This study resolves the rebus of identifying the unknown engraver not mentioned in any text of glyptic, nor testified by casts of gems and glass pastes, which signs POZZI three intaglios and two cameos, almost all unpublished, and which demonstrate great skill. This is the renowned Tuscan Francesco Pozzi (1790-1844), sculptor in Florence and Rome, and wax modeler. Its varied activity is reconstructed, then both the numerous and prestigious commissions and the five high quality gems are analyzed. An intaglio reproduces the famous painting by Jacques-Louis David, with Napoleon Bonaparte at the Passo del Gran S. Bernardo, two cameos portray the dukes of Modena and Reggio, Francesco IV and his wife Maria Beatrice Vittoria, an intaglio depicts Leopold I king of the Belgians and another an unidentified male bust.

This study was conducted to investigate the deposition of several mineral elements and the mRNA levels of mineral-related genes across different tissues of cherry valley ducks. The contents of magnesium (Mg), potassium (K), zinc (Zn), and selenium (Se) in ducks’ breast muscle, thigh muscle, liver, skin, and tibia at the age of 0, 21, 35, 49, and 63 days, respectively, were measured using an atomic fluorescence spectrophotometer, while the mRNA levels of mineral-related genes were detected by qRT-PCR. The results revealed that the dynamics of Mg and K were generally similar in each tissue, with a significant positive correlation (p < 0.05). In the breast muscle, thigh muscle, and liver, the contents of almost all mineral elements reached their peak values (p < 0.05) at the age of 49 to 63 days. Interestingly, the expression of most mineral-related genes was the highest at birth (p < 0.05). In addition, there was a significant negative correlation between the expression of ATP1A1 and the deposition of K (r = −0.957, p < 0.05), and a similar result was found for the expression of ATP8 and the deposition of Zn (r = −0.905, p < 0.05). Taken together, Mg and K could be used as joint indicators for the precise breeding of the high-quality strain of cherry valley ducks, while the age of 49 to 63 days could be used as the reference for the best marketing age. In addition, ATP1A1 and ATP8 could be used as the key genes to detect K and Zn, respectively. Hence, the findings of this study can be used to improve the production and breeding efficiency of high-quality meat ducks.

A number of literature reports have shown that multi-view clustering can acquire a better performance on complete multi-view data. However, real-world data usually suffers from missing some samples in each view and has a small number of labeled samples. Additionally, almost all existing multi-view clustering models do not execute incomplete multi-view data well and fail to fully utilize the labeled samples to reduce computational complexity, which precludes them from practical application. In view of these problems, this paper proposes a novel framework called Semi-supervised Multi-View Clustering with Weighted Anchor Graph Embedding (SMVC_WAGE), which is conceptually simple and efficiently generates high-quality clustering results in practice. Specifically, we introduce a simple and effective anchor strategy. Based on selected anchor points, we can exploit the intrinsic and extrinsic view information to bridge all samples and capture more reliable nonlinear relations, which greatly enhances efficiency and improves stableness. Meanwhile, we construct the global fused graph compatibly across multiple views via a parameter-free graph fusion mechanism which directly coalesces the view-wise graphs. To this end, the proposed method can not only deal with complete multi-view clustering well but also be easily extended to incomplete multi-view cases. Experimental results clearly show that our algorithm surpasses some state-of-the-art competitors in clustering ability and time cost.

Periodic bathymetric surveys are carried out to define quantity of sedimented material in reservoirs, as well as to determine the areas most endangered by the silting process. Such surveys in the Republic of Macedonia were started as an obligatory and regular practice in the seventies of the last century, immediately after the formation of the larger artificial lakes. These were carried out for almost all reservoirs in the country and it can be said that there is already a sufficient amount of data on some of them that can serve as a basis for high quality analyses of the silting trend of the reservoirs and of the extent to which erosion is affecting the basin area. This paper provides a review of the results from the latest field surveys and analyses of changes in the configuration of the Shpilje reservoir bottom, carried out in the period 2014 to 2016.

