Moreover, in the context of Indonesia, a country that is predominantly Muslim and becomes the foundation of the advancement of the Islamic world in the future, the spirit of religion cannot be separated from its people. In this case Islam appears as a religion that provides solutions in exclusive life, so as to create harmony that can lead to harmony in life. So the conclusion that we can take is that Islam as a religion that has the mission of rahmatanlil 'alamin must be the basis for every individual and group of Muslims to be tolerant and act well in spreading peace to all parties wherever and whenever Keyword: Islam, rahmatan lil alamin, exclusive life

A small but growing area of public administration scholarship appreciates the influence of religious values on various aspects of government. This appreciation parallels a growing interest in comparative public administration and indigenized forms of government which recognizes the role of culture in different approaches to government. This article is at the crossroads of these two trends while also considering a very salient region, the Islamic world. The Islamic world is uniquely religious, which makes this discussion even more relevant, as the nations that represent them strive towards legitimacy and stability. The history and core values of Islam need to be considered as they pertain to systems of government that are widely accepted by the people. In essence, this is being done in many countries across the Islamic world, providing fertile grounds for public administration research from a comparative perspective. This paper explores these possibilities for future research on this topic.

This research explores the role of the writer in interactive transmedia production through a research project that has been primarily designed to take place within contemporary Northern Ireland. Red Branch Heroes was created, in association with Bellyfeel Productions1, as a prototype for a more extensive fictional interactive web series that will be known as The Eleven. The author developed a game-like scenario where, through their play, the audience influenced and developed character and story elements. The research asks if interactive forms such as transmedia offer any new storytelling potentials to the people of Northern Ireland and how such projects can contribute to debates about e-politics and e-democracy in post-conflict societies. Evidence is presented in this article to suggest that the ‘negotiated narratives' formulated in this prototype offer further creative community-building possibilities, in neutral spaces that can facilitate discourses about the future.

Cultural and religious values of life for the people in South Tapanuli form the perspective of philosophy and various local wisdom. One of the principles they hold strongly is known as 3H they are; hamoraon (character and wealth), hagabeon (successful offspring) and hasangapon (influential and respectable). This research focused on how the 3H principles strongly encourage parents to provide knowledge for the future preparation of their children. Muslim communities are fanatics in religion, meanwhile the most dominant value in giving encouragement to school is not religious teachings, since religion is only a supporting factor of learning (Q.S. 58:11), and the cultural view of 3H is as the basis of the education. It was carried out by in-depth interview techniques with a sociological approach to respondents who were intentionally searched and determined, and the parents or families who were relatively successful in school and in changing lives, and also respectable in the community. It is found that the community is firmed with the 3H value, in which parents were tireless, even sacrificing everything so that their children succeed in enjoying welfare, prosperity and living respect.

The purpose of this article is to critically examine the role of the people in the process of reviewing the implementation and effectiveness of existing laws, described in the emerging literature as ‘post-legislative scrutiny or ‘PLS’. Examining the options for citizen engagement with legislative review is critical for all parliamentary democracies grappling with the challenge of rebuilding trust between citizens and institutions. This is because reviewing the content and purpose of proposed and the implementation and impact of existing laws is a way for parliamentarians to give effect to their democratic promise. The methodology employed is qualitative in nature with a tiered approached to identifying and examining the extent to which individuals and non-government actors can contribute to parliamentary review processes in two Westminster-inspired parliamentary democracies: Australia and Malaysia. Using case study examples and examining both structural and cultural features of the systems of legislative review in both systems, this article directly challenges some of the assumptions previously associated with PLS in the existing literature. Experiences of different ‘ad hoc’ forms of PLS in both Australia and Malaysia suggest that there could be substantial benefits for lawmakers and citizens by moving toward a more deliberative, ‘bottom up’ approach to PLS in the future.

The ArgumentDuring the last two decades the debate on the use and abuse of narrative in historiography has taken a new form: ideological instead of methodological. According to poststructuralist critics, the representation of past events and processes in the form of a coherent story turns history into mythology, which is (or serves) conservative ideology. This is so because the fabrication of organic continuity and unity between the past and the present (as well as the future) of society depicts its most fundamental laws and institutions as divine-natural rather than human creations and thereby renders them impervious to any rational or historical refutation. The main aim of this essay is to reclaim some credibility for narrative history against its critics, both ancient and modern, and on both methodological and ideological grounds, by reappraising the role of myth in the constitution of all norms and forms of life. Setting out from the observation that the narratives and other symbolic interpretations of historical reality in which the people believe are as real as the conditions and events in which they actually live, the author calls upon historians not to eliminate, but to illuminate, myths in history, by showing their extension or configuration of historical reality.

The question of the legal nature of the deputy mandate in constitutional law has been discussed for several centuries. The consolidation in the basic laws of the states of provisions on mandatory or free deputy mandate was conditioned by historical events and the level of development of civil society. Based on the legal nature of the deputy mandate, the role of the deputy is also determined (the attorney who receives instructions from the voters and is responsible to them or the representative of the people, whose connection with the voter is terminated at the elections). But at the same time, the establishment of a free deputy mandate today does not guarantee the permanence of its legal nature in the future.
