Artikel ini memiliki tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan : 1) sumber implikatur percakapan sinetron Dunia Terbalik episode 2006-2007 dan 2) bentuk implikatur percakapan pada jenis kalimat dalam tuturan sinetron Dunia Terbalik episode 2006-2007. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode simak, sedangkan teknik yang dipakai adalah teknik catat dalam pengumpulan data.  Data diperoleh dari tuturan yang di dalamnya terkandung implikatur. Data-data yang didapat kemudian dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan pragmatik dan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Metode penyajian menggunakan penyajian informal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di dalam sinetron Dunia Terbalik episode 2006-2007 ditemukan 7 implikatur percakapan, 1 bersumber pelanggaran bidal kuantitas, 1 bersumber dari pengambangan bidal relevansi, 2 bentuk implikatur pada kalimat deklaratif yang menyatakan penolakan dan protes, 1 bentuk implikatur pada kalimat interogatif yang menyatakan pengabaian, dan 2 bentuk implikatur pada kalimat imperatif yang menyatakan pengusiran secara halus dan ketidaksukaan. Dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat dijadikan sumbangsih untuk pengembangan ilmu pragmatik dan referensi bagi penelitian sejenis.Katakunci: bentuk, implikatur, konteks, sinetron, sumber  AbstractThis article has a purpose to describe: 1) the source of the implicature of the 2006-2007 episodes of Dunia Terbalik soap opera and 2) conversational implicatures of the sentence types in the 2006-2007 episodes of the sinetron. The method used observation method, while the technique used the note taking technique in collecting data. The data were obtained from utterances which contained implicatures. The data were analysed using a pragmatic and a qualitative descriptive approach. The method of result presentation used informal presentation. The results showed that in the Dunia Terbalik soap opera episode 2006-2007, it was found 7 conversational implicatures, 1 originating from violating maxim of the quantity, 1 originating from maxim of relevance, 2 implicatures in declarative sentence stating rejection and protest, 1 implicature in interrogative sentence which expressed abandonment, and 2 implicatures in imperative sentences which implied indirect expelling and dislike. The difference between English and Indonesia language become one of the hardest things to learn and to be understood. It could be seen by the grammar of the language and the system of communication between both languages. The aim of this study is to identify the difference and the similarity sentence between English and Indonesia Language and analysis contrastive between both languages. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach to find out the contrast between both of them. the sample in this study were 20 students of English Department Students in Victory University, especially the 2nd Semester. The result of this study was the main error of the students was in Declarative Sentence (DS), Negative Sentence (NS), Interrogative Sentence (IS) and Exclamatory Sentence (ES) i.e 92.86%. Based on the research, we found out that the students did those errors because the pattern of those sentences are different whereas the Imperative Sentence (IMS) has the same pattern with English.

AbstractImplications are a theory maybe the meaning is implied rather than explicit. Studies on these implicatures can be found on every day life as seen in the stand up comedy discourse by Ridwan Remin. Thi study aims to explain the types of implicature contained in thestand up comedy by Ridwan Remin, as well as to explain the nature of the implicature contained in the discourse. The approach used on research is a theoretical and methodological approach. The teoretical approach in this study uses a pragmatis approach, meaning that the date are analyzed by describing the pragmatic meaning in linguistic units. The methodological approach in this research is a qualitative descriptive approach. Data in research is stand up comedy discourse by Ridwan Remin. Data collection was carried out by listening techniques, documentation techniques, an note taking techniques. The result of this study indicate that three are two types of implicatures, namely: 1) conversational implicatures with the intention of rejecting, insinuating, guessing, asking, scolding; and 2) conventional implicatures with the intention of complaining, insinuating, telling. The benefit of this researchis to find out the types of Ridwan Remin implicatures in the Stand up comedy event.

This study aims at identifying the types of category shifts and explaining their occurrence in the translation of complex noun phrases from English into Indonesian in The Valley of Fear Novel. The data were collected using observation method which was supported by implementing note taking technique in order to find out, identify, and classify the data. The data were analyzed by applying the qualitative descriptive method. The theory applied in this study is the theory of translation proposed by Catford (1965) to identify the types of category shifts found and to explain their occurrence. The result shows that all types of category shifts proposed by Catford (1965) such as structure shift, class shift, intra-system shift, and unit shift are found in the translation. Structure shift occurs in the highest frequency of 339 cases or about 66,86% out of total 507 cases, class shift occurs 75 cases or 14,79 % out of total 507 cases, and intra-system shift occurs 48 cases or 9,46 % out of total 507 cases, and unit shift occurs 45 cases or 8,87 % out of total 507 cases. The occurrence of category shift is caused by the different characteristics of source language and target language.

