Ngipik, bunder and dowo reservoirs or dowo are one of the repositories in Gresik regency located in the center of the city that has been utilized by the community for industrial, agricultural and domestic purposes, while also being used for tourism purposes. The study aims to determine water quality and evaluate the status of water fertility in three reservoirs/lakes (Ngipik, Bunder and Dowo) in Gresik district. The research activities were carried out from 16 to 20 July 2019. The data collection method used a survey method with stratified random sampling at three different stations. The results of water quality measurements show that overall that the water quality in the three reservoirs/ponds is still good for aquaculture activities except Ngipik Lake based on phosphate values of 0.75 - 3 ppm can be categorize including the status of dense eutrophic waters so specific management plans are needed to optimize its utilization. Whereas in the Bunder reservoir and Dowo ponds, the phosphate content has not detected, so its water status is oligotrophic.

Sungai Mahap is used by the people of Nanga Mahap Village, Nanga Mahap District, Sekadau Regency for daily needs such as cooking, transportation and even consumption as drinking water. Utilization is done by the community because this area has not been flooded with clean water facilities. The quality and status of the Mahap River water quality standard needs to be further examined to study the feasibility of water as an air source used by the community regarding the importance of increasing plantation activities upstream. This research uses descriptive method using quantitative. Air sampling was conducted using a sample survey method with proposed parameters namely BOD, COD, pH, DO, TSS and NH3. Water quality testing is based on Government Regulation No. 82 of 2001 and determines the status of water quality using the STORET method and the pollution index based on the Decree of the Minister of Environment No.115 of 2003. In this study, the river pollution load was also calculated. The results show that the composition of BOD, COD, and Fe has exceeded the specified quality standards. The water quality status of the Mahap River is classified as moderate to severe based on the STORET method and Pollution Index. The highest river pollution load occurs at point II, in the dry season at 104.725 kg/day and in the rainy season at 171.873 kg/day

This paper delivers two issues: water quality in the Yeongsan (YS) watershed which is one of the major watersheds in Korea and new watershed management plans with respect to the total maximum daily loads (TMDL) management. Field studies were conducted to estimate the pollutant loads according to the spatial and temporal distribution based on the biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) concentration and the volumetric flow rate (VFR) data from YS watershed. The results of both spatial and temporal analyses show the main pollutant source was originated from the city of Gwangju and the pollutant load from the city to YS watershed was the most out of five cities during this study period. Concerning YS reservoir located downstream of YS watershed, it also shows the worst water quality in the entire watershed during the study period. These results collectively demonstrate that the city of Gwangju is a main region which generates numerous point and non-point pollutant sources and eventually the pollutants are accumulated in YS reservoir. Based on the results, we suggest two different management plans for YS watershed. One is the flow-control approach that is to increase the amount of dam discharge in order to guarantee the river management flow for the midstream region. The other is the mass-control approach that is to dredge the contaminated sediments in YS reservoir for removing pollutants chronically accumulated in the sediment. Simulations for the former and the latter provide the pollution mitigation rate in the watershed up to 6 and 8% for BOD5, respectively. The methodology proposed here for TMDL management can be applied to a wide range of watersheds in Korea.

The article examines the issue of the development of a research attitude to the surrounding world in younger students. The authors state that there is a contradiction between the need for developing methods of organizing research activities among primary schoolchildren and investigation of such methods. The article offers a model of forming a research attitude to the surrounding world among younger schoolchildren during extracurricular activities The model includes the following blocks: targeting; structural and content-related; operational and activity-related; efficiency evaluating. The model describes a step by step process projected by the teacher and members of the scientific community. It starts with stimulating children's interest in the research of specific social and natural objects of the city park; next comes their mastery of the researcher social roles and, finally, children become aware that a research attitude in organizing meaningful activities helps maintain the status of the city park for the cultural future of the next generations and the advance of domestic science. Addressing the issue of forming a research attitude towards the surrounding world in younger schoolchildren made it possible to work out the questions of developing education and upbringing in primary school from the perspective of cultural norms, as a part of the internal individualization of education, and with regard to the schoolchildren’s acquisition of productive reflection on research strategies.

Metro River is a river that passes through Malang City and empties into Karangkates Dam. The increasing number of residents of Malang City resulted in more volume of waste water produced, and one of them is dumped on the Metro River. This affects the increasing pollution load received by the river so that it affects the decreasing of tamping capacity of river pollution load. Changes in water quality in rivers lead to changes in macrozoobenthic community composition. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor the quality status of Metro River by using macrozoobentos animals. The purpose of this research is to make the classification of Metro River based on macrozoobentos animal community in determining the water quality status of Metro River based on macrozoobentos and the classification of pollution level that happened. The research method is field observation, water quality measurement of Metro river and macrozoobentos sampling. The results showed that the distribution of macroinvetebrata in the Site of group of Banana Temple was from Gastropoda family, Leptophlebiidae, Chloroperliidae, and Baetidae on rocks with fast current velocity (1.02 m3 / s), 17-27 ° C, BOD level 3.7 mg / l, and COD content of 20.8 mg / l. While on the Site of group Merjosari, Karang Besuki, Bandulan and Sitirejo were found macrozoobentos from Chironomidae, Hydrop sychidae and Lumbri cullidae families, on the substrate of mud and sand, with slow flow rate (0.0052 - 0.0675 m3 / s), BOD 21, 8 - 45.7 mg / l, and COD content 107.8 -267.2 mg / l. The status of upper Brantas river waters determined by using the BMWP Index of the Pisang Candi, Merjosari, Karang Besuki, Bandulan and Sitirejo groups has medium gray water status with ASPT values ranging from 4 to 6.2. Keywords: macrozoobentos, Water Quality Status of River, BOD, COD
