Family support in adolescents with thalassemia undergoing treatmentBackground: Thalassemia is a chronic disease that affect to body organ caused by the disease itself and medication given in a long term. Compliance of taking medication becomes determing factor of treatment success. Family support is influential factor of therapy success. It includes instrumental support, informational support, assessment support, and emotional support.Purpose: The objective of this research is to know the description of family support therapy of adolescent with thalassemia in Garut.Methods: The method of this research is quantitative descriptive with total sampling technique (N=54) of adolescent with thalassemia population in Garut.Results: The result of this research is most of responden earn high support with maximum value of 70.4%, and medium support with value 29.6%, and there is no respondent with low support. From sub variable result as a whole, they obtained high support which was an instrumental support 70.4%, informational support 64.8%, assessment support 70.4%, and emotional support 53.7%.Conclusion: The result of this research is that most adolescent with Thalassemia obtained high support as many as 70.4%, therefore it can be factor determing therapy receivedKeywords: Family support; Adolescents; Thalassemia; Undergoing treatmentPendahuluan: Thalasemia merupakan penyakit kronis yang berdampak pada organ tubuh disebakan oleh penyakit itu sendiri dan pengobatan yang diberikan dalam jangka panjang. Kepatuhan menjadi faktor yang menentukan keberhasilan pengobatan. Dukungan keluarga merupakan faktor yang mempengaruhi kepatuhan pengobatan, yang meliputi dukungan instrumental, informasional, penilaian, dan emosional.Tujuan: Diketahuinya gambaran dukungan keluarga terhadap pengobatan remaja penyandang Thalasemia di kabupaten Garut.Metode: Metode penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik pengambilan sampel total sampling (N=54) dengan populasi yaitu penyandang Thalasemia usia remaja di kabupaten Garut.Hasil: Hasil penelitian dukungan keluarga sebagian besar responden mendapatkan dukungan tinggi dengan nilai maksimum yaitu 70.4% dan dukungan sedang dengan nilai minimum yaitu 29.6%, dan tidak terdapat responden yang mendapatkan dukungan rendah, dan dari hasil per subvariabel secara keseluruhan mendapatkan dukungan tinggi yaitu, dukungan instrumental sebesar 77.8%, dukungan informasional sebesar 64.8%, dukungan penilaian sebesar 70.4%, dan dukungan emosional sebesar 53.7%.Simpulan:  dari penelitian ini bahwa remaja penyandang Thalasemia sebagian besar mendapatkan dukungan tinggi sebanyak 70.4%, sehingga dapat menjadi faktor dalam menentukan pengobatan yang diterima

World Health Organization (WHO) states that the clinical signs that develop rapidly due to focal or global brain function disorders due to a blockage or rupture of blood vessels in the brain that lasted for 24 hours or more.This study aims to determine the Family Support Relationship With Quality of Life on Stroke Occurrence at Poly Nerve General Hospital of Makassar Hajj Area 2017. The research design was observational with cross sectional approach. Sample amounted to 54 by using simple random sampling technique. The result of the research was obtained by informational support with x2 count (4,352)> x2 table (3,841), emotional support p value (0,751)> 0,05, instrumental support with p value (0,346)> 0,05, award support with value x2 count (5,178)> x2 table (3,841). Based on the results of the study, the conclusion of this study found that there is a relationship of informational support and awards support, While emotional support and instrumental support is not associated with Quality of Life stroke incidence. This study suggests to families to provide more support to patients so as to improve the quality of life.Keywords           : Family Support and Quality of Life (QOL)

<p>TORCH is an acronym of Toxoplasmosis, Rubella, Cytomegalovirus, and Herpes simplex diseases. These diseases can cause abnormalities in the brain, impaired psychomotor and cognitive function, fertility, miscarriage, birth defects, etc. Infected TORCH patient tend to experience anxiety and worry after discovering he/she was diagnosed infected TORCH. For infected TORCH patient, family support is external factors that influence the treatment TORCH process. The purpose of this study was to describe the anxiety and family support on infected TORC patients in Klinik Utama Thursina Husada,Yogyakarta, Indonesia.<strong> </strong>The design of this study was descriptive qualitative with case study approach. All subjects in this study had worries on costly medical expenses TORCH. TORCH symptoms that asymptomatic made informants and family ever thought that it was a non-medical disease. Each informant can overcome the anxiety that they face because of emotional support, esteem support, instrumental support, and informational support from family. Infected TORCH caused the patient had anxiety and worries. Family support was very helpful in the process of TORCH treatment.</p>

