The article analyzes differences regarding work-family balance, participation in family work, and parental self-efficacy in workers (N=300) in Chile according to their sex and their status as income providers. Three instruments (Survey Work-Home Interaction-Nijmegen, Questionnaire of Participation in Family Work, and the Parental Evaluation Scale) were applied to workers from public and private organizations. Our results show that participation in family work is positively related to work-family balance, while the latter, in turn, is positively associated with parental self-efficacy. Furthermore, sex and being the main income provider in the household shows differential effects in both participation in family work and perception of parental self-efficacy. These results, we conclude, suggest the persistence of some elements of traditional gender patterns. This underlines the need to examine organizational policies from a gender perspective and to analyze the impact of public policy on organizational practices.

The purpose of this article is to examine the differences between public and private sector employees’ public service motivation (PSM) levels and also examine the impact of Islamic work ethic (IWE) as a potential antecedent of PSM in a non-Western setting. This quantitative investigation is based on a sample of 419 employees in 13 public and private organizations in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). Independent t test results reveal no statistically significant differences in PSM level between public and private sector employees. The analysis of the data also reveals that PSM is significantly influenced by IWE. Implications and avenues for future research are discussed.

A capability model describes the complete set of features that an organization requires to execute its business model or fulfill its mission; the user’s environment must be increasingly included in the design and development of necessary and desired solutions. For this, the development of the model and its application are central issues. An account should be taken of legislation involving the protection of individuals’ personal data in any relationship involving the processing of information classified as personal data; as well as its impact on public and private companies across the country, considering any size and market segment, and taking into account the need to comply with legal requirements efficiently and sustainably, mitigating risk factors. Transdisciplinarity characterizes this research, as the digital transformation process integrates legal, technological aspects, risks, business analysis, good practices and standards of information technology management and digital compliance. This paper addresses this problem by analyzing the main areas of contribution to the assessment of process capability for digital transformation concerning cybersecurity in the context of personal data protection legislation. Finally, the main components of the future capability model are presented.

The paper presents the findings from current research on the impact that the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) curriculum subjects have on two South African Schools in Gauteng province in South Africa. The aim is to present the impact of the CAPs subjects in the school. The study did a critical evaluation of each subject to elaborate on the importance and challenges in implementing the subjects and using a qualitative research method to collect data on a group of teachers and students on their opinion on the impact of CAPs subjects. The findings suggest that even though the curriculum is effective, it needs to be improved to close the gap between public and private schools. Private schools are currently benefiting the most from the subjects and how the curriculum is structured.

Assessing the impact of digital transformation in the fundamental areas of higher education at a specific university, i.e., Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) will show us the readiness for the digital university. Therefore, in this paper, we deeply analyze the characteristics of the typical model of the digital university (University 4.0) to identify the criteria to be surveyed for the assessment of the availability of HUST in digital transformation process. The analysis of survey results, thereby, discloses the effects achieved by practical implementation of digital transformation solutions at HUST. The results of this study allow us to introduce a readiness framework for digital transformation as a reference for the other higher education institutions. In addition, we can partly confirm that the trend of digital transformation is indispensable for universities in Vietnam, contributing to the improvement of higher education quality and international integration in the context of industrial revolution 4.0.

The impact of new digital technologies creates challenges for the digital transformation process in company sustainability areas. The purpose of this study was to determine the degree of contribution of digital-transformation-enabling technologies to company sustainability areas of three pulp and paper manufacturing companies in Brazil and relate it to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through a systematic literature review based on the PRISMA method, we sought to assess the key concepts of sustainability and the implementation of digital transformation (DT) through its enabling digital technologies. A field study was conducted in three Brazilian pulp and paper companies to assess the degree of contribution. They are leading companies in the paper and cellulose industry in Brazil. The results obtained indicate that the companies in this sample are still in a growth process regarding the use of digital technologies in their sustainability areas. Only one digital technology, cloud computing, appears relevant in one of the companies studied, which differs from the theoretical framework presented by the literature. To achieve the SDGs goals, countries, especially emerging ones, need to develop their technologies and their business and improve the results that relate to sustainability. The research method applied in this study can be replicated to other companies where the impact of digital transformation technologies on company sustainability is critical.
