This study aimed to examine and describe the role of the teacher in improving the character of discipline for students. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects were the principal, teachers, and students. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was performed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results of this study indicated that the role of teachers in the character building of student discipline at SD Negeri 1 Kendaga is a teacher as an educator, a teacher as ainstructor, a teacher as a guide, a teacher as a trainer, and a teacher as an evaluator. The teacher's efforts in shaping student character are by using the method of habituation, exemplary, lectures and simulations.This research is useful for teachers, to be able to act as good role models, to provide guidance and supervision to improve students discipline.

This study aims to describe the planting of Discipline character in Bleber 1 Prambanan Sleman Elementary School, which includes the value of disciplinary characters instilled in the school. Student discipline is formed because of the teacher's leadership role that appropriately applies discipline in school. The teacher also has a role as a role model in implementing discipline. This study included qualitative descriptive research. The research subjects were principals, teachers, and students. The object of research is the role of the teacher in instilling student discipline. The technique of collecting data through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman models which include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study showed that the planting of the character of the discipline of students at Bleber 1 Elementary School in Prambanan Sleman was well-created. The role of the teacher in instilling student discipline is as a role model and motivator. As a role model the teacher gives an example to students and as a motivator the teacher always gives advice to students. Supporting factors in instilling discipline in the form of giving gifts as appreciation and punishment as sanctions are very instrumental in regulating the pattern and behavior of students so that they are always orderly in carrying out a discipline. The inhibiting factor in instilling discipline comes from students' internal factors. Discipline is important in order to create a comfortable and safe learning environment in schools.

This research is aimed to investigate (1) role of Civics Education teachers in building students’ character through nationalism attitude. The research results show that the teachers’ role is highly needed because they are role models to make the students’ behavior and character better and beneficial in terms of life, so that students of SMA 1 Petir can improve their character of nationalism. (2) factors which influence the building of nationalism character (3) the teachers’ effort toward the students’ character building. Based on the results of the research, in their way to solve the problem, the teachers use PAIKEM method, where the learning teaches active, innovative, creative, and fun learning. The research method used in this study is descriptive analysis research with a qualitative approach. The source of data in this qualitative research is gotten by digging information /explanation directly from sources of information that are considered to be related to the building of students’ characters in XI IPS 2 of SMA 1 Petir. As for the informants, this research gets Civics Education teachers and students of SMA 1 Petir. Data collection techniques used by the researchers in this research are interviews, observations, and documentation. In addition, the data analysis technics used by the researchers in this qualitative research are data reduction, display, and verification.

This endeed of  research is to describe the place of the kolintang music ensemble to accompany the singin of the flag ceremony at SMP Sw. St. Paulus Sidikalang. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The subject of this research is flag ceremony. The research focussed on the role of Kolintang music ensemble as song chanting. The data of the final research was obtained from the observations of the flag-raising activities, interview with teachers, student adan kolintang’s players in junior high school and take a documentation. Data were analyzed with qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. Data validity is obtained through data triangulation, observer triangulation, theory triangulation and method triangulation. The purpose of this research is to know and descriebing  kolintang music. Example, in this research is by using numbered data such as document, archieves, interview results, observation result or also by interviewing more thn one subject that is consideret to have a different point of view.The result showed that : (1) In accompaniying singing at the flag-ceremony, students used the basic notes G, C and F. (2) the tecnic to performed kolintang    were not wheeled with a kolintang played general. (3). After carrying out their duties as chanting accompaniment in the ceremony, students who performed kolintang first practice on kolintang extracurricular activities. (4) in the process of playing kolintang, each player must have a strong feeling so that the technic kolintang is harmonious. Keywords : Descriptive Study, Ensemble, Kolintang music

The purpose of this study was to find out how students' understanding of concepts, disciplines and responsibilities could be improved by applying the Think Pair Share (TPS) model. The research method used is classroom action research which is carried out in two cycles, where each cycle consists of two meetings. The research subjects were 31 students of SDN Tanahwulan Maesan Bondowoso class Vb. The research instrument in the form of observation sheets and written tests was analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The indicator of the success of this classroom action research uses the minimum completeness criteria target (KKM) that has been set, namely 70 with classical completeness of 94% or 29 students. From the results of the study it was found that the average level of completeness of the students' conceptual understanding of social studies material continued to increase from the pre-cycle conditions of 52%, cycle 1 was 84% ​​and cycle 2 was 100%. In the discipline aspect, there was also an increase in the score from 71 in cycle 1, increasing to 86 in cycle 2. In the aspect of student responsibility, the score increased, namely 72 in cycle 1 and 85 in cycle 2. So it can be concluded that the application of the TPS learning model can improve understanding of students' concepts, disciplines and responsibilities

