Social remittances (ideas, system practice, and social capital flow from the receiving country to the home country) of Indonesian female migrant workers (BMP) in Hong Kong appeared better and more complete than other BMP in other countries like Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, or Singapore.  Based on that research, we are encouraged to do extensive research in order to identify factors  that push  BMP’s social remittances development  in Hong Kong, to identify kinds of social remmitances they receive  and to understand on how far their social remittances become a medium to empower them and their society.  This study is done in qualitative method that uses an in-depth interview technique and FGD.  Subjects of study are BMP, the government (Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration and BNP2TKI), NGOs, migrant workers’ organization and researchers of BMP. The study done in Cianjur (West Java), Wonosobo and Banyumas (Central Java) and Hong Kong indicates that during their migration process, female migrant workers not only have economical remittance that can be used for productive activities, but also social remittances.  The social remittances are in the form practical knowledge such as language skill and nursery; knowledge on health, financial management; ethical work; the mindset changing and networking. The study  indicate that female migrant workers are extraordinary women more than just an ex-helper.  Their migration has put them into a position as an agent of development in society.Key words: Indonesians  female migrant workers, social remmitances, empowerment

The digital transformation is permanently changing the government, administration, and society . This process is being intensified by the much-discussed technologies of artificial intelligence, and poses a variety of challenges for parliaments and indirectly for parliamentary studies . Their different dimensions have not been discussed comprehensively so far, although the technological developments affect all parliamentary functions and their premises . This article systematizes and structures the various effects of the age of artificial intelligence on parliamentary democracy . Namely, the conditions of democratic representation change, the innovation-friendly regulation of digital technologies becomes a parliamentary task, parliamentary control has to be adjusted to the use of algorithms and artificial intelligence in government and administration, and possibly, the epistemological and organizational structures of parliamentary work might have to be adapted . This provides starting points for future detailed analyses to adequately capture these processes of change and to accompany them from different disciplinary perspectives .

The article is devoted to the analysis of the development and control of the operation of the functional mock-up of the information service for automated monitoring and short-term forecasting of severe earthquakes in the Kamchatka-Sakhalin region. The tasks of the service mock-up concerning the collection, processing of data on earthquake precursors, the forecasting of severe (earthquake magnitude 6 or more) earthquakes in the form of estimates of the times of their onset, coordinates of epicenters (latitude and longitude) and earthquake magnitudes are determined. Taking the geoinformational character of the initial data on the approaching earthquakes as the basis for constructing the mock-up of the service, a geo-integration platform is proposed. This allows the integration of the information resources of the earthquake precursor monitoring systems, the functions of processing monitoring information into earthquake forecasts, the results of generating earthquake forecasts and their presentation to consumers into a single geoinformation environment. The composition of the service mock-up and the functioning of such elements as microservices are considered: collection and processing data from receivers of radio navigation signals of the GPS/GLONASS systems; collection and processing of data on the global distribution of TEC in the ionosphere; collection and processing of data on geomagnetic conditions, the flux of solar radio emission, thermal anomalies, as well as data concerning the atmospheric anomalies over the test site area and a unit for presenting and communicating the results of the operation of the information service mock-up for automated monitoring and short-term forecasting of severe earthquakes. The results of service operation are illustrated with the help of examples of retrospective forecasting of a number of severe earthquakes that occurred over the past 10 years in the Kamchatka-Sakhalin region, according to their precursors.

Workers in the global South are becoming increasingly sensitive to their pension rights. In recent years, rural migrant workers in China have staged a series of protests to fight for pension protection. Drawing from two in-depth case studies conducted in the Pearl River Delta, we explain why workers staged pension strikes, what these protests looked like, how the employers and the government responded, and how these protests differed from previous strikes. Building upon insights from the sociology of collective action and labour process theory, we formulate a new framework for examining labour protests. In addition to seeing workers’ collective action as defensive or offensive, this framework helps us interpret these actions in relation to the spheres of production and reproduction. It classifies pension strikes in China as defensive actions located in the sphere of reproduction, which are distinct from previous strikes that were either defensive or offensive actions situated in the sphere of production. This synthesised framework assists us in theorising that workers’ protest activities, especially in the global South, are not restricted to the traditional production sphere but can also be found in the reproduction sphere.

Technological developments and changes in government systems are developing rapidly. Both of these lead to efforts to carry out duties, protect functions and serve the community. This encourages the government to take various adjustment steps quickly in line with the dynamics of development that occur. One of them is through a population census. The population census is an important issue that must be handled properly. The population census in this study takes population data in an area based on the number of male population, female population, ratio, and population density. The data was taken and submitted to the Makassar City Statistics Agency. Population Census is a presentation of information that has the ability to present accurate information, and helps facilitate the search for a population census data. The population census is carried out every 5 years which is carried out by census officers to carry out data collection to each resident's house, the data collection process is carried out by conventional recording and submitting it to the central statistics agency for database entry. With this application, it is expected to provide convenience to Population census officers to perform the process of inputting population data and the data is directly stored in the database without having to return to the office to input again.
