This study examines the effectiveness of online learning platforms (Zoom and Moodle) and their effect on the academic performance of Covenant University, Ota, Nigeria, students studying practical-related courses during COVID-19. This study specifically seeks to determine students’ attitudes towards online learning platforms, investigate the effectiveness of these platforms on practical-related courses as well as ascertain the effect of Zoom and Moodle platforms on the students’ academic performance during the Pandemic. Data were gathered through a survey of 380 CU students through the purposive sampling technique to pick students offering practical related courses. Results show that due to the effectiveness of the platforms (Zoom and Moodle) and the positive communication between lecturers and students via these platforms, students would like to see online learning continually adopted after the COVID-19 pandemic. Findings further show that students had no difficulties using these platforms. Due to the sheer adaptability of the online learning platforms used during the pandemic, the usage of Zoom and Moodle had a favorable impact on student’s academic achievement in practical-related courses. The study concludes that distance learning is a future direction in teaching practical-related courses because of the flexible nature of the platforms. Thus, universities in this part of the world should invest more in online education platforms to maintain academic continuity, especially during times of emergency.

The aim of this research is; 1) investigating the level of online learning satisfaction among students during COVID 19; 2) analyzing the influence of differences in gender, years of study, major in determining online learning satisfaction among students during COVID 19; 3) to analyze the relationship between online learning satisfaction and student academic achievement during COVID 19. The population was 656 students at STKIP Singkawang, and then a sample of 357 students (87 males and 270 females) was taken using a simple random sampling technique. The instrument in this study was adapted from Aman's Satisfaction instrument, which was then used to collect research data. Data analysis using SPSS with descriptive statistical techniques, MANOVA, and correlation. The results showed that online learning satisfaction was at a high level, meaning that students were satisfied with the online learning that had been implemented. The major differences have a significant effect on determining online learning satisfaction. Intercorrelation shows that there is a significant relationship on each indicator of online learning satisfaction with academic achievement, meaning that the higher the satisfaction felt by students in online learning, the student's academic achievement will increase.

Abstrak: Pandemi COVID-19 adalah krisis kesehatan yang sedang menjadi perhatian negara-negara di dunia saat ini. COVID-19 merupakan penyakit yang belum pernah teridentifikasi sebelumnya pada manusia yang disebabkan oleh virus Sars-CoV-2. Menyebarnya COVID-19 di Indonesia menyebabkan Indonesia perlu melakukan pembatasan sosial untuk mencegah meningkatnya jumlah pasien COVID-19. Pembatasan sosial menyebabkan terganggunya beberapa aktivitas di berbagai bidang, terutama di bidang pendidikan. Kajian yang dilakukan dalam penyusunan paper mengacu pada 10 artikel terbaru pada tahun 2020 yang membahas tentang permasalahan yang sedang terjadi saat ini, berkaitan dengan dampak COVID-19 terhadap pembelajaran online menggunakan metode Systematic Literature Review. Proses pengkajian 10 artikel ini diklasifikasi menjadi 3 kelompok sub topik. Berdasarkan kajian yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh hasil pembelajaran online di era pandemi COVID-19 sangat memacu pertumbuhan pembelajaran online yang memudahkan dalam proses belajar mengajar, namun jika dinilai dari perubahan sikap siswa, sistem tersebut lebih menunjukkan sisi negatif, sehingga diperlukan adanya evaluasi terkait pembelajaran online oleh pemerintah Kata kunci: Covid-19, pembelajaran online, Systematic Literature Review(SLR)Abstract: COVID-19 pandemic is a health crisis that currently has been becoming the concern of countries in the world. COVID-19 is a disease that has never been previously identified in humans, which is caused by the Sars-CoV-2 virus. The spread of COVID-19 in Indonesia has made this country need to do social distancing to prevent the increasing number of COVID-19 patients. This social distancing has disrupted several activities in various fields, especially in the field of education. The paper done refers to 10 current articles in 2020 that discuss current problems, with the COVID-19 impact of online learning using Systematic Literature Review method. The review process of these 10 articles was classified into 3 sub-topic groups. Based on the studies that had been carried out, the result of online learning in the COVID-19 pandemic era has greatly accelerated the growth of online learning which eases the teaching and learning process. However, if it is judged by the changes in the students’ attitudes, the system shows more of negative sides. This chapter explores the evolution of E-learning, defines many E-platforms and discusses the relationship between contemporary Andragogical practices, and future technology trends, which key drivers for the implementation of new technology, play a significant role. This chapter argues that online education (E-learning) has the potential for greater access and advancement of knowledge for learners across their life spans than the traditional four walled classroom. The purpose of this chapter argues how we can rely on practice and research to harness the untapped potential of increasingly diverse modalities of online education. The landscape of teaching has been changed due to online learning experiences. Due to its potential for greater flexibility, access, and responsiveness to learning experiences, it has many benefits for learners as well as higher institutions. Thus, the objective of the study was to investigate students self-regulation in online learning and its effect on their academic achievement at the undergraduate level. The study was quantitative in nature; a causal comparative research design was used. A questionnaire (SOL-Q-R) revised by Jansen et al. (2017) was used to measure the self-regulation of students. The total population was 1790 students, 1180 from public and 610 from private universities. A sample of 450 respondents was selected by using a stratified random sampling technique. The result showed that self-regulation has a significant effect on academic achievement. Students who have a high level of self-regulation were shown higher academic achievement.

