The aim of this study is to analyze and describe the slogans of aviation companies in Asean companies syntactically and semantically. The method used in this study is descriptive method. This research entitled “The News Report of Metro TV Reporter: The research of effective sentence”. The aim of this research was to find out the description, error, and percentage of effective and ineffective sentence in the news report of Metro TV reporter. The used theory refer to some ideas from the experts, those are Keraf (1980), Razak (1986), Sugono (2001), Putrayasa (2014), and Agency of Language Development and Coaching (2014). The used method to collect the data in this research was observation method, then the data was analyzed with qualitative descriptive method, quantitative method, and agih method. Method of presenting analyzed data that used in this research were formal and informal method. Data source in this research was from twelve videos of news report of Metro TV reporter in 2018. The result of this research showed that Metro TV reporter's understanding of the use of effective sentences reach 30, 22% from 12 news reports. This is proven by the discovery of 97 ineffective sentences out of 139 sentences. The error of ineffective sentence in news report of Metro TV reporter was divided into four kinds, those were the accuracy of information 7 sentences (5.03%), stiffness 6 sentences (4,32%), efficiency 48 sentences (34.53%), multiple errors and plural 36 sentences (25.90%). The total percentage of the error ineffective sentence as a whole was 69.78%. Based on this percentage, the highest frequency of errors was in the aspect of efficiency.

