relationship between financial self-efficacy (FSE) and saving behavior within a sample of 847 U.S. pre-retirees aged 50 to 70 from the Health and Retirement Study. In accordance with the social cognitive theory of self-regulation, results revealed that FSE is positively related to saving behavior after controlling for sociodemographic attributes, financial characteristics, and saving motives. Understanding how FSE contributes to saving behavior is critical as older workers attempt to bridge the retirement saving gap. Financial counselors and planners can help this population save by cultivating and supporting clients’ FSE throughout the financial planning and counseling process.

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between academic self-efficacy and cognitive flexibility levels of physical education and sports teacher candidates. The universe of the study consisted of 480 teacher candidates studying in the physical education and sports teaching departments of the sports sciences faculties within Selçuk, Erciyes, Süleyman Demirel and Mehmet Akif Ersoy Universities, and the sample group consisted of 192 volunteers from the specified population. Participants in the study were asked to fill in a personal information form, academic self-efficacy and cognitive flexibility scales. IBM SPSS 22.0 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) statistical package program was used to analyze the data. Arithmetic means and standard deviations of the scores of the volunteers from the scales were presented as X±Sd. Pearson Product Moment Correlation Analysis was applied to reveal the relationship of the data obtained from the scales. The value of p<0,05 was considered significant. As a result, it was determined that the academic self-efficacy and cognitive flexibility levels of physical education and sports teacher candidates were above average. A moderate positive correlation was found between academic self-efficacy and alternatives and control subtitles of cognitive flexibility and total of cognitive flexibility. It is thought that this situation is due to the ability of physical education and sports teacher candidates to transfer their experiences in sports life to their education life.
