Development of digital competencies of high school students In the school informatics course by means of case technologies

In the context of digitalization of education, the article actualizes the problem of finding new and developing existing methods and means of teaching. Currently, case technologies have received a new update, which can be effectively used for the purpose of propaedeutics and the development of digital competencies in high school students, including in the context of specialized training. The article describes both the essence and features of this method as applied to the educational process of a modern school, and the experience of using specific cases of a controlling nature when students study information technologies as part of a school informatics course. From a methodological point of view, the presented material will be useful not only for school teachers, but also for university teachers involved in the professional training of future teachers of informatics.

The article presents the structure, content and results of approbation of the C++ programming course developed for the 10th grade students of physics and mathematics profile and implemented as part of the academic subject “Informatics”. The aim of the course is to develop in the student not only knowledge and skills in programming, but also his algorithmic culture and programming culture as important qualities of a potential IT-specialist. This is facilitated by special control of educational process by the teacher, which consists in monitoring the activities of students in writing programs and timely correction of this activity. The assessment of the level of development of student algorithmic culture and programming culture relative to the basic level of their formation (when mastering the basics of algorithmization and programming in the 9th grade) was carried out on the basis of a number of criteria presented in the article. The results of approbation showed that the specially organized teacher activity makes it possible to increase the level of algorithmic culture and programming culture of high school students when studying the basics of programming in C++.

Raising the level of digital education is one of the main challenges facing the education system now and in the future. The use of modern technical means in the learning process is an important prerequisite for achieving this ambitious goal. However, this must go hand in hand with the introduction of new scientific methods and teaching approaches. This article presents different approaches which the author has applied in her practice with high school students. It proves the benefit of their implementation in the educational process.

Background: Developing autonomy, the ability to solve problem situations, make decisions and act for the benefit of your social environment are modern life skills and can be developed in the school environment, along with mathematical content, and can be viable through the methodology of project projects, using active methodologies and the resources of digital technologies. Objectives: Discuss the Mathematics Curriculum or the work projects as a pedagogical proposition based on the development of three projects with the thematic Cryptography, Music, and Project launching applicable to the High School. Design: Qualitative research that sought to investigate work with projects in High School was used. Setting and Participants: Experiments developed with two classes of high school students in the Rio Grande do Sul state. Data collection and analysis: Data collection took place during the development of the project stages through students' written records and questionnaires. Results: It is considered that the Work Projects developed constituted a possibility to modify the role of the student and the teacher, allowing students to become active, participative, and committed to the development of their knowledge. Conclusions: It is understood that students, their learning and development must be the focus of the educational process. Therefore, the school curriculum must enable students to assume the role and responsibility for their learning.

ABSTRACTThis paper studies the construction of the notion of "good life" of young students of a high school as a result of the exchange of material and symbolic resources to members of their personal networks. In this research, the actors and their actions are treated as interdependent, so the relational ties between actors influence how young people construct their notion of good life and plan their future. The proposed study is based on the concept of personal networks in which the network is considered from the point of view of the subject, in this of young high school students who lived in a marginal urban area of Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. Since the study subjects are young with few opportunities and situations of social inequality we must know in which social structures they interact.RESUMENEl presente artículo estudia la construcción de la noción de “vida buena” de jóvenes estudiantes de un bachillerato universitario como resultado del intercambio de recursos materiales y simbólicos con los miembros de sus redes personales. En esta investigación, los actores y sus acciones son tratados como interdependientes, por lo cual los lazos relacionales entre los actores influyen en como los jóvenes construyen su noción de vida buena y planean su futuro. El estudio está planteado a partir del concepto de redes personales en el cual se plantea la red desde el punto de vista del individuo, en este caso los jóvenes estudiantes de bachillerato quienes son habitantes de una zona urbana marginal de Mérida, Yucatán, México. The study aims to explore the differential-regulatory predictors of academic performance in the graduating classes of high school. Conscious self-regulation is considered as a universal and exceptional resource for achieving educational goals in the final grades. In modern conditions of digitalization of the educational process and increasing information flows, the individuals’ ability to set goals and optimally achieve them, while maintaining curiosity, achievement motivation, and the desire to develop their personality, is of particular value. The main research question is: what regulatory, motivational, and personal characteristics of students with different regulatory profiles act as their psychological resources for successful school graduation? The study aims to investigate the contribution of regulatory, motivational, and personal characteristics to the annual assessment in mathematics and Russian in high school students with different profiles of conscious self-regulation. The following results were obtained from a sample of students in grades 9–11 (N = 355, average age M = 15.81 ± 0.926). Regression models of the contributions of regulatory, motivational, personal, and emotional-motivational indicators to the performance in mathematics and Russian were constructed for six selected individual typological groups of students. The results showed that only a high harmonious profile of self-regulation ensures that the student is “focused” on high academic achievements. Any conflict in the motivational or personal sphere distracts the resources of the graduate from educational activities. The process of self-regulation (Modeling) is suppressed in all groups as a result of preparation for exams. The regulatory profile and motivational and personal characteristics of students who risk not passing the examination tests without the intervention of teachers and psychologists are determined.

