<p><strong><em>Background:</em></strong><em> Self-cured acrylic resin is a material used for repairing broken and fractured dentures. Zirconium dioxide (ZrO2) is a reinforcing material that is being developed as an additive to the acrylic resin. <strong>Objective:</strong> to determine the effect of zirconium dioxide (ZrO<sub>2</sub>) addition on self-cured acrylic resin on impact strength. <strong>Material and Methods:</strong> This study was a true experimental laboratory study with the design of a post-test only control group design, using 24 pieces of self-cured acrylic resin measuring 65 x 10 x 2.5 mm divided into 4 groups with and without zirconium addition dioxide (ZrO<sub>2</sub>) nanoparticles. Zirconium dioxide (ZrO<sub>2</sub>) nanoparticles were silanized first by mixing the silane coupling agent. Furthermore, the impact strength was tested on the plate. Background  :  Alginat  is  one  of  the  most  used  impression  material  in  dentistry..  Alginate impression need to be disinfected to prevent cross-infection. One of effective natural material that can be used as disinfectant  is avocado  leaves.  The process  of disinfection  could interfered  the dimensional stability of alginate impression caused of imbibition properties in alginate itself. Purpose  : To determine  the differences  of dimensional  stability  of alginate  impression  which disinfected with avocado leave extract 100% compared 0.5% sodium hypochlorite. Method : This research was an experimental laboratory with post -test only control group design. Sample were divided into 3 groups, 1 group were sprayed with aquadest as control group and 2 treatment groups were sprayed with avocado leaves extract 100% and 0.5% sodium hypochlorite and stored for 10 minutes. The impression then casted with gypsum in cylinder mold and diameter of the cast were measured. The One Way ANOVA test were used to determine the dimensional stability of the difference between the groups. Result :The results showed that the alginate impression  which disinfected  with avocado leaves extract 100% have a significant  dimensional  change, that is 0.123 ± 0.011 mm compared  with 0.5% sodium hypochlorite only 0.034 ± 0.011 mm. Conclution   :  There  are  differences  in  dimensional   stability  of  alginate  impression   which disinfected with avocado leaf extract 100% and 0.5% sodium hypochlorite. Abstract: Acrylic resin is a denture base material that is still used in the field of dentistry. Porosity, one of the properties of a denture base material, can lead to absorption of fluid in the mouth, one of them is coffee. Porosity that occurs in a denture base material can cause discoloration. Coffee is favored by most people. Coffee contains tannins, a polyphenol compound, that can be absorbed through the porous of the denture base which can cause discoloration of the denture base. This study was aimed to determine the effect of acrylic resin plate immersed in coffee solution with various viscosity to the changes in volume of coffee solution. This was a pre laboratory experimental study with a pre and post test only control group design. Samples were 18 acrylic resin plates with a size of 65 x 10 x 2.5 mm. Each treatment group consisted of 6 samples. The samples were divided into 3 treatment groups that were soaked in coffee 2 g, 4 g, and 6 g for 7 days. The results showed that after 7 days of immersing resin acrylic plates in coffee solution with various viscosity, the changes of the volumes of coffee solution had a mean of 0.064 for 2 g; 0.147 for 4 g; and 0.244 for 6 g. The one-way ANOVA test resulted in a p value of 0.00. Conclusion: There was a significant effect of resin acrylic immersed in a coffee solution with various viscosity to the changes in the volume of coffee solution.Keywords: acrylic resin, changes in volume of the solution of coffee, coffee Abstrak: Resin akrilik merupakan bahan basis gigi tiruan yang sampai saat ini masih digunakan dalam bidang Kedokteran Gigi. Porositas merupakan salah satu sifat basis gigi tiruan. Adanya porositas pada basis gigi tiruan dapat mengakibatkan terserapnya cairan yang masuk dalam mulut salah satunya yaitu kopi. Porositas yang terjadi pada basis gigi tiruan dapat menyebabkan perubahan warna pada basis gigi tiruan. Kopi merupakan salah satu minuman yang banyak digemari masyarakat. Kopi mengandung tanin suatu senyawa polifenol yang dapat terserap masuk melalui porus pada basis gigi tiruan dan menyebabkan perubahan warna pada basis gigi tiruan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perendaman plat resin akrilik dalam larutan kopi dengan berbagai kekentalan terhadap perubahan volume larutan kopi. Jenis penelitian ialah pra eksperimental laboratorium dengan pre and post test only control group design. Sampel terdiri dari 18 plat resin akrilik dengan ukuran 65 x 10 x 2,5 mm. Sampel dibagi menjadi 3 kelompok perlakuan yang di rendam dalam kopi 2gr, 4gr, dan 6gr selama 7 hari. Masing-masing kelompok perlakuan terdiri dari 6 sampel. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan setelah 7 hari perendaman plat akrilik dalam larutan kopi dengan berbagai kekentalan terhadap perubahan volume larutan kopi memiliki rerata kopi 2 gr sebesar 0,064, kopi 4 gr sebesar 0,147. dan kopi 6 gr sebesar 0,244. Uji One-way Anova menunjukkan adanya pengaruh perendaman resin akrilik dalam larutan kopi dengan berbagai kekentalan terhadap perubahan volume larutan kopi dengan p=0,00. Lesson material presented in the form of data or facts and specific concepts on expository learning model helps learners to connect new material with material that precedes it, so organizers help is provided to instill meaningful learning. This study aims to determine the difference of influence of the implementation of learning model of assisted advance organizer and post organizer expository. The population in this study is all students of class X MIA SMA Negeri 3 Mataram academic year 2017/2018. Sampling is done by purposive sampling technique, and quasi experimental research uses non-equivalent control group design with pre-test-and post-test. The results obtained from the classroom given the treatment of expository learning model assisted by advance organizer and post organizer have the same tendency improvement. In both classes there is a relatively similar increase in the mastery of the previous concept, but the difference between the two is not much different. Therefore, there is no difference of influence between expository model of assisted advance organizer and post organizer to the mastery of work and energy concepts of learners.

This study aims: 1) To know the significance of the difference between the average value of pre-test of experimental class students and the average value of pre-test of control class students, 2) Knowing the average value of post-test of experiment class students is significantly higher compared with the mean value of post-test control class, 3) Knowing the average value of students' gain of experimental class is significantly higher than the control group's average gain. This type of research is experimental research with pretest-posttest control group design. Sample determination technique is random sampling, obtained class X2 as experimental class and class X4 as control class. The data collection technique is done by giving the test of Geography learning result in the form of multiple choice test. Data analysis techniques use descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that the average value of post-test students class X2 = 79.67 with n-gain = 0.72 while class X4 = 75.05 with n-gain = 0.63. Based on t test analysis, t-Calculated = 2.07> tTable = 2.00 at a significant level of 95% (α = 0.05), this indicates that the average post-test grade of the experimental class is significantly higher than the the average value of post-test of control class students on the subject matter of the history of earth formation.

The aim of this study was to know about the effect of Prezi media to the learning result off class x students about a Craft and Entrepreneurship at SMA N 4 Singaraja. The research method used quasi experiment with Post-test only control group design. The research object were a class experiment and a class control. The research object selection used random sampling. The sample class of this research were X MIA 3 class as experiment class and X MIA 6 as the control class. To examine the hypothesis, one sided t-test used. The one sided t-test result showed that the study result of experiment class which used the media of Prezi higher than the class control which used the conventional media. It could be seen from one sided t-test result with tsum = 7,015 bigger than ttable = 1,672. So, the Prezi media gave the positive effect to the study result of a Craft and Entrepreneurship subject.

Background: One of the materials for denture bases is heat-cured acrylic resin (PMMA). This material still lacks impact strength as a mechanical strength property. The addition of reinforcing material is known to increase the mechanical strength of PMMA. One of the reinforcing materials added to PMMA is nano cellulose from rice husks, one of the wastes from agricultural products. Purpose: This study aims to determine rice husk nano cellulose's addition to the PMMA denture base's impact strength. Method:  The research sample consisted of six groups, each group consisting of 8 samples selected by simple random. The PI, P2, P3, P4, P5, and K groups were PMMA with 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5% nano cellulose, and without nano cellulose. Result: Mean impact strength test results were 41.50 x 10-3 ± 3.891 J / mm2 for P1, 44.13 x 10-3 ± 3,980 J / mm2 for P2, 45.63 x 10-3 ± 4,438 J / mm2 for P3, 46.87 x 10-3 ± 4,824 J / mm2 for P4, 49.12 x 10-3 ± 4.016 J / mm2 for P5 and 36.25 x 10-3 ± 1.982 J / mm2 for K. One way Anova test results with p-value of 0.000 indicates differences in the six groups (p<0.05). Conclusion: This study concludes that the impact strength value of PMMA with the addition of rice husk nano cellulose has increased compared to the control group without the addition of rice husk nano cellulose.