This study examines the meaning of symbols and interpretations of local wisdom in ma’nene’ rituals in the Baruppu community of North Toraja Regency using a qualitative descriptive approach. Data regarding words and behavior in rituals were obtained through interview techniques, note-taking, recording, and documentation in the form of photos and videos. Data analysis used Pierce's semiotic theory. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the ma’nene’ ritual is divided into two stages, namely: 1) Preparation (a) Ma'kongan ada', (b) Kapenomban pa'paranduk, (c) Manta'da, (d) Ma' pakande ada', (e) Umpasun bombongan; and 2) Implementation of (a) Ma'bungka', (b) Ma'kassa'i, (c) Massomba tedong, (d) Manglokko tedong sola bai, (e) Ma'pakande nene', (f) Mantutu', (g) Capenomban pa'paupu'. In carrying out the ritual, there are various symbols, including: (1) Tau-tau, (2) Bombongan, (3) Pangngan, (4) Kain ba'ru, (5) Tedong sola bai, (6) Bo'bo 'sola duku', (7) Punti leaves, (8) Tallang. Based on the semiotic analysis of the symbols in the ritual, several types of local wisdom were found, namely: (a) religious values, (b) brotherhood, and (c) unity.

This paper discusses the use of Indonesian language and Banjar language conjunctions in “18 Banjarese Stories”. The purpose of this study is to describe the use of Indonesian language and Banjar language conjunction devices in “18 Banjar Stories”. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. This research uses an observation method. The data collection techniques are note taking and analyzed with distributional method. The data are sentences or discourse quotation containing conjunction device in “18 Banjar Stories”. The data source of this study is taken from the book of “18 Stories of Banjar people by Supiani, S.Pd. published by Hemat Amuntai, consist of 77 pages in 2016. The results show that the use of conjunction device found in Banjar language are as follows: comparison conjunction devices “as if” (tunang kaya), and “like” (kaya), temporal conjunction devices, “after” (imbah), “then” (lalu), after that (imbahnitu), additive conjunction devices “other than” (salain nangitu), “and” (lawan), adversative conjunction devices (contrast) “but” (tapi), conditional conjunction device “because” (sabab) and exemplifying conjunction device “if” (mun). Meanwhile, the use of Indonesian conjunction devices found in the book “18 Banjar Stories” are additive conjunction device “and” (dan), corrective conjunction device “or” (atau), and temporal conjunction devices “after” (setelah), “then” (lalu), and “next time” (kemudian).Key word: conjunction, discourse, Banjar Language

This paper aims to find the ideational functions in bahasa Kaili. Linguistics Systemic Function Halliday is used to find that Ideational Function. The data is collected through a library method, using reading and note taking techniques. Data were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of the analysis showed that in the mental process, there is only one participant in a clause, in the form of a human, who senses-thinks, feels-who always has consciousness. While in the material process, every participant is something, while in the mental process, concerning perceived, thoughtful, or accepted, the position of sense or sense is not only limited to certain semantic or grammatical categories but broader than the participants in the process material. In short, participants in mental processes are not just ‘something’ but, it can be facts. It is lead to one conclusion that in general, the structure of the Kaili and Indonesian language clauses is not quite different between each other.

