ABSTRAK  Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian bubuk daun Moringa oleifera (MO) terhadap kuantitas dan kualitas semen sapi peranakan ongole (PO). Metode penelitian menggunakan percobaan lapang dengan rancangan acak lengkap dengan tiga perlakuan pemberian MO sebesar 0 kg/ekor/hari (P1); 0,05 kg/ekor/hari (P2) dan 0,1 kg/ekor/hari (P3). Analsis data menggunakan one way analysis of variance. Masing-masing perlakuan terdiri atas empat ekor dengan tiga periode pengamatan sebagai ulangan, yaitu periode pertama dan ketiga tanpa MO, dan periode kedua diberikan MO pada P2 dan P3. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa volume dan pH semen perlakuan P1, P2 dan P3 tidak berbeda semua periode pengamatan. Motilitas massa spermatozoa P2 dan P3 periode kedua dan ketiga menunjukan nilai +++ berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dibandingkan dengan P1 (++); motilitas individu  perlakuan P1 menunjukkan nilai terendah 60,56±2,94 % (P<0,05) dibandingkan P2 dan P3 pada periode kedua dan ketiga (75,50±2,29 dan 72,50±2,34%). Konsentrasi spermatozoa P2 dan P3 periode kedua dan ketiga menunjukkan rata-rata  >1.350 juta/ml berbeda nyata (P<0,05) daripada P1 (876±152juta/ml), sedangkan total spermatozoa motil menunjukkan nilai tertinggi 5.647±829 juta/ml pada P3 periode kedua.Viabilitas spermatozoa P2 dan P3 menunjukkan nilai >88-89 % beda nyata (P<0,05) daripada P1 (<84 %) pada periode kedua dan ketiga, sedangkan nilai abnormalitas spermatozoa yang terbaik adalah P2 sebesar 4,30% pada periode kedua dan P3 sebesar 5,33% pada periode ketiga. Disimpulkan pemberian bubuk daun MO dengan dosis 0,1 kg/ekor/hari dapat memperbaiki kuantitas dan kualitas semen (viabilitas dan total spermatozoa motil) sapi pejantan PO.Kata kunci:  kuantitas dan kualitas semen, Moringa oleifera, sapi pejantan ABSTRACTThe research aimed to determine the effect of Moringa oleifera (MO) leaf powder on the quantity and quality of semen of ongole crossbreed. The research method used was a field experiment with a completely randomized design with three treatments giving MO of 0 kg/head/day (P1); 0.05 kg/head/day (P2) and 0.1 kg/head/day (P3). Each treatment consisted of four heads with three periods of observation as replications, namely the first and third periods without MO, and the second period was given MO on P2 and P3. Data analysis used a one-way analysis of variance. The results showed that the volume and pH of semen treated P1, P2, and P3 didn’t different in all observation periods. The second and third period spermatozoa mass motility of P2 and P3 showed that the value of +++ was significantly different (P<0.05) compared to P1 (++); Individual motility of P1 treatment showed the lowest value 60,56±2,94 % (P<0.05) compared to P2 and P3 in the second and third periods (75,50±2,29 and 72,50±2,34%). The second and third periods of P2 and P3 spermatozoa concentrations showed an average of >1,350 million/cc significantly different (P<0.05) than P1 (876±152 million/cc), while the total motile spermatozoa showed the highest value of 5,647±829 million/cc in the second period P3. The spermatozoa viability of P2 and P3 showed values >88-89% significantly different (P<0.05) than P1 (<84%) in the second and third periods, while the best spermatozoa abnormalities were P2 at 4.30% in the second period and P3 at 5.33% in the third period. It was concluded that the giving of MO leaf powder at a dose of 0,1 kg/head/day could improve the quantity and quality of semen (viability and total motile spermatozoa) of Ongole Crossbreed bulls. Abstract This research aims to study and analyze the effect of adding turmeric flour (Curcuma domestica Val) in the rations on the performance of 70 weeks old Isa Brown strain of laying hens. The research