Abstract: As a tourist destination, Berau Regency has experienced a significant increase in tourist visits in recent years. Tourism development in Berau Regency still faces several obstacles, including the low quality of tourism destination management, not yet optimal management of regional culture and promotion of tourism destinations that have not been optimal. The tourism industry is closely associated with hospitality which is a major advantage of other industries. There is a need to explore the perceptions of tourism stakeholders about the hospitality concept. The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of understanding of hospitality concepts in tourism stakeholders in Berau Regency. Determination of respondents was done through purposive sampling and snowball sampling methods. Respondents were chosen with the consideration concerned having experience and knowledge in accordance with the focus of the study. The collected data was analyzed by descriptive narrative results of interviews with speakers and results of observations. The results of the study show that tourism stakeholders understand the service more than hospitality concept. Most of tourism stakeholders cannot accurately describe hospitality or distinguish it from service. Only a few of tourism stakeholders can define and describe the hospitality concept, but this still refers to service management terms and concepts. Most tourism stakeholders struggle to express their understanding and perception of hospitality. Practices consistently in carrying out the concept of hospitality can influence the behavior of tourism stakeholders. Keywords: hospitality, tourism stakeholders, Berau Abstrak: Sebagai destinasi wisata, Kabupaten Berau mengalami kenaikan kunjungan wisatawan yang cukup mengesankan pada beberapa tahun terakhir. Pengembangan pariwisata di Kabupaten Berau masih menemui beberapa kendala, antara lain masih rendahnya kualitas pengelolaan destinasi wisata, belum optimalnya pengelolaan budaya daerah dan promosi destinasi pariwisata yang belum optimal. Industri pariwisata lekat dengan keramahtamahan atau hospitality yang merupakan keunggulan utama dari industri lainnya. Sehingga terdapat kebutuhan untuk mengeksplorasi persepsi pelaku pariwisata tentang konsep hospitality. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis tingkat pemahaman konsep hospitality pada pelaku pariwisata di Kabupaten Berau. Penentuan responden dilakukan melalui metode purposive sampling dan snowball sampling. Responden dipilih dengan pertimbangan yang bersangkutan memiliki pengalaman dan pengetahuan sesuai dengan fokus penelitian. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan cara deskriptif naratif hasil wawancara dengan narasumber dan hasil observasi. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaku pariwisata lebih memahami konsep layanan daripada hospitality. Mayoritas pelaku pariwisata tidak dapat secara akurat menggambarkan hospitality atau membedakannya dari layanan. Hanya sedikit dari pelaku pariwisata yang mampu mendefinisikan dan menggambarkan konsep hospitality, namun ini pun masih mengacu pada istilah dan konsep manajemen layanan. Sebagian besar pelaku pariwisata berjuang untuk mengungkapkan pemahaman dan persepsi tentang hospitality. Wisata Alam Sumber Maron is a tourist destination in Malang Regency which is currently experiencing a surge in tourists. In addition, there are problems with the conversion of land from plantations to developed land. Both of these problems have an impact on the quality of the environment in Wisata Alam Sumber Maron, causing the tourist destination area to be unsustainable. The purpose of this research is to analyze the management strategies that can be applied in Wisata Alam Sumber Maron. The data analysis used is an analysis of the carrying capacity of the environment to determine its physical factors, stakeholder analysis to determine social factors and analysis of travel costs to determine economic factors. Based on the method used, the final result is ha the effective carrying capacity at the Wisata Alam Sumber Maron is 179 people/day. This figure is then used as a guideline for strategy formulation.The management strategy is formulated using the 4 pillars of tourism method as stated in the Undang-Undang Number 10 of 2009 about Kepariwisataan, namely the tourism industry, destinations, marketing, and tourism institutions.

Tourism, with a high economic and social significance for the economy of many countries, is one of the fastest developing fields. A new challenge of transition to an innovative way of developing tourism industry is strongly proposed with the result of existing conditions of fierce rivalry in the field, economic and political instability in many regions, including the Republic of Uzbekistan, the fast-growing needs and demands of tourists. Therefore, destinations, importantly, have to determine their competitiveness to figure out their strengths and weaknesses and thereby develop their future conditions. The authors discuss the issues related to the innovation in tourism destinations and present its main directions in the sector, as well as factors affecting the innovative development of the fieldin Khorezm region of Uzbekistan. Moreover, the chapter illustrates the principles and basic requirements for the system of managing innovative activities in tourism destinations at macro, mesa, and microeconomic levels.

