Semisolid casting of aluminium alloys is growing. For magnesium alloys, Thixomoulding became the dominant process around the world. For aluminium processing, the situation is different as semisolid processing of aluminium is more technically challenging than for magnesium. Today three processes are leading the process implementation, The Gas-Induced Superheated-Slurry (GISS) method, the RheoMetal process and the Swirling Enthalpy Equilibration Device (SEED) process. These processes have all strengths and weaknesses and will fit a particular range of applications. The current paper aims at looking at the strengths and weaknesses of the processes to identify product types and niche applications for each process based on current applications and development directions taken for these processes.

Mg alloys show limited room temperature formability compared to its lightweight counterpart aluminium alloys, which is a main obstacle in using this metal for most of the structural applications. However, it is known that grain refinement and texture control are the two possibilities for the improvement of formability of magnesium alloys. Amongst the approaches attempted for the texture weakening, additions through of rare-earth (RE) elements have been found most effective. The relationship between the texture and ductility is well established. In this paper, the effect of rare earth addition on texture weakening has been summarized for various magnesium alloys under the two most common modes of deformation methods.

The validity of the surface structure of the Holy Qur'an is one of the most important Qur'anic debates, which also affects the issues of Islamic law. The meaning of surface structure of the Qur'an is that the surface structure of the Qur'an is understandable to every reader and listener, as well as any human text, and that which man understands the surface structure of the Qur'an by means of verbal and illogical indications. The current paper examines the validity of the surface structure of the Holy Quran, following expanding the conceptual subject of the research.  Given the thematic documents presented, this is a descriptive-analytical paper with library sources data collection tool. The findings indicate that: The most important reason for believing in the validity of the Holy Qur'an surface structure is that this holy scripture includes the plan of human happiness in the world and the Hereafter. Therefore, if the surface structure of the Holy Quran is not justified, how one can use its surface structure to answer difficult questions that limited human reason is incapable of answering. In addition, the Holy Qur'an, although revelation and has been revealed by God, but because it is revealed in the form of words, it is governed by the principles and rules governing all languages, among which are the validity of their surface structure for those familiar with the language. Keabsahan struktur permukaan Al-Qur'an adalah salah satu perdebatan Al-Qur'an yang paling penting karena  mempengaruhi masalah hukum Islam. Makna struktur permukaan Al-Qur'an adalah bahwa struktur permukaan Al-Qur'an dapat dipahami oleh setiap pembaca dan pendengar, serta teks manusia mana pun, dan apa yang dipahami manusia oleh struktur permukaan Al-Qur'an dengan cara indikasi verbal dan tidak logis. Penelitian ini  meneliti validitas struktur permukaan Al-Qur'an, dengan memperluas subjek konseptual penelitian. Mengingat dokumen tematik yang disajikan, pendekatan deskriptif-analitis dengan alat pengumpulan data sumber perpustakaan. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa: alasan paling penting untuk percaya pada validitas struktur permukaan Al-Qur'an adalah bahwa kitab suci ini mencakup rencana kebahagiaan manusia di dunia dan akhirat. Karena itu, jika struktur permukaan Al-Qur'an tidak benar, bagaimana seseorang dapat menggunakan struktur permukaannya untuk menjawab pertanyaan-pertanyaan sulit yang membatasi akal manusia. Selain itu, Alquran, meskipun wahyu dari Allah,  tetapi karena diturunkan dalam bentuk kata-kata, diatur oleh prinsip dan aturan yang mengatur semua bahasa, di antaranya adalah validitas struktur permukaan untuk mereka yang terbiasa dengan bahasa.

