This study entitled "Reading Comprehension Ability Class VIII students of SMP Nurul Falah Pekanbaru. The issues discussed in this research is how Ability Reading Comprehension Class VIII students of SMP Nurul Falah Pekanbaru. This study aimed to collect information and data on the ability of reading comprehension, then the data and information collected are described, analyzed and interpreted in detail and systematically in order to know the true picture. The population in this study were all eighth grade students totaling 150 students consisting of five classes. The sample used is a sample random sampling which took 50% of the population, then collected a sample of 75 students. The method used in this research is descriptive method, a method that exposes / decipher data. The theory used is the theory of Henry Guntur Tarin (2008), Abdul Razak (1991), and (2005), Kundharu Saddhono and Slamet (2012). Data analysis was performed after the data collected and processed is calculated using the formula proposed by Anas Sudijono (1987: 43), after a large percentage of students answer is known, then connected with the assessment criteria set out Burhan Nurgiantoro (2001: 400). The study concluded Reading Comprehension Ability Class VIII students of SMP Nurul Falah Pekanbaru in determining the basic idea is categorized quite ie 74.64%. Ability Reading Comprehension Class VIII students of SMP Nurul Falah Pekanbaru in determining the explanatory idea is categorized quite ie 70.13%. Ability Reading Comprehension Class VIII students of SMP Nurul Falah Pekanbaru in determining the mandate / view categorized enough that the author is 74.40%. Ability Reading Comprehension Class VIII students of SMP Nurul Falah Pekanbaru in determining which conclusions are categorized as being 64.00%. Overall concluded Reading Comprehension Ability Class VIII students of SMP Nurul Falah Pekanbaru is averaging 70.79% were categorized as adequate and acceptable hypothesis.

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hasil karya menggambar ilustrasi hombo batu Nias dengan teknik arsir ditinjau dari komposisi, Proporsi dan gelap terang karya siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Gunungstitoli Utara. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh karya siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara dengan jumlah 144 karya dan sampel penelitian yaitu kelas VIII-A yang berjumlah 29 karya dengan menggunakan teknik Cluster Random Sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa analisis karya menggambar ilustrasi hombo batu Nias siswa kelas VIII-A SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara rata-rata mendapatkan kategori Cukup dengan total 25 Karya, sedangkan mendapatkan kategori Baik total 2 karya. Dan 2 karya siswa pada kategori Kurang. Pada hasil rekapitulasi nilai karya gambar ilustrasi hombo batu Nias indikator Komposisi mendapatkan kategori Cukup dengan nilai rata-rata 78,9. Indikator Proporsi mendapatkan kategori Cukup dengan nilai rata-rata 78,6. Dan indikator Gelap-terang mendapatkan kategori Cukup dengan hasil nilai rata-rata 79,9. Dengan demikian kelemahan hasil karya siswa kelas VIII-A SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara terletak pada indikator Proporsi, dan  dari 29 karya siswa yang menonjol  adalah indikator Gelap Terang. Selanjutnya nilai terttinggi pada karya siswa dengan mendapatkan nilai rata-rata 86 pada karya nomor 23. Sedangkan nilai terendah pada karya siswa dengan hasil nilai rata-rata 74 pada karya nomor 28.Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa hasil karya gambar ilustrasi hombo batu Nias SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara dikatakan cukup baik, karena terdapat kelemahan penerapan indikator proporsi, namun nilai lebih pada indikator Komposisi dan Gelap Terang.Kata Kunci: hombo batu nias.AbstractThis study aims to analyze the work of drawing illustrations of Nias stone hombo with shading techniques in terms of composition, proportion and darkness of the work of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Gunungstitoli Utara. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The population in this study were all students of class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara with a total of 144 works and the study sample was class VIII-A, amounting to 29 works using the Cluster Random Sampling technique. The results showed that the analysis of works drawing illustrations of Nias stone hombo class VIII-A students at SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara on average received the category of Enough with a total of 25 works, while getting the Good category a total of 2 works. And 2 students' work in the Less category. In the recapitulation of the value of the Nias stone hombo illustration illustration, the Composition indicator gets the Fair category with an average value of 78.9. Proportion Indicators get the Fair category with an average value of 78.6. And the Dark-light indicator gets the Fair category with an average score of 79.9. Thus the weaknesses of the work of VIII-A students of SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara are in the Proportion indicator, and of the 29 outstanding student works are Dark Light indicators. Furthermore, the highest value in the work of students by getting an average value of 86 in the work number 23. While the lowest value in the work of students with an average value of 74 in the work number 28. Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that the results of the Nias hombo illustration illustration works SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara is said to be quite good, because there are weaknesses in the application of the proportion indicator, but more value in the composition of the Dark and Composition indicator. This descriptive research was intended to describe the eighth grade students' ability in using connectors in a recount text at SMPN 9 Jember. The number of population was around 240 students from class VIII A up to VIII F which were chosen purposively by proportional random sampling. This research used 20% of students from each class. So, the respondents were 40 students. The data were obtained through a guided reading test, documentation, and interview. The collected data were analyzed by using a descriptive statistics. The result of the data analysis showed that the students' ability in using connectors in a recount text were categorized into fair for about 40% as many as 14 students, poor and failed that each took 30% as many as 14 and 12 students. Unfortunately, there were no students who got score between 70-79 and 80-100 under the category good and excellent. It means that the students' ability in using connectors in a recount text was not really.   Keywords: Descriptive research, connectors, recount text.