method used in this study was an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) step with five treatments and four replications. The number of chickens used was as many as 40 laying hens. The treatments given to the sample were P0 = feed without giving turmeric flour (control), P1 = feed with 0.3% turmeric flour, P2 = feed with 0.5% turmeric flour, P3 = feed with 0.7% turmeric flour and treatment P4 = feed by giving turmeric flour 0,9%. The results showed that giving turmeric flour in the rations of the Isa Brown strain of laying hens affected chicken performance and egg quality. This research concludes that giving turmeric flour a percentage of 0.7% in Isa Brown’s 70-week old laying hens is the best for ration consumption, Hen Day Production, egg weight, feed conversion, and egg quality: Haught Unit, yolk egg color, yolk egg index, grading egg and egg mass. Based on the haugh unit value, all eggs produced are still in the AA grade category

ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui motilitas dan viabilitas spermatozoa semen hasil sexing kambing Peranakan Etawa (PE) dengan metode sedimentasi putih telur menggunakan pengencer yang berbeda. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah semen segar kambing Peranakan Etawa (PE) berumur 2 tahun dan bobot badan 120 kg dari Balai Besar Inseminasi Buatan (BBIB)  Singosari Malang. Metode penelitian ini yang digunakan adalah penelitian laboratorium dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL). Perlakuan terdiri dari semen sexing dengan menggunakan pengencer Andromed lapisan atas dan Andromed lapisan bawah dan Tris Aminomethan Kuning Telur lapisan atas dan Tris Aminomethan Kuning Telur lapisan bawah dengan masing-masing 10 ulangan. Variabel yang diamati adalah motilitas dan viabilitas spermatozoa semen sexing dengan pengencer yang berbeda, proses sexing menggunakan metode sedimentasi putih telur. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Analisis Varian  (ANOVA) apabila perlakuan memberikan perbedaan, maka dilanjutkan dengan Uji BNT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode sedimentasi putih telur dengan pengencer yang berbeda pada kambing Peranakan Etawa (PE) memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap motilitas dan viabilitas spermatozoa semen sexing. Motilitas dan viabilitas terbaik terdapat pada pengencer Tris aminomethan kuning telur lapisan atas sebesar 75,65%, 74,41% dan Andromed lapisan atas sebesar 65,4%, 60%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kualitas spermatozoa semen sexing kambing PE dengan menggunakan pengencer Tris aminomethan memberikan hasil terbaik terhadap motilitas dan viabilitas. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini maka disarankan agar menggunakan pengencer Tris aminomethan kuning telur sebagai pengencer sexing spermatozoa.   ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine the motility and viability of PE sperm sexing with egg white sedimentation method using different diluents. This research method used was laboratory research using a completely randomized design (CRD) treatment PE sexing sperm. The results showed that the quality of PE sperm goat with various diluents showed a significant influence (P<0,01). The variables observed were motility and viability of sperm. The data obtained were analyzed using variance analysis (ANOVA) with complete randomized design (CRD). Motility and viability at best against Tris aminomethane top layer of egg yolk 65,4% and the top layer of Andromed 75,65%, 74,41%. Based on the results it is suggested that using Tris aminomethane yolk as a diluents sexing sperm. It can be concluded that the quality of sexing sperm goat PE by using tris aminomethane diluent gives the best result on motility and viability.

