The curriculum is an inseparable part of an education system, because it is one component in determining the achievement of a goal. Likewise the Islamic religious education curriculum (PAI) also has a very central role in various educational processes in order to achieve the direction and purpose of Islamic education itself. Islamic education aims to develop all the potential that humans have based on the Shari'ah of Islam. However, the PAI curriculum in fact, still holds problems in life, for example the learning model is still dogmatic, repository and overlapping, and the religious concepts taught have no relevance in life in modern times today. Educators and all education staff are required to truly be able to understand the curriculum and be able to develop it. In developing an Islamic religious education curriculum (PAI) certain approaches are needed, so that the curriculum developed can lead students towards the desired changes. Educators can choose a number of approaches that are appropriate to their learning model and of course by paying attention to the characteristics of Islamic religious education itself. Among the approaches that can be used in curriculum development there are four, namely: academic, humanistic, technological and social reconstruction approaches. The developed curriculum can later be implemented by various PAI teachers in the teaching and learning process in schools.

Speaking on integrative thematic issues, it is inseparable from the 2013 curriculum. It is said so because the content or content of lessons in class presentations has been polished into one theme in which there are several subjects that have been integrated and one of them is the integration of Religion with Mathematics . The idea of integration of religious and general values is not a discourse to achieve academic sympathies, but rather an urgent need that must be carried out as a guide to existing education, given that education has been influenced by a strong dualism between the religious sciences and general sciences. In addition, the degradation of ethical values, morals and character of students also makes it a necessity for an institution to continue to teach all students about values without ignoring general lessons. So by presenting the integration of religious subjects and general subjects (mathematics), it is expected that all students have character values in themselves. This suggests that the implementation of Islamic education has a strategic portion in complementing the general education curriculum. That is, the learning process between general education and religion becomes the main process in creating human resources with the insight of science and technology, so that the added values obtained by students with the implementation of Islamic learning which certainly leads to the cultivation of morals, morals, and behavior of participants better students.

This study aimed to investigate several concerns as the following: the position and functions of masjid, the conditions of the teenage spiritual crisis, and the optimization of masjid as an Islamic education facility in Banda Aceh. The study used the qualitative method. Data were collected by observation, interview, and documentation. The results of the study showed that masjid in Banda Aceh has become the center of Muslim community activities in terms of religious and educational affairs, among others (i.e., worship place). The teenagers in Banda Aceh have mostly faced spiritual crises such as ignoring adhan (calling for prayers), neglecting congregated payers, not performing any prayer at all, and being busy with activities. These issues were highly likely to be influenced by drugs, illegal racing, wasting time in coffee shops, and immoral behaviors (i.e., free sex). Therefore, masjid as an important Islamic education center has been optimized through several ways, two of which included regular Islamic learning groups and teenagers’ activities under the coordination of the masjid.

Islamic multicultural education in formal education can be implemented since elementary school. The purpose of this article is to describe the application of multicultural education with moderate Islamic values through the learning process in elementary schools to shape the character of nationalism in Indonesia. The qualitative method was used in this study to see the phenomena that occur in the field. The data analysis used was the source and technique triangulation method. There were 8 respondents from three elementary schools, namely Sekolah Dasar Negeri 7 Kota Metro, Sekolah Dasar Negeri 4 Kota Metro, and Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 1 Kota Metro. The research instruments used were interviews, observations, and documentation, which were then analyzed through inductive thinking. The development of multicultural education and moderate Islamic values in shaping the character of nationalism was done through the integration of moderate Islam by instilling tawassuth, tassamuh, tawazun, and amar ma'ruf nahimunkar attitudes by introducing the surrounding environment as a cultural plurality (contextual approach) and instilling an attitude of tolerance and able to coexist with other people. These three steps were developed by the teachers in structured lesson planning by formulating goals, setting essential material, carrying out the learning process, and carrying out attitude assessments.
