One important component in an individual's life is self-efficacy. Self-efficacy is one aspect of knowledge about self or self-knowledge that is most influential in everyday human life. So that every individual should have good self-efficacy to prepare for a future career. The purpose of this study is to find out how the self-efficacy of IAIN Langsa Islamic counseling guidance students in preparing for a career. The problem examined in this study is how the self-efficacy of IAIN Langsa Islamic counseling guidance students in preparing for a career. In conducting this research researchers used a qualitative method with the type of phenomenological study, the determination of the informants in this study was determined using purposive sampling techniques, in processing the research data using the filling system technique. The filling system method is a method in which the researcher feels that the collected data is sufficient so the analysis is performed. The results of the study showed that the self-efficacy of IAIN Langsa Islamic counseling students in preparing for a career was classified as good. Islamic counseling students already understand what the world of counseling is like, what it works like, and have prepared steps for future career preparation. Scientifically at least Islamic counseling students already have insight into the world of counseling so that it helps students to achieve good self-efficacy

The task of the research is to determine the possibilities of interpretation of the theme of calling on the basis of the ideas of the ethics of E. Levinas and his criticism of Heideggerian fundamental ontology. Following the main positions of Levinasian philosophy the author of the article proves the relevance of the understanding of calling as a common to mankind direction and requirement of holiness and awakening from interestedness in oneself to concern for the other people’s welfare and good. On the basis of Levinasian ideas of infinity and transcendence the purpose of calling reveals itself in devotion of person’s aims and values to over-personal aims and values. The phenomenon of call reveals itself not as the claim of authenticity of self-being and towards the truth of being as a whole, but as a need to answer to the Other. Not a Heideggerian fear and resoluteness of finiteness found the values in human life, but the infinity of living for the other people. The study follows the thought of Levinas that infinity reveals itself in the person and makes the person able to overcome anxiety of own death and overcome the limits of living towards it. The study examines the criticism by Levinas of phenomenological attitude to rely upon the self-certainty of subjectivity and his positioning of the certainty of ethical obligation based on the intersubjective experience and the requirement of responsibility towards the other people. The research determines the necessity of the search of the ways for harmonization in the concept of calling of the positions of ontology and ethics. Therefore the author foresees the possibility for solution of practical problems concerning ethical motivation of personality, of general understanding of the conditions for forming of personal virtues, of answering the various calls of living in the world, and of solving the collisions revealed in the realization of personal understanding of calling.

Long live learning: the effect of positive learning experience on low educated workers’ self-efficacy Long live learning: the effect of positive learning experience on low educated workers’ self-efficacy For both public authorities, businesses and employees ‘life-long learning’ remains increasingly important to maintain their competitive position in relation to other players on the world market and labor market respectively. Life-long learning, however, is not self-evident for everyone. Lower educated workers, for instance, participate less in training than their higher educated colleagues and the difference between these groups is gradually increasing. Goal of this longitudinal study was to measure the effects of training participation and learning experience on the self-efficacy of lower educated employees with regard to learning. Lower educated workers of three different organizations (N = 359) filled out a questionnaire on three moments with an interval of half a year. Training participation alone appeared to have no effect on self-efficacy, but a positive learning experience was positively correlated with an increase in self-efficacy with regard to learning. These results are in line with Bandura’s Social Learning Theory. This demonstrates the importance of a low key training which is aimed at gaining of a positive learning experience among lower educated workers in order to increase self-efficacy and trigger life-long learning.

The use of Facebook at this time many students who cannot manage their Facebook access need to look for attention that is considered slang. The purpose of this study was to learn how to control yourself MTsN Bustanul Huda students in using Facebook. This study uses a qualitative method with the type of phenomenological study, the determination of informants about this research is determined by using purposive sampling techniques, in processing the research data using filling system techniques, the Filling System Method using research methods to find the collected data is sufficiently available so that an analysis is made. The results showed the fact of thirteen informants who were unable to control Facebook compilation, while five other informants were able to control facebook compilation. Those who are not able to control themselves in using Facebook who cannot control their behavior in Facebook access such as compilation writing their status still use bad languages, and they don't review what they wrote on their Facebook, they also still upload photos that less good is the photo by not wearing hijab