<p class="MDPI17abstract"><strong>Objective: </strong>The purpose of this research was to find out the rise of spermatozoa motility of Waringin sheep which was given additional amount of PGF2α in commercial semen diluents (Andromed).</p><p class="MDPI17abstract"><strong>Methods: </strong>A total of 3 Waringin sheep aged 2-3 years were used in this study. Semen samples were collected using an artificial vagina and evaluation of the quality of the spermatozoa was carried out macroscopically and microscopically. This study used a unidirectional completely randomized design. After evaluated, semen samples were added with Andromed diluents afterwards divided into three groups treatment, K1; K2; and K3 where each group was then added with physiologic NaCl, 37,5 µg PGF2α, and 75 µg PGF2α. All of the samples were equilibrated in refrigerator for 4 hours and spermatozoa motility was examined, then after the freezing process was carried out and stored for 24 hours, the post thawing spermatozoa motility was examined. The data obtained was analyzed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and followed by Duncan test.<strong></strong></p><p class="MDPI17abstract"><strong>Results: </strong>The result of the research showed that motility of post equilibration spermatozoa (%) of Waringin sheeps at K1; K2; and K3 were 43,67±1,20; 75,00±4,00; and 82,33 ±3,18 (P&lt;0,05); and motility of post thawing spermatozoa (%) of Waringin sheeps at K1; K2; and K3 were 25,33±1,85; 49,33±3,17; dan 54,00 ±5,50 (P&lt;0,05).<strong></strong></p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>In conclusion that was the rise in motility of prefreezing spermatozoa and motility of post thawing spermatozoa of Waringin sheep which given additional amount of PGF2α on Andromed diluents.

Pork is one of the most consumption types of meat in the East Nusa Tenggara region.. Moringa leaf are one part of the plant which is known to have antimicrobial compounds.The aimof this research was to determine the influence of Moringa leaf infusion as a natural preservative to the quality of pork.This research is an experimental laboratory research and used a total of 48 samples of thigh pork (Biceps femoris). This research used a completely randomized design with factorial pattern. The first factor was concentration of infusion Moringa leaf consist of 0% (K0), 5% (K1), 10% (K2), and 15% (K3) and the second factor was time of storage consist of  0,6, 12, and 18 hours with 3 replications. The parameters of porkquality that have been examined: color, texture, odor, value in the Eber test, pH value, and total plate count (TPC) value.The results showed that the addition of Moringa leaf infusion change the color and odor. The Eber test shows the K3 group can last up to 18 hours. There was no significant effect of infusion concentration (P> 0.05) on the pH value and there was a very significant effect on the time of storage (P<0.01) on the pH value. There was a significant effect of infusion concentration (P<0.05) and very significant effect on the time of storage (P <0.01) on the TPC value. The value of TPC in the K3 group was below of the Standar Nasional Indonesia contamination limit for laying less than 12 hours at room temperature.

This research was conducted at the Laboratory of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, University of Kanjuruhan Malang, which began in March until May 2019. The purpose of this study was to study the quality of semen of Kampung Ayam Arabian funds with long stored Arabs that produce in spaces. In this study, the material used was cement of Kampung chickens and Arabic chickens which were requested from two male chickens and 2 male Arab chickens needed 1.5-2 years that had a body weight of ± 2.5 kg and each tail was accommodated 1 time per day and in one shelter done 1 ejaculation. The laboratory test method uses a completely randomized design (factorial). The research treatment is storing time 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 hours. Each payment is repeated ten times. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance. The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of shelf life on the quality of spermatozoa. After 4 hours motility is not feasible for IB, after 4 hours the viability is not feasible for all, after 4 hours the abnormality is not feasible for all.

This study was intended to determine the best temperature for hatching free-range chicken eggs in the incubator so that breeders could get more day-old chicken (DOC) with the same diversity. The research design used a completely randomized design (CRD). This study used 150 free-range chicken eggs obtained from breeders in Gunung Paok Hamlet, Perian Village, Montong Gading District, East Lombok Regency, which were divided into three treatments, namely 35 ° C - 36 ° C, 37 ° C - 38 ° C and 39. ° C - 40 ° C and five repetitions with the number of eggs repeating using 10 free-range chicken eggs. The variables observed were fertility, mortality, and hatchability of native chicken eggs. Data analysis was performed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results of the analysis of variance showed that differences in the temperature of native chicken eggs in the incubator showed a significant difference (P> 0.05) in fertility, mortality, and hatchability. The best results were obtained at an incubation temperature of 37 ° C - 38 ° C with an average hatchability of 82,88± 8,87%.

