The pig breeding behaves to the most more widespread directions of stock-raising in the world, which forms considerable part in balance of meat and meat products in many countries. The level of pork production and industry development volumes on the whole substantially influences on world food security. In the article the presented results of research are in relation to consisting and basic tendencies of pork production in the world and in the separate countries where the pig breeding is most developed. Conducted analysis of hog herds dynamics production and pork volumes in the world, and also basic factors which substantially influenced on development of the pig breeding for probed period are set. Certainly structural influence of most producers of pork is in the world on the indexes of industry development. Investigational the stance of pork production, and also conducted analysis of standard purchase prices, is on pigs in different countries in the world. Presented information in relation to the structure of pork export and import in the world and in the separate countries which most influence on pork market development. Positions and influence of Ukraine are appraised at the international market of pork. The basic prospects of pork production development are set and grounded in the world and in the separate countries, in particular in Ukraine. The production of pork in the world during 2017–2019 years decrease on 8.1 %, and the pigs herd dynamic diminished on 13 %. A sharp downstream of pork herd is in the world connected with spread of dangerous infectious diseases of zoon’s, which the African swine fewer, which resulted in considerable reduction of herd and meat production particular in China on which was nearly 40 % in world production. However, compensated a downstream in countries South-East Asia in a greater measure of industry development of the pig breeding in the USA, Brazil and EU, which behave to the basic exporters of pork in the world, which is form about 85 % of global products export. One with positive factors, which in the future will assist the pig breeding development in the world there is gradual growth of pork production and consumption in the developing countries, where an increase of herd, and also increase the technological efficiency of swine growing. The considerable not realized potential of the pig breeding industry in many countries, in particular in Ukraine, which is one of most in the world producers and exporters of feed crops, necessary for industry development.

Meat production and consumption have been claimed to have negative impacts on the environment, and even on the consumer’s health. In this sense, alternative sources of protein, mainly meat substitutes and cultured meat, have emerged due to those perceived negative effects. Our paper carries out a choice experiment to analyze the preferences of 444 Spanish consumers and their willingness to pay for plant-based and cultured meats, as compared to conventional meat. Spain was considered of interest for this study due to its significant gastronomic culture, with high-quality meat products that make a great contribution to the economy, meaning that this could be a suitable and also challenging market in which to test alternative sources of protein. The findings show that consumers’ motivations and their interactions with these products are complex. Additionally, a cluster analysis allowed us to identify three types of consumers in terms of preference for these products: price-sensitive millennials, conscious/concerned consumers, and indifferent consumers. Only one group showed some level of acceptance of these alternative products meats.

In this article we would like to present the production and consumption issues of pork meat in the world. We intend to examine the production and consumption of pork meat from the point of view of the population. The growing population of the world requires an increasing amount of food, especially animal source of protein, ie meat. We want to examine how the world can supply the growing population with food, including (pork) meat. The growing population generates ever-increasing consumption from year to year, and may not be able to satisfy it, adequately supplying the population with food, especially (pork) meat. Livestock farming, especially extensive animal husbandry, will be less able to produce sufficient quantities of meat for the growing needs. During the analysis of food (meat) data we would like to present the difference between each continent on both the production and the consumption side. Examining the pork consumption, it should be mentioned the differences in the cultural habits, because the pork meat is the most affected in religious restrictions, regulations. The religious affiliation/identity is basically determined by the food and consumer habits, too. Due to the differences in dietary habits and religious culture, we think that the consumption of pork can be highly variable in the world and from country to country as well. In general, we would like to answer questions about how the world (pork) meat production is going, is the meat consumed in the countries where it is produced (export – import issues), what are the factors that influence (pork) meat consumption (culture and religion impact on pork consumption, animal health issues), and is there enough (pork) meat for the world's growing population. Poultry meat production has doubled in past 40 years in the world, with the tendency of constant growth, and its production volume exceeds beef, but is behind pork production. For poultry meat production it is typical that its annual increase exceeds pork as well as beef production. The biggest producers of poultry meat are Asia, North and South America and Europe. The most significant category of poultry is meat of young chicken (broilers). Cobb, Ross and Hubbard broiler provenance are most common in Serbia. The objective of this investigation was to analyse poultry meat production volume in Serbia, observed during three six-years periods - A (1984-1989), B (1994-1999) i C (2004-2009). For data processing there were used the data obtained from Statistical Yearbooks of Serbia from 1984. to 2009. It was found out that average poultry meat production in period A was 108,33 ? 7,00 thousand tonnes, than it statistically significantly decreased and in period B it was 76,67?5,54 thousand tonnes, and finally in period C it was 72,17? 5,78 thousand tonnes.

The study presents changes in the world pork market and in Poland in the years 2000-2016. Changes in the main producers and consumers, as well as exporters and importers were presented. The major global producers of pork are China, the EU, USA, Brazil, Russia and Vietnam, which in 2016 produced 88.2% of total world production. In the world’s major pork producers (except China), consumption growth was slower than production growth, which increased their export capacity. In the years 2000-2016, the growth rate of international trade was higher than production, what led to an increase in the share of exports in production. Global pork exports is characterized by a large and growing concentration rate. In 2016, 37.6% of exports came from the EU, 28.5% from the USA, 15.9% from Canada and 10% from Brazil (total 92% of exports). World pork imports were characterized by a much greater dispersion than exports. Pork prices have shown an upward trend. In Poland there was a downward trend in pork production and growth in consumption, which caused that since 2008 Poland is a net importer of pork. Poland will remain a net importer of pork in the medium term.

