The aim of the study was to investigate and compare the role of parental discipline and parental relationship in detained delinquents and non-delinquents. Current study assessed parental factor associated with delinquency. Total sample comprised of two hundred (N=200) delinquents and non- delinquents with the age range of 10-18 year (M=15.76, SD= 1.93). Sample of one hundred (n=100) male juvenile delinquents was selected from different jails of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa. And One hundred (n=100) male non juvenile delinquents were selected from different schools of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through convenient sampling. It was hypothesized that that delinquent will score lower on parental relation and parental discipline. t- test, multiple regression and Logistic regression was used to explore the independent factor influencing delinquency. There were significant difference between delinquents and non- delinquents on the quality of parental relationship and parental discipline. It was revealed from the findings of the study that parenting factors contribute in delinquency. It has been found that most of juvenile commit criminal activity due to broken family such as parental separation, parental marital conflicts, and hostile behavior towards each other. Another noteworthy finding was harsh parent and strict parental discipline was found to be a pertinent contributor of delinquency. It was concluded that parental discipline and parental marital relationship significantly contribute towards delinquency in children and adolescents.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the role of neuropsychological impairment among delinquents and non- delinquents. The total sample comprised of two hundred participants consisting of one hundred juvenile and non-juvenile with age range of 10-17 years (M=15.76, SD= 1.93). Data was collected from the incarcerated subjects from three main jails of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa they include, Central Prisons of Kohat, Peshawar Swabi and Haripur with the help of Psychologists serving in the prison. It was hypothesized that delinquents will score higher on neuropsychological impairment scale as compared to non-delinquents. Neuropsychological impairment will be significantly correlated with the scores of delinquency. The results revealed significant impairment in the neurological functioning of the delinquents as compared to non-delinquents. In the present study six neuropsychological deficits were measured, they included neuropsychological emotional, learning, sensory motor, concentration, and neuropsychological depression in association with delinquency. Hence the results produced three key findings, first the sub-scales of neuropsychological impairment were significantly positively associated with delinquency. Second, sub-scales of neuropsychological impairment predicted variation in the magnitude of association with delinquency. Third, of all the six sub-scales neuropsychological emotional problems, neuropsychological motor problems and neuropsychological depression were slightly strongly associated with delinquency as compared to learning, sensory motor and concentration problem.

AbstractPressure ulcers (ulcers which caused by body pressure) are common problems in some sub-specific patients, such as, elderly patients, critical-ill and para paraplegia patients. Pressure ulcers induces problems: the costs involved, patients’ quality of life and mortality rate. Research purposed to compare the efectivity hydrocolloid dressing and sugar Povidine-iodine (1%) dressing. Research has been conducted within the 4 selected hospitals in 2 months period of time using non equivalen control group; pre and post test. Total sample was 25 patients, which divided onto 2 groups: hydrocolloid group and sugar povidineiodinee group. Pre-test was also done to obtain initial data to be used for further treatments with hydrocolloid dressing and sugar Povidine-iodine (1%) dressing. Each patient was treating for 3 weeks, and in each week was conducted a post-test. Results from processing the data obtained, indicating that there was no significant difference on wound size reduction. The cost involved was higher in the hydrocolloid group while the nursing time consumption was lower.

Objective To evaluate the effect of intra-articular injection of autologous micronized adipose tissue (MAT) with ankle arthroscopic debridement in patients with advanced-stage posttraumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA) of ankle. Design A retrospective cohort study investigating patients treated with arthroscopic debridement and autologous MAT injection for ankle PTOA was performed. Patients with Kellgren-Lawrence (KL) grade 3 to 4 were included. Visual analogue scale (VAS), Foot and Ankle Outcome Scores (FAOS), and patient satisfaction were evaluated. Results A total of 19 patients (19 ankles) were included (KL grade 3, 8 patients; grade 4, 11 patients). At a mean follow-up time of 14.3 months (range, 7-23 months), the mean FAOS subscales for pain and quality of life significantly increased from 48.8 and 20.1 preoperatively to 61.1 and 30.1 ( P = 0.029 and 0.048, respectively). The mean VAS score significantly improved from 6.1 to 3.8 (P = 0.003) at final follow-up. A total of 10.5% (2/19) of patients were very satisfied, 31.6% (6/19) satisfied, 26.3% (5/19) neutral, 21.1% (4/19) unsatisfied, and 10.5% (2/19) very unsatisfied with their outcomes. The overall FAOS score demonstrated a significant difference in pre- to postoperative change with 14.8 for KL grade 3 and 5.9 for KL grade 4 ( P = 0.048). Conclusions Autologous MAT injection is a safe and potentially beneficial procedure for advanced-stage ankle PTOA as an adjunct to arthroscopic debridement, although more than one-third of patients were unsatisfied with the procedure. This procedure may be more beneficial for KL grade 3 patients than grade 4 patients. However, future investigations are necessary to define the role of MAT for ankle PTOA.

