Abstrak This study aims to discuss trends in the use of village funds. Basically, the village government is obliged to prosper the village community with a village fund budget that has been channeled directly by the central government because the village government is directly in contact with rural communities. However, in line with the village budget allocation to the village government more and more fraud has occurred. In the study, measuring the level of fraud on the use of village funds, in this study used two variables, the dependent variable (the tendency of fraud on the use of village funds) and the variable free (the nature of love of money and spiritual intelligence). The results of the regression calculations show that Love of Money (X1) has a partial effect on the Fraud Tendency on the use of village funds. Whereas Spiritual Intelligence (X2) has no partial effect on the Fraud Tendency on the use of village funds.

This work presents a VSAT based approach for extending mobile communication access to rural communities in developing countries using VSAT and satellite technology. The rural areas are clustered into village community cells with each cluster being served by a non regenerative bidirectional repeater system. The telecommunication technology of choice is the GSM standard. Traffic from the rural areas is collated together at the access point which serves as an interface between the village community cells and the satellite. The access points perform a frequency translation moving the signal from the GSM band to the satellite band at the transmitter and vice versa at the receiver. The system maximizes the advantage of satellite communication technology over other types in linking remote areas to urban centers that are geographically far apart. The satellite then links the village cell to the operator’s network via a dedicated BTS in the urban area. The system has the advantage of being modular, scalable and solar powered due to the low traffic from rural areas.

This paper explores the effects of certain aspects of verb input on verb acquisition. It has been observed that the timing of a verb model affects children's learning of the verb (Tomasello & Kruger, 1992). It has also been observed that the focus of the event to which the verb refers affects the argument structure children assign to the verb (Pinker, 1989). This experiment investigated the interaction between the timing of verb models and the focus of the events to which they refer. Thirty children aged from 2;3 to 3;6 heard two novel verbs, one movement focused and the other result focused. Half heard the verbs before the event (impending condition) and half after it (completed condition). An interaction of verb timing and verb focus was found. The movement verb was learned better in the impending condition and the result verb in the completed condition. The contribution of this finding to our understanding of the processes involved in verb acquisition is considered.

Standardized, norm-referenced assessments of young children’s learning and development pose a number of challenges when used with Indigenous children, beginning with the very notion of the construct “early childhood” that runs counter to some Indigenous ways of knowing and being. Indigenous community leaders and knowledge keepers reject the idea that all children should develop according to a homogenizing universal standard that is not grounded in specific culturally based goals and practices surrounding children’s development and does not respect each child’s unique character. Three key problems arise with creating appropriate assessment of Indigenous young children’s learning and development: 1) assessment in early childhood programs is often done from the perspective of whether children are on track to be ready for school; 2) school systems, early childhood programs, and practitioners face a barrage of pressure to measure children’s “progress” against universalist norms derived from Euro-Western ways of knowing and goals for children’s development; and 3) knowledge of diverse Indigenous young children’s varied lived experiences in today’s urban and rural communities is extremely limited. This paper discusses these obstacles and draws from the author’s many years of collaborating with Indigenous children, families, and communities to co-create culturally relevant assessment in a good way.