Background : The Elderly is the most crucial stage where in humans naturally there is a decrease or change in physical, psychological and social conditions that interact with each other. Family support, family role, and family motivation are very important for the elderly to check their health to one of the health services, namely the elderly posyandu. Aim Of The Research : Knowing the family support of the elderly in participating activities in posyandu at Mawar Merah Region Health Center Juanda Samarinda. Research Method : This research uses a quantitative descriptive design with a survey approach that is using a questionnaire. The Sample used amounted to 30 respondents using purposive sampling technique. Result : Family support given to the elderly at Posyandu Mawar Merah is in the hihgh category of 20 respondents (66,67%), award support is categorized as low as 29 respondents (96,67%), instrumental support is categorized as moderate as many as 22 respondents (77,33%), emotional support was categorized as very high as many as 17 respondents (56,67%), informational support was categorized as hu=igh as 15 respondents (50%). Conclusion and Suggestion: It can be concluded that families provide support to the elderly, and families can further increase support for the elderly to check their health regularly.Keywords:  Family Support, Elderly, Elderly Posyandu

Background: The death rate of mother is one of indicator in society welfare to appreciate health mother efforts. Based on WHO, the number of death mother about 40% in developed country related to anemia because of iron substance deficiency. One of the component to serve pregnant woman’s health is to avoid anemia by giving 90 tablets (Fe3) of iron substance. One of psychology factor in pregnant woman which influence mother’s pregnant to consume tablet Fe is their husband’s support. Objective: To understand husband’s support for pregnant woman to consume tablet Fe in Godean II Public health Sleman Yogyakarta. Methods: This research is quantitative description.  The technique of sampling uses Total Sampling technique with 43 participants. To collect data uses close questioner and data analysis uses univariat analysis. Results: The husband support for mother’s pregnant to consume tablet Fe include some categories, there are: 22 (51,2%) participants are unsupported, most of instrumental support is unsupported which are 22 (51,2%) participants, most of informational support is unsupported which are 24 (55,8%) participants, most of valuation support is supported which are 26 (60,5%) participants, and most of emotional support is supported which are 27 (62,8%) participants. Conclusion: We can conclude that husband support for mother’s pregnant to consume Fe tablet in Godean II Sleman clinic of Yogyakarta is included in unsupported category which are 22 (51,2%) participants.   Keywords: Husband Support, Pregnancy, Tablet Fe

Menarche a physiological process in puberty as a sign of the maturity in women’s reproductive organs. For Muslim women, a menarche is also an important event, because it signifies that a woman becomes 'baligh' (adult). Previous research shows that girls feel scared and unprepared when menarche, and limited information about family support for children. The purpose of this study was to examine the readiness of children and the roles of Muslim parents in dealing with menarche. This study applied a quantitative descriptive approach, the samples were selected using the purposive sampling technique, 176 students and parents from SDIT Imam Bukhari school involved in this study. The instrument was a questionnaire that assesses children's readiness and parents’ roles in assisting menarche. Data were analyzed using a frequency distribution.More than half of girls have good readiness (54.5%), and other children in the category moderate or poor. Parents as educators have a good role in preparing girls (52.3%) in component needs, motives, and goals. Most children are ready in dealing with menarche and getting support from parents. Providing menarche information at school would help children readiness especially who are in categories moderate and poor.

