The article analyzes the problems of modern educational activities in the context of the socio-philosophical analysis of the specifics of the information society. The problems of “self-development” and “self-presentation” of a personality are raised in the context of their interpretation in the context of the current situation of social transitivity. The position of eliminating educational institutions from educational processes, the threat of creating the phenomenon of education without a pedagogical component is considered as problematic. The "traditional" and "innovative" accents in the socio-philosophical discourse of education are compared, their semantic connotations are presented. The necessity of maintaining the balance of archetypal-educational functionality is substantiated, which consists in the formation of a system of socialization actions through a complex of educational levels, which have archetypal meaning expressed by special functions. The scientific novelty of the research is the schematic comparison of the functional characteristics of the archetype with the tasks of different levels of education as an orientation towards different potencies of the personality. In particular, the social functions of archetypes (in the author's three-component concept), the archetypal typology and schematics of E. Berne, C.-G. Jung and M. Mark and M. Pearson were compared with the tasks and meanings of the levels of education (primary, secondary and secondary special, higher), there are three functions of education, closely determined by the archetypal meanings of pedagogical activity. At the same time, a scheme is proposed in which the orientational-coordinating, stereotyping-normative and integrative-systematizing archetypal components form the tasks and functions of education: correlation, correctional and compensatory. The purpose of the article is to identify stable functions, principles, elements that, in any reform of the educational sphere, in particular, pedagogical, should be preserved, since they constitute the semantic foundations of its existence as a social institution of personality development. These are recognized as the unity of training and education, the unity of the past, present and future as organic links in the transfer of social experience and the preservation of social memory. Accordingly, six archetypes of educational activities are identified.

The aim of this article is to present the funding sources and scale of the expenditure for the educational activity provided by Promotional Forest Complexes (PFCs) in the context of sustainable development. Apart from a number of significant economic functions, the State Forests in Poland perform important social functions, including the function of nature and forest education. Economic functions bring profit, while social functions are not subject to such commercialization. The execution of the social functions of Poland’s forests is dealt with by special organizational units, called Promotional Forest Complexes (PFCs). PFCs have suitable educational facilities at their disposal, enabling them to perform their tasks (e.g., education sites, nature exhibition rooms, forest teaching shelters, educational trails). Running these facilities involves certain transaction costs, which are covered from the PFCs’ own resources. The educational activity is partly financed from external sources. This analysis indicates that we could observe a decrease in internal and external resources dedicated to the nature and forest education of the society. The authors carried out the secondary materials analysis concerning the object of study, as well as the analysis of scientific literature and statistical analysis.

The modern world and Russia in particular is characterized by intensive migration processes. Ethnic, socio-cultural, religious conflicts and migrant-phobia are spreading in the countries that receive migrants. This requires a search for new means and mechanisms for the adaptation and integration of migrants, as well as the prevention of migrant phobia among the local population. The aim of the study is to give a sociological description of migrantophobia in Russia and substantiate the potential of the social values of the sports movement in its prevention. The content of the research is based on: 1) the analysis of bibliographic sources on the topic of the article; 2) a secondary analysis of sociological research on the perception of migrants and migrant phobia. Sociological studies demonstrate a downward trend in the level of migrantophobia in the Russian society, however, there is a need for new ways of preventing it. It has been concluded that sport as a social institution and such social values of sport as activity, self-realization, communication, respect, friendship, tolerance can play a significant role in the adaptation and integration of migrants, as well as in prevention of migrant phobia among the local population. Interpretations of the social functions of sports in relation to migrants have been given. The macro-, meso- and micro factors of the involvement of migrants in sports have been indicated.

The paper is aimed at carrying out the social and philosophical analysis of the factors that determine the specificity of being as a resident of the megalopolis. It proves that residents of the megalopolis are subjected to double pressure: first, they are pressurized by a crowd, part of which they are forced to be constantly, and secondly – by their own ambitions and desires. All this substantially complicates the possibilities of self-presentation and self-affirmation of an individual. The thesis that traditional values are transformed or neglected in the chronotype of the megalopolis and the value of consumption becomes the only dominant is also argued.