In the wake of the Crimean War, the upper military circles in Russia changed their thinking with regard to firearms. General Milyutin became Minister of War. It was the time when Alexander II reigned over Russia. In 1856, the calibre of Russian firearms was reduced to 6 inches, or 15.24 mm. The process of re-equipping the Russian army with M1856 rifles using expanding Minié bullets was launched. These rifles demonstrated that the percussion systems had reached the limit of their capacity for improvement. Nothing else could be improved in terms of their firing speed. Despite the resistance of the conservative military circles, Milyutin encouraged new inventions, and the 1860s became a period of experimentation with firearms. Some new cartridge systems were introduced. The high-quality M1856 percussion rifle was not destined to take part in war times, but the Russian army had been fully equipped with it for a short period of time. Almost all systems of the 1860s were based on this rifle. Over 10 systems of firearms with an internal needle fuse were proposed to the weapons commission. In 1866, the Englishman Karle proposed his own system with an internal needle fuse. Krnka, Berdan I, and Berdan II came next. After 1866, the Terry-Norman, Karle, and Krnka rifles entered the Russian army. These systems were developed on the basis of the 6-line M1856/58 rifle. The latter was converted into a rear-loading rifle. In 1869, the Krnka rifle was chosen as the main system, which became the main weapon of the Russian army in the following years. At the beginning of 1877, there were 613,297 Krnka rifles, 150,868 Karle rifles, 17,810 Berdan I and 325,254 Berdan II rifles in the Russian army.

The labor market in Kazakhstan, as it is changing around the world and is probably transforming beyond recognition in a year. A pandemic dictates its own rules to the labor market: many companies have begun to cut staff costs, parting even with valuable employees. In conditions of forced self-isolation during the coronavirus epidemic, for many people, the problem of employment came first. People working in quarantined sectors are left without means of subsistence and are forced to look for a place in other areas. The decline in quantitative indicators since the beginning of March is observed in almost all sectors. Previously, it was possible to work for decades by the same standards, but now approaches to work change several times a year. In conditions when many competencies quickly become obsolete, “flexible skills” come to the fore - logical and critical thinking, creativity, adaptability to changes, the ability to build relationships with people and solve complex problems. The pandemic will bring significant changes to the labor market. According to the authors, self-development and the acquisition of new skills will be the only trend in the modern labor market. In order to successfully overcome the crisis, it is necessary to provide affordable financing for business and the public. In the conditions of this kind of crisis, it is necessary to increase the responsibility and coordination of all state bodies and their orientation towards job creation and employment. To this end, it is proposed to strengthen the functions of state bodies in facilitating information support to business in times of crisis. It is also necessary to ensure the complete digitalization of public services and the provision of high-quality and relevant data on the labor market to the population.

Warren Hastings composed occasional short verse translations and imitations of classical Latin texts over many years, perhaps particularly in later life. Almost all extant examples are recorded in autograph in the multiple volumes of his diaries now in the British Library (in some cases, elsewhere too). They have never been printed nor given scholarly attention, but are of very high quality. This note contextualizes and provides transcriptions of six of these works, viz. translations and imitations of Lucan (two passages), Horace (three odes), and Catullus.

