Research issues of specificity and efficiency of the computer monitoring of knowledge as a high-priority method of diagnostics of the level of students’ educational attainments are made actual. The essence of the interrelated notions such as “ computer monitoring of knowledge”, “ computer testing”, “ test assignment” is revealed. On the basis of analysis of available references the objective of computer testing is defined, the reasons of figuring out the objective results which are achieved by the means of two constituents that are proper prepared test and actionable hardware system are set. At the same time the general properties of test such as validity, complexity, reliability, stability, representativeness, significancy, truthfulness, test hypothesis and discriminant are assigned. As a rule, test consists of two parts: informational and operational. The technology of constructing test tasks is characterized, it presupposes observance of number of rules: each test task should evaluate the achievements of an important and significant educational goal; it should check the appropriate level of knowledge acquisition, as well as higher cognitive levels and the time allocated for the test task which should be spent on finding the answer, but not on understanding the condition of the question. Along with that, the efficiency of computer testing is analyzed, which depends on the variability and multiplicity of created test tasks. Based on the results of the research we have the reason to confirm that computer testing being promising direction of modern educational process becomes constituent of the modern knowledge diagnostics. It broadens the means of control and evaluation of the level of educational achievements, it is an alternative to traditional methods of monitoring, it can be carried out taking into account different types and forms of control as a tool of operational management.Computer testing enables to audit knowledge of a large number of people simultaneously in a short span of time; random selection of questions from the course unit; processing of test results on a personal computer using a rating scale.

The methodology of use, organization and content of computer testing for a final control of knowledge on Physics course is given in the article. Since in the conditions of intensive computerization of modern higher education, computer testing is increasingly chosen as a means of diagnosing educational achievements. Therefore, at the present stage of the education development, with the transition to student-centered learning, arises a need for test control at all stages of education. An active approach involves an organic combination in tests of developing and controlling functions and the use of so-called educational control. Moreover, with the introduction of the Unified National Testing, it became necessary to prepare students for a new test control form and more broadly – to motivate a student to succeed, deliver him from fear of examinations, to create a comfortable environment. The article substantiates the importance of using computer testing in an educational process. In the educational process, tests are of great importance, as well as by the results of their execution it is possible to judge not only about the level of knowledge, but also about the degree of development of some personal qualities, about the success or failure of a certain stage of training for the whole group or individual students. Tests suggest that a user has a certain amount of information, so they are most often used as a control method for fixing or repeating material. In this regard, tests for students are given a special place. They should be focused not only on solving educational problems, but also on teaching the student how to work with test, accumulating his experience in completing test tasks, developing the ability to control himself, find and correct his own mistakes. A use of test control performs several functions, among them a diagnostic function, which stands out as an independent one. It consists in the fact that the teacher can not only monitor the level of knowledge and skills of students, but also find out the causes of the gaps found, then to eliminate them. The advantages of computer testing over other forms of control are also considered. Some examples from the contents of test items are given. Their compliance with regulatory and criteria-oriented requirements in the development of tests. Rules for the development of tasks in a test form; basic mathematical and statistical methods for processing test results, methods for developing components and elements of resource support for testing learning outcomes. The article also presents the criteria for evaluating tests. The purpose of the tests to assess the level of thinking development, ability to apply knowledge to solve practical problems, as well as the ability to analyze the causes and results of certain physical phenomena are indicated. The article presents some results and analysis of the results of a pedagogical experiment on implementation of this methodology, carried out at the Department of General Scientific Disciplines of the Academy of Civil Aviation. The dynamics of growth in student academic performance by semester is shown in the table and the diagram.