BACKGROUND: Families have an important role in prevention for patients who are positive for coronavirus diseases (COVID)-19 with mild symptoms and without symptoms to recover. Support such as providing positive information, moral reinforcement, and special time given by the family is thought to strengthen mental health and can increase the immunity of the patient. AIM: The purpose of this study was to determine the role of family support in the recovery of COVID-19 patients. METHODS: Used was observational analytic with a cross-sectional approach. The subjects were 30 people who had family members diagnosed with COVID-19 and lived in one house and 30 patients recovered from COVID-19 in the islands of Java and Kalimantan. Data analysis used Fisher’s exact test and calculated the prevalence ratio to determine the most dominant role. RESULTS: The results showed that the p-value of the relationship between family support and the recovery of COVID-19 patients was 0.023, and the p-value of the relationship between components and the recovery of COVID-19 patients was emotional support (0.048), appreciation or appraisal support (0.007), informational support (0.023), and instrumental support (0.034). The prevalence ratio for each of these components was emotional support (PR = 0.714), followed by instrumental support (0.667), informational support (0.600), and appreciation or appraisal support (PR = 0.333). CONCLUSIONS: There is a significant role between family supports in the recovery of COVID-19 patients. Emotional support is the strongest component that plays a role in recovery of COVID-19 patients.

Introduction: Concern for good psychological condition of nurse regarding workload and social support in every job they do is an effective strategy to increase nurse job satisfaction. Nurse job satisfaction is important for the creation of better nurse performance. The purpose of the study was to explain the relationship between workload and social support with nurse job satisfaction in the inpatient room of RSUD Dr. Harjono Ponorogo.Method: The study used a descriptive correlational design with a cross sectional approach. The study population was 164 nurses in the inpatient room of RSUD Dr. Harjono Ponorogo. The sample size of 116 respondents was obtained by using cluster random sampling technique. The independent variables are workload and social support, while the dependent variable is nurse job satisfaction. The instruments used are workload questionnaire, social support questionnaire, and nurse job satisfaction questionnaire. Data analysis were used descriptive test and logistic regression test with a significant value of p ≤ 0.05.Results: There was a relationship between workload (p=0.000), social support (p=0,003), instrumental support (p=0.003), informational support (p=0.020), emotional support (p=0.004), appceciation support (p=0.019) with nurse job satisfaction.Conclusions: The light workload is characterized by a balance between the number of nurses and the demands of the existing task and good social support (instrumental support, informational support, emotional support, appreciation support), that nurses feel cared for and appreciated, can increase nurse job satisfaction. So that the performance of nurses increases and creates professional nursing services.

Introduction: Mental disorders are very dangerous for someone even though they do not directly cause death, if not handled properly, will cause intense suffering for the individual and family. The biggest problem faced by patients with mental disorders and their families is recurrence caused by non-compliance with medication, family and environmental factors. Objectives: The research objective was to determine the effect of social support, socioeconomic, knowledge, family support, and medication adherence on relapse in mental patients. Methods: The research method used quantitative descriptive with cross-sectional design. The study population was all patients with mental disorders who visited the Psychiatric Polyclinic of Santo Vincentius Hospital in January 2019, totaling 600 people. The research sample consisted of 110 patients with mental disorders who were taken using the purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used a questionnaire, the results of which were analyzed using multivariate data. Results: The results showed that social support (p-value 0.031, odds ratio 3.253), socioeconomic (p-value 0.012, odds ratio 3.557), knowledge (p-value 0.033, odds ratio 2.966), family support (p-value 0.015, odds ratio 7,845), and medication adherence (p-value 0.041, odds ratio 3.045) affected the recurrence of mental disorders patients at the Psychiatry Polyclinic of Santo Vincentius Hospital 2020. Conclusion: The variable that had the greatest influence on the recurrence of mental disorders was family support. It is hoped that the family always strives to increase their support for patients by motivating patients, especially in taking medication, trying to meet the needs of patients in their treatment, and improving communication with patients.

This study aims to determine the contribution of family support to the learning motivation of broken home children in grade X even semester SMK Negeri 9 Padang Academic Year 2019/2020. The population of this study was 418 people who were taken using 2019/2020, with a sample of 56 people who were taken using purposive sampling technique. The method used in this research is correlational quantitative descriptive. The data collection instrument used in this study was a questionnaire with a Likert scale model. Data analyzes were performed using statistical programs on the IBM Statistical 20 computer and Microsoft Excel. Based on the results of the study, data shows that there is a contribution of family support to the learning motivation of broken home children
