This study aims to determine the effect of herbal feeds with different formulas to increase the HSL levels and optimize cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL levels. This study is an experimental study with Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Test animal used in this study were 20 broilers and divided into 4 experimental groups, i.e. P0: control given commercial feed, P1: treatment group given a feed formula, P2: the treatment group given the feed formula, P3: the treatment group given the feed formula. Each group consists of 5 replications. The test animal for each treatment was placed randomly. Data obtained was cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL and LDL levels. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and followed by Duncan test with 95% of significance level if there were significant differences. The data were analyzed with SPSS 25 software for Windows. The results showed that the level of cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL and LDL were not significantly different (P> 0.05). The conclusion of this study is that the provision of herbal feed formulas is not significant in reducing cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL, levels and increasing HDL levels, but is able to maintain normal physiological conditions.

Plants that can be used as pesticides are Gadung tubers. Gadung tubers contain cyanide acid to kill armyworm pests because they contain dioscorin toxins which can cause nervous disorders. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Gadung tuber extract (Dioscorea hispida) on Caterpillar mortality (Spodoptera exigua) in Shallot plants. This type of research is experimental research. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD). The sample used was 5 caterpillars (Spodoptera exigua) in each polybag with 5 repetitions for each concentration of Gadung tuber extract, namely 0%, 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5%, 2.0% and 2.5%, so the total Caterpillar used was 150 Caterpillars. Gadung tuber extraction was carried out by maceration method with methanol solvent. Data were analyzed using a one-way analysis of variance at the 95% significance level, followed by DMRT (Duncans Multiple Range Test). The results showed that the Gadung tuber extract had a significant effect on the mortality of caterpillars (Spodoptera exigua) because the F count was greater than the F table (45.40>2.62), and the DMRT test results showed that the optimal concentration of Gadung tuber extract was 2.5%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the extract of Gadung tuber (Dioscorea hispida) affects the mortality of Caterpillars (Spodoptera exigua) in Shallots (Allium cepa).

Penambahan nutrisi perlu dilakukan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas pertumbuhan jamur tiram putih (Pleurotus ostreatus). Salah satu bahan yang dapat digunakan adalah serbuk jagung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan serbuk jagung pada komposisi media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan miselium bibit F1 jamur tiram putih (Pleurotus ostreatus) dan mengetahui konsentrasi serbuk jagung yang paling baik digunakan pada pertumbuhan  miselium bibit F1 jamur tiram putih (Pleurotus ostreatus). Penelitian ini mengunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan sehingga diperoleh 12 satuan percobaan; P0 (perlakuan kontrol), P1 (25%), P2 (50%), dan P3 (100%). Variabel yang diukur adalah persentase pertumbuhan miselium yang diamati pada hari ke-6, 12 dan 18 dan waktu penyebaran miselium Hari Setelah Inokulasi (HSI). Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan analysis of variance (ANOVA) dengan uji lanjut menggunakan uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh pada pertumbuhan miselium bibit F1 jamur tiram putih (Pleurotus ostreatus) dengan penambahan serbuk jagung pada komposisi media tanam. Selain Itu, konsentrasi serbuk jagung yang memberikan hasil yang paling baik terhadap pertumbuhan miselium adalah P2 dengan konsentrasi 50%. Kata kunci : miselium F1; Pleurotus ostreatus; serbuk jagung  ABSTRACTAdditional nutrition needs to be done to increase the productivity of oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) growth. One of the materials that can be used is corn powder. This study aimed to determine the effect of corn powder on the planting medium composition towards mycelium growth of oyster mushroom F1 seeds (Pleurotus ostreatus) and to find the best concentration of corn powder to grow mycelium seeds F1 oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus). This research was an experimental study using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments namely; P0 (control treatment), P1 (25%), P2 (50%), and P3 (100%), and 3 repetitions so that obtained 12 experimental units. The variables measured were the mycelium growth percentage on days 6, 12, and 18, and the mycelium widespread time after the day of inoculation. The data were analyzed using ANOVA then continued on the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test. The results showed that the addition of corn powder on oyster mushroom growing media affected mycelium growth of the oyster mushroom F1 seeds (Pleurotus ostreatus). It also found that the P2 with a 50% concentration of corn powder gave the widest mycelium growth.  Keywords: corn powder; mycelium; Pleurotus ostreatus

ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan air jeruk sambal (Citrus microcarpa) pada air minum terhadap penurunan kadar lemak dan taraf lemak daging broiler. Materi yang digunakan adalah ayam umur 1 hari (DOC) strain CP 707 sebanyak 80 ekor yang ditempatkan dalam kandang berukuran (5,5 × 2,5 × 2 m) yang disekat menjadi 20 unit dengan setiap unit percobaan di isi 4 ekor broiler. Pakan yang digunakan adalah pakan komersial (BR10, BR11 dan BR12). Metode yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL), dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan dengan taraf  perlakuan P0  (0% jeruk sambal per 1 L air ), P1 (0,4% jeruk sambal per 1 L air), P2 (0,8% jeruk sambal per 1 L air) dan P3 (1,2% jeruk sambal per 1 L air). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam (ANOVA)  pada taraf  5% dilanjutkan dengan uji beda nyata jujur (BNJ). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan dapat meningkatkan persentase bobot karkas, penurunan persentase lemak abdominal dan persentase lemak daging broiler. Kesimpulan penambahan air jeruk sambal pada air minum dapat menurunkan lemak daging broiler dengan taraf  pemberian terbaik 0,8%.(The effect of native orange water (Citrus microcarpa) in drink water on broiler meat fat)ABSTRAK. This research aim to determine the effect of native orange (Citrus microcarpa) to drink water on percentage meat fat broiler and the best level for degrade meat fat. The used materials were day old chick (DOC) strain CP707 as many as 80 birds, were placed in cages with size of (5,5 ×2,5×2 m) is partitioned into 20 units an each unit in the experiment with the contents of 4 chickens. Commercial feed was  used, they were  (BR10, BR11 and BR12). Completely randomized design (CRD) was applied, with 4 treatment and 5 replications. The  level of treatments were  P0  (0% native orange for 1 L water), P1 (0,4 native orange for 1 L water), P2 (0,8% native oramge for 1 L water) and P3 (1,2% native orange for 1 L water). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance at level 5% and followed by honesty significant different (HSD).The result showed that there were increasing  percentage of carcass,  abdominal fat and meat fat. As a conclusion,  increment native orange to drink water can degrade broiler meat fat with the best level  at  0,8%.

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of the ratio of gatot and red beans usage on water content and organoleptic characteristics from "Gatotkaca" analog rice. The material in this study was gatot (fermented cassava) and red beans. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. This study consisted of 4 different analog rice formulations, namely T1 (90% gatot: 10% red beans); T2 (85% gatot: 15% red beans); T3 (80% gatot: 20% red beans); T4 (75% gatot: 25% red beans). Data were analysed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) with the significance level 5%. The results showed that the difference in the ratio of the usage of gatot but red beans didn’t have a significant effect (p>0.05) on the water content and organoleptic characteristics. Treatment with a ratio of gatot and 85% red beans  15% gatot was the best treatment.

Abstract Freshwater culture commodity such as sangkuriang catfish (Clarias sp.) has high sufficient demand. One way to fullfil necessity of sangkuriang catfis demand is accelerate the growth. The aim of this research is to determine the present effect of different probiotics on commercial feed towards growth and feed efficiency of sangkuriang catfish. The research using experimental method, using Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Sangkuriang catfish kept in 30 days with four treatments and five replications, that is P1 (control), P2 (5% probiotics A), P3 (5% probiotics B), and P4 (5% probiotics C). The obtained data were processed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and followed by Duncan Multiple Range Test if there was significant data. The result showed that different probiotics giving significant effect to growth rate and feed efficiency (p<0,05). The best sangkuriang catfish (Clarias sp.) growth rate is P2 treatment 2,88% ± 0,38, and the lowest is P1 treatment at 1,73% ± 0,7. The best feed efficiency is P2 treatment at 54,69% ± 9,67 and the lowest is P1 treatment at 30,27% ± 12,65

This study aims to determine the effect of fermented feed in the form of Indegofera Sp and Eurycoma Longifolia (El) leaves on the quality of Arabian chicken semen. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments consisted of P.1 : Commercial Feed, P.2 : 80% Indegofera sp + 20% Eurycoma longifolia (El) leaves, P.3: 70% Indegofera sp leaves + 30% Eurycoma longifolia (El) leaves, P.4 : 60% Indegofera sp + 40% Eurycoma longifolia (El) leaves. Semen collection was carried out on day 30 after feeding. The semen quality were observed and analyzed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan&#39;s test. The results showed that the combination of two fermented feed (Indegofera Sp and Eurycoma Longifolia) leaves had a significant effect (P&lt;0.05) on the quality of arab chicken spermatozoa. The fermented feed is able to improve the quality of Arabic chicken semen.