Minuman herbal cabe jamu cair merupakan inovasi produk baru yang masih perlu dikaji tentang metode pengawetannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan konsentrasi natrium benzoat dan suhu penyimpanan terhadap mutu minuman herbal cabe jamu cair. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 2 faktor yaitu pengaruh konsentrasi natrium benzoat (0 ppm, 200 ppm, 300 ppm) dan suhu penyimpanan (35 dan 45 °C). Hasil analysis of variance menunjukkan konsentrasi natrium benzoat berpengaruh nyata (P kurang dari 0,05) terhadap total padatan terlarut (TPT), warna dan total mikroba. Suhu penyimpanan berpengaruh nyata (Pkurang dari 0,05) terhadap total padatan terlarut (TPT), warna, dan total mikroba. This research aims to determine the effect of sodium benzoate addition and storage temperature on quality of piper retrofractum vahl liquid herbal drink. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 2 factors, namely the effect of sodium benzoate concentration (0 ppm, 200 ppm, 300 ppm) and storage temperature (35°C and 45°C). The results analysis of variance shows that the concentration of sodium benzoate has a significant effect (P less than 0.05) on total dissolved solids (TDS), color and total microbes. Storage temperature has a significant effect (P less than 0.05) on total dissolved solids (TDS), color and total microbes. ABSTRACTIn Vitro mutation using colchicine on 2 month of self-pollinated protocorm like bodies of Dendrobium sylvanum var. flava was conducted to determine the effects of concentration and immersion duration in colchicine on proliferation of PLBs, and to identify of ploidy variants based on stomatal variable. Research was arranged using factorial completely randomized design with three factors in three replications. The first factor was concentration of colchicine, consisted of five concentrations (0.02; 0.04, 0.06; 0.08; dan 0.1%). The second factor was duration of immersion in the colchicine, consisted of four durations (1; 24; 48; 72 hours). The third factor was proliferation medium consisted of two concentrations of BAP (1; 0.5 mg L-1). Analysis of variance showed the significant effect of colchicine treatment on percentage of survived explants. LD50 in media 1 mg L-1 BAP was obtained at a colchicine concentration of 0.069% with duration immersion of 58.19 hours. On Media 0.5 mg L-1 BAP, LD50 was obtained at colchicine concentration of 0.054% with duration immersion of 47.63 hours. Percentage of solid polyploid mutant of Dendrobium sylvanum var. flava can not be determined on MV2 generation because the stomata leaf showed chimeras based on the chloroplast number in cell guard and stomata size.Keywords: colchicines, Dendrobium sylvanum, mutation, number of chloroplast stomatal density.ABSTRAKMutasi dengan kolkisin pada PLBs hasil selfing Dendrobium sylvanum var. flava umur 2 bulan dilakukan secara In Vitro dengan tujuan mempelajari pengaruh konsentrasi kolkisin, durasi perendaman dalam kolkisin, media proliferasi terhadap pertumbuhan PLBs Dendrobium sylvanum var. flava serta mengidentifikasi variasi ploidi berdasarkan variabel stomata. Penelitian disusun dalam Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial 3 Faktor dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor pertama ialah konsentrasi kolkisin yang terdiri atas 5 taraf (0.02; 0.04, 0.06; 0.08; dan 0.1%). Faktor kedua ialah durasi perendaman yang terdiri atas 4 taraf (1; 24; 48; 72 jam). Faktor ketiga ialah media proliferasi media V&W yang ditambah BAP terdiri atas 2 taraf (1; 0.5 mg L-1). Hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan pengaruh kolkisin yang nyata terhadap variabel persentase hidup. LD50 pada media 1 mg L-1 BAP diperoleh pada konsentrasi 0.069 % dengan durasi perendaman 58.19 jam. Pada media 0.5 mg L-1 BAP, LD50 diperoleh pada konsentrasi 0.054 % dengan durasi perendaman 47.63 jam. Persentase mutan poliploid pada MV2 Dendrobium sylvanum var. flava ini belum dapat ditentukan karena stomata daunnya masih kimera berdasarkan karakter jumlah kloroplas sel penjaga dan ukuran stomata.Kata kunci: Dendrobium sylvanum, jumlah kloroplas, kerapatan stomata, kolkisin, mutasi.

