This article aims to discuss and reflect on the formation proposals through Vocational and Technological Education in Brazil. Considering that this type of education has historically been directed towards the training of workers, we ask: Has professional training formed people considering the human development of critical awareness of reality or just labour for the capitalist production system? What formative bases are sufficient to train people in an emancipatory perspective? To answer these questions, we use mainly the ideas of Marx and Engels (1847); Marx (1985); Manacorda (2010); Gramsci (1968); Luckaks (1976); Frigotto (2006, 2018), Saviani (1991), as well as legislations and other authors who discuss the subject. This text is the result of a literature review and demonstrates the need for emancipatory formation proposals that interest the working class.

AbstractThe notion of the labour-aristocracy is one of the oldest Marxian explanations of working-class conservatism and reformism. Despite its continued appeal to scholars and activists on the Left, there is no single, coherent theory of the labour-aristocracy. While all versions argue working-class conservatism and reformism reflects the politics of a privileged layer of workers who share in ‘monopoly’ super-profits, they differ on the sources of those super-profits: national dominance of the world-market in the nineteenth century (Marx and Engels), imperialist investments in the ‘colonial world’/global South (Lenin and Zinoviev), or corporate monopoly in the twentieth century (Elbaum and Seltzer). The existence of a privileged layer of workers who share monopoly super-profits with the capitalist class cannot be empirically verified. This essay presents evidence that British capital’s dominance of key-branches of global capitalist production in the Victorian period, imperialist investment and corporate market-power can not explain wage-differentials among workers globally or nationally, and that relatively well-paid workers have and continue to play a leading rôle in radical and revolutionary working-class organisations and struggles. An alternative explanation of working-class radicalism, reformism, and conservatism will be the subject of a subsequent essay.

PST is a public educational sport policy of the Brazilian Federal Government for the promotion of educational sports by the Ministry of Sport (2003-2018) with the support of the Collaborating Teams. The purpose of this article is to describe who these teams were, how educational sport was thought of by them, and how these Collaborating Teams approached teachers of Physical Education who worked in educational sport centers (Core Coordinators). For description and analysis, we used the literature review with the subject of professional training, educational sport and Programa Segundo Tempo [Second Time Program] and we count on documental analysis by Bardin (2011). We have conclude that the Collaborating Teams show the possibility of intervening in the training of Core Coordinators throughout the country, and for that, these Teams were formed by trainers (university professors) who worked in the search for dialogue with the Coordinators of Sports Core. This dialogue has the potential to reinvent sport, from a traditional sport to an educational sport aiming to ensure the rights of children and adolescents to access sport and leisure in Brazil.

This article examines how some contemporary autobiographies avoid narratives told from a first person viewpoint. Rejecting a philosophy of the subject that favors the first person pronoun over the other persons in language, Annie Ernaux’s impersonal autobiography The Years (2008) favors a mode of remembering that is collective rather than individual. But the narrator’s memories fall prey to a capitalist production system that denies the body while technology takes over the past, eliminating the subject as the owner of her memories.

This literature review article is the result of an academic activity of the Master in Professional and Technological Education (PROFEPT) of the Instituto Federal do Piauí (IFPI) in progress. Contemporary foreign language teaching has been shown to be of great importance for the development of academic and professional training in a contemporary sociocultural dynamic. Thus, this article sought to discuss the following epistemological aspects, namely: professional education and environmental education: conceptions and interrelationships; applicability of the textbook as teaching material in English language teaching contextualized in English language classes in the High school Technical Course in Environment. This academic-scientific study in terms of objective is characterized as basic research with a qualitative approach and consists of a systematic literature review. From this scientific-research, the importance of the need to integrate content and didactic materials that articulate professional training and propaedeutic training was evidenced, and that enables the student to develop creative skills of reflection and perception to be incorporated in their citizenship training and socio-environmental responsibility. It was also observed the need to build a teaching practice that addresses the theme of the environment, considering the inseparability between education and social practice to face issues related to socio-environmental issues. The aim of this study is to awaken the critical view of the professors to teaching intertwined between the disciplines, propaedeutics, English and techniques of the Environmental Technical Course.