There are three objectives in this study as follows. First, this study describes the reading comprehension skills of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 17 Padang. Second, this study describes the writing skills of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 17 Padang. Third, this study was to analyze the correlation between reading comprehension skills of the news text and writing skills of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 17 Padang. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research. The research design applied in this study is a correlational relationship of two variables. The population in this study were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 17 Padang in the academic year 2019/2020. The samples in this study were 32 students. Samples were taken using simple random sampling or simple random sampling. The research instruments are objective tests and performance tests. Based on data analysis, three results were obtained from this study. First, reading comprehension skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 17 Padang with good qualifications with an average score of 81.80. Second, the skills of writing news texts for eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 17 Padang with good qualifications with an average score of 72.30. Third, there is a significant relationship between the relationship between reading comprehension skills and news text writing skills of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 17 Padang which has a significant level of 95%. Based on the hypothesis test, it is accepted that the skills in writing news texts are also in sufficient qualifications (76-85%). Based on the results of the study, H₀ is rejected and H₁ is accepted because the test results prove that t count is greater than t table, namely 8.01> 1.63.

Recount text is one of the texts in writing which must be taught and stated in Junior High School curriculum. Some students felt that reading text is boring because the students tend to be very lazy to read the text, so that they are not interested in English lessons. The researchers used group investigation technique as one of alternatives in teaching and learning to develop the material and make students more active and interested in class. The objective of this research is to find out whether teaching using group investigation technique is able to develop the students’ reading in recount text at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 17 Kota Serang. The methodology of this research was a quantitative research method by using true experimental design. The study was carried out into two classes, Class VIII E as experimental class, and Class VIII C as control class. The results of the study showed that group investigation was able to develop students’ reading comprehension in recount text. Mean of posttest score of the experimental class (67.31) was higher than the control class (64.18). Based on the statistical analysis using t-test analysis, it showed the value of tcount ≥ ttable = 49.12 ≥ 1.99. It means that (Ha) was accepted and the (H0) was rejected. It can be concluded that group investigation is able to develop students’ reading comprehension in recount text at eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 17 Kota Serang.