Abstract: Porosity Of Acrylic Resin After Immersion In The Boiled Water Of Betel Leaves And Siwak Wood. Denture acrylic resin can be a collection point for stain, tar, and plaque and this will adversely affect the oral health of the denture wearer. One way to clean the oral cavity of denture users is to use mouthwash and soak the teeth with a cleaning solution/denture cleanser. Mouthwash solutions and chemical-based cleaning solutions at relatively high prices, and affect the porosity of dentures. Therefore, the need for alternative materials that are safe, cheap, natural as well as having antimicrobial function without affecting the level of porosity of denture. This study was to determine the effect of the combination of boiled water of betel leaves and siwak wood to the porosity of the acrylic resin plate. This study was an experimental study, posttest only design with the control group has been done at the integrated laboratory of Poltekkes Tanjungkarang, July – December 2015. Data were analyzed by One Way ANOVA and continued with Least Significant Difference test. The results showed that the combination of betel leaves and siwak wood does not affect the porosity of the acrylic resin plate. The highest concentration of the combination of betel leaf water and siwak wood that did not differ significantly with negative control (aquades) was 75% with longest immersion period was 59 days. Abstrak: Porositas Lempeng Resin Akrilik Pasca Perendaman Rebusan Daun Sirih Dan Kayu Siwak. Gigi tiruan resin akrilik dapat menjadi tempat pengumpulan stain, tar, dan plak dan hal ini akan berpengaruh jelek terhadap kesehatan mulut pemakai gigi tiruan. Salah satu cara menjaga kebersihan rongga mulut pengguna gigi tiruan adalah dengan menggunakan obat kumur dan merendam gigi-tiruan tersebut dengan larutan pembersih/denture cleanser. Larutan obat kumur dan larutan pembersih berbahan dasar dari bahan kimia dengan harga yang relatif mahal, serta mempengaruhi porositas gigi tiruan. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya bahan alternatif yang aman, murah, alami sekaligus memiliki fungsi antimikroba dengan tanpa mempengaruhi tingkat porositas gigi tiruan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi air rebusan daun sirih dan kayu siwak terhadap porositas lempeng resin akrilik. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental, rancangan post test only with control group design, dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Terpadu Poltekkes Tanjungkarang, Juli-Desember 2015. Analisis data dengan uji One Way ANOVA dan dilanjutkan uji Least Significant Difference. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi air rebusan daun sirih dan kayu siwak tidak mempengaruhi porositas lempeng resin akrilik. Konsentrasi tertinggi dari kombinasi air rebusan daun sirih dan kayu siwak yang tidak berbeda signifikan dengan kontrol negatif (aquades) adalah 75% dengan lama perendaman terpanjang yaitu 59 hari.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan perkembangan motorik halus antara kelompok anak yang dibelajarkan menggunakan kegiatan kolase dan kelompok anak yang di belajarkan menggunakan kegiatan mewarnai pada B di TK Gugus VIII Kecamatan Buleleng Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini tergolog dalam penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan rancanga Non-Equivalen Post Test Only Control Group Desain. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelompok B yang ada di Gugus VIII Kecamatan Buleleng Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019, yang berjumlah 96 orang anak. Sampel penelitian ini yaitu anak kelompok B TK Kumara Kerti yang berjumlah 15 orang sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelompok B TK Shinta Kumara yang berjumlah 15 orang anak sebagai kelas kontrol, pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik cluster sampling. Data yang diperoleh menggunakan tehnik analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis statistik inferensial (uji Uji-t). Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, di peroleh thitung =10,10 dan ttabel (pada taraf taraf signifikansi 5%) =2,048. Hal ini berarti bahwa thitung > ttabel sehingga dapat diinterpretasikan bahwa perkembangan motorik halus kelompok anak yang belajarkan menggunakan kegiatan kolase lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelompok anak yang dibelajarkan dengan kegiatan mewarnai. Dengan demikian, kegiatan kolase berpengaruh positif terhadap perkembangan motorik halus Kelompok B di TK Gugus VIII Kecamatan Buleleng Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019.Kata Kunci : Kata-kata kunci: Anak usia dini, kegiatan kolase, perkembangan motorik halus The study aims to determine the difference in fine motor development between groups of children that are taught using collage activities and groups of children that are used to use coloring activities on Kelompok B TK GUGUS VIII Kecamatan Buleleng Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019. The population of this research is Kelompok B Gugus VIII