ABSTRACT  This study aims to determine the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the adiwiyata program in shaping the character of caring for the environment and to find out supporting factors and obstacles in the implementation of the adiwiyata program in shaping the character of the care for the environment in SD Muhammadiyah Bodon Kotagede. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection methods are done through interviews, observation, and documentation. Research subjects were the principal, the adiwiyata team, teachers, and students. The validity of the data uses triangulation techniques. Analysis techniques using data collections, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the implementation of the adiwiyata program in shaping the character of caring for the environment had been integrated in policies that were environmentally friendly and integrated in each subject. The integration was socialized to all school members to create an environmentally friendly school agreement. The supporting factors for the implementation of the adiwiyata program are the beautiful school environment, good cooperation between the schools, adequate budget, and environmentally friendly supporting facilities that support the implementation of the adiwiyata program. Factors inhibiting the implementation of the adiwiyata program include that there are still students who are not yet aware of understanding the concept of being environmentally minded and still lacking land for the process of growing green plants.

<p>Character building efforts through education in Indonesia can be said to have not been implemented optimally. It is illustrated by the many behaviors of learners that lead to immoral behavior and contrary to the values   of Pancasila. The moral crisis must be addressed immediately<br />by increasing efforts to shape the character of good citizens. Character building through education is charged to every subject at school. One of the subjects charged in shaping the character of good citizens is through Civics subjects. The subject of Civics becomes a very effective approach in achieving the goal of character formation. This paper seeks to describe how the role of Civics teacher as a central fi gure in shaping the character of learners in accordance with the expected goals. The method used in this paper is a literature review of ideas that strengthen this paper. Teachers become central figures in the learning process so that the role of teachers is very large in shaping the character of learners in accordance with the value of Pancasila. Teachers must change the paradigm that teachers<br />only as teachers become educators. That’s because teachers in shaping characters are not through knowledge transfer but are able to bring students in real experience through learning. The role of Civics teachers in forming the character of citizens include 1) the role of teachers as teachers in understanding the values   of characters to be developed; 2) the role of teachers as the compilers of character-based learning devices; 3) the role of teachers as implementers of innovative learning and 4) the role of teachers as role models in character building.</p><p><br />Keywords: role of teacher, Civics and character education</p>

This paper presents the role of Moslem education in shaping the character of student discipline. Many public school students still underestimate morality, manners, and disciplined behavior. Therefore, education is the center of Islam and the best solution to shape student discipline. Islamic education may be a method of deepening and appreciating knowledge. In this process, students learn Islamic values through the expansion and development of their natural abilities. They notice their potential for equality and excellence in life. The analysis methodology employed in this research is descriptive analysis; a collection of data and sources to analyze, explain critically, and understand more systematically the role of Islamic education in shaping student discipline. The results of the research show that the benefits of Islamic education can shape student discipline, including providing religious material, guidance, advice, recommendations, and role models for educators.

This study aims to determine the Musyrif strategy applied in the formation of leadership and independence character in SMA Insan Cendekia Mandiri Boarding School (ICMBS), Sidoarjo. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, data obtained through observation, documentation and in-depth interviews. Sources of data in this study were obtained through interviews on January 29 - February 7 2020 together with the Supervisior of the High School Dormitory, Musyrif, and board of the Santri Boarding Organization and SMA ICMBS Alumni as supporting data. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The results showed that in character building, the musyrif strategy is divided into two, namely (a) internal strategy includes six stages - planning, introduction, implementation, supervision, reward and punishment, and evaluation, and (b) external strategies namely introduction, supervision, and integrated evaluation through active communication with guardian parents in both formal and informal forms. So, it can be concluded that the musyrif strategy is very effective in shaping the character of leadership and student independence. The Character Guidebook is a reference book for elementary school age children that aims to foster a sense of tolerance and love for the Republic of Indonesia. This study aims to implement a character manual developed by the research team. The study involved 25 and accompanying teachers at SDN Taman 4 Madiun. Data validation or data validity refers to data triangulation methods including source triangulation, methods and researchers. Data analysis techniques in this study refer to the interactive models of Miles and Hubermen which include: 1) data collection, 2) data reduction, 3) data presentation, 4) conclusion drawing. The results of implementation with the role of the character manual, character building to foster a sense of tolerance have a positive impact. Through the use of the character manual, it is hoped that it can become a guideline for teachers and students to apply the character, especially the sense of tolerance that is applied as a support for learning in school.