Bullying is a dangerous phenomenon that affects many modern students around the world. Bullying destructively affects a person regardless of the role (aggressor, observer, victim) and, despite measures to overcome, is present at school. Bullying (from the point of view of the contextual approach) is a social-group phenomenon that accompanies the development of a group with an unconstructive deformation of relationships in it. We conducted a research that reveals how Russian students are prone to bullying, how (taking into account gender and experience of it) are aware of its causes, who can stop bullying and whom they are ready to turn for help to if they become observers or victims of bullying. The results of the study showed that 46.8% of students felt oppressed during the school year (2018-2019). Students realize that the school class can stop bullying, but in a bullying situation they turn to parents, teachers, less to friends, do not mention the school class.

Introduction HIV/AIDS is one of the most dreaded diseases of this century. Condom use is probably the most effective way to combat the disease. Objective: To study the factors associated with condom use among high school students in Natitingou in 2017. Methods A descriptive cross-sectional analytical study involving 202 individuals, based on non-random sampling technique with exhaustive choice. Collected data were processed and analyzed with Epi-Data 3.1 and Epi-Info 7. Results 128 male and 74 female students were included in the study. Mean age was 19.51 years. Prevalence of condom use was 40.63%. Factors associated with condom use were: level of education, injecting drug use, knowing one’s HIV status, ease access to condom, friends' point of view on voluntary testing. Conclusions There is still room for improving the prevalence of condom use among high school students, and this suggests the social gradient perspective that other more in-depth studies will be able to specify.

The article highlights the importance of English reading as a type of linguistic activity that has great cognitive value and actually implements communicative, educational, and developmental function for high school students, and at the same time, considers the specifics of usage of innovative technologies as modern tools for English reading and learning a foreign language in general, as well as the suitability of using innovative technologies in the process of learning foreign languages at schools for high school students. There are many new methods of teaching English, and a necessary condition for choosing a particular method of teaching that is suitable for both teacher and student - knowledge of innovative learning technologies. Innovative technologies have become an integral part of a holistic educational process and can increase its effectiveness, as they affect the student's consciousness, feelings and will, form a creative personality that is able to effectively apply the acquired knowledge, skills and abilities in practice in any sphere of public life. English reading is a type of linguistic activity that allows not to imitate, but to reproduce one of the forms of real communication in English. With the help of reading in a foreign language, students get acquainted with the world of their foreign peers, with songs, poetry and fairy tales, available samples of children's fiction of the country whose language is studied. Looking at the process of reading from a psychological point of view, we can say that the process of perception and understanding of the text is directly related to thinking and memory. When a student perceives a text, he identifies the most important links in it and synthesizes them into a single whole. At the same time, memory helps logical and technical thinking. The main principles of integration of innovative technologies in the process of learning English are: movement from whole to separate, student-centred classes, purposefulness and relevance of classes, their focus on achieving social interaction facilitated by teacher’s faith in their students' success, language integration and language acquisition using knowledge from other fields of science. As a result of the use of innovative technologies, an information-rich educational process is created.

In the modern system of school education, there are approaches to the implementation of physical education content with the help of various variable modules based on the sports means use. The purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of the variable module "Wrestling" in the physical education of high school students on the main indicators of preparedness. Material and methods. The organization of study provided that during the 2017-2019 school years in Shchyrets secondary school №1 I-III degrees named after the Hero of Ukraine Bohdan Ilkiv of Shchyrets village council we introduced an experimental module "Wrestling" into the educational process of high school students in the discipline "Physical Culture". In general, in the 2017-2019 academic years to our study were involved 53 students of 10th forms (31 boys and 22 girls). In the 2017-2019 academic year – 74 students of 11th forms (41 boys and 33 girls). We used the following methods: theoretical analysis and generalization of scientific and methodical data of and sources of the Internet, analysis of documentary materials, pedagogical testing, pedagogical experiment, methods of mathematical statistics. There were selected 8 tests which determined the general preparedness, 12 tests for special preparedness. To determine the technical and tactical preparedness of students we fixed six basic groups of techniques which they had to demonstrate. Results and discussion. There are established the indicators of efficiency according to the percentage values of changes in the main groups of indicators (general, special, technical and tactical preparedness) of high school students. Finding out the level of general competencies allowed us to substantiate that there were significant changes in all indicators (p≤0.05–0.01). According to the analysis of special preparedness (competencies), we obtained a significant (p≤0.01) improvement in the results of most tests and control exercises. The percentage values can be observed significant variability in the levels of representatives’ changes in different subgroups. Conclusion. The study confirms a number of experts’ opinions that high school students need a little more time to form a sustainable level of preparedness and more profound adaptive changes in indicators of different preparedness components. The implementation of the structure and content of the variable module significantly affected the level of general and special competencies and technical and tactical preparedness of high school students (both girls and boys). However, the educational process in secondary schools cannot be equated in organizational and methodological conditions, basic tasks and the main purpose with training in sports sections

This article examines high school students’ features of socialization in a comprehensive school, as well as the terms of their socialization efficiency. The age characteristics of high school students are also considered, the main features that help to form socialization are identified. The approaches and main characteristics of socialization are determined. Based on the characteristics identified in the course of the study, the conditions were determined under which the formation of socialization would be more successful. It was revealed that the personality of the teacher and his successful intraschool development play an important role and are an essential condition for the successful socialization of the personality. It is mentioned, that the educational process management is necessary as not only the teacher, but the student as well plays an important role in socialization. Moreover, the student learns to independently determine his goals and objectives.