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemandirian belajar matematika siswa selama proses pembelajaran online  kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Kota Jambi yang mempengaruhi hasil belajar matematika siswa yang perlu diteliti secara sistematis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah bertujuan untuk mengukur pengaruh yang signifikan antara kemandirian belajar terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Kota Jambi Tahun Ajaran 2020/2021 dengan jumlah keseluruhan 251 orang yang terbagi 7 kelas. Sampel dalam penelitia ini berjumlah 154 orang terbagi 7 kelas yang diambil secara random sampling (teknik acak). Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan pemberian angket dan tes uraian. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji regresi sederhana dengan bantuan program SPSS 23 terdiri  dari  analisis  deskriptif,  uji  persyaratan  analisis  data,  dan  pengujian  hipotesis. Berdasarkan analisis deskriptif diperoleh gambaran kemandirian belajar siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 2 Kota Jambi secara umum termasuk kedalam kategori sedang dengan persentasi 68,18%, skor terendah 41, skor tertinggi 78, rangenya 37, dan gambaran hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 2 Kota Jambi secara umum termasuk kategori sedang dengan persentasi 64,93%, skor terendah 8, skor tertinggi 65, dan rangenya 57. Berdasarkan analisis inferensial terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan kemandirian belajar terhadap hasil belajar matematika pada pembelajaran online siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Kota Jambi. Kata kunci : Kemandirian Belajar, Hasil Belajar Matematika ABSTRACTThis research is motivated by the low independence of students in learning mathematics during the online learning process for class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Jambi City which affects students' mathematics learning outcomes which need to be studied systematically. The purpose of this study was to measure the significant effect of independent learning on students' mathematics learning outcomes. This research is a quantitative research. The population in this study were all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Jambi City for the 2020/2021 academic year with a total of 251 people divided into 7 classes. The sample in this study amounted to 154 people divided into 7 classes taken by random sampling (random technique). Data collection is done by using questionnaires and description tests. Data analysis was carried out using a simple regression test with the help of the SPSS 23 program consisting of descriptive analysis, data analysis requirements test, and hypothesis testing. Based on the descriptive analysis, it was obtained that the learning independence of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Jambi City was generally included in the medium category with a percentage of 68.18%, the lowest score was 41, the highest score was 78, the range was 37, and an overview of the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII students in SMP In general, Negeri 2 Jambi City is in the medium category with a percentage of 64.93%, the lowest score is 8, the highest score is 65, and the range is 57. Based on inferential analysis, there is a significant effect of learning independence on mathematics learning outcomes in online learning for eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Jambi City. Keywords: Independent Learning, Mathematics Learning Outcomes

Abstract : This study aims to describe the ability to write a bid ad for eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Lawa. This type of research is classroom research because researchers are directly involved in SMP Neger 1 Lawa espencially in class VIII as a place to obtain research data. The method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive method that presents data found in the field relating to the ability to write a bid advertisement for eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Lawa, which is then described using numbers with statistical principles. The population in this study were all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Lawa in the 2019/2020 school year. The population is divided into five classes, so the sample collection in this study was 105 from a total population of 144 students. The instrument used in this study was a test of writing ability. The results showed that individually there were 58 (55,23%) students included in the category of able and 47 (44,76%) studests were categorized as unable because they had not yet reached the 85% completeness criteria. Keywords: ability; writing; advertising offer

This study aimed at finding out the influence of visualization on students’ reading comprehension ability. Quantitative approach was employed in carrying out this research. The data were collected through test as it was the main instrument of this study. The data analysis was carried out using manual statistics calculation to find out the mean score before and after the treatment. From the result, it was obtained that the most effect that visualization has is on the inferring; second, it is on details; then it is followed by main idea. The smallest influence is made on vocabulary. Thus, it can be concluded that visualization while reading can help students a lot in terms of inferring, details, and main idea.