Dual (cushion and spring) compartment ginger slicing machine was developed to address the dificulties associaed with manual slicing of ginger. However, there is no establisbed  operational perfomance on record for this particular machine; thus, the need for this study. To achieve this, the machine perfomance was evaluated at the Department of Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering, Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi in April, 2019 interms of Slicing Efficiency and Percent Broken and Bruises at a ginger moisture content of 80.2 and 78.5%, using completely randomized Design (CRD) with 5 x 2 x 2 factorial experiment. The experiment was conducted with one horse power petrol engine. The data collected were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) for significance level of the experimental factors and their interactions and those found significant were further analyzed using Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) for mean separations at (P0.05), respectively. The results showed that, the highest mean Slicing Efficiencies for cushion and spring compartments were: 61.2 and 45.1%, respectively. The lowest mean Percent Broken and Bruises was with cushion compartment as 38.8% and 54.9% spring compartment, respectively.

ABSTRACT            The aim of this study was to determine the quality and organoleptic characteristics of seaweed jelly candy (E. spinosum). This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 3 treatments: P1 = Seaweed: sucrose: water = 100 gr: 100 gr: 30 ml, P2 = Seaweed: sucrose: water = 120: 100: 30 ml, P3 = Seaweed: sucrose: water = 140 gr: 100: 30 ml: with there times replication. Data from observations were analyzed using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) at a level of 95%, if there is a significant difference (P> 0.05) then a further test was performed with a DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) tests at a 95% significance level. The results obtained showed that the concentration of seaweed (E. spinosum), sucrose, and water significantly affected the color, texture, aroma, and taste of seaweed jelly candy. The best treatment was in of P1 with a color value of 3.42 with a category like P1 texture 3.90 with a very like category, P1 aroma 3.58 with a very like category, and P1 a taste of 3.98 with a very like category. The chemical value of seaweed jelly candy is the value of water content 10.16% -13.26%, ash content 0.32-0.44%, and protein content 2.92% -4.17%. Keywords: Chemical test. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 3 perlakuan yaitu : P1 = Rumput laut: sukrosa : air = 100 gr : 100 gr: 30 ml, P2 = Rumput laut: sukrosa : air = 120 : 100 : 30 ml, P3 = Rumput laut : sukrosa : air = 140 gr : 100 : 30 ml : dan ulangan sebanyak tiga kali. Data hasil pengamatan dianalisa menggunakan ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) pada taraf 95%, apabila terdapat beda nyata (P>0,05) maka dilakukan uji lanjut dengan uji DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) pada taraf nyata 95%. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa Kosentrasi rumput laut (E. spinosum), sukrosa dan air berpengaruh nyata terhadap warna, tekstur, aroma dan rasa permen jelly rumput laut. Perlakuan terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan P1 dengan nilai warna sebesar 3,42 (suka), P1 tekstur 3,90 (sangat suka), P1 aroma 3,58 (sangat suka)dan P1 rasa 3,98 (sanagt suka). Nilai kimia permen jelly rumput laut yaitu nilai kadar air berkisar 10.16%-13.26%, kadar abu berkisar 0,32-0.44% dan kadar protein berkisar 2,92%-4.17%.Kata kunci: Uji kimia, pernen jelly, rumput laut (E. spinosum), sensorik dan sukrosa

This research aim to determine the effect of native orange (Citrus microcarpa) to drink water on body weight, feed consumtion and FCR (feed convertion rate). The variables in this study were body weight, feed consumption and feed conversion in broiler. The used materials were day old chick (DOC) strain CP707 as many as 80 birds, were placed in cages with size of (5,5 x 2,5 x 2 m) is partitioned into 20 units an each unit in the experiment with the contents of 4 chickens. Feed used is commercial feed. The method used completely randomized design (CRD), with 4 treatment and 5 replications. with level treatment P0 (commercial feed and 0% native orange for 1 L water), P1 (commercial feed and 0,4 native orange for 1 L water), P2 (commercial feed and 0,8% native oramge for 1 L water) and P3 (commercial feed and 1,2% native orange for 1 L water). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance at level 5% and followed by honesty significant different (HSD). The result showed treatment not significant with body weight, feed consumtion  and FCR (feed convertion rate). This study aims to find out the effect of combination of fermented Indegofera leaf and corn on the growth of Arabic chicken. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment consisted of P.1: Commercial Feed; P.2: 80% Indegofera sp leaves + 20% Corn; P.3: 70% Indegofera leaves + 30% Corn; P.4: 60% Indegofera leaves + 40% Corn. Measurement of Arab chickens weight was carried out once a week for one month. The weight data were analyzed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan's test. The results showed that the combination of fermented feed consisting  Indegofera sp leaves and corn had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the growth of Arab chickens. The conclusion shows that fermented feed of Indegofera leaves sp and corn as chicken diet could improve the growth of Arabian chickens.