Improving the quality of public services is an important concern for the government, this is evidenced by the enactment of Law Number 25 of 2009 concerning Public Services. The recording service for electronic resident identification cards is an administrative service provided by the government to its citizens. However, the reality in the field of electronic ID card recording service at Kanor District Office is not in accordance with the expectations of the community in obtaining public services, this can be explained from the lack of service speed, courtesy and friendliness of service personnel, implementing competence, and facilities and infrastructure in the service room. This study aims to find out and explain the service of recording electronic identity cards in the Kanor sub-district office (study of the quality of public service). The approach mix method in which qualitative data generalised through whislt quantitative data. Determination of informants using purposive snowball sampling. Data analysis uses data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing / verifying. The results showed that the service quality of electronic resident card recording at the District Office of Kanor was from the aspect of infrastructure and facilities, implementing competence and good implementation behavior, but from the aspect of slow service time (not good).


Tourism industry becomes a productive economic sector in the world. Nowdays, tourism industry in every country vary and is potentially to developed, especially in Indonesia. North Sumatera is one of the priority provinces for tourism development in Indonesia. One of the most popular tourism destinations in North Sumatera is Samosir Island Lake Toba. This research aims to analysis the influence of accommodation and destination in North Sumatera Tourism Industry. The population of this study is local tourist and international tourists visiting Tourist Destination in North Sumatera. Sample of this study is 250 respondents. Data analysis was used by software of Amos 22 with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results of study prove that accommodation and destination have positively and significantly effeted to tourist satisfaction, the communication and hospitality of human aspect in providing services to the tourist are more concerned to improve. In terms of developing human aspect of accommodation and destination in North Sumatera, tourism industry needs to be focussed on two aspects, namely: hospitality and communication skill. Proposed idea in improving the human aspect of the tourism industry is enchanging the creation of hybrid tourits satisfaction

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to reflect on how Portugal has dealt with economic crisis with reference to the tourism industry and from the perspective of a global distribution systems (GDS) operator. Design/methodology/approach – The article is based on information drawn from official information sources and relevant data from Travelport. Findings – In recent years, Portugal has developed a positive image in its source markets as a result of a refined strategy and because of the intrinsic quality of its offer and price competitiveness, thus making it an attractive destination. Now the challenge is to maintain the pace and actions in support of Portugal’s image, thereby ensuring its sustainability, with particular attention to security and the maintenance and cleanliness of public spaces. Originality/value – This article presents the perspective of a GDS operator with respect to the impacts of the Portuguese economic crisis on tourism and the responses made to address these challenges, thereby highlighting the resilience of tour operators.

Research question: The objective of this paper is to examine the level of the development of spa tourism with a special review of the wellness tourist offer of the Republic of Serbia, and also which factors of this tourist offer we should pay special attention to and improve, to achieve the highest level of tourist loyalty. Motivation: The tourism potential of the Republic of Serbia has not been sufficiently researched and that served as a basic motivational factor. Idea: Considering the tourist potential that Serbia has and partly the work of Han et al., (2017), the fact that spa tourism is the fastest-growing sector in the entire tourism industry, and that the wellness tourism offer is a very important segment of spa tourism, there is a need to identify factors that influence the visitors' loyalty formation for such tourist destinations. As the Republic of Serbia has a lot of wellness centres, it represents a very convenient location for conducting such research. Data: This research included 298 guests of wellness centres in Vrnjačka Banja: "Solaris", "Aleksandar", "Merkur", "Zepter", "Kralj", "Slatina" and "Iwa Wellness Centre". Data collection was performed during July and August 2019. Methods: The PLS-SEM method was used in this paper to test the defined research hypotheses. Factors that contribute to loyalty and revisit for the wellness and spa tourist destination were investigated, and they were measured by the appropriate number of questions: quality of wellness and spa tourism, the value of wellness and spa services, attraction of wellness and spa tourist destination and satisfaction with wellness and spa tourist destination. All attitudes were measured using a five-point Likert scale. Results: The quality and value of wellness and spa services positively impact the affection for wellness and spa tourist destination and satisfaction with wellness and spa tourist destination, while the attraction of wellness and spa tourist destination positively affects satisfaction with wellness and spa tourist destination and tendency to revisit by tourists. The existence of a positive influence of satisfaction with wellness and spa tourist destination and the desire to revisit the tourist loyalty formation was also shown. Contribution: Improving the quality, value, and effect with the Republic of Serbia as a wellness and spa tourist destination will increase the satisfaction of visitors and their desire to revisit this tourist destination, which will lead to greater loyalty in the future. This will increase the revenue generated from this type of tourism and accelerate local and regional development.

Penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Kehadiran peneliti bersifat mutlak, (human instrument). Jenis data (1) primer, dan (2) skunder. Penentuan informan (1) purposive sampling. (2) snowball sampling. Pengumpulan data 1) wawancara mendalam; 2) observasi partisipan; dan 3) dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data l) reduksi data, 2) penyajian data, dan 3) penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Pengecekan keabsahan data menggunakan kredibilitas, meliputi; (1) perpanjangan pengamatan, (2) triangulas (a) triangulasi sumber, (b) triangulasi teknik, dan (c) triangulasi waktu. Simpulan penelitian ini (1) karakter inklusif-pluralis santri di Pesantren Ngalah; karakter yang dapat menerima, mengakui, menghormati, dan menyakini adanya perbedaan, serta adanya keragaman ras, suku, bahasa, dan agama yang dapat hidup berdampingan di dalam suatu entitas yang pluralistik. This study aimed to find out how the implementation of the Public Relations Officers in disseminating information about the Spirit 99 Days Work Program from the city Mayor of Malang, and to find out what obstacles occured in the implemention. This study used a qualitative method and the determination of respondents used a snowball sampling. The data collection techniques were through interviews, observation, documentation and the data analysis techniques included reduction, presentation, and verification. From the results of the study showed that the implementation of the public relations performance department in disseminating information, seen from the organization was effective and efficient. In the preparation of the public relations department did two approaches, namely based on the quantity and quality of its human resources, but in a communication policy Public Relations Section has not yet applied the basic tasks of government public relations. Directing the Public Relations Section was through formal and informal forms. While the supervision was through the IMM (Intelligence Media Management) software system which can monitor, collect online, printed and TV media content. From the assessment, the public relations department got some big problems with the existence of Spirit 99Work Days programs that have not been implemented. The inhibiting factors were inadequate funding and human resources and also the ineffective communication.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the promotion strategy through advertising media at Desa Wisata Kubu Gadang Kota Padang Panjang view from 3 indicator: print media, electronic media, outdoor media. The research is a descriptive qualitative with survey method. Determination of informant using purposive sampling and snowball sampling. The purposive sampling technique involving 2 informant from tourism govermant and 2 informant from desa wisata Kubu Gadang Kota Padang Panjang manager then snowball sampling technique involving 3 informant from desa wisata Kubu Gadang Kota Padang Panjang visitor. Technique of collecting data is done by interview, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that: 1) the strength of promotion advertising are: news paper easy to get, the picture quality on brochure have a good and interesting, radio can be heard anywhere, television give information through sound and picture, desa wisata Kubu Gadang also have a website and a big billboard with a perfect lighting. 2) the weakness of promotion advertising are: there was no promotion through a brochure, there was no update on the Kubu Gadang’s website, the billboard was vulnerable of damage. 3) the opportunities of promotion advertising are: there are many people who still interest to read the newspaper and brochure, there are many people who interest of internet using, many people can see the outdoor media as if billboard and baliho. 4) the threats of promotion advertising are: there are competitor through print media, television and outdoor media. The conclusion of The promotion strategy through advertising media at Desa Wisata Kubu Gadang Kota Padang Panjang is 1) making use of print media for promotion, 2) to increase the promotion thourgh radio, television and website/internet, 3) making advertising through outdoor media as if billboard and baliho.

Jember has a very diverse natural, cultural and artificial tourism potential. One of the natural potentials that currently become the prima donna in Jember is Teluk Love beach, located in Sumberrejo-Ambulu-Jember. The main attraction of the Love Bay is in terms of its shape that symbolizes love, which is not possessed by other destinations in Jember. The booming existence of the Love Bay increases tourist arrivals at this destination every day, in the other hand the condition of human resources and social economic environment is not ready to face of the growth of Love Bay tourism. Weak tourism knowledge, slum social environment patterns, society economic management are some challenges in developing this Love Bay tourism. Theoretically, if a tourist destination is well managed, tourists as subjects in the tourism industry have an important role in the sustainability of a tourist destination. The tourist services needs to get special attention. If the tourists are well served, then they will feel satisfied. This is a factor driving these tourists to come back, and with the more tourists it will have an effect on improving the economic level of the community itself. Based on the problems experienced by partners, the solutions that can be offered are providing soft skills training (attitude) for tourism services, providing hard skills training (procedural), providing assistance in the form of procurement of quality improvement service.