This research is motivated by the application of online learning during the Pandemic. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of learning during the COVID-19 Pandemic. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. This research was conducted by students majoring in English Education, University of Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo at elementary, junior high, and high school in their respective regions. The COVID-19 pandemic has made changes to various aspects of human life today, especially in the world of education. In the current pandemic era, education in Indonesia is one of the most affected. Online learning has become the most effective solution for learning in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic to continue to provide the best service to students. The online education system is not easy. In addition to the personal discipline of self-study, there are facilities and resources that must be provided and paid attention to. In this study, it is hoped that it can be an evaluation for various schools and campuses to further improve the online learning system to be better and more effective.

Drug abuse one of the problems that have swept the world and become a frightening problem for the society and Indonesian. Students become one of the targets of drug abuse. Drug abuse occurs during adolescence because adolescents have rapid biological, psychological, and social changes that cause vulnerable individuals to get involved in drug abuse. The cause of drug abuse among adolescents was due to the low attitude of students in addressing the occurrence of drug abuse. The population of this research was the students of SMK in Padang. There were 124 students as the sample of this research. The sampling technique used was a purposive random sampling and the data collection tools used student` attitude instruments used students' attitude instruments in drug abuse with a Likert scale model, with Alpha Cronbach reliability of r=0,991. The data were analyzed by using the descriptive statistical methods with the data processing using SPSS version 22. The results revealed that the students’ attitudes in drug abuse were in the middle category (54.2%). Clearly, the affective component was in the middle category (2.69%); the behavioral component was in the middle category (2.91%); the cognitive component was in the low category (2.47%).

This chapter discusses and evaluates research on cross-cultural communication differences in online learning at the university level. It starts out by discussing the growth of online education in recent years and the historical context of online education. The chapter then evaluates research on differences in cross-cultural online learning primarily between university students from the Western part of the world compared to students from the East. Barriers in cross-cultural online education cited in the literature include language, technology, and instructional design. Future research on Western-based online education should assess cross-cultural differences for students from other parts of the world including Africa, the Caribbean, and Latin America.

The current cross-sectional study was carried out to analyze the impact of COVID-19 lockdown on the academic performance of veterinary medical students and researchers. An online google form questionnaire was used to invite veterinary students and researchers to answer the questionnaire. A total of 807 participants were from 86 different countries answered the questionnaire with an overall response rate of 94.1%. The participants were 50.1% males and 49.9% females. The age of participants ranged from 17 to 51 years, and the majority of them (85.0%) were undergraduate students while postgraduate students comprised 15.0%. The data showed that the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown affected the academic performance of most participants (96.5%) with varying degrees. The mean evaluation scores for the online education, in general, was 4.9 ± 2.4 while that for the practical parts was 3.7± 2.6. About 60.7% of participants evaluated the online learning in general with 1-5 of 10 points, while 77.9% of participants evaluated the online learning in practical lessons with 1-5 of 10 points. Although online education provides an opportunity for self-study. The main challenge online education faces in veterinary medical science is how to give practical lessons. Since most of the subjects are practical; therefore, it is not easy to learn it online. Students think that it is difficult to fulfill the veterinary competencies only with the online education system. Online education can be improved by making it more interactive, showing medical procedures in real situations, giving concise information, and providing 3D virtual tools to mimic the real situation.
