  This study explores the use of code-mixing in Indonesian language learning used in the classroom of SMPN 7 Woja Dompu. The design of the study is a descriptive qualitative method that assigned students and teachers in SMPN 7 Woja.  Data were collected using documentation, interviews, and translations. This results of this study show Indonesian language learning in is conducted using code-mixing between Bahasa Indonesia and local language in terms of words, phrases, and clauses. Mixed-shaped code words occur in total  95 words, phrases shaped mixing 107, and code-mixing clause shaped 43. The use of code-mixing that dominate in this research is mixed in the form of code phrases. The use of code-mixing in the learning affects teachers to facilitate learning, but students accept the code-mixing as their usual daily interactions.

Proper name is a linguistic symbol that reflects people’s perspectives and thoughts over something. This study aims to reveal current naming convention in Banyumas from linguistic perspective and to describe naming classification which covers list of proper names, their sociocultural background, the meanings, and the functions. This study used descriptive-qualitative method with snowball technique for the sampling. Banyumas proper names are dominated by the use of monomorphemic form. The languages used to give proper names come from local language, Bahasa Indonesia, as well as foreign languages.The naming structure covers first name, functioning as gender and birth order markers; middle name, containing ethnical or foreign element; and last name, containing family name. Naming reference mostly uses adjectives, famous figures’ names, nature elements, flower names, puppet characters’ names, and/or numbers and symbols. Prefix su- also characterizes some proper names in Banyumas. Cultural reflection from Banyumas proper names is that the proper names chosen by the name givers, mostly parents, resemble their hope and prayer for their children. Proper name as a part of culture and folklore becomes ethnical identity for the people themselves.

<p><em>The purpose of the research are kind of code-switching and code-mixing, the factor of the result from the code-switching and code-mixing; and the role of the code-switching and code-mixing in the Indonesian lerning of the seventh F class SMP N 2 Brangsong, Kendal regency. </em><em>The research used descriptive qualitative method with </em><em>case study </em><em>approach.The research used purposive sampiling and snow ball sampling, then the technique of the collecting data by record, report, and interview. Validity test is triangulation theory.The result of the research are: the first, find out 12 code-switching in the javanese is four times and from Arab is 8 times; the second, find out the code-mixing consist of 44 times divided to be Indonesian dialeg from Jakarta is 12 times and english is 6 times; the third, factor of the result from the code-switching and code mixing from the research devided to be 5 factors (a) personal and speaker, (b) the partner of the speech, (c) the place, (d) topic, and (e) function and purpose</em><em>.</em></p>

<p>ABSTRACT<br />Novel “Ibuk” which was written in Indoesian language tends to use local language particularly Javanese. The javanese exists in the Indonesian written novel is the writer‟s style. It shows the uniqueness of Novel itself which was written by iwan Setyawan. This article aims at describing elements of javanese in applying Indonesian Language. This article employs descriptive qualitative method, which is describing javanese elements in the novel. The theory of SPEAKING Hymes (1972) was employed to analize the data. The finding shows that there are japanese language in the novel Ibuk include nasalisation, repeated words, root words, and sentences.<br />ABSTRAK<br />Bahasa Indonesia yang digunakan dalam novel Ibuk ada kecenderungan menggunakan bahasa daerah khususnya bahasa Jawa. Bahasa Jawa yang muncul dalam novel yang berbahasa Indonesia itu merupakan ciri dan gaya penulisnya. Hal itu merupakan keunikan novel Ibuk karya Iwan Setyawan. Tujuan penulisan ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan unsur-unsur bahasa Jawa dalam pemakaian bahasa Indonesia. Metode penulisan ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif yaitu mendeskripsikan unsur-unsur bahasa Jawa dalam pemakaian bahasa Indonesia novel tersebut. Adapun teori yang dipakai untuk mendeskripsikan pemakaian bahasa Jawa mengacu pada teori SPEAKING Hymes (1972). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pemakaian bahasa Jawa dalam bahasa Indonesia novel Ibuk meliputi bentuk nasalisasi, kata ulang, kata dasar, dan kalimat.<br />Kata Kunci: Nasalisasi, Kata Ulang, Kata Dasar, Kalimat</p>