This study aims to describe the cultural values ​​contained in the Hikayat Banta Amat Volume I and II by T. A. Sakti. Cultural value is very important to be studied in order to preserve the cultural heritage of the people of Aceh so that it can be known by the younger generation and re-cultivated in life in the present. The formulation of the problem raised in this study is how the cultural values ​​contained in the Hikayat Banta Amat Volume I and II by T. A. Sakti. The data source in this research is Hikayat Banta Amat Volume I and II by T. A. Sakti. The selected data is each quotation that has a relation to cultural values ​​in the saga. The approach and method used in this research is a qualitative approach and a descriptive method by describing the facts which are then followed by analysis. The cultural values ​​analyzed in Banta Amat sects are grouped according to five categories, namely (1) cultural values ​​in human relations with God, (2) cultural values ​​in human relations with nature, (3) cultural values ​​in human relations with other humans, (4) cultural values ​​in human relations with society, and (5) cultural values ​​in human relations with oneself. The results showed there were 37 quotations related to cultural values ​​that exist in the Banta Amat saga, namely: (1) Cultural values ​​in the human relationship with God there are 6 values ​​in 24 quotes; a) Give thanks to God 3 quotes, b) Give to Allah the Prophet 1 quote, c) Pray and ask God 9 quotes, d) surrender to God 8 quotes, e) Fear God 1 quote, and f) Obey to worship God 2 quotes, (2) Cultural values ​​in human relations with nature are found in 2 quotations about utilizing the forest, (3) Cultural values ​​in human relations with other humans there are 3 values ​​in 4 quotations; a) respect for others 2 quotes, b) say greetings 1 quote, and c) answer greetings 1 quote, (4) Cultural values ​​in human relations with the community there are 3 quotes namely about mutual care, and (5) Cultural values ​​in relationships humans with themselves there are 3 values ​​in 4 quotes; a) Never give up 2 quotes, b) responsibility 1 quote, and c) hard work 1 quote. Based on the results of the study it can be seen that the cultural values ​​in the human relationship with God are more numerous than the other values. This illustrates that the people of Aceh are religious and devout people who worship God. Suggestions from researchers that the people of Aceh continue to preserve cultural values ​​such as the Banta Amat saga in daily life. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai budaya yang terkandung dalam Hikayat Banta Amat Jilid I dan II Karya T. A. Sakti. Nilai budaya sangat penting untuk dikaji guna melestarikan warisan budaya masyarakat Aceh agar dapat diketahui oleh generasi muda dan kembali dibudidayakan dalam kehidupan pada masa sekarang. Rumusan masalah yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana nilai budaya yang terkandung dalam Hikayat Banta Amat Jilid I dan II Karya T. A. Sakti. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah Hikayat Banta Amat Jilid I dan II karya T. A. Sakti. Data yang dipilih adalah setiap kutipan yang ada kaitannya dengan nilai budaya dalam hikayat. Pendekatan dan metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dan metode deskritif dengan mendeskripsikan fakta-fakta yang kemudian disusul dengan analisis. Nilai budaya yang dianalisis dalam hikayat Banta Amat dikelompokkan berdasarkan lima kategori, yaitu (1) nilai budaya dalam hubungan manusia dengan Tuhan, (2) nilai budaya dalam hubungan manusia dengan alam, (3) nilai budaya dalam hubungan manusia dengan manusia lain, (4) nilai budaya dalam hubungan manusia dengan masyarakat, dan (5) nilai budaya dalam hubungan manusia dengan diri sendiri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 37 kutipan yang terkait dengan nilai budaya yang ada dalam hikayat Banta Amat, yaitu: (1) Nilai budaya dalam hubungan manusia dengan Tuhan terdapat 6 nilai pada 24 kutipan; a) Bersyukur kepada Allah 3 kutipan, b) Berselawat kepada Nabi Allah 1 kutipan, c) Berdoa dan memohon kepada Allah 9 kutipan, d) menyerahkan diri kepada Allah 8 kutipan, e) Takut kepada Allah 1 kutipan, dan f) Taat beribadah kepada Allah 2 kutipan, (2) Nilai budaya dalam hubungan manusia dengan alam terdapat pada 2 kutipan tentang memanfaatkan hutan, (3) Nilai budaya dalam hubungan manusia dengan manusia lain terdapat 3 nilai pada 4 kutipan; a) menghormati orang lain 2 kutipan, b) mengucapkan salam 1 kutipan, dan c) menjawab salam 1 kutipan, (4) Nilai budaya dalam hubungan manusia dengan masyarakat terdapat 3 kutipan yaitu tentang rasa saling peduli, dan (5) Nilai budaya dalam hubungan manusia dengan diri sendiri terdapat 3 nilai pada 4 kutipan; a) Pantang menyerah 2 kutipan, b) tanggung jawab 1 kutipan, dan c) kerja keras 1 kutipan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat dilihat bahwa nilai budaya dalam hubungan manusia dengan Tuhan lebih banyak dari nilai yang lainnya. Hal ini menggambarkan bahwa masyarakat Aceh adalah masyarakat yang religius dan taat beribadah kepada Allah. Saran dari peneliti agar masyarakat Aceh terus melestarikan nilai budaya seperti pada hikayat Banta Amat dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Kata Kunci: Hikayat, Nilai Budaya

This paper discusses the use of yari-morai phrase (jujuhyougen) found in a novel data source titled Shiro no Naka no Hito. The purpose of this study is to describe the use of expressions of acceptance using Natsuko Tsujimura's theory. The items analyzed in this study are the function, role, and social distance of each argument. From the data analysis, it is found that when analyzed in a syntactic way, each argument functions as a subject and is a direct object or an indirect object. In semantic analysis, from the use of his verb, every argument plays the role of agent and beneficiary. Whereas from the use of passive expressions, each argument acts as a source and a goal. If pragmatic analysis is used, the use of the expressions is influenced by the vertical distance. However, formal situations are more important than existing vertical distances. So that also affects the use of proper expressions.