The classical Muslim scholarly tradition produced an assortment of literature on different religions including a considerable number of descriptive studies, a phenomenon that leaves imposing questions. Most importantly, how a pre-modern civilization was able to generate a tradition of descriptive scholarship on different religions in the absence of conditions such as the western modernity that supposedly factored the emergence of the modern academic study of religion needs to be explored. The current paper ventures to answer this question. It argues that certain features of the Qur’ānic worldview, such as the repeated invitation to observe the signs of God in time and space through travel in the land/across the world and to ponder upon the history of various nations coupled with the exhortation to use reason generated curiosity about different civilizations of the world as well as their religious heritage. Moreover, the Qur’ānic view of the universality of the religious phenomenon as a divine plan also encouraged a sober disposition towards religious others in cases under discussion. On the other hand, the meticulous historiographical techniques and methods for the interpretation of texts developed by Muslim historians, theologians, and jurists afforded the needed methodological apparatus for the said undertaking. The current paper further concludes that the same epistemology and methodological foundations can be appropriated according to/keeping in view the needs of the time to promote a credible study of religion/s in contemporary Muslim societies

As the profile of religions in the world is changing rapidly, religious diversity is becoming a more common phenomenon nowadays in almost every society. Indonesia and European Union (EU) are not an exception to be more diverse and plural societies. Although religious diversity gives such richness of culture in society, religions are known as vulnerable entities. Many social problems caused by religions brought about various conflicts and violent actions on a big scale and also numerous hostilities, discriminations, and hatred on a small scale. Many regulations have been issued to address such social tensions both in Indonesia and the EU. However, many conflicts, hostilities or discriminations are recurring in both Indonesia and EU states. Interestingly, in many cases, hostilities and discrimination even done by the apparatus of the state. The current paper is dedicated to explore how these countries deal with religious diversity and whether there are social tensions and discriminations occurred. Religion as a common phenomenon in the world should be seen more as a challenge for every country rather than a contentious threat.

AbstractThe surface film on pure magnesium and two aluminium-containing magnesium alloys was characterised after 96 h at 95% RH and 22 °C. The concentration of CO2 was carefully controlled to be either 0 or 400 ppm. The exposed samples were investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and electron microscopy. The results showed that when the alloys were exposed to the CO2-containing environment, aluminium cations (Al3+) was incorporated into a layered surface film comprising a partially “hydrated” MgO layer followed by Mg(OH)2, and magnesium hydroxy carbonates. The results indicated that aluminium-containing magnesium alloys exhibited considerably less localised corrosion in humid air than pure magnesium. Localised corrosion in the materials under investigation was attributed to film thinning by a dissolution/precipitation mechanism.

Friction stir welding(FSW) as a new,environmental and energy-saving solid phase joining technology has become the focus of research in the welding field at home and abroad in recent years. The technical characteristics,microstructure and application status of Friction Stir Welding were elaborated in this paper,meanwhile the studying situation of Friction stir welding for aluminium alloys, magnesium alloys and so on was stated. Finally development prospect of FSW in welding field was analyzed.

Flexibility of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research’s Rheocasting System (CSIR-RCS) and its rheo-high pressure die casting (R-HPDC) technology is again demonstrated, as with aluminium alloys, by processing and shape casting of three different magnesium alloys (AM50A, AM60B, AZ91D) in a first attempt. All as-cast microstructures are characterised more by rosette shaped globules of the primary-(Mg) phase together with Mg17Al12 as evidence of non-equilibrium cooling rates. Surface liquid segregation is observed in the as-cast microstructure for all three alloys. Minor alloy additions of Mn, in composition specifications, results in the formation of Al8Mn5 intermetallic phase particles dispersed throughout the microstructure. All alloys were homogenised at 415 °C for 16 hours for the T4 condition. The Mg17Al12 phase dissolves with homogenisation while the Al8Mn5 intermetallic phase does not dissolve. The resulting tensile properties of all three alloys in the as-cast and T4 conditions are reported.

Abstract Startup assistance organizations, and especially business accelerators have gained a lot of traction in the last years, captioning not only the attention of the public, but most importantly that of investors and other stakeholders. It has become a challenge for many all around the world to develop such programs, but many have failed or did not have their expected results, meaning medium to long-term sustainable and profitable alumni start-ups. As high amounts of resources, both human and financial, are being invested in the design and development of such programs, it is important to understand what sets apart the successful business acceleration programs from the ones that fail. The current paper is reviewing the up-to-date theoretical literature and studies on the matter at hand, in order to identify the most relevant factors influencing startup assistance organizations’ performance. The objective behind identifying these factors is to get a better understanding of best practices of such successful programs and set the basis for future research regarding the development of a set of metrics for more accurately measuring their performance.