It is evident that, especially in the recent decades, the scientific institutions have strongly evolved and modified their structures in order to be adapted to the changing socio-cultural environment as well as to be more aware of the need to generate new knowledge in order to support the economic growth. Social sciences tried to interpret the process of institutionalization of science in the academic world in various ways, analyzing the social components of the process of creating the knowledge. The approach in social sciences is primarily characterized by the study of the level of institutionalization that enables the study of the features that, in turn, define science as a social institution. This approach is useful in the study of higher education systems because the institutionalized principles make the structure of an organization and primarily provide the information about what regulates the formation of a university and not only about what regulates the behavior of an individual. The organization of the university is a clear example to understand the changes that are taking place in social institutions based on scientific and technological knowledge. In fact, in recent decades, universities have changed the way they organize their activities. The new requirements favor the reorganization of the knowledge creation process which has significant consequences for changes in the internal structure of a science institution. This article focuses on the analysis of the process of institutionalization of science. This approach to science is primarily characterized by the analysis of the features that define science as a social institution. In this context, the most important challenges and difficulties related to these processes in a globalized world are presented.

In a society where the family suffers attacks from many different sides, a culture of the family is needed that will be also for the family. The tendency of identifying as a family any aggregate of individuals regardless of their sex or of the link that joins them, gives rise to a semantic chaos, which not only hurts the family but society also. In spite of the changes of the last few years, traditional family is still the social institution with more influence on the formation of persons, and the most able to generate individual and social capitals –mutual trust, a shared understanding of common good, hope for the future, the sense of belonging to a generational line or tradition, the development of a true democracy– the lack of which makes it very hard to conceive (the idea of) a society worthy of that name.

When communicating with the surrounding people each person shows his / her social and psychological personal qualities. The development of these qualities is influenced by a large number of factors. Physical education plays a significant role in this process. The development of social and psychological qualities manifests itself in the presence of one’s own beliefs and views on various phenomena and events in society; in the acquired social attitudes and requirements both in relation to himself and to other people; in the ability to make decisions and bear responsibility for them; in the ability to master and carry out various social roles; in the efficiency of interaction with various social groups of people; in willingness for self-education, etc. The article characterizes the process of physical education at a university as one of the spheres of educational activity which promotes social adaptation of students to the conditions of the university, and develops future professionals’ socially and professionally significant personal qualities and the ability for efficient activity in the constantly changing conditions of the social environment and social production. The authors emphasize the importance of pedagogical, social and psychological environment in which the process of a personality development is realized.

This article studies the social functions of a public relations service of a regional executive authority on the example of the information and publishing department of the labor and employment agency of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The Public Relations Service is regarded as a social institution, wherein this institute is interpreted as an approved and stable set of statuses and roles. This set acts in society, and its goal is to form an environment for effective public communications between social actors. The authors consider the main approaches to the analysis of the service responsible for public relations as a social institution; in addition, they define the specifics of the social functions of the service implementing public relations — the executive authority of the region. The relevance of the study is determined by the fact that the public relations service, which operates in the structure of the authority, determines, among other things, a positive idea about all public authorities in general. The purpose of the study is to analyze the social function of the public relations service of the regional executive authorities. The authors have employed the following methods: expert survey, content analysis of media materials, secondary analysis of data from sociological analysis of the image of the state employment service of the population of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Based on the results of theoretical, methodological, and empirical studies, the authors conclude that in addition to the obvious social function of information, the public relations service performs a managerial social function through the creation of an information and communication environment in which an effective dialogue between social actors unfolds. The public relations service of the executive branch of the region, in turn, has its own specifics of these social functions. This is one of the social institutions that creates the conditions not only for the gradual and growing development of the image of the executive branch, but also for the development of a favorable perception of the population about public services provided by the government.