The purpose of this study are (1) to describe the value of struggle in novel Kami (Bukan) Sarjana Kertas by J.S. Khairen (2) describes the value benefits of internal struggle in novels Kami (Bukan) Sarjana Kertas. The method in this research is using descriptive method analytic by reading, taking notes, and analyzing every sentence in the novel which contains elements of literary sociology. The data source of this research came from novel Kami (Bukan) Sarjana Kertas by J.S.Khairen. The novel itself is produced from events social life of the community and the author himself. Therefore, the novel contains a variety the dynamics of life that occur in the community. This research is aimed at describes the sociological aspects of literature in the novel Kami (Bukan) Sarjana Kertas J.S. Khairen. The form of data from this research is in the form of sentences in the novel that contain elements of the values of struggle. The results of this novel research are to describe (1) the value of the willing sacrifice (2) the value of cooperation (3) the value of patience and never give up (4) the value of unity (5) the value hard work. The benefits are (1) the value of self-sacrifice (2) the value of cooperation (3) the value of patience and never give up (4) the benefit of the value of unity (5) the benefit of the value of hard work.

ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi: (1) nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang terdapat dalam petetah-petitih Sunan Gunung Jati; (2) pemanfaatan nilai pendidikan karakter dalam petatah-petitih Sunan Gunug Jati untuk menerbitkan dongeng dan fabel pembentuk karakter positif pada anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan sumber data berupa kumpulan petatah-petitih Sunan Gunung Jati. Terdapat 43 nasihat yang tertulis dalam buku Kesusastraan Cirebon karya Untung Rhardjo. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang telah dilakukan, peneliti menarik simpulan bahwa (1) semua petatah-petitih Sunan Gunung Jati yang berjumlah 43 memiliki nilai pendidikan karakter yaitu, religius, jujur, toleransi, disiplin, kerja keras, kreatif, mandiri, demokratis, rasa ingin tahu, semangat kebangsaan, cinta tanah air, menghargai prestasi, bersahabat/komunikatif, cinta damai, gemar membaca, peduli lingkungan, peduli sosial, dan tanggung jawab. (2) Nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter dalam petatah-petitih Sunan Gunung Jati dapat dijadikan sebagai materi dalam buku pengayaan berupa kumpulan fabel sebagai pembentuk karakter positif untuk memperkaya imajinasi dan mengembangkan literasi peserta didik.KATA KUNCI: nilai pendidikan karakter; petatah-petitih. EXPLORATION CHARACTER EDUCATION VALUE IN PETATAH-PETITIH SUNAN GUNUNG JATI ABSTRACT: This research aims to explore: (1) the values of character education contained in the petetahs of Sunan Gunung Jati; (2) utilization of the value of character education in the quotes of Sunan Gunug Jati to publish fairy tales and fables that form positive character in children. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with the data source in the form of a collection of Sunan Gunung Jati slabs. There are 43 pieces of advice written in the book Kesusastraan Cirebon by Untung Rhardjo. Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out, the researcher concludes that (1) all 43 pieces of Sunan Gunung Jati have character education values, namely, religious, honest, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, spirit of nationality, love of the country, respect for achievement, friendly/ communicative, love peace, love to read, care for the environment, care for social, and responsibility. (2) The values of character education in the quotes of Sunan Gunung Jati can be used as material in an enrichment book in the form of a collection of fables as positive character builders to enrich the imagination and develop literacy of students.KEYWORDS: character education value; petatah-petitih.