Background: Asthma may be considered as a non-communicable condition associated with higher bronchial responsiveness that may impair quality of life (QoL). Purpose: The research aim was to compare scores of depression, as well as general and foot health-related QoL, in patients who suffered from asthma with respect to healthy subjects. Methods: A total sample of 152 subjects, median age of 37.00 ± 16.00 years, were recruited from a respiratory and allergy department of a hospital and divided into patients with asthma (n = 76) and healthy subjects (n = 76). The scores of the Spanish foot health status questionnaire (SFHSQ) domains as well as the Spanish Beck’s Depression Inventory (BDI) scores and categories were collected. Results: The only statistically significant difference (p < 0.05) was shown for the difference of the FHSQ footwear domain establishing that patients who suffered from asthma presented a worse QoL related to foot health for footwear (lower FHSQ scores) compared to healthy matched-paired participants (higher FHSQ scores). Regarding the rest of the outcome measurements, there were no statistically significant differences (p > 0.05) for the other FHSQ domains scores as well as the BDI scores and categories. Conclusions: Patients with allergic asthma presented impairment of the QoL related to foot health for footwear, which seemed to be linked to the presence of asthma.

Objective: This systematic review presents evidence regarding factors that may influence the patient’s subjective experience of an episode of mechanical restraint, seclusion, or forced administration of medication. Method: Two authors searched CINAHL, PubMed, SCOPUS, Web of Science, and Psych-Info, considering published studies between 1 January 1992 and 1 February 2016. Based on the inclusion criteria and methodological quality, 34 studies were selected, reporting a total sample of 1,869 participants. Results: The results showed that the provision of information, contact and interaction with staff, and adequate communication with professionals are factors that influence the subjective experience of these measures. Humane treatment, respect, and staff support are also associated with a better experience, and debriefing is an important procedure/technique to reduce the emotional impact of these measures. Likewise, the quality of the working and physical environment and some individual and treatment variables were related to the experience of these measures. There are different results in relation to the most frequently associated experiences and, despite some data that indicate positive experiences, the evidence shows such experiences to be predominantly negative and frequently with adverse consequences. It seems that patients find forced medication and seclusion to be more tolerable than mechanical restraint and combined measures. Conclusions: It appears that the role of the staff and the environmental conditions, which are potentially modifiable, affect the subjective experience of these measures. There was considerable heterogeneity among studies in terms of coercive measures experienced by participants and study designs.

Objective: The objective of the study was to investigate the role of activin A and follistatin (FS) in the differentiation between viable intrauterine pregnancy from missed miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy (EP). Study Design: This was a case–control study. Setting: This study was conducted at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Al-Yarmouk Teaching Hospital, from February 2017 to October 2017. Patients and Methods: The study included 90 pregnant women, aged from 21 to 40 years old in their the first trimester attending the outpatient and inpatient clinic with single fetal pregnancy with a gestational age range between 6th and 8th weeks, they were divided into three groups; Group A: Includes 30 cases with uncomplicated pregnancies in their first trimester, Group B: Includes 30 cases diagnosed as missed miscarriages, and Group C: Includes 30 cases diagnosed as EPs. Results: There was no significant difference in the maternal age and body mass index between the three groups, β-human chorionic gonadotropin, activin A, FS, and their ratio were significantly higher in the healthy intrauterine pregnancy compared to missed miscarriage and EP. Activin A and activin A/FS ratio had an excellent ability to discriminate EP from healthy intrauterine pregnancy, while FS alone had good ability to discriminate between EP and intrauterine pregnancy. Activin A had fair ability to discriminate missed miscarriage from intra healthy uterine pregnancy, while both FS and activin A/FS ratio had poor ability to differentiate missed miscarriage and intrauterine pregnancy. Conclusion: Activin A can be used with high accuracy as a biomarker for EP and missed miscarriage, FS alone, and activin A/FS ratio is a possible biomarker, but it offers lower accuracy compared to activin A alone.

Background Minimal change disease (MCD) is a common form of nephrotic syndrome in adults. However, the molecular mechanism underlying the pathogenesis of MCD remains incompletely understood. In this study, we aimed to investigate the role of the cytokines expression of Th1/Th2/Th17 and urinary CD80 excretion in adult-onset MCD patients. Methods The lymphocyte subsets, 34 cytokine levels of Th1/Th2/Th17, serum and urine concentrations of CD80, and expression of CD80 in glomeruli were analyzed in 28 cases (15 males and 13 females; average age: 34.1 years, age range: 18–56 years), including 10 patients with MCD in relapse, nine patients with MCD in remission and nine healthy controls. Results There was no significant difference of CD3+CD4+ cells proportion among patients with MCD in relapse, MCD in remission and healthy controls (P = 0.802). The cytokine levels of GM-CSF and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-related activation-induced cytokine (TRANCE) in patients with MCD in relapse increased 1.5 times higher than those in remission. An evident increase in the excretion of urinary CD80 was found in patients with relapsed MCD compared with those in remission (598.4 ± 115.8 vs 81.78 ± 7.04 ng/g creatinine, P < 0.001) and healthy controls (598.4 ± 115.8 vs 67.44 ±  8.94  ng/g creatinine, P < 0.001). CD80 expression was observed in podocyte of MCD patient in relapse by immunofluorescence technique. Conclusions The cytokines GM-CSF and TRANCE are increased and the urinary CD80 levels are elevated in adult-onset MCD patients in relapse, indicating a disorder of Th1/Th2/Th17 balance and that the elevated excretion of CD80 may underlie the pathogenesis and development of adult-onset MCD.
