Based on observations made by researchers at MTs Kebunrejo Genteng, it turns out that there are still many weaknesses and obstacles faced, especially in learning (SKI). This was strengthened based on the results of interviews with some eighth grade students, their understanding in the learning process was felt to be lacking because most of them assumed that subjects (SKI) were subjects that tended to be less interesting and boring, because students had to memorize years or names. figure. Because it is considered a boring subject which in the end has an impact on the students' lack of understanding in receiving the subject matter, this can be seen in the odd semester scores on the material of the Islamic dynasty. This can be proven from 34 students of which 14 students scored below the minimum completeness criteria (KKM), namely 7. Based on the above problems, the researcher intends to describe the problem by using a learning medium that can help students understand the learning material. The learning media used were documentary films. The results of research on the use of documentary film learning media in class VIII C students at MTs Kebunrejo Genteng are that students are easier to understand and memorize Islamic dinasty subject matter (Ayyubiyah), student interest in learning is better than before, and students can achieve the above score (KKM) that is the value 7.

This writing aims to increase the motivation and activity of students in the class. The way to increase student motivation in learning in class is to choose the right learning model with ongoing learning material. Linking learning material at school to learning that links lessons with games or games, so students are more responsive to receiving messages from others, training students' creativity and imagination in making questions, encouraging students to cooperate, help each other, and be active in learning. One learning model that links lessons with games or games is the Snowball Throwing learning model. To make students more aware of the subject matter, a task must be done, if they do not do the task, they must accept the consequences that have been agreed together when making a work contract. Thus the modification of the Snowball Throwing learning model was carried out with a Task and Forced strategy. The aim is to make the Snowball Throwing learning model even better so that students are more motivated, better understand the material in school and discipline in learning in the classroom. Therefore this method of incorporation is very necessary in the learning process and can be applied to improve the quality of learning in schools.

Learning is a system that aims to help the learning process of students, which contains a series of events that are designed, arranged in such a way as to influence and support the learning process of students (Firdaus, 2012). According to Nasution (2000) the learning process is an interaction / process of communication between the teacher and students and between students and students. Intertwined communication should be reciprocal communication created in such a way, so that the message conveyed in the form of the subject matter will be effective and efficient. Students as the subject of learning must play an active role in learning. the activeness of students is assessed from their role in learning, such as asking questions, answering questions, giving responses and others. In addition, the activeness of students is a form of independent learning, namely students trying to learn everything about their own will and ability / business, so that in this case the teacher only acts as a mentor, motivator and facilitator. Therefore, the teacher needs to create an atmosphere of learning that can foster an attitude of collaboration between students and other students. The main problem in learning in formal education (school) today is the low absorption of students. The learning process to this day is still dominated by teachers and does not provide access for students to develop independently through discovery in the process of thinking. According to Dimyati and Mudjiono (2002) the dominance of teachers in the learning process causes students to be passively involved, students are more waiting for the presentation of the teacher rather than looking for and finding their own knowledge, skills and attitudes they need during the learning process. Therefore, it is necessary to apply new learning strategies that can make students actively participate in learning. One active learning strategy developed by Silberman (2011) is true or false active learning strategies. The learning steps in the true or false active learning strategy will activate students from the beginning of learning which will stimulate students to think and motivate students to play an active role in learning activities so that the teacher does not dominate the learning process. This strategy is marked by the teacher making statements that are in accordance with the subject matter, half right and the other half wrong. Then students discuss in their groups to state whether the statement is true or false. By discussing students can exchange opinions. According to Silberman (2011) by listening to various opinions, students will be challenged to think. our brain will do a better learning process if we discuss information with other people. When the learning process is passive, the brain cannot store information properly. In answering questions, students are required to give reasons why they answer correctly and why they answer wrongly. This is so that students do not guess when answering and will make students better understand the material. Then the results of the group discussion will be presented in front of the class, students are given the opportunity to ask questions, answer questions and respond or give opinions. This will activate students more in learning and can train students' courage. According to Silberman (2011), learning activities carried out with the activities of students themselves will cause a knowledge to be more meaningful and can last a long time in memory of students so that the learning outcomes achieved will be better. Based on the results of the study obtained values from the first and second cycles in a row - according (77.33%), and (80.00%).

The COVID-19 is an ongoing global pandemic, caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The virus was first identified in December 2019 in Wuhan, China. The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 resulted in the abrupt shutting of all the educational institutions (schools, colleges, and universities) in India. This resulted in dramatic changes in the education system with the distinctive rise of e-learning, whereby teaching is undertaken remotely and on digital platforms. Online learning is a competent and contactless method of teaching to remotely located students. Geography is a branch of science which deals with the study of the earth’s surface and the relationships between people and their environment. Geographers explore both the physical properties of the earth’s surface and the human societies spread across it. The subject matter of Geography containing different theory papers and practical papers cannot just be effectively taught in a classroom or laboratory but best enlightened on the field. For the effective learning process in the subject of Geography, students require on-ground observations, laboratory analysis, projects and dissertations, field surveying, computer mapping and analysis, field trips and excursions, etc. It helps the budding Geographers to acquire not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills. But the COVID-19 pandemic situation confronted the education system, forcing the educators in the field of Geography to shift to an online mode of teaching, leaving them with no option. During this crisis, the educators have given their best in teaching the subject matter of Geography to the students by using various open-source teaching aids by overcoming the issues like lack of training and professional technical support. This altered the traditional teaching and learning process in the field of Geography, which essentially affects the students of Geography. Thus, a case study was undertaken to assess the online teaching in the subject of Geography at the undergraduate level during the academic year 2020-21 from the student’s perspective.