Penelitian ini berjudul Wawacan Siti Permana Karya M.K. Mangoendikaria (Kajian Struktural dan Antropologi Sastra). Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan: 1) struktur formal Wawacan Siti Permana, 2) struktur naratif Wawacan Siti Permana, 3) unsur-unsur antropologi sastra dalam Wawacan Siti Permana. Sumber data dari penelitian ini adalah Wawacan Siti Permana yang ditulis oleh M.K. Mangoendikaria. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Teknik penelitian yang digunakan adalah teknik studi pustaka. Wawacan Siti Permana menceritakan sosok wanita yang cantik, bernama Nyi Siti Permana, selaku anak dari lurah désa Cigéréléng, banyak pria yang terpikat olehnya. Pupuh yang ditemukan terdapat 10 pupuh dengan 526 paragraf, yaitu pupuh dangdanggula, pupuh asmarandana, pupuh kinanti, pupuh pangkur, pupuh magatru, pupuh sinom, pupuh mijil, pupuh maskumambang, pupuh  lambang, dan pupuh pucung. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) struktur formal Wawacan Siti Permana terdiri dari guru lagu dan guru wilangan pupuh, watak/karakter pupuh, serta sepuluh sasmita pupuh, 2) struktur naratif Wawacan Siti Permana meliputi: a) alur cerita campuran dan ada 18 episode, b) terdapat lima motif cerita, c) tokoh cerita terdiri dari 12 tokoh, d) latar cerita meliputi latar tempat, latar waktu, dan latar suasana, e) tema cerita dalam Wawacan Siti Permana yaitu kasih sayang, f) terdapat kolofon yaitu pada jaman perang Itali dan Absinia, dan g) tidak ditemukan adanya manggalasastra, 3) unsur antropologi sastra Wawacan Siti Permana meliputi: a) sistem kepercayaan (religi) meliputi tiga aspek, b) organisasi sosial/organisasi kemasyarakatan meliputi dua aspek, c) ilmu pengetahuan terdiri dari delapan aspek, d) bahasa meliputi tiga bahasa, gaya bahasa, dan babasan paribasa Sunda, e) terdapat empat kesenian, f) sistem mata pencaharian terdapat 16 mata pencaharian, g) sistem tekhnologi meliputi enam aspek. Wawacan Siti Permanamempunyai banyak nilai-nilai didalamnya dan sangat penting untuk kekayaan kebudayaan hususnya untuk masyarakat Sunda. AbstractThis research is entitled Wawacan Siti Permana of M.K. Mangoendikaria (A Structural and Anthropological Literature Study). This study aimed to describe (1) the formal structure; (2) the narrative structure; and (3) the elements of the anthropological literature in Wawacan Siti Permana. The data source of this research is the text of Wawacan Siti Permana of M.K. Mangoendikaria. The research employed descriptive method. This study used the technique of literature study. Wawacan Siti Permana tells a story of a beautiful woman, named Nyi Siti Permana. She is the daughter of the Head of Cigereleng Village. Many men are lured by Siti Permana. In the text, there are 10 pupuhs with 526 paragraphs. They are Pupuh dangdanggula, Pupuh Asmarandana, Pupuh kinanti, Pupuh Pangkur, Pupuh Magatru, Pupuh Sinom Pupuh Mijil, Pupuh Maskumambang, Pupuh Lambang, and Pupuh Pucung. There are some of the results of this research. (1) The formal structure of Wawacan Siti Permana consists of guru lagu and guru wilangan of the pupuhs, characters of the pupuhs, and ten sasmitas of the pupuhs. (2) the narrative structure of Wawacan Siti Permana includes (a) a mixture storyline with 18 episodes; (B) five motifs of story; (C) 12 characters of the stories; (D) the background of place, time setting, and background of ambience; (E) the theme of compassion; (F) The colophon of days of the war between Italy and Ethiopia; and (g) no manggalasastra. (3) The elements of anthropological literature are (a) the three aspects of the belief system (religion); (b) two aspects of social organization; (C) the eight aspects of science; (D) three languages, style, and Sundanese babasan-paribasa; (E) four arts; (F) 16 livelihood; (G) six aspects of technological systems. Wawacan Siti Permana contains many important values and cultural wealth of the Sundanese people.

The title of this undergraduate thesis is Ellipsis in English Coordinated Clauses in the Novel Entitled 44 Scotland Street by Alexander McCall Smith. The aims of the study are to classify the types of ellipsis and to analyze the position of ellipsis in coordinated clauses. The data of this study were in the form of the English coordinated clauses with coordinating conjunction and, or, and but which were found in a novel entitled 44 Scotland Street by Alexander McCall Smith. The data were collected by using documentation method which was done by close reading on the data source, taking note, and continued by classification. This study used the theory of ellipsis proposed by Quirk, et al (1972) presented by using qualitative method in analyzing the data. The collected data were identified according to the categories of the types and the occurrence of ellipsis in coordinated clauses. This study used descriptive method in presenting the data. The result of this study shows that the types of ellipsis in coordinated are divided into six major namely: ellipsis of subject, ellipsis of auxiliary, ellipsis of subject and auxiliary, ellipsis of predication, ellipsis of head of noun phrase, and ellipsis of subject complement.  Ellipsis of subject is the most frequently used type of ellipsis that occur in the data. The ellipsis can occur in the first and in the subsequent clauses in coordinated clauses. However, the ellipsis in the data is mostly anaphoric with the realized items in the first of a series of the clauses.

