Background: Ice cream is a processed milk product that is made by freezing and mixing raw materials together. The making of ice cream uses additives that are developer ingredients, stabilizers and additional coloring agents.Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the replacement of Rhodamin B as a food additive in ice cream.Method: This type of research is an experimental nature using a completely randomized design (CRD) which is a study of 3 treatments and 3 repetitions. The object of the study was ice cream which was sold by 3 ice cream vendors, with each trader taking ice cream samples. The research method is to use thin layer chromatography test followed by the development of research namely organoleptic testing and variance testing.Results: The results of the study showed that there was an influence on the acceptability of ice cream given the coloring of dragon fruit. While the color (p = 0.102) in making ice cream from durian fruit did not show a difference in acceptability in the formulations of 5%, 10%, and 15%.Conclusion: The most appropriate formulation for the acceptability of ice cream flavor is a 10% formulation with the addition of dragon fruit to the aroma, taste and texture. It is expected that consumers will be able to recognize food and beverages sold that contain Rhodamin B and for ice cream manufacturers it is better to use coloring from fruits in making ice cream so that

Feed broiler is one important factor that is very supportive of other factors when broiler maintenance. One way to reduce the use of maize is to use alternative raw materials of wheat. Wheat can be obtained and the price is cheaper than corn but contains a high Non Starch Polysaccharide, while the poultry digestive tool is not able to digest such crude fiber because it has no crude fiber-breaking enzymes so it needs enzyme addition to the efficient use of nutrient feed. The research method used is the experimental method using Completely Randomized Design consisting of 4 treatments 5 replications. The treatment is as follows P0 (without wheat and xylanase); P1 (substitution of maize with 20% wheat); P2 (maize substitution with 40% wheat) and P3 (substitution of maize with 60% wheat). The observed variables are metabolic energy of pseudo-feed and metabolically correlated false energy n. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) if there are differences among the treatments followed by Duncan's Test. The results showed that the use of wheat with a xylanase enzyme supplementation as a substitute corn provides highly significant effect (P<0.01) on the apparent metabolize energy of feed and apparent metabolize energy corrected N. The addition of xylanase enzymes in feed with the substitution of wheat by 20 percent produce the best feed metabolizable energy among other treatments.  Keywords : Broiler, Wheat, Enzymes, Energy, Feed

Not infectious disease (PTM) have become a health problem for every country. One of the main contributors who use PTM is food control, by consuming foods that contain inulin (bengkuang tubers) and anthocyanins (dragon fruit). Intermittent food products consisting of velva become more effective because in one product already has a lot of special nutritional content of inulin and anthocyanin fibers. The design of this study was experimental with a completely randomized design (CRD). The research method uses hedonic tests, spectrophotometry for anthocyanin levels, and literature tests for inulin fiber levels. This study involved 30 panelists who were apparently students of the Nutrition Department of the Poltekkes Bandung. This product formulation consists of three dragons and bengkuang, which is counterpart 1 (30%: 70%), counterpart 2 (70%: 30%), and counterpart 3 (50%: 50%). The hedonic test results showed that the level of preference consisted of counterpart 2 and the Kruskal-Wallis test results showed differences between the aspects of color, taste, and aroma with a value of p <α and also none in the design of the texture with p> α. The level of anthocyanin product serving is 6.04 mg and can fulfill 81% of the anthocyanin requirement by consuming two serving sizes. While the level of inulin per serving amounted to 2.1 g and can meet the needs of inulin at least a day from 350% snack.

The use of colorants in the dried noodle manufactures is an effort of product diversification. Besides of being used as a natural coloring agent, this peel extract is also used to improve nutritional value of the expected product. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of red dragon fruit peel extract on the physical quality of dried noodle.  The study was conducted by using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method with one factor, namely concentration of red dragon fruit peel extract (N1 = 10 ml, N2 = 15 ml, N3 = 20 ml, N4 = 25 ml, N5 = 30 ml).  The observations of its physical quality consisted of water absorption, solid loss during cooking, and organoleptic tests (aroma and color).  The best quality of dried noodle was obtained by using 30 ml red dragon fruit peel extract (N5) with physical properties, namely DSA levels of 351.92%, solid loss during cooking 4.78%, aroma 3.79 (like) and color 3.89 (like).