Kecamatan Buleleng Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019 a total of 96 children. This research sample is the child Kelompok B TK Kumara Kerti which amounted to 15 people as an experimental class while Kelompok B TK Shinta Kumara Which amounted to 15 children as the control class, sampling using cluster sampling technique. Data obtained using descriptive statistical analysis techniques and inferential statistical analysis (test-t test). Based on the results of data analysis, in obtaining Thitung = 10.10 and Ttabel (at the level of significance 5%) = 2.048. This means that Thitung > Ttabel so that it can be interpreted that the fine motor development of a child group that belteaches using a higher collage activity compared to a group of children who are used to the coloring activities. AbstrakBayi baru lahir memiliki 80 ml darah dari plasenta pada 1 menit setelah kelahiran dan 100 ml pada 3 menit setelah lahir, volume ini akan memasok 40-50 mg/kg ekstra besi untuk memiliki 75 mg/kg besi tubuh bayi yang cukup bulan yang dapat mencegah kekurangan zat besi pada tahun pertama kehidupan. Oleh karena itu pemotongan tali pusat yang terlalu cepat setelah persalinan akan mengurangi kandungan besi sekitar 15-30%, sedangkan bila ditunda 3 menit dapat menambah volume sel darah merah sekitar 58%. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membuktikan adanya perbedaan kadar Hb (hemoglobin) dan Ht (hematokrit) akibat perbedaan waktu penjepitan tali pusat. Penelitian ini dilakukan di tempat Bidan Praktek Mandiri Kota Padang. Jenis penelitian eksperimental dengan post-test only controll group design. Pengambilan sampel secara consecutive sampling sampai tercapai jumlah 36 bayi yang terbagi atas 18 bayi baru lahir pada tiap kelompok. Data dianalisis dengan uji t. Hasil penelitian didapatkan rerata kadar Hb dan Ht pada kelompok penjepitan 3 menit setelah lahir lebih tinggi daripada penjepitan 1 menit. Terdapat perbedaan kadar Hb yang bermakna antara kelompok penjepitan 3 menit setelah lahir daripada 1 menit dengan nilai P=0,004.  Ada terdapat perbedaan Ht yang bermakna antara kelompok penjepitan 3 menit dan 1 menit dengan nilai P=0,001. Kesimpulan penelitian ini ialah kadar Hb dan Ht lebih baik pada penjepitan tali pusat ditunda 3 menit setelah lahir dibandingkan dengan penjepitan 1 menit setelah lahir.Kata kunci: hemoglobin, hematokrit, penjepitan tali pusat AbstractThe newborns contain 80 ml of blood from the placenta in 1 minute after birth and 100 ml in 3 minute after birth. This volume supply 40 to 50 mg/kg of extra iron to have 75 mg/kg of body iron baby full-term that can prevent iron deficiency in the first year of life. Therefore, cutting the umbilical cord too soon after birth will reduce the iron of content about 15 to 30%, whereas when delayed 3 minute its can increase the volume red blood cells about 58%. The objective of this study was to prove the difference of hemoglobin and hematocrit level between 3 minutes and 1 minute cord clamping.  Experimental research was conducted with post-test only control group design of 36 newborns. Data were analyzed by t-test. The result of this study showed that the mean of hemoglobin and hematocrit level in 3 minutes of clamp are higher  than 1 minute of clamp.There was a significant difference of hemoglobin level between 3 minutes cord clamping group and 1 minute cord clamping group with p value is 0.004. There was also a significant difference of hematocrit level between 3 minutes cord clamping group and 1 minute cord clamping group with p value is 0.001. The conclusion is the hemoglobin and hematocrit level are better in cord clamping delayed in 3 minutes after birth than clamping in 1 minute after birth. Nosocomial infection is a major problem in hospitals around the world. To minimize the risk of infection in hospitals and other healthcare facilities, cough etiquette has to be applied. Thus, good situation awareness and the understanding why cough etiquette is important are necessary. The purpose of this study was to find out the effective education on cough etiquette on hospital security personnel’s and janitors’ situation awareness on cough etiquette. This research study followed quasy experimental design with pretest and post test control group design. The sampling technique was purposive sampling involving 24 respondents for experimental group and 27 respondents for the control group. The analysis of the data employed Wilcoxon test and it employed Mann Whitney test to find out the difference of independent variable medians. Questionnaires were used to gather data collection. The result of the analysis presented a mean of 97.7 on the post-test of control group and a mean of 116.3 on the post-test of treatment group. Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney tests resulted   p = 0.001 ( < 0.05 ), which meant there were significant differences. Education on cough etiquette is effective to raise hospital security personnel and the janitors’ awareness on cough etiquette situation. Bangladesh Med J. 2018 May; 47 (2): 35-37