Introduction. The article analyzes the oikonyms of the modern Odessa region, which were formed during the Turkish-Tatar (Nogai) history of this region. The genetic Turkic names that the Bulgarian settlers moved to a new place of residence from their homeland (or from the territory of Turkey) during the end of the XVIII – first half of the XIX century are analyzed. These names were changed as a result of administrative intervention by the Soviet authorities, mainly during 1944–1945. Аim. The study aims to carry out etymological and structural-semantic analysis of genetically Turkic oikonyms of modern Odessa region. The object of the study is the genetically Turkic names of the settlements of Odesa region (local and transferred by Bulgarian settlers from across the Danube), which were changed administratively mainly after 1944; the subject of research is to find out the etymologies of the corresponding oikonyms and their structural and semantic characteristics. Research methods. For the analysis of oikonyms the descriptive method is applied by means of which the structure of both historical (genetically Turkic), and new (Soviet period) names is characterized, and also reception of the etymological analysis for establishment of etymons of genetically Turkic names of settlements. Research results. The article identifies word-forming models, presents the classification of genetically Turkic oikonyms of Odesa region, clarifies the dеonymic motivation of their creative bases; the structure of new (renamed) names is characterized. Conclusions. It is proved that most renamings do not take into account either the derivation model, which formed the original name of the settlement, or the appellate (onym) meaning of the creative bases, which convincingly testifies to their artificial nature, lack of connection with local nature, historical and cultural features of the region. It should be noted that it is necessary to change the names of the modern Odessa region, in particular the names with the Russian imperial connotation (Alexandrovka, Suvorov), as well as with the Russian-speaking structure (Udobne, Utkonosivka).

An illocutionary act is a speech act that is usually identified by explicit performative sentences. The research on illocutionary acts in vlogs is an action that shows the meaning of speech during communication. This study aims to describe illocutionary acts on Fiersa Besari's vlog YouTube channel Jangan Lupa Senyum Part 1 along with its speech function. The method used in this research is the descriptive method. The form of research used here is qualitative research. The data source in this study is the vlog Jangan Lupa Senyum Part 1 on the Fiersa Besari YouTube channel. The data in this study are transcripts of conversations between characters in vlogs. Data collection techniques in research using the observation method and note-taking techniques. The findings in the research in this vlog were only 15 utterances of illocutionary speech acts. From the 15 utterances, 7 data on assertive illocutionary acts, 2 directive illocutionary acts, and 7 expressive illocutionary acts. From this research, it is expected that we can understand the function of illocutionary acts that are relevant to everyday life

This study  aimed to determine the structure and social function of folklore legend naming Batunabontar Batang Natal district Mandailing Natal district. The method used in this research was descriptive method. The data source of this research was the people who inhabit Batunabontar village, Batang Natal District, Mandailing Natal District. The instrument used in this study was the researcher himself and the informant based on the understanding of the structure and social function of the naming legend of a place. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation by observation and to strengthen the data obtained, direct interviews were carried out to the authorities in research on the Social Structure and Function of the Legend of the Naming of Batunabontar Village, Batang Natal District, Mandailing Natal District. The results of this study indicate that the Social Structure and Function of Naming Legend of Batunabontar Village, Batang Natal District, Mandailing Natal District has a unique history and structure and function in the village. The uniqueness of this Batunabontar makes the writer want to know the importance of the structure and function of the Batunabontar in Batang Natal District, Mandailing Natal Regency.
