The Covid-19 outbreak provided surprises and also provided challenges for various educational institutions, including universities. The government has banned universities from conducting face-to-face lectures. The government has issued a policy for implementing temporary courses online (Ministry of Education and Culture Dikti Circular No.1 2020). All universities are required to be able to conduct online or online learning. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of online lectures during the Covid-19 Pandemic for UAD Wates. This research method uses descriptive analysis method through a survey with a google form questionnaire which is conducted online. The sample in this study were students of UAD Wates class of 2017, 2018, and 2020. The respondents in this study were 15 respondents. The effectiveness of online lectures during the Covid-19 Pandemic for students at UAD Wates was quite effective in preventing the transmission of the Covid-19 virus. However, the results of the study also show that online lectures have not been running effectively, because there are still lecturers who do not conduct online lectures. The learning method used is still dominant with assigning assignments to students so that many students are overwhelmed in doing coursework.

This study examined two things: a) challenges confronting undergraduate students as a result of an abrupt transition to online learning in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and b) the coping techniques that they employed to tackle the challenges. Using Google Forms, interviews were conducted with 418 undergraduate students in one of universities in Surabaya. Qualitative thematic analysis of the interviews produced three findings. First, among the problems faced by the students are poorly done online classes, trouble interacting with lecturers and classmates, difficulty in accessing course resources, bad Internet connection, environmental distractions, and chaotic changes in class schedules. Second, as a result, the students suffered from increased stress and poor learning experience. Third, to survive, they employed three major coping techniques: problem-focused, emotion-focused, and appraisal-focused. This study concludes that students, lecturers, parents, and the government employ coping strategies that are both synergistic and antagonistic.

Education system in Indonesia is experiencing new challenges due to the Covid-19 virus outbreak, which has caused the entire learning system in educational institutions to be transferred to online learning methods. The disruption in the learning process causes some changes to students which ultimately affect the motivation to learn. This research uses a quantitative approach, with the sampling technique used is accidental sampling. The population in this study were all high school students who took part in the process online learning. The analytical method used to analyze the data obtained in this study uses the Mann Whitney U analysis method. This type of research uses the foundation of learning motivation theory and aspects from Chernis & Goleman's theory (2011). The results of this study indicate that the significance value of Mann Whitney U is 0,000 which means the motivation to learn in students who take online or online learning in the midst of the pandemic situation of the Covid-19 virus is decreasing, because the significance value of 0,000 is less than 0.05 (p <0,05).

The COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic required changes to be made, especially in formal education processes. In order for the students to stay safe and healthy, many educational institutions switched to the distance learning method for the rest of the semester and continued their education without any intermission. Due to this switch, there has been a rise in the usage of learning management systems, and as a result, students started to encounter technical problems, especially during the exam periods, or they simply wanted to obtain more information about academic or administrative issues. This study used frequency and percentage analysis methods and examined the support request tickets opened up by students during distance education. Resolving the encountered problems quickly and effectively is very important in order to protect the motivation of the learners and ensure their successes. It was seen in the study that the majority of the problems reported by the students were related to internet connection or to the problems occurred during exams. This study aimed to share experiences with the researchers and technical and administrative staff working in this field and to contribute to the current distance learning literature.

Abstract Background: Due to the common instability caused by political and security issues, Lebanese hospitals have experienced acts of terrorism multiple times. The most recent Beirut Explosion even forced several hospitals to cease operations for the first time in decades—but studies show the preparedness levels for such attacks in similar countries are low. Objective: The aim of this study is to explore the experience of Lebanese hospitals with terrorist attacks. Methods: This qualitative study used semi-structured interviews with various stakeholders to assess their experience with terrorist bombings. Data was analyzed using the thematic analysis method. Results: The researchers found that Lebanese hospitals vary greatly in their structures and procedures. Those differences are a function of 3 contextual factors: location, culture, and accreditation status. Hospitals found near ‘dangerous zones’ were more likely to be aware and to have better response to such events. A severe lack of communication, unity of command, and collaboration between stakeholders has made the process fragmented. Conclusion: The researchers recommend a larger role for the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) in this process, and the creation of a platform where Lebanese organizations can share their experiences to improve preparedness and resilience of the Lebanese healthcare system in the face of terrorism.

Social media, and especially popular youth-focused platforms like TikTok, can offer a valuable window into youth experiences, including their perceptions of online learning. Building on a large-scale thematic analysis of 1,930 TikTok videos posted in March-June 2020, this study examines how young people shared their experiences of online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Findings indicate that youth portrayed online coursework as overwhelming and relentless against the traumatic background of the pandemic. They sought support, empathy, and authenticity from teachers, and both received and provided emotional and educational support to peers on the platform. Students’ home contexts emerged as particularly salient, making visible the intersections between young people’s home, school and social lives. By facilitating a grounded, bottom-up understanding of students’ experiences and perceptions—shared in their preferred spaces and modes of expression—this research stresses the need to attend to youth perspectives to craft more equitable and empowering educational futures.

ABSTRACT A recent challenge in the field of education has been met as a shift to online classes from traditional face-to-face classes has been attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic. Hence, certain issues arise from such a sudden shift to an online learning environment, especially for those who have been mainly (or for others, solely) taught in a face-to-face setting. This paper aimed to determine the attitudes of Thai English learners towards online learning of speaking. The study involved fifty-four fourth year English majors in a university in southern Thailand. A survey questionnaire was developed to collect data. It consisted of a 5- point Likert scale asking for the students' level of agreement with statements and open-ended questions. The results show that the teacher being perceived as supportive and the students having a positive feeling when they had a stable Internet connection were the two areas that had the highest mean scores. On the other hand, being given enough opportunities to interact with classmates and preferring to participate in discussions using video (with microphone and video on) had the lowest mean scores. Moreover, the learners’ comments provided insights into their attitudes toward online learning in terms of preferences and challenges. Implications for teaching are then drawn from the results.