AbstractThis paper aims at describing the use of deixis in Tere Liye’s novel called“Daun yang Jatuh Tak Pernah Membenci Angin”. The method used inthis writing is descriptive qualitative method. The data were collectedusing reading method and writing technique. The data consist of sentencescontaining deixis of persona, deixis of space, and deixis of time. It was found that there are 992 deixis which consist of 879 deixis of persona, 82 deixis of space, and 31 deixis of time. Such study on deixis has an implication on Indonesian language learning in high school class XII, especially in editing a novel. It is due to the fact that deixis relates to the choice of words and the use of effective sentences. Therefore, the teachers should manage to create its learning scenario. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pemakaian deiksis dalam novel Daun yang Jatuh Tak Pernah Membenci Angin karya Tere Liye. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode simak dan teknik catat. Data penelitian merupakan satuan lingual berupa kalimat-kalimat yang mengadung deiksis persona, deiksis ruang, dan deiksis waktu. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan sebanyak 992 deiksis, yang terdiri atas deiksis persona sejumlah 879, deiksis ruang sejumlah 82, dan deiksis waktu sejumlah 31 buah. Kajian deiksis dalam penelitian ini berimplikasi terhadap pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di SMA kelas XII, khususnya pada pembelajaran menyunting novel. Hal ini disebabkan deiksis terkait dengan pemilihan kata dan penggunaan kalimat yang efektif. Untuk itu, guru harus mampu membuat skenario pembelajarannya

ABSTRACT One of the important skills in language learning is writing. Writing skills, need to be familiarized with children, such as fairy tale writing skills. One way to teach it is a fun activity, which is by linking writing with children’s habit’s, which is to teach imagine. This study aims to analyze the results of the implementation of the design of learning to write fairy tales through imagination activities. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The subject is the fourth grade students of MI Muhamadiyah Beji with a total of 14 students. The result showed that 92.85% of the 14 student were able to create fairy tales through the imaginations, and 7.15% of students were unable to write them in writing because they did not follow the learning well. This activity is also able to explore children who have the potential to write. Keywords: Indonesian Language, Writing Fairy Tales, Imagination.   ABSTRAK Salah satu ketrampilan penting dalam pembelajaran bahasa ialah menulis. Ketrampilan Menulis, perlu dibiasakan pada anak, seperti ketrampilan menulis dongeng. Salah satu cara mengajarkannya ialah dengan kegiatan yang menyenangkan, yaitu dengan menghubungkan antara menulis dengan kebiasaan anak, yaitu berimajinasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hasil implementasi desain pembelajaran menulis dongeng melalui kegiatan berimajinasi. Metode yang digunakan ialah kualitatif deskriptif. Adapun subjeknya ialah siswa kelas IV MI Muhamadiayah Beji yang berjumlah 14  siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa 92.85% dari 14 siswa mampu membuat dongeng dengan melalui pancingan-pancingan imajinasi dan 7.15% siswa tidak mampu menuangkannya dalam bentuk tulis dikarenakan tidak mengikuti pembelajaran dengan baik. Kegiatan ini pula mampu menggali anak-anak yang mempunyai potensi menulis. Kata kunci: Bahasa Indonesia, Menulis Dongeng, Imajinasi.

Transferring meaning embedded by English idiom is not an easy way to do. The meaning contained by English Idiom cannot be comprehended by merely knowing the meaning from each word arranging the idiom. Dealing with English idiom in translation is quite hard because the translator has to transfer the meaning of English idiom into Bahasa Indonesia rightly. On the other hand, it is quite difficult to find the equivalence term in Bahasa Indonesia reflecting the same meaning as it is reflected in the source text. To manage this problem, the translation strategies need to be applied. This research focuses on analyzing the translation strategies used by the translator in transferring the meaning of English idioms into Bahasa Indonesia in the subtitle of  Pitch Perfect 3 Movie. The research method is descriptive qualitative method.. Baker’s translation strategies is used as guideline in classifying the translation strategies used. After finding the type of translation strategies employed, further identifying whether the meaning of English idiom is transferred rightly in Bahasa Indonesia. According to the finding, translation by using idiom in similar meaning and disimilar form was not used by the translator to translate the idioms. The frequency of  translation by using idiom in similar meaning but disimilar form strategy is 4 idioms. 46 idioms were translated by using paraphrased strategy. It is only 1 idiom was translated by using omission strategy. that the meaning of 36 idioms are transferred accurately. The meaning of four idioms were transferred Less-accurately. The meaning of 11 idioms were classified as inaccurate translation