ABSTRAK  Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian bubuk daun Moringa oleifera (MO) terhadap kuantitas dan kualitas semen sapi peranakan ongole (PO). Metode penelitian menggunakan percobaan lapang dengan rancangan acak lengkap dengan tiga perlakuan pemberian MO sebesar 0 kg/ekor/hari (P1); 0,05 kg/ekor/hari (P2) dan 0,1 kg/ekor/hari (P3). Analsis data menggunakan one way analysis of variance. Masing-masing perlakuan terdiri atas empat ekor dengan tiga periode pengamatan sebagai ulangan, yaitu periode pertama dan ketiga tanpa MO, dan periode kedua diberikan MO pada P2 dan P3. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa volume dan pH semen perlakuan P1, P2 dan P3 tidak berbeda semua periode pengamatan. Motilitas massa spermatozoa P2 dan P3 periode kedua dan ketiga menunjukan nilai +++ berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dibandingkan dengan P1 (++); motilitas individu  perlakuan P1 menunjukkan nilai terendah 60,56±2,94 % (P<0,05) dibandingkan P2 dan P3 pada periode kedua dan ketiga (75,50±2,29 dan 72,50±2,34%). Konsentrasi spermatozoa P2 dan P3 periode kedua dan ketiga menunjukkan rata-rata  >1.350 juta/ml berbeda nyata (P<0,05) daripada P1 (876±152juta/ml), sedangkan total spermatozoa motil menunjukkan nilai tertinggi 5.647±829 juta/ml pada P3 periode kedua.Viabilitas spermatozoa P2 dan P3 menunjukkan nilai >88-89 % beda nyata (P<0,05) daripada P1 (<84 %) pada periode kedua dan ketiga, sedangkan nilai abnormalitas spermatozoa yang terbaik adalah P2 sebesar 4,30% pada periode kedua dan P3 sebesar 5,33% pada periode ketiga. Disimpulkan pemberian bubuk daun MO dengan dosis 0,1 kg/ekor/hari dapat memperbaiki kuantitas dan kualitas semen (viabilitas dan total spermatozoa motil) sapi pejantan PO.Kata kunci:  kuantitas dan kualitas semen, Moringa oleifera, sapi pejantan ABSTRACTThe research aimed to determine the effect of Moringa oleifera (MO) leaf powder on the quantity and quality of semen of ongole crossbreed. The research method used was a field experiment with a completely randomized design with three treatments giving MO of 0 kg/head/day (P1); 0.05 kg/head/day (P2) and 0.1 kg/head/day (P3). Each treatment consisted of four heads with three periods of observation as replications, namely the first and third periods without MO, and the second period was given MO on P2 and P3. Data analysis used a one-way analysis of variance. The results showed that the volume and pH of semen treated P1, P2, and P3 didn’t different in all observation periods. The second and third period spermatozoa mass motility of P2 and P3 showed that the value of +++ was significantly different (P<0.05) compared to P1 (++); Individual motility of P1 treatment showed the lowest value 60,56±2,94 % (P<0.05) compared to P2 and P3 in the second and third periods (75,50±2,29 and 72,50±2,34%). The second and third periods of P2 and P3 spermatozoa concentrations showed an average of >1,350 million/cc significantly different (P<0.05) than P1 (876±152 million/cc), while the total motile spermatozoa showed the highest value of 5,647±829 million/cc in the second period P3. The spermatozoa viability of P2 and P3 showed values >88-89% significantly different (P<0.05) than P1 (<84%) in the second and third periods, while the best spermatozoa abnormalities were P2 at 4.30% in the second period and P3 at 5.33% in the third period. It was concluded that the giving of MO leaf powder at a dose of 0,1 kg/head/day could improve the quantity and quality of semen (viability and total motile spermatozoa) of Ongole Crossbreed bulls. ABSTRACTThe manufacture of food products in an instant form can reduce obstacles in storage and distribution. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of instant yellow rice produced using a cabinet dryer. The research method used was a non factorial Complete Randomized Design, with comparative treatment of rice and cooking water volume (1: 1,1; 1: 1,2; and 1: 1,3) as well as the type of yellow rice seasoning used (instant seasoning and processed seasoning). The best treatment is obtained on instant yellow rice produced using processed seasonings with a comparison of raw materials with cooking water volume of 1: 1,3. This product has a yield characteristic of 98.29%, rehydration time 4.32 minutes, kamba density 0.351 g/ml, water absorption 64.78%, development volume 174.51%, rehydration ratio 3.44, chroma value 30.29 and hue value 96.38.Keywords: instant yellow rice, rehydration time, drying, characteristics ABSTRAKPembuatan produk makanan dalam bentuk instan dapat menekan kendala dalam penyimpanan serta distribusi . Tujuan  penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui karakteristik nasi kuning instan yang diproduksi dengan menggunakan cabinet dryer. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap non faktorial, dengan perlakuan perbandingan beras dan volume air pemasakan (1:1,1; 1:1,2; dan 1:1,3) serta jenis bumbu nasi kuning yang digunakan (bumbu instan dan bumbu olahan). Perlakuan terbaik diperoleh pada nasi kuning instan yang diproduksi menggunakan bumbu olahan dengan perbandingan bahan baku dengan volume air pemasakan sebanyak 1:1,3. Produk ini memiliki karakteristik rendemen 98,29%, waktu rehidrasi 4,32 menit, densitas kamba 0,351 g/ml, daya serap air 64,78%, volume pengembangan 174,51%, rasio rehidrasi 3,44, nilai chroma 30,29 dan nilai hue 96,38.Kata kunci: nasi kuning instan, waktu rehidrasi, pengeringan, karakteristik