Background: Research shows that there is a high prevalence of suicide among nurses. Despite this, it has been 15 years since the last literature review on the subject was published. Aim: The aim of this article is to review the knowledge currently available on the risk of suicide among nurses and on contributory risk factors. Method: A search was conducted in electronic databases using keywords related to prevalence and risk factors of suicide among nurses. The abstracts were analyzed by reviewers according to selection criteria. Selected articles were submitted to a full-text review and their key elements were summarized. Results: Only nine articles were eligible for inclusion in this review. The results of this literature review highlight both the troubling high prevalence of suicide among nurses as well as the persistent lack of studies that examine this issue. Conclusion: Considering that the effects of several factors related to nurses' work and work settings are associated with high stress, distress, or psychiatric problems, we highlight the relevance of investigating work-related factors associated with nurses' risk of suicide. Several avenues for future studies are discussed as well as possible research methods.

The author's approach to the empirical study of the peculiarities of self-development of a person has been  considered. The criteria of self-development as a subject activity have been characterized. Its indicators have been  given.  The  psychological  resources  of  personal  self-development  have  been  singled  out:  the  need  for  self- development as its source and determinant; conditions that ensure its success; mechanisms as functional means and  conditions  for  its  implementation.  Their  essence  has  been  revealed.  The  need  for  self-development  has  been  determined by the actualization of the characteristics of self-development (self-activity, vital activity, development of  self-consciousness) and has been occurred when the content structure of the individual consciousness and the  transformation of semantic entities changed. Conditions of self-development has been defined by mature I of  personality, openness, tolerance to the new, the presence of a conscious goal of self-realization and active life  strategy. Reflection, self-regulation and feedback have been considered as mechanisms of self-development. The  methodical approaches and means of studying the peculiarities and factors of the development of the subject of self- development in adolescence in the process of professional training have been offered, and the results of their  integrated empirical research have been highlighted. Particular attention has been paid to the analysis of the level  of actualization of self-development resources among students, discovered with the author's diagnostic method  "DCPSD" (Dispositional Characteristic of Personality of Self-development). It has been proved that psychological  resources as a set of possibilities of development already exist in the psychological reality of a person. It has been  shown that the dominance of the level of self-development resources’ actualization of the individual (and their  combination) can be correlated with the dimensions of the individual psychological space, indicating the individual  peculiarity of the personal self-development organization. It has been noted that, at the same time, actualization,  strengthening and harmonization of all psychological resources of a person self-development, enrichment of its  relations with the environment and other people, and increasing spirituality is necessary for the implementation of  progressive conscious personal self-development. Objective: Focal cartilage injuries, and posttraumatic osteoarthritis (OA) in the wrist are likely common and a cause of wrist pain. To estimate the incidence of cartilage lesions and to understand the pathomechanisms leading to wrist cartilage injuries and OA, a literature review on the subject was performed combined with a presentation of one of the authors’ own experience. Design: This study includes a literature review of the topic. As a comparison to the review findings, the observations of one of the authors’ consecutive 48 wrist arthroscopies, were assessed. PubMed, Scholar, and Cochrane databases were searched using the keywords “cartilage injury AND wrist AND treatment” and “wrist AND cartilage AND chondral AND osteochondral AND degenerative OA.” :Result A total of 11 articles, including 9 concerning chondral and osteochondral repair and treatment and 2 regarding posttraumatic OA, were retrieved. The cartilage repair treatments used in these articles were drilling, osteochondral autograft, juvenile articular cartilage allograft, and chondrocyte implantation. One article displayed concomitant cartilage injuries in displaced distal radius fractures in 32% of the patients. The review of our findings from a 1-year cohort of wrist arthroscopies showed 17% cartilage injuries. Conclusion: There is a lack of knowledge in current literature on cartilage injuries and treatment, as well as posttraumatic OA in the wrist. Cartilage injuries appear to be common, being found in 17% to 32% of all wrist arthroscopies after trauma, but no guidelines regarding conservative or surgical treatment can be recommended at the moment. Larger prospective comparative studies are needed.