The objective of this research is to give the understanding about the simple sentence structure Sindang Language ini Lubuklinggau and describe the effect in Indonesian language learning process. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The result of this research shows that the simple sentence structure of Bahasa Sindang in Lubuklinggau in the form of verbal-verbed simple sentence which consists of intransitive sentence and single-transitive sentence; adjectival-verbed simple sentence, nominal-verbed simple sentence, numeral-verbed simple sentence, preposisional-verbed simple sentence, and adverbial-verbed simple sentence. Majority of the data finding is the verbal-verbed simple sentence on Sindang language and it is more used by the people who use Sindang language. Intransitive sentence has 62 sentences or 79.5%. Sentence of Sindang Language seen from the aspect of function for the type of intransitive sentence has the function structure: 1) S,P; 2) K,S,P; 3) S,P,Vokatif; 4) S,P,K; 5) P,K; 6) P,S; 7) P; 8) S,P,S, and 9) S,P,Pel. The type of single-transitive sentence has the structure function: 1) K,S,P,O,K; 2) S,P,O,Vokatif; 3) P,O,K; 4) P,O; 5) P,O,K,S; 6) S,P,O; dan 7) P,O,S.  Adjectival-verbed sentence has the structure function of structure K,S,P and P,S. Nominal-verbed simple sentence has the function structure S,P. Numeral-verbed simple sentence has the function structure P,S and S,P. Prepositional Frase-verbed simple sentence has the function structure S,P,Vocative. Then, adverbial-verbed simple sentence has the function structure S,P. The single sentence structure of the Sindang language positively influences the learning of the native speakers of the language. Keywords: simple sentence structure, Sindang language, Lubuklinggau   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan memberikan pemahaman tentang struktur kalimat tunggal bahasa Sindang di Kota Lubuklinggau dan mendeskripsikan pengaruhnya dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di kota tersebut. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa struktur kalimat tunggal bahasa Sindang di Kota Lubuklinggau berbentuk kalimat tunggal berpredikat verbal  yang terdiri atas kalimat intransitif dan kalimat tungggal ekatransitif; kalimat tunggal berpredikat adjektival, kalimat tunggal berpredikat nominal, kalimat tunggal berpredikat numeral, kalimat tunggal berpredikat preposisional, dan kalimat tunggal berpredikat adverbial. Sebagian besar kalimat tunggal berpredikat verbal pada bahasa Sindang lebih banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat penuturnya yaitu kalimat intransitif dengan 62 kalimat atau 79,5%. Kalimat bahasa Sindang ditinjau dari segi fungsi untuk jenis kalimat intransitif memiliki struktur fungsi: 1) S,P; 2) K,S,P; 3) S,P,Vokatif; 4) S,P,K; 5) P,K; 6) P,S; 7) P; 8) S,P,S, dan 9) S,P,Pel. Jenis kalimat ekatransitif memiliki struktur fungsi: 1) K,S,P,O,K; 2) S,P,O,Vokatif; 3) P,O,K; 4) P,O; 5) P,O,K,S; 6) S,P,O; dan 7) P,O,S. Kalimat tunggal berpredikat adjektival memiliki struktur fungsi yaitu berstruktur K,S,P dan P,S. Kalimat tunggal berpredikat nominal memiliki struktur fungsi S,P. Kalimat tunggal berpredikat numeral memiliki struktur fungsi P,S dan S,P. Kalimat tunggal berpredikat frase preposisional memiliki struktur fungsi S,P,Vokatif. Kemudian, kalimat tunggal berpredikat adverbia memiliki struktur fungsi S,P. Struktur kalimat tunggal bahasa Sindang memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia penutur asli bahasa tersebut. ABSTRACT This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of YouTube-based videos as a media in learning daily English conversation for children and to identify factors affecting learning daily English conversation for children by using YouTube-based videos as a media. To obtain the aims, this research uses six children whose ages vary from ten to twelve years old lived in Asrama Yatim Mizan Amanah located at Jalan Salihara, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta as the source of data. Descriptive qualitative method is applied as the research design. In collecting data, the researchers gather the result of learning activities in pre-tests, treatments, and post-tests. Meanwhile, in analyzing the data, the researchers compare the children’s pre-test score with their post-test score to see the development of learning which show their competence before and after being treated. in this case, the research is focused on two topics, Greeting and Introduction in English. The children are introduced some expressions of greeting and introduction in English children by using YouTube-based videos, then some roleplays or conversation containing expressions of greeting and introduction are shown to the children by watching together YouTube-based videos. The last, the children are asked to recognize and practice the expression of greeting and introduction in English. The result shows that the usage of YouTube based video as a media in learning daily English conversation for children is considered effective. Four out of six children are able to memorize new expressions of both greeting and introduction in English, whereas the two other children remains stagnant after learning using YouTube based videos. It is found that there are factors that affect learning English for children by using this media, they are; personality, motivation and attitude, intelligent, learners’ belief, and personality. The most influential factors affecting learning are motivation and attitude. The successful children have these factors stronger rather than the stagnant children. Based on the result, the effectiveness in learning English using YouTube-based videos will be stronger if it is supported by an interactive and conducive learning atmosphere. The learning atmosphere should be considered to achieve a stronger speaking English proficiency. Key words: YouTube based-videos, language learning, daily English conversation ABSTRAK Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk menganalisis keefektifan penggunaan video berbasis YouTube sebagai media dalam belajar percakapan bahasa Inggris sehari-hari pada anak-anak dan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor yang mempengaruhi pembelajaran percakapan bahasa Inggris sehari-hari pada anak-anak yang menggunakan video berbasis YouTube. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, penelitian ini menjadikan enam orang anak berumur sepuluh hingga dua belas tahun yang tinggal di Asrama Yatim Mizan Amanah Jalan Salihara, Pasar Minggu, Jakarta Selatan sebagai sumber data. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode descriptive qualitative. Disini, proses pengumpulan data meliputi pengumpulan hasil pre-tests, treatment, dan post-test. Sementara itu, proses analisis data dilakukan dengan cara membandingkan skor pre-test dengan skor post-test pembelajar untuk melihat perkembangan pembelajaran yang menunjukkan perkembangan anak-anak sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran. Penelitian difokuskan pada dua topik pembelajaran yaitu sapaan dan perkenalan bahasa Inggris. Dalam hal ini anak-anak diajak mengenal ekspresi sapaan dan perkenalan dalam Bahasa Inggris melalui video yang ada pada YouTube. Kemudian menonton beberapa simulasi dari perilaku menyapa dan berkenalan dalam Bahasa Inggris juga melalui video You-Tube. Pada tahap terakhir, para pembelajar ini diminta untuk berlatih mengingat dan mempraktekkan ungkapan sapaan dan perkenalan dalam Bahasa Inggris Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan video berbasis YouTube sebagai media belajar percakapan bahasa Inggris sehari-hari adalah efektif. Empat dari 6 anak mampu mengingat kosakata sapaan dan perkenalan yang baru secara signifikan setelah belajar menggunakan media video berbasis You Tube, meskipun ada 2 anak yang tidak mengalami peningkatan. Ada beberapa faktor yang memengaruhi pembelajaran pada anak-anak tersebut diantaranya kepribadian, motivasi dan sikap, kecerdasan, dan keyakinan. Faktor yang paling berpengaruh pada pembelajaran adalah motivasi dan sikap. Anak-anak yang mengalami peningkatan belajar yang pesat memiliki faktor motivasi dan sikap yang lebih kuat dibanding anak-anak yang tidak mengalami peningkatan. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, keefektifan dalam belajar percakapan Bahasa Inggris sehari-hari menggunakan video YouTube menjadi lebih besar jika didukung oleh atmosfer belajar yang interaktif dan kondusif. Hal ini mesti diperhatikan guna mencapai kemampuan Bahasa Inggris lisan yang lebih baik. Kata Kunci: Video YouTube, Pembelajaran Bahasa, Percakapan dasar dalam Bahasa Inggris.