Introduction. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, which spread around the world in early 2020, special attention is paid to external transformations in human life: forced staying at home, using personal protective equipment in public places, social distance, etc. Nevetheless, the inner world of a man is susceptible to serious transformations. Another necessary element that structures the world of self (J. Deleuze’s point of view) is turning into a potential carrier of the virus. Therefore, the problem of human reflection with the goal of taking care of oneself in a crisis situation is of particular relevance. The aim of the study is to substantiate the effectiveness of spiritual practices of the period of Antiquity and the early Middle Ages as forms of caring of the internal in a person in the pandemic. Methods. The author uses general scientific methods: analysis and synthesis, induction, deduction, abstraction. In addition, a comparative historical method, an interpretation method and a systematic approach are applied. With the help of the dialectical approach, the connection between the external and the internal in a person was designated. Scientific novelty of the study. Three scenarios of human responses to self-isolation in the context of an event (external) – meaning (internal) are outlined: orientation to an external event; creating an external event; appeal to the self. Results. In the context of self-isolation, staying alone with himself, a person faced a problem, a crisis of identity (empirical evidence for this problem was provided by psychologists and psychotherapists in Chelyabinsk and the Chelyabinsk region). This problem is due to the fact that the pandemic has reduced many of the person’s connections with the outside world (work, study, relationships with friends and relatives) and / or transferred them to a remote format. Therefore, consciously or optionally, at the level of an unreasonable request, a person has a need to rethink his self. Rethinking is a reflexive procedure when a person re-learns to communicate with his self. M. Foucault analyzed and systematized examples of spiritual work with I, looking into the practices of care of the self in ancient thinkers’ and early Christians’ studies. Conclusion. The COVID-19 virus has made significant adjustments to human life. No less adjustments were made to the events (F. Girenok) that fill the life of a person. A man’s replies to changes in his being can be laid between two poles: event and meaning. Even while at home, many continue to focus on the external, creating something of their own (for example, audiovisual production) or consuming the results of others. At the same time, orientation to meaning involves focusing on oneself. Philosophers and theologians who practiced self-care about two millennia ago, proposed different forms of reflection, pursuing one goal, to learn to talk with oneself.

Purpose has been defined as an active engagement toward goals that are meaningful to the self (i.e., personal meaningfulness) and contribute to the world beyond the self (BTS). These BTS contributions may reflect the intention to meet a wide range of needs from family financial needs to more macro-level concerns, including social injustices. This study investigates the efficacy of a school-based program called MPOWER expressly designed by the authors to cultivate the BTS aspect of purpose. Previous research suggests that the BTS aspect of purpose has beneficial effects on school engagement, goal-setting abilities and orientations, and ultimately school performance. Ninety-four students participated in this study that utilized a randomized, pre-test-post-test between-subjects design to evaluate MPOWER (52 in MPOWER and 42 in the control group). The ANCOVA results indicated a significant increase in the BTS aspect of purpose among program participants, compared to controls. Moreover, participants had higher post-test levels of general self-efficacy and grade point averages, and decreased performance-approach (e.g., playing to be the best, comparing self to others) and performance-avoidance (e.g., avoiding risks of failure, fear of social consequences) goal orientations. Findings can be used to design programs that aim to cultivate students’ intentions to contribute to the world beyond themselves, as well as associated personal benefits (i.e., goal orientations, self-efficacy, academic performance).

In 2020, an event took place in the world community that entailed colossal changes in society – the coronavirus pandemic, which affected all spheres of human life (from economic to social), leading to a crisis not only financial, but also existential. The introduced self-quarantine affected all strata of society, and the created deprivation conditions had a negative impact on the psychological state of the personality, which enhances the relevance of the scientific study of this problem. In general, the work is aimed at analyzing approaches to the phenomenon of deprivation, considering its types and effects on the human body; highlighting the consequences of the self-quarantine, which affected the psychological state of people. As a methodology, a theoretical analysis of the literature on the research problem (retrospective, comparative analyzes, methods of generalization, systematization) was used. The article notes that the self-quarantine generates social deprivation of the personality, described in the psychological and related sciences, and entails many negative consequences for the state of people, to minimize which it is necessary to follow the proposed recommendations.

Abstract Our aim with this descriptive phenomenological study was to identify and describe the essential meaning structure in the experience of postpartum depression (PPD). We interviewed four women diagnosed with major depression and analyzed the data with Giorgi’s descriptive phenomenological method. Our analysis revealed two essential meaning structures of PPD. The first structure describes the mother as thrown into a looming, dangerous world, coupled with a restricted, heavy body that hindered her attunement to her baby. Tormented by anxiety, guilt and shame, she tried to deal with her pain by analytical reflection and social isolation. The second structure describes sudden lapses into intense feelings of alienation from the self, the baby, and from the social and material world. With a distorted primordial self-awareness, the mother no longer felt that she existed as herself in the world. We reflect on these findings using the insights of Fuchs, Van den Berg, Heidegger and Merleau-Ponty.

This study evaluated the psychometric properties of a self-report scale for assessing perceived driver competence, labeled the Self-Efficacy Scale for Driver Competence (SSDC), using item response theory analyses. Two samples of Swedish driving-license examinees (n = 795; n = 714) completed two versions of the SSDC that were parallel in content. Prior work, using classical test theory analyses, has provided support for the validity and reliability of scores from the SSDC. This study investigated the measurement precision, item hierarchy, and differential functioning for males and females of the items in the SSDC as well as how the rating scale functions. The results confirmed the previous findings; that the SSDC demonstrates sound psychometric properties. In addition, the findings showed that measurement precision could be increased by adding items that tap higher self-efficacy levels. Moreover, the rating scale can be improved by reducing the number of categories or by providing each category with a label.