This study evaluated the physical quality of complete rabbit feed containing different legumes. The study design was an experimental method using a Completely Randomized Design with four treatments and five replications. The treatments were as follows: P1 =complete feed without legume;P2 = complete feed with 10% moringa leaves meal; P3 = complete feed with 10% Leucaena leaves meal; P4 = complete feed with 10% turi leaves meal. Parameters measured were hardness, durability, density and specific gravity of rabbit pellet complete feed. Data analysis uses analysis of variance and if there is a treatment with a significant effect, then it is continued with Duncan's multiple distance test. The results showed that legumes had no significant effect on impact resistance, friction resistance, pile density, and specific gravity of the rabbit pellets produced. It was concluded that the use of legumes, namely Moringa, lamtoro and turi did not reduce the physical quality of the pellets.

Kelor (Moringa oleifera) merupakan tanaman fungsional yang mengandung nutrisi dan antioksidan. Daun tanaman ini digunakan sebagai bahan pakan karena nutriennya yang lengkap. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengkaji pengaruh substitusi tepung daun kelor dalam pakan itik pengging periode layer pada bobot karkas dan ukuran serabut muskulus pektoralis. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan 60 ekor itik dalam Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas 5 perlakuan. Pengulangan tiap perlakuan dilakukan 3 kali dengan 4 ekor itik setiap ulangan. Kelompok perlakuan terdiri atas kontrol (K0) menggunakan pakan standar; K1 menggunakan 97,5% pakan standar dan 2,5% tepung daun kelor; K2 menggunakan 95% pakan standar dan 5% tepung daun kelor; K3 menggunakan 92,5% pakan standar dan 7,5% tepung daun kelor; K4 menggunakan 90% pakan standar dan 10% tepung daun kelor. Analisis data menggunakan one-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa substitusi pakan dengan tepung daun kelor tidak memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan (P>0,05) terhadap bobot karkas, bobot muskuli pektoralis, dan ukuran serabut. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah substitusi tepung daun kelor pada pakan itik pengging periode bertelur tidak memberikan dampak pada bobot karkas, muskulus pektoralis, dan diameter serabut otot. Nutrien lebih banyak diarahkan untuk produksi telur daripada sintesis karkas.Moringa (Moringa oleifera) is a functional plant that contains lots of nutrients and antioxidants. The leaves on this plant are often used as a feed ingredient because of their potential to increase growth and cells development. The objective of the study is to examine moringa leaf inclusion meal on carcass weight and size of pectoral musculus fibrils of sexually mature laying ducks. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments. Treatment was repeated 3 times. Feeding were carried out at 07.00 WIB and 16.00 WIB. Treatment Control (K0) used standard feed; treatment 1 (K1) used 97.5% standard feed and 2.5% moringa leaf meal; treatment 2 (K2) used 95% standard feed and 5% Moringa leaf meal; treatment 3 (K3) used 92.5% standard feed and 7.5% Moringa leaf meal; treatment 4 (K4) used 90% standard feed and 10% moringa leaf meal. Data analysis used Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and regression test using SPSS version 25. The results showed that feed substitution on Moringa leaves did not have a significant effect on carcass weight and fibril size of treated and control ducks. In conclusion, substitution of Moringa leaf meal in pengging ducks feed on layer period had no impact of carcass and pectoral muscles weight, and could not change the diameter of pectoral muscles fibril. Nutrient and energy leads to egg production than carcass synthesis.