The research aims to describe and to analyze the forms of code-mixing used by Boy William on Vlog #Dibalikpintu. This study was a descriptive qualitative method and human research is the main instrument of this study. In collecting the data, this study utilized observation and documentation methods. This study employed content analysis which focused on analyzing the forms of code-mixing which were defined by Suwito (1983). The result of this study: In the word form, there are 19 data found, (15 nouns, 2 verbs, 1 adjective, 1 question word). In the phrase form, there are 19 data found, (17 noun phrases, 2 adjective phrases). In the baster form, there are 5 data found, (1 noun as a form of gerund suffixation, 3 noun suffixation, 1 verb suffixation). In the word reduplication form, there are 2 data found, (1 noun, 1 compound noun). In the idiom form, there are 2 data found, (1 formal idiom, 1 informal idiom). In the clause form, there are 25 data found, (8 noun clauses, 14 verb clauses, 3 adjective clauses).

The objectives of this study are (1). To find the types of code mixing used in the novel Magic Hour. (2). To know the Indonesian meaning of code mixing used in the novel Magic Hour. (3). To know the most typical type code mixing used in the novel Magic Hour. This research uses descriptive qualitative method to collect the data. The data are the English words. The writer collects data by finding the types of Indonesian English code mixing, selecting sentence that consist of Indonesian-English code mixing. The analysis shows that there are some types that use, such as: Intra sentential mixing, intra lexical code mixing, involving a change of pronunciation. The types of code mixing which found in the novel are selected into the most typical forms. The writer looked for Indonesian meaning of code mixing. The achievements of this research are expected to be additional source of code mixing study and it is meant to conduct and to develop in the code mixing field.
