The present study examines the synergy of Social Pedagogy and Religious Education (RE)in Education. The aim of the research is the study of the personal and collective change that Religious Education can cause, and its preventive operation in the management of the new global conditions. It is a blended research. It took place during the school year 2017-18 in a Gymnasium and a Lyceum of Attica with the methodology of critical ethnography. The analysis of the qualitative and quantitative data shows that religious knowledge, developed in Education and aiming religious literacy, as defined in the context of Greek / European cultural identity and multiculturalism, can operate preventively and intrusively, on a personal and collective level in the management of modern conditions of globalization, population movement and multiculturalism, when it is understood as experience and is meaningful with the concepts of understanding, reflection and action. The transformative dynamics of religious knowledge trigger the young person to make small and big changes. This learning procedure strongly influences the person who seems to challenge his environment, his parents. This is done without sacrificing the religious content of the subject, which is not delivered by another subject at school. With this, in fact, it can achieve to a high degree the cultural recognition and acceptance of religious diversity and to a certain extent the change of attitudes towards the foreigner, the immigrant, the refugee. Above all, however, it turns out that it contributes to the development of acquaintance and communication of team members, recognition and to a degree of acceptance of otherness and certainly to the development of relationships, in cases that did not exist before.

Bahasa Indonesia:

English:

Islamic education subject in secular school is quite minimal in its duration. Generally, it takes only two credit hours per week in such kind of school. Due to the time allocation, it is clearly impossible to hand down student standard religious knowledge, attitude, and skills. Therefore, the school needs to find an alternative way to respond the needs of standard religious education in secular schools. Some of the implemented strategies are the religious extra-curricular program, extra hours for the subject, and integrated the religious messages in non-religious subjects. Religious teaching staff must also be upgraded in terms of the quality, either the subject matter enrichment or the instructional process. In addition, the instructional process needs optimal implementation. The evaluation should cover the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor areas. The three previously mentioned domain in Islamic education subject must be carefully and comprehensively assessed.

Background: Teledermoscopy can be used to triage referrals of suspected skin cancers, thereby reducing waiting time and number of face-to-face consultations with a dermatologist. However, the success of the implementation of this technology in part relies on the acceptance of the providers. Objectives: This study assessed the attitudes towards teledermoscopy of referring general practitioners and consultant dermatologists. Methods: General practitioners from 48 practices and 3 dermatologists in the region of Southern Denmark, who had previous experience with teledermoscopy, were invited to answer questionnaires on their acceptance of the technology. Results: General practitioners from 23 practices responded. All domains of the questionnaire received high scores, indicating a high degree of acceptance of teledermoscopy among respondents. All 3 dermatologists agreed that teledermoscopy was useful for triaging referrals, but they were less confident in their diagnoses and management plans proposed by teledermoscopy than in traditional face-to-face evaluations of patients. Two of the 3 dermatologists were satisfied with using teledermoscopy as a consult method. Conclusions: This study reports high levels of provider acceptance of teledermoscopy. However, a low response rate among general practitioners may limit its generalizability.

Many young people in South America experience repeated conditions of economic, social, and cultural exclusion, with low rates of secondary school completion and high unemployment exposing them to social violence. Yet, they are also the driving force for change in the region; their creativity is a transformative power. This chapter proposes a pedagogical reflection on the learning process and on social and educational participation. Each young person’s individual experiences and the knowledge they acquire in institutions and diverse social contexts are a platform to develop cultural promotion opportunities that produce the conditions to build a future project. Social educators practice one of the social tie professions that help generate bonds with culture, institutions, and other people, whereas educational action relates each young person to common cultural heritage. Social pedagogy faces the challenge and responsibility of creating strategies and cultural transmission methods for all youth, becoming a political action that fosters equality.

The major aim here is to analyze knowledge literacy in general and religious knowledge literacy in particular. Knowledge literacy can be defined as the ability to find, select, evaluate, and at the same time, effectively use the desired information. Religious literacy in Turkey can be addressed in two categories. The first category is of scientific and intellectual nature, and the second is of popular nature. These two categories recall the distinction between “gentry and commons” (elites and ordinary people) in classical Islamic sources. The scientific and intellectual dimensions of religious literacy manifest itself in the work of scholars in the faculties of theology. However, most of the academic studies of theology community can be considered as insufficient and incompetent in terms of certain qualities such as selecting and criticizing the information and using it effectively to draw conclusions, because of the fact that these studies are shaped within the frame of existing templates and knowledge that passed through a sectarian interpretation filtering.

Purpose To transfer the report sheet from the guidelines regarding the German Transplantation Act to a standards-compliant report template and to evaluate it in the clinical routine. Materials and Methods The template was developed using the freely available software brackets.io. It was implemented in the clinical routine using a reporting platform developed in-house. Interfaces to the department RIS and PACS allowed for integration into the usual reporting workflow. The evaluation period was 70 days. Results Developing the template for implementation of the guidelines was possible without any difficulties. The content of the report sheet provided in the guidelines was transferred one to one. Additionally, a text field was included to allow for further remarks. In the period under review, 7 radiologists performed 44 evaluations in line with § 16 of the German Transplantation Act. Users of the template, referring physicians and the employees of the transplantation office reported a high degree of satisfaction. Conclusion Implementing report sheets that are required by law (e. g. in the guidelines regarding § 16 of the German Transplantation Act) in the clinical routine electronically is easy and achieves a high degree of acceptance. The standard supported by the German Radiological Society (IHE – "Management of radiology report templates") allows for a quick response to the growing demand for structured and standardized reporting. This article discusses the final written results of a research project carried out in a number of first-year forms in three Dutch schools for secondary education. In each of the three schools the research project offered a light-weight extra listening programme in class A, and a light-weight extra reading programme in class B, while the regular programme for French was carried out in class C, which served as a control group. At the end of the school year the pupils' reading and listening ability, grammatical knowledge and vocabulary (receptive as well as productive) were evaluated in classes, and C. The general conclusion is that at the elementary level a light-weight extra listening programme does indeed lead to a high degree of listening ability when compared with the other groups. This holds good to an even slightly greater extent for the light-weight extra reading programme. Moreover, it appears that the extra reading programme also leads to a high degree of listening ability. The control groups who had the greatest amount of grammatical training, do indeed score highest in grammar tests, but this knowledge does not become apparent at all in the ability tests /reading and listening). The results of the vocabulary tests are hardly clear. It is probable that at this level reading promotes the acquisition of a productive vocabulary. In the ability test girls generally score higher than boys.

Death, violence, oppression, and racism have become part of the narratives of all young African Americans. Parents and youth workers are challenged in navigating these realities alongside youth. This chapter asks, What type of vision calls young people out of the cycles of death and violence and into esteemed roles in co-creating lives of abundance? What might a practice of choosing life look like for young people? Considering the theological insights, public ministry, and prophetic vision of one young person, this chapter leads the reader through one example of listening and discernment with youth, highlighting the theological insights and practical strategies that emerge. The chapter then moves to outline the work of key religious educators and religious critics, and contemporary resources and limitations of religious education in the Black church. Finally, this chapter suggests goals, methods, and strategies of critical pedagogy for integrating spirituality and abundant life with Black youth.