The aim of the work was to study the features of pedagogical control of schoolchildren's learning in a modern general education school. Research methods: theoretical: a review of psychological and pedagogical literature on research issues. The advantages of the system for assessing the degree of training are that each subsequent parameter is qualitatively higher than the previous one, and the system as a whole assesses the growth of knowledge and skills of students and the proposed parameters are convenient to operate in practice during the current assessment of knowledge, skills and abilities of students. The disadvantage of the system - the last parameter - "transfer" - characterizes as the student's ability to solve problems of a heuristic and creative type, ie. this stage requires detailing. The teaching function of control is to determine the content, techniques and methods of control, which are educational in nature. Any controlling task, except for the controlling function, trains students in the implementation of specific educational actions, ensuring a more solid mastery of these actions. The controlling task includes an element of novelty in the informative and substantive terms, providing an expansion of the cognitive horizons of students, developing and increasing the learning value of control. It is difficult to eliminate the subjective element of pedagogical control due to various circumstances: the designation of learning outcomes is rather arbitrary: knowledge, abilities, skills, assimilation, academic performance, etc .; methods of direct measurement of educational activity have not been developed, and it is judged indirectly by the answers, by the actions of students. Pedagogical control is an important component of the educational process that influences the result, the course of training and education. This problem is one of the most urgent in teaching practice.

The article is devoted to the study of the effectiveness of training graduates of medical universities when a trained student is included in the educational process, able to fulfill the role of a mentor. All over the world, the number of students is increasing in medical universities every year, but there is no equivalent increase in the teaching staff. One of the potential methods of overcoming the above problems is the use of trained mentors from among peer students. This method was used when students practiced practical skills in a simulation center in anticipation of primary accreditation. The purpose of the study is to optimize the preparation of students for a practical exam in a simulation environment with the help of a student mentor. Of the 468 students of the medical faculty of the North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov, studying in the VI year, was chosen by their colleague, who was trained at the center of simulation technology. A sample of 100 graduates was randomly generated, which were randomized into two groups of 50 people each (the main group in which the training was conducted with the participation of a mentor student and a control group trained under the guidance of teachers from one of the university departments). The most difficult for students was the station simulating the provision of emergency medical care (EMF). The evaluation checklist for checking the quality of the tasks at this station includes 233 points that must be implemented when providing EMF in 13 different situations requiring this type of medical care. To improve the quality of mastering practical skills, a training scheme was developed that allows you to learn the algorithm of actions when providing EMF. A basic assessment of students knowledge and skills revealed a low level of knowledge of diagnostic techniques and emergency assistance. Using the developed training scheme with the help of a student mentor has significantly increased the level of knowledge and practical skills in the provision of EMF. The quality of training in the main group did not significantly differ in most of the assessed parameters from the control group in which classes were held with the teacher. Statistical analysis of the data was performed using the SPSS 20.0 program (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA).

The aim of our work was to highlight the importance of an interdisciplinary approach in the study of pediatric surgical dentistry. The introduction of the Standard of Higher Education in Specialty 221 “Dentistry” Field of Knowledge 22 “Health Care” for the second (master’s) level of higher education has allowed us to revise and improve a number of provisions regarding the study of pediatric surgical dentistry. First of all, the updated educational-professional program 221- “Dentistry” outlines the list of competencies and learning outcomes in the discipline “Pediatric Surgical Dentistry” and clearly defines the prerequisites on which the study of pediatric surgical dentistry is based. In the study of pediatric surgical dentistry, namely issues related to inflammatory processes of the maxillofacial area, attention should be paid to the etiology and pathogenesis of acute and chronic inflammatory odontogenic processes directly in the age aspect. At the same time, it is important to emphasize the need for preventive dental measures, timely therapeutic intervention, especially during the eruption of permanent teeth and urgent radical treatment to prevent complications. In addition, an important component in the study of this topic are issues related to the age of the formation of organs and systems of the child, the tendency to hyperergic reactions and generalization of the inflammatory process, the factor of minimal anti-inflammatory potential. The presented methodological approach in terms of practical application of interdisciplinary links in the study of pediatric surgical dentistry, according to our observations allowed to increase the level of knowledge within the professional competence of students with a score of “5” from 20% in IV year to 68% V year. Thus, the list of components of the educational process analyzed in this paper creates a promising direction for further improvement of teaching methods at the Department of Pediatric Surgical Dentistry.