Vlog (video blogging)  is a form of blogging activity using vlog medium which represents personality and usually discusses, tells, or discusses about certain content. Besides being entertainment, video blogging also provide knowledge for the audience. One of the vlog that is full of knowledge is the vlog "Q&A Session 3" contained on Sherly Annavita Rahmi's channel on social media Youtube. Please note that the types of vlogs that are often uploaded in the YouTube channel are motivational vlogs, Question & Answers (Q&A), and speakers' opinions on various issues. This study aims to describe the range of illocutionary speech acts that exist in the V&A Q&A Session 3. The research approach is a qualitative descriptive approach. At the stage of data collection, the authors use the observation of referring to downloading vlogs first, and followed by the note taking technique. The author uses the method of referring to downloading vlogs and continued with note taking techniques to collect data. Data analysis was performed by transcription, translation analysis and interpretation, then making conclusions about the types of illocutionary speech acts used by speakers in the V&A Q&A Session 3. The research data is in the form of utterances delivered by Sherly Annavita Rahmi's youtube channel account owner. Based on the data analysis, there are five types of speech acts of are (1) asertive speech acts, including stating, speculating, and mentioning; (2) directive ordering, giving cue, suggesting, and urging; (3) expressive thank you, criticize, and congratulations; (4) commisives, includes offer; and (5) Declarative, including deciding. AbstractOnline Shopping Registers on Social Media Applications. Registers is a variation of language used ina particular field in which applied in the use of selling and purchasing transaction language. Therefore,this study examines (1) the process of morphology registers in online shopping, (2) the registers syntaxstructure in online shopping, and (3) the variations of registers stylistic form in the online shopping onsocial media application. This research uses qualitative descriptive approach. Data and source of data ofthis research is in a written speech form which taken from sellers and buyers who communicate duringonline shopping transaction. Data collection technique uses observation method through intensivereading and writing techniques. Data analysis techniques of this research are through three steps suchas reduction data, presentation data and conclusion. The results obtained are as follows. First, themorphology process found in the registers includes (1) affixation, (2) reduplication, (3) composition, and(4) abbreviation. Second, the syntactic structure found in the register is in the form of ellipsis sentenceswith the subject delegation, predicate and subject with predicate. Register merupakan variasi bahasa yangdigunakan dalam bidang tertentu yang salah satunya penggunaan bahasa dalam jual beli. Olehsebab itu, penelitian ini mengkaji tentang (1) proses morfologis register jual beli online, (2) struktursintaksis register jual beli online, dan (3) wujud variasi stilistik register jual beli online pada beberapaaplikasi media sosial. Peneltian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Data dan sumberdata penelitian ini ialah tuturan tertulis dari penjual dan pembeli yang berkomunikasi selama prosesjual beli online berlangsung. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode simak melalui teknikpembacaan intensif dan pencatatan. Teknik analisis data melalui langkah reduksi data, penyajian datadan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah sebagai berikut. Pertama, prosesmorfologis yang ditemukan meliputi; (1) afiksasi, (2) reduplikasi, (3) komposisi, dan (4) abreviasi.Kedua, struktur sintaksis yang ditemukan berupa kalimat elipsis dengan pelesapan subjek, predikatserta subjek dan predikat. Ketiga, wujud variasi stilistik yang ditemukan meliputi; (1) campur kode, (2)interferensi, dan (3) penggunaan ragam santai.Kata-kata kunci: register, morfologis register, sintaksis register, variasi stilistik register

This study aims to describe 1) the form of cohesion contained in the news Watching Sakinah Movies, UIN Yogyakarta Give Praise Students and 2) describing the forms of coherence contained in the news Watching Sakinah Film, Students of UIN Yogyakarta Give Praise. The subjects used in this study were news of watching Sakinah film, UIN Yogyakarta students giving praise, and the objects used were sentences containing grammatical cohesion, a form of lexical cohesion. The approach used in this study is a qualitative descriptive approach. The data in this study are sentences in the news of Watching Sakinah Movies, This student is a method of literature study. While the method of data analysis in this study is descriptive method analysis method, the method used to analyze and describe cohesion markers and analyze markers of coherence. Test The results of the study show that in the news of watching Sakinah films, UIN Yogyakarta Beri Pujian students have varied markers of cohesion and coherence in the Tebuireng Online news discourse. Cohesion markers were found to reference (3), substitution (1), ellipsis (2), conjunction (3), collocation (1), and markers of coherence found cause-effect relationships (2), relationship coherence suggestions — goals (1), coherence temporal relations (1), and coherence of causal relationships (1).

Cohesion and coherence in discourse play a role in forming a wholeness in the discourse itself, both discourse and writing. One of the written discourses is the news in the Jawa Pos newspaper, which is the distribution of basic food packages breaking the fast of Ramadhan for the poor in the Tuban area held by PT. PJB UBJOM PLTU Tanjung Awar-awar, in this news is thought to contain elements of cohesion and coherence. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach and discourse analysis techniques. The data obtained contains cohesion and coherence. In this data collection, namely by listening to the news and recording it. The results of this study include grammatical cohesion, lexical cohesion and its coherence. Grammatical cohesion includes reference cohesion, recovery cohesion, release cohesion and liaison cohesion. In addition to cohesion there is also coherence that is like the coherence of the means of purpose, the coherence of reasons for action, the coherence of the meaning of reason and so forth. With the discovery of the use of cohesion and discourse coherence in Jawa Pos news.