The number of studies on edible coatings that are used for extending the shelf life of fruits has steadily increased. For this purpose, it is necessary to choose raw materials with characteristics that maintain product quality. The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of coatings of Chlorella sp. on the post-harvest conservation of ‘Tommy Atkins’ mango fruits. The experiment was conducted using a completely randomized design, and spray treatments (T) with 0%, 1%, 2%, 3%, or 4% of Chlorella sp. were applied to the fruits. After the treatments, the fruits were stored for 28 days (21 days at 10 °C and 42% relative humidity and 7 days at 25 °C and 42% relative humidity), and were analyzed on day 28. There was higher pulp firmness in fruits as the concentration of Chlorella sp. was increased, and the concentration of ascorbic acid was comparatively higher (22.17%) in fruits treated with 3% Chlorella sp. The percentage of soluble solids and the soluble solids/titratable acidity ratio were decreased as the coating concentrations were decreased. The use of Chlorella sp. at 1% and 2% allowed fruit maturation without compromising fruit quality attributes during the 28-day storage period.

Abstract Liquid smoke has many benefits, especially in the food, fishery, timber, and plantation industries. It is used as a preservative or durability increased and aroma and taste addition in the food and fishery industry. In the wood industry, liquid smoke can resist termite attacks, while in the plantation industry, it functions as a latex coagulant containing antifungal, antibacterial, and antioxidants that can improve rubber product’s quality. Most of the rubber farmers in Bangka Belitung still use alum as a coagulant to coagulate their latex. However, alum coagulant can reduce the quality of the processed rubber material (bokar). The reason farmers use alum is that raw materials are cheap, therefore getting coagulant raw materials at low prices and not pollute the environment with a less moderate aroma/odor caused by non-recommended coagulant materials (alum) are needed. This study aims to apply liquid smoke as a natural coagulant in latex freezing. The research method used a Completely Randomized Design, with liquid smoke concentration replicated three times. Parameters observed were clotting time speed and organoleptic test for odor during 14 days of storage. The results showed that the best concentration of liquid smoke was 15% no odor and a clotting time of 8.23 minutes.