The literature review shows that today any substance, and hence any drug, can be in such physical states as solid, liquid, gas and plasma. The classification of pharmaceutical forms of drugs, from which it follows that presently the drugs are produced in solid, liquid, soft and gaseous “dosage forms”. It is shown that the modern quality standards of drugs do not guarantee the presence of a single aggregate physical properties of all drugs produced in the same dosage forms. It is established that modern quality standards of drugs allow the production of drugs in the same pharmaceutical forms, but with different concentrations of all ingredients and with different physical and chemical properties. The ranges of concentration values of the dissolved ingredients and indicators of acid (alkaline) and osmotic activity of high-quality drugs from different pharmacological groups produced by different pharmaceutical companies in the form of “Solutions for injection” are given. From the above examples, it follows that at present qualitative “Solutions for injections” have an acidity value in the range of pH 2-12 and an osmotic activity value in the range of 0-3900 mOsmol/l of water. In addition to this, it is shown that modern drugs prepared in the pharmaceutical form “Solutions for injection” and considered to be of high quality, have a concentration of dissolved ingredients in the range of 0.01-100 %. Therefore, almost all modern medicines produced in the dosage form “Solutions for injection” have different mechanical, physical, chemical and/or physico-chemical properties that can change their pharmacological activity. Examples are given of how different concentrations of ingredients and osmotic activity of certain drugs in the dosage form “Solutions for injections” affect the severity of their local action on tissues in the range from short-term inflammation of tissues to their necrosis. It is proved that modern “solutions for injections” do not guarantee the safety of local interaction with viable tissues of the human body. The technologies of improving the safety of injection of modern “Solutions for injection” and technology to prevent tissue necrosis with “wrong” injections of drugs (by accident, ignorance, ignorance, mistake) are listed.

Java islands as one of the colonies on the European nations in Asia, had several changes since the Dutch Government liquidated the operation. This condition was caused by the change of the political constellation in Europe since the end of this century. As we knew that since 1795 till 1813, the Netherland was dominated by the French. From the year 1795, in January, the Bataafsche Republic was established in Netherland, supported by French after the governor (Staathouder) escaped by leaving his country to London. The result of this fact, the changes were happened in all provinces in Netherland and in almost of its colonies, included in Java. The form of the government was changed because of the implementation of the French Revolutionary ideas. How to overlook the colonies were different compared by the VOC era.  In VOC era, East India had been looked as the economical point of view. In the other hand, in Bataafsche Republic era, it had been considered as the integrated territory of French. So, there was a different management of both. During the VOC era, East India was placed under the Ministry of trade and colony regions. Then, in the Bataafsche Republic era, it was located under the Ministry of Maritime Army and the Colonies. The status of this colony was totally changed. The consequence of this change, there were a reformation of the social, politic and economic. The influences of the liberation idea, the main idea of French Revolution, was applied in almost all the regulations of its colony regions. Human rights guaranteed the rights not only as individual but also as a member of society. The Governor General deliberated all slaves in Java and others several islands to be trained as the soldiers. From the French point of view, Java would be set as centre of the French strategy in the effort to reoccupy India as before. According to Napoleon Bonaparte, India had natural resources more than the riches of all European kingdoms. So, the position of Java island geographically was very important because of his location was directly in front of India Ocean, and the military troupes could directly attack India.  Java which was very rich of the natural resources as wood as the basic materials of ship industry, potassium nitrate, as the materials of ammunition and the Javanese who had the very special endurance were considered by the Emperor as a very ideal island. The Javanese could compete the Sepoy soldiers, the Indian indigenous soldiers formed by the British. So, Napoleon Bonaparte considered that the Javanese would be prepared to realize the Napoleonic strategy. Java had to be saved from the British attack.

Cassava is produced by more than 80% of farming households and is an important contributor to gross domestic product (GDP) in Liberia. It is therefore important to assess the status of cassava processing into food and other products. A total of one hundred and sixty (160) well-structured questionnaires were used for the collection of information from eight counties, with twenty respondents from each county. It was found out that all the counties lack adequate modern cassava processing machines, with almost all cassava processing operations being done with rudimentary equipment. Gari and wet fufu are common products in Liberian markets, with no high-quality cassava flour (HQCF) or derivatives. Consequently, user and gender friendly processing machines were installed in six established modern cassava processing centres, and new cassava products, such as fufu powder, tapioca, and HQCF with its value-added products (10% bread and pastries), were introduced. This upscaling will enhance the cassava value chain in Liberia with improvement in livelihoods, especially for vulnerable women and unemployed youth.