Launch of the process of decarbonization of the economy and ratification of the Paris Climate Agreements in 2015-2016 puts the world’s coal industry in a difficult position. The purpose of the study is to identify the features of the development of the global coal industry, including regional ones, in anticipation of the active decarbonization of the world economy. For this, a quantitative analysis of the dynamics and structure of world coal production in 2010-2020 was carried out. As a result, it was revealed that the impact of the 2020 crisis did not become decisive for production. It can be compared to a price shock or the start of implementation of the Paris Climate Agreements. Some of the dynamics of the global coal production indicator is characterized by a weak declining trend (about minus 0.05% per year), although this indicator is generally unstable. The dynamics of coal production is characterized by the absence of an internal trend of self-development; autocorrelation is observed. The dynamics of coal production reacts to external shocks, while the regional differentiation of this indicator is growing. For 2010-2020 the share of North America and Europe fell to 13%, and the Asia-Pacific region – increased to 75%. Most developed countries are striving to reduce the production and consumption of coal (in the USA, Germany, Poland – by 25-50%), but many developing countries (India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Mongolia) are rapidly increasing production (by 30-70%). This is due to the possibility of exporting and using relatively cheap local fuel for economic development. Therefore, in the medium term, global coal production will remain stable with growing regional differentiation.

Changes in production and trends in shortages / market surpluses of butter and cheese in the world and in Poland in 2001-2017 were presented. Market surplus of butter increased in New Zealand, EU and Belarus, and decreased in Australia and Ukraine. Shortages grew in China, Mexico, Iran and Turkey, and decreased in Russia and Canada. Relatively balanced production and consumption occurred in India, Pakistan, the USA and Brazil. On the cheese market, surplus grew in: EU, USA, New Zealand, Argentina and Belarus, and decreased in Australia and Ukraine. The shortages grew in: Russia, Brazil, Mexico. In Poland, there were surpluses in butter and cheese production, which resulted in growing exports, directed mainly to EU countries. Prices of butter and cheese in EU countries and on the world market were characterized by convergence. At the beginning of the analyzed period, butter prices in the EU were 134% higher than on the world market, and cheese prices were higher by 92.6%, and in 2017 these differences were respectively 6% and 0.6%.

Meat and meat products are the most important food products in most countries of the world. The demand for meat products in the world is growing in accordance with the increase in the level of development of countries and the solvency of the population, and the growth of the world's population is also having an impact. Trends in the global meat market are determined by its largest exporters, including both developed and developing countries (the United States, the European Union, Brazil, Argentina, and China). In recent years, the activity of Asian and South American countries as participants in the global meat market has been growing. The world meat market is segmented by types of meat, each market segment is characterized by certain trends and has features, the study of which allows you to predict the direction of market development, the formation of new niches, which is important for Kazakhstan as a large and promising participant in world trade. The volume and structure of meat production in Kazakhstan, the position of Kazakh-stan in the world meat market as an importer and exporter are evaluated, the factors that hinder the growth of Russian production and export of various types of meat are identified, priority areas for increasing the activity and efficiency of Kazakhstan's participation in the world meat trade are identified. The article analyzes the trends in the development of world production and the world meat market in the context of its main segments: beef, pork, poultry markets; highlights the features of the commodity and geographical structure of the meat market, focuses on the study of world production and world trade in meat, pricing factors for various types of meat, new directions of development of the world meat market.

This paper argues that veganism is the ideal diet for a religious and spiritual biblically endorsed lifestyle. Both Christians and Jews are guided by the Old Testament’s injunctions and writings, which equally support a vegan lifestyle. Areas of discussion include G-d’s first intention, the biblical goals of preservation of health, compassion for animals, equitable sharing of food with the hungry, environmental protection and wellbeing, including conservation of resources, preserving and healing the world, seeking and pursuing peace. It concludes that in light of the animal, human and environmental impacts of modern livestock production and consumption, veganism is the moral, ethical and spiritually-supported choice for those who subscribe to lifestyles led and inspired by the stories, interpretations, commentaries, injunctions and guidance of the Hebrew bible. It also offers spiritually-directed followers a sacred way to actively, yet non-violently, oppose daily human, animal and environmental welfare violations caused by meat production and consumption.

The present research features comparative data on the dynamics of meat production and consumption in the Republic of Buryatia. The analysis revealed stability and a slight increase in meat production and consumption per capita. The main sources of raw meat in Buryatia are cattle, sheep, and pigs, whereas goats, horses, and yaks make up a small part of farm animals in the region and serve as an additional source of valuable animal protein. The article contains a review of academic literature that showed a growing interest in yak meat studies, e.g. its nutritional value and use in meat products. The present research demonstrated that the nutritional and biological value of yak meat was similar to beef. However, yak meat proved to be tough, dark in color, and with a specific taste and smell. According to the experimental studies, the nutritional value of yak meat depends on the altitude of habitat. For instance, the higher the altitude, the larger the content of polyunsaturated fatty acids. The content of connective proteins, which can affect the consistency of the end product, was higher by 12.1% in yak meat than in beef. The experiment showed that the process of glycolysis in yak meat was 24 hours longer than in beef. The yak meat was tough due to the higher level of connective proteins, while its darker colour could be explained by the high content of myoglobin. These properties should be taken into account in the production of highquality meat products.