The purpose of this research is to determine the optimal dose of the addition of red spinach powder to artificial feed on the brightness of clown loach. This research was conducted at Aquaculture Laboratory Building 4 Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences of Universitas Padjadjaran from April to May 2020. This research method is experimental with a Completely Randomized Design consisting of four treatments and three replications. The red spinach powder addition treatment used 0%, 2%, 4%, and 6% of the feed amount. The parameters observed are color value as primary data by using Toca Color Finder, while the growth, survival rate, and water quality as support data. Color assessment results were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis test, if there were significant differences, Z test would be performed. Growth data and survival rates were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Because the F test results were not significantly different, the Duncan test was not carried out. The results showed that the addition of  6% red spinach powder is the best treatment with an increased color brightness value of 5,63.

ABSTRACT The research was conducted at Mrs. Sripurwanti's farm in Rejotangan Village, Rejotangan Sub-district, Tulung Agung Regency. The research was conducted from 1 March to 1 April 2017. The aim of the research to determine the difference in the solution of Vitamin B Complex to the results of domestic chicken include hatchability, mortality and hatching weight. Research material using selected 225 eggs of chicken eggs and Vitamin B Complex as many as 30 grains. The research method used is experiments with Completely Randomized Design (RAL). The study was divided into 5 treatments and 5 replications per repeat consisting of 9 eggs. Treatment consists of the addition of Vitamin B complex as much as 0, 45 mg, 90 mg, 135 mg, and 180 mg The results are expected can provide information about alternative moisture enhancer ingredients namely Vitamin B Komplek. The results showed that vitamin B complex was not significant (P> 0.05) to hatchability, live eggs and die 2nd candling , mortality, and hatching weight. Vitamin B complex has significant effect (P <0,05) on hatchability and mortality based on candling to 2. Result of the research can be concluded that giving Vitamin B Complex as much as 45 mg deserves to be additive addition of humidity because it can increase the percentage of hatchability by 15%

Heavy metal is a very dangerous pollutant waste for it cannot be destroyed (non-degradable) and over time it will accumulate in the ocean. This study aims to determine the lead content in sediment, water and algal thallus as well as to determine the algae growth that has been treated with lead. The research method used was a completely randomized design (CRD) which consisted of 3 treatments, using different treatments for each sample. The highest metal content obtained in the sediment was 5,124 ppm, in the water was 0.120 ppm, and in the algae thallus was 4,816 ppm respectively. The results showed that Halimeda opuntia algae can grow even in an environment contaminated with lead heavy metal and can become a bioremediation agent by absorbing lead heavy metal. Keywords: Halimeda opuntia, Lead Heavy Metal, Algae Culture, Bioremediation             Logam berat merupakan salah satu limbah pencemar yang sangat berbahaya karena tidak dapat dihancurkan (non degradable) dan dapat terakumulasi di perairan laut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan timbal pada sedimen, air dan thallus alga yang dikultur serta mengetahui pertumbuhan alga yang telah diberi perlakuan timbal. Metode penelitian mengunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 3 perlakuan, dengan menggunakan perlakuan yang berbeda pada tiap sampel dan kontrol. Kandungan logam tertinggi yang didapatkan pada sedimen yaitu sebesar 5,124 ppm, pada air sebesar 0,120 ppm, dan pada thallus alga sebesar 4,816 ppm. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu alga Halimeda opuntia dapat bertumbuh walaupun dalam lingkungan yang tercemar logam berat timbal serta mampu menjadi agen bioremediasi dengan menyerap logam berat timbal. Kata kunci: Halimeda opuntia, Logam BeratTimbal, Kultur Alga, Bioremediasi
