Alienation is a state of mind in which an individual feels lonely and has a low level of attachment with her society, fails to get control over the environment and gradually becomes isolated and helpless. Psychiatric disorders refer to what a person feels, thinks and act that lead her towards the mental disturbance or spoil his areas of functioning. The present study investigated the relationship between social alienation and psychiatric disorders among university students. 600 students were selected as a sample from different departments of a university. A scale for alienation developed by Guerrero and Castillo (1966) and a scale for psychiatric disorders developed by Lovibond and Lovibond (1995) were used to collect the data. The collected data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and Pearson Correlation. Results showed that certain level of social alienation and psychiatric disorders exist among students, and there was a positive association between social alienation and psychiatric disorders.

Background and Study Aim: This exploratory study tried to find out religiosity levels and perceptions of Turkish university students on female participation in sport. It also aimed to point out the possible relationship between religiosity and female participation in sport. Material and Methods: For this purpose, 412 university students attending to different faculties in Bartin University in Turkey completed Religiosity Inventory and Female Participation in Sport Questionnaire. The findings derived from both scales were evaluated using SPSS 22.0 program through descriptive statistics, t-Test and Anova Tests, and the relationships between two scales were calculated using Pearson Correlation Test and Regression Analysis. Gender and field of study were used as variables to elaborate the results of the scales. Results: According to the findings of the research, it was found that the university students had very high religiosity level and very positive perception of female participation in sport. Moreover, the study pointed out there is a weak positive correlation between the religiosity and female participation in sport which was contradictory to the study hypotheses of this research. Conclusions: As a conclusion, this study conveyed that religiosity does not have a negative effect on the female participation in sport.

Background: University students have increased levels of depression and its complications. Aggression is a serious problem among the university students in Jordan, while spiritual well-being is associated with many psychosocial issues. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between depression, aggression, and spiritual well-being among the university students. Methods: A quantitative approach using cross-sectional descriptive-correlation design was used to carry out on convenience sample of 919 students at the University of Jordan. Results:  Almost 55.7% of the university students exhibited some degrees of depression. 51.3% of the students reported high aggression, while 48.7% of the students reported low aggression. The Pearson correlation coefficient test showed positive correlation between depression and aggression (r= .364, p< 0.001), and negative correlation between spiritual well-being and both of depression and aggression (r=-.533, r=-.288, p<0.001) respectively. Conclusions: Depression, aggression, and spiritual well-being were significantly correlated. Psychological counselors, social workers, and teachers at the universities should provide continuous psychological assessment and interventions for the students who reported high levels of aggression and depression. Spiritual well-being should be included in their interventions through various form of community services to enhance the sense of meaning of life, peace, and faith among university students.

Purpose of the study: This study aims to investigate the relationship of sports participation with achievement, motivation, and innovation traits among university students. Methodology. A sample of 325 students was approached at the University of Lahore and the University of Punjab, through a convenience sampling technique. Descriptive statistics, Chi-square, Pearson correlation, and regression analysis were applied for data analysis.  The reliability of the instrument was α = 0.93. Main Findings: It was found that only14.2% of the students were active in regular sports participation and 45% had shown their interest in sports while 10.8% were undecided. The student's level of interest was above moderate. Sports Participation had no significant (p>0.05) association with age, gender, institute, locality, and family income. Sports Participation, innovation, achievement, and motivation had a significant and positive association. Innovation, achievement, and motivation were significant and positive predictors of sports participation. It is concluded that these factors were not inhibitors. Applications of this study: The university authorities should make serious efforts to develop modalities for sports participation of the students. Most of the available studies show the relationship of sports participation with demographical, social, and structural factors among the athletes or students while the current study describes the association of sports participation not only with biographical factors of the university students but also with their traits like achievement, motivation, and innovation.