At the present stage, pedagogical tests are one of the most accessible and developed methods for assessing students' knowledge. Evaluation of the results of global research on testing problems showed that the developers of test items pay special attention to the form and their standardization, the processing of test results and the interpretation of the data obtained, methods of automatic test formation. The goal is to study the possibility of using testing to assess the formation of students' competencies. Materials and methods. Theoretical: a review of psychological and pedagogical literature on research issues, analysis, synthesis, generalization, systematization. Results. Testing characterizes a number of properties, the main of which is the objectivity of the assessment of results, the definition of "gaps" in knowledge. The result of testing is obtaining objective information about the quality of knowledge and skills, determining the sections that are the worst learned by the students. All of the above makes it possible to adjust the course of training. Test control can be external, when the subjects are offered a dichotometric range, which contains both completed and unfulfilled tasks on a wide range of issues. During the testing process, students have the opportunity to independently identify gaps in their own knowledge. The study confirms the possibility of using testing in assessing the formation of students' competencies and ultimately provides an increase in the level of knowledge. Conclusion. At the present stage, the introduction of tests into educational practice is an inevitable process, therefore, efforts should be directed to the development of a theoretical platform for the testing system, which will entail an increase in the efficiency of using tests as a form of control.

Abstract Objectives Reciprocating endodontic one-file systems are a comparatively new method for root canal shaping. Even though the mechanical properties are comparable to modern rotating mechanical systems, data about subjective assessment and application quality are scarce. This study evaluates the reciprocating one-file system in undergraduate education. Materials and Methods A total of 42 undergraduate students without experience regarding reciprocating file systems filled in a questionnaire in four different points in time (t 1–t 4) anonymously. The questionnaire was based on a numerical rating scale ranging from 0 to 10. Statistical Analysis A least significant difference post-hoc analysis comparing the group average values was performed. The adjusted level of significance was p < 0.004 after Bonferroni correction. Results All rating scores increased after the first theoretical instruction. After the first practical training in artificial root canals in resin blocks and extracted teeth (t 2), the estimation of “time efficiency” (p = 0.002), “handling” (p < 0.001), and “overall impression” (p < 0.001) improved significantly. The “overall impression” remained constant and showed no significant changes after the first practical training. Conclusions Reciprocating systems seem to show a good acceptance among first time users. Initial concerns about “work safety” decrease during every step of the educational process. Reciprocating one-file systems are a safe and well-accepted method in undergraduate teaching.

We present a detailed analysis of the “social experience” concept from the point of view of philosophy, sociology, psychology and pedagogy. When considering social experience as an in-tegral concept, we carry out a separate analytical interpretation of the “experience” and “socialization” categories in the context of various scientific disciplines. The analysis of the designated concepts from the point of view of philosophy contains a historical digression that reveals the position of the phenomena studied in different philosophical schools. Sociology is considered as a source of the concept of “socialization” in its contemporary meaning. Psychology is considered as a discipline in which the study of human experience and interaction with it occupies a central place. Socialization is considered in the context of pedagogy as a science with its own unique specificity focusing on work with the educational process and its subjects: we analyze the basic pedagogical concepts of understanding socialization as a process of mastering social experience, and variative interpretations of this concept in scientific and pedagogical sources are considered. As a result of the analysis, we conclude that social experience should be understood as the experience of human participation in joint activities, which determines the level of knowledge and skills, as well as understanding of life in general. We also reveal the position of this phenomenon in a contemporary pedagogy.

Objectives. To identify possible pedagogical conditions and methodological techniques of effective teaching influence on the increasing of the cognitive activity and independence (CAI) of students while acquiring and deepening their knowledge in topographic anatomy and operative surgery. Scientific analysis of psychological, pedagogical literature and personal experience shows that the problem of improving the forms and methods of educational work aimed at the increasing of the CAI of students in the process of studying the discipline is always before the teachers. While solving it, there are certain difficulties that many teachers associate with a low level of secondary education obtained, the complexity of the material studied, the admission to the university by means of testing, laziness of students, etc. The experience of the methods used and analyzed by the author shows ample opportunities for improving the cognitive activity of students, taking into account their individual interests and abilities to accumulate professional knowledge. Attention is paid to the implementation of a practice-oriented approach in teaching in combination with a systematic, creative, research, individual one, etc. to ensure the proportionate development of students’ theoretical and practical level of knowledge. A certain range of components of the conditions and factors of the educational process, in which there will be a close, bilateral, interested and productive educational activity of a student and a teacher, promoting the achievement of high educational results is shown.