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan keefektifan metode hermeneutik  dalam pembelajaran apresiasi puisi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Soppeng Riaja Kabupaten Barru. Penelitian ini digolongkan ke dalam penelitian eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini adalah keseluruhan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Soppeng Riaja Kabupaten Barru yang berjumlah 160 orang yang terbagi ke dalam empat kelas.  Penarikan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purpose random sampling, artinya penentuan sampel dilakukan secara sengaja dengan jumlah yang representatif pada kelas penelitian. Hal ini didasarkan atas pertimbangan keterbatasan waktu, tenaga, dana, dan karakteristik penelitian. Sampel penelitian ditetapkan kelas VIII-2 berjumlah 40 orang sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII-4 sebanyak 40 orang sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik yang digunakan mengumpulkan data penelitian adalah teknik tes. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik statistik inferensial statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  jika guru menerapkan metode hermeneutik, maka  pembelajaran apresiasi puisi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Soppeng Riaja Kabupaten Barru meningkat. Hal ini tampak berdasarkan temuan bahwa metode hermeneutik  efektif diterapkan dalam pembelajaran apresiasi puisi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Soppeng Riaja Kabupaten Barru. Hal ini tampak pula pada nilai yang diperoleh siswa, yakni kemampuan siswa pada kelas kontrol belum memadai dengan tingkat ketuntasan hanya mencapai 57,5% yang mampu memperoleh nilai 70 ke atas. Hal ini berbeda dengan kemampuan siswa meningkat pada kelas eksperimen dengan  kategori mampu dengan tingkat ketuntasan mencapai 92,5% yang memperoleh nilai 70 ke atas. Keefektifan strategi ini diketahui pula berdasarkan hasil perhitungan nilai t (tes signifikansi untuk desain 2). Perbandingan hasil kemampuan kelas kontrol dan eksperimen menunjukkan bahwa nilai t hitung sebanyak 4,29> nilai t tabel 2,02. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis penelitian yang diajukan diterima, yaitu metode hermeneutik  efektif diterapkan dalam pembelajaran apresiasi puisi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Soppeng Riaja Kabupaten Barru (H1).Kata kunci: metode hermeneutik, apresiasi, puisi AbstracThis study was aimed to describe the effectiveness of teaching methods in hermeneutic appreciation of poetry eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Soppeng Riaja Barru . This research was classified into experimental research. The population of this study was overall eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Soppeng Riaja Barru totaling 160 people, divided into four classes. Sampling in this study was used the technique of random sampling purpose, meaning that sampling was done deliberately by the number of the class representative on the study. It was based on the consideration of the limitations of time, effort, money, and study characteristics . The research sample was set of class VIII - 2 of 40 students as a class experiment and VIII - 4 as many as 40 students as the control class. The techniques used to collect research data was a test technique. The data obtained were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics inferential statistics . The results showed that when teachers use hermeneutics method, the appreciation of poetry teaching eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Soppeng Riaja Barru increased. This was evident by the finding that effective hermeneutic method applied in the teaching poetry appreciation eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Soppeng Riaja Barru . It also appeared on the values obtained by the student, the student's ability to control the class was not sufficient to achieve the level of mastery only 57.5 % were able to obtain a score of 70 and above. This was in contrast with the ability of the students increased in the experimental class with category were able to achieve 92.5 % completeness level who scored 70 and above. The effectiveness of this strategy in mind also based on the calculation of the value of t ( test of significance for the design of 2 ) . Comparison of the results of the control and experimental class capabilities was  indicated that as many as 4.29 t value > t table value of 2.02 . This was suggested that the hypothesis of the proposed research was accepted , the hermeneutic method effectively applied in learning poetry appreciation eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Soppeng Riaja Barru ( H1 ) .Key word: Hermeneutic method, appreciation, poetry

Abstract. This study aims to improve the ability to read comprehension with scheme techniques in students class XI IPA-2, SMA Negeri 2 Watampone Bone District. The approach of this research is qualitative approach. This type of research is classroom action research. Techniques used in collecting data, namely observation, interviews, and tests. Technique of data analysis result of research done by using descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that the ability to read comprehension using the scheme technique in cycle I is categorized as low, while the ability to read comprehension using the scheme technique in cycle II, is categorized medium and high. This shows that there is an increase in reading comprehension skills in students of grade XI IPA-2, SMA Negeri 2 Watampone Bone District. The percentage of reading comprehension ability with scheme technique in cycle I of 35% or 14 students from 40 students are in complete category, and 65% or 26 students from 40 students are in incomplete category. While in the second cycle of 92.5% or 37 students of 40 students are in the category of completion, and 7.5% or 3 students of 40 students are in the category is not complete.