The aim of the current research is to identify the level of autonomy at Anbar University students and the significance of statistical differences in the level of independence of the sample depending on the variables of specialization (scientific/ humanist), genre (male/ female) and the level of psychological identity among university students and the significance of statistical differences in the psychological level of identity depending on variables specialization (scientific/ humanistic), kind (male/ female), and the relationship between psychological autonomy and identity among university students.The researchers adopted steps of descriptive approach to achieve the goals of their research, has been selected sample of random stratified way, reaching 120 students in Anbar University for the academic year (2015-2016) and adopted the researchers Adata Search: first autonomy measure may be (36) paragraph and identified alternatives with four alternatives, and the second: A measure of psychological identity may be (52) paragraph alternatives pentagonal. Also check the two researchers from the standard characteristics of the two measures and of honesty and consistency has been applied to the two scales on the sample after the data by statistical means derived treatment (Altaia test (T-test) for one sample, the test Altaia (T-test) for two independent samples, Pearson correlation coefficient, the equation Alvakronbach , Kai box) the results showed that college students have autonomy highly statistically significant, and there are no statistically significant differences between the university students in the level of autonomy due to the variable specialization (scientific/ humanist), gender (male/ female), and university students have psychological identity function and there is no statistically significant differences between the university students in the psychological identity due to the variable level of specialization (scientific/ humanistic), kind (male/ female) and the results showed a lack of correlation between psychological autonomy and identity.

The purpose of present research is to study the effect of COVID-19 Pandemic on the relationship between Optimism and Resilience among the university students. Optimism and Resilience of 100 university students (36 males and 64 females) were assessed by using optimism pessimism scale and a brief resilience scale. Digital survey method was adopted to reach out to the university students between 18-23 yrs. of age group and Pearson correlation coefficient method was used to establish the relationship between the variables. As a result, it was found that optimism and resilience share a positive relationship (0.507) not only otherwise but in the challenging times too. Findings revealed that to increase the resilience one has to increase the positive and optimistic thoughts. The research can add value to the detailed study on optimism and its relation with resilience and psychological well-being during unforeseen period. This study also gives further opportunity for a comparative study between the optimism and resilience among different age groups.

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of participation in a 1-week summer camp on thehopelessness and self-esteem of the university students attending Sport Sciences Faculty. Participants were 36university students assigned to experiment group using a random procedure. Coopersmith Self-esteem and Beck Hopelessness Scales were completed at the beginning and end of the summer camp by designed the university. The obtained data were analysed in the SPSS 18.0 program and the significance level was taken as 0.05. The descriptive statistics, independent simple t test, paired simple t test and Pearson correlation were used for analyse the data in the study. According to the results of the research, no significant difference was observed in the comparison of the hopelessness and self-esteem levels between pre and post-test. In addition, there was a significant difference in the hopelessness level of male and female students but any significant difference was not observed in terms of self-esteem. There was a significant relationship between hopelessness and self-esteem pre and post-test. These result shows that a 1-week summer camp cannot change the hopelessness or self-esteem level. However, as the self-esteem rises, the rate of despair decreases whereas as the despair rises, the selfesteem decreases.

Aim: The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between leisure management and test anxiety levels of university students and their differentiation status in terms of some demographic variables. Methods: The relational survey model was used in the study, and there were 284 (147 male and 137 female) university students selected from the universe by convenient sampling method. Personal information form prepared by the researchers, “Leisure Management Scale (LMS)” and “Test Anxiety Inventory (TAI)” were used as data collection tools. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics, t-Test and Pearson Correlation analyzes were used by using SPSS 26.0 program. Results: There was no significant difference in the sub-dimensions of the leisure management scale and the total score averages according to the gender variable, while a significant difference was found in the TAI "delusional", "affective" sub-dimensions and total score averages. According to the family income variable of university students, a low-level and negative significant relationship was found in the "leisure attitude" sub-dimension of LMS, and in the total TAI and "delusional sub-dimension". A significant relationship was found between the age variable and the "goal setting and method" sub-dimension of LMS. A low and negative significant relationship was found between leisure and "goal setting and method", "leisure attitude" and total LMS score averages. In addition, while there was no significant relationship between LMS and TAI, it was found that there was a low and negative significant relationship between the "leisure attitude" sub-dimension and the test anxiety inventory and its sub-dimensions. Conclusion: It can be said that as the level of attitude towards leisure activities of university students’ increases, the feeling of exam anxiety may decrease, and the increase in free time will adversely affect the level of leisure management and attitude. The aim of this study is to clarify the relationship between self-concept and patterns of family climate among students at the University of Islamic Sciences, and also aimed to investigate the effect of gender and age on this relationship.The sample of the study consisted of a group of students were selected randomly, totaling (139) students; (58) male and (81) female students.Two questionnaires were distributed on 139 students. The first questionnaire was on the impact of patterns of family climate on self-concept and the second one about self-concept. Then the researcher analyzed the results of each item in the questionnaire using appropriated statistical methods, calculated the correlation between self-concept and patterns of family climate using the Pearson correlation coefficient, and G-test to find the difference between correlation coefficients.The results showed a positive statistical significance relationship between family climate patterns on one hand and between self-concept in all its dimensions on the other hand.

ResumoNeste artigo analisamos as relações com o saber, com o ensinar e com o aprender em atividades desenvolvidas em um subprojeto de Matemática no Programa Institucional de Bolsas de Iniciação à Docência (PIBID). Os dados consistiram no registro das ações realizadas em sala de aula por um supervisor (professor), seis estudantes da licenciatura em Matemática e alunos do Ensino Fundamental de uma escola pública do estado do Paraná, Brasil. Para a interpretação dos dados foi utilizado um instrumento que possibilita evidenciar as relações com o saber na sala de aula denominado Matriz 3x3. As análises revelaram implicações da ação do supervisor na ação tanto dos estudantes universitários quanto dos alunos da escola e, consequentemente, nas relações que estes estabeleceram com o saber, o ensinar e o aprender.AbstractIn this article we analyze the relationship with knowledge, with teaching and with learning in activities developed in a subproject of Mathematics in the Institutional Program of Initiation to Teaching (PIBID). The data consisted of the registration of actions carried out in the classroom by a supervisor (teacher), six undergraduate students in Mathematics and students of the Elementary School of a public school in the state of Paraná, Brazil. For the interpretation of the data we used an analytical instrument called Matrix 3x3. The analyses revealed the implications of the supervisor's action on the actions of the university students and of the school students and consequently on the relationships they established with knowledge, teaching and learning.

Background: Vitamin D deficiency is today acknowledged as a pandemic. Vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency are associated with many chronic diseases, including common cancers, cardiovascular diseases, metabolic syndrome, and infectious and autoimmune diseases.Objective: This study aims to investigate the relationship between the cotinine level in urine and Vitamin D.Methods: This study employed a descriptive and relational screening design.  It was conducted with 74 smoking university students between January 2019 and March 2020. Data were collected through socio-demographic form and Fagerstrom test for nicotine dependence. Besides, the participating students’ blood and urine samples were taken in a suitable environment.Results: The average age of the participating students was 21.50±2.09. Of all the students, 71.6% were males, 62.2% were exposed to the sun between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., and the average number of cigarettes smoked daily was 13.52±8.22. The average Vitamin D level in blood was 32.4±15.3 (ng/mL), and the average cotinine level in urine was 1.60 ± .32 (ng/L). No statistically significant relationships were found between the Vitamin D level and the cotinine level (p<0.05).Conclusion: Smoking causes diseases and death in many people, and it is a changeable risk factor.  Nursing practices on the struggle against smoking are effective. No significant relationships were found between the Vitamin D level in blood and cotinine level in urine. Similar studies are recommended to be conducted with larger groups and participants from different age groups.
