This article attempts to explain to readers how to describe the traditions, culture and empowerment of coastal communities on the island of Sabang. As is well known, Sabang is the main mouthpiece of Aceh's tourist destinations which are often introduced to all countries around the world. Sabang Island is no less attractive than the island of the gods Bali, but somehow Sabang is not as popular as Bali. In fact, Indonesia's initial barometer starts from Sabang, marked by the Zero Kilometer Monument of Indonesia which is located at the end of the island of Sabang. If you claim to be an explorer throughout Indonesia, then it is not worth mentioning that you have traveled throughout Indonesia if you have not set foot in Sabang, especially if you have not arrived at the Zero Kilometer Monument. A portrait of the welfare of the Sabang coastal community is also described in this article. People on Sabang Island have various traditions and cultures that are not necessarily shared by other coastal communities, such as the short market tradition and the culture of napping, subjects who have the authority to trade in the Sabang market have a tradition of opening shops or starting buying and selling activities starting from after dawn (dark morning) until noon (12:00) continue after Asr (16:00) until evening (22:00), meaning from 12:00 to 16:00 all trading activities in the market Sabang is not active. The final conclusion in this article explains that it is time and should the coastal communities be empowered both from the economic, educational, social and cultural sides. When there is a prosperous society, the leader in the area is also categorized as a leader who has the potential to prosper the people. All people in Indonesia certainly want the “welfare” cake, but to make it happen it is very much influenced at the local level, this is what is often forgotten by each individual in general, without realizing small things can actually have a big impact on the social welfare of our society. nowadays. The achievement of the basic needs of the people is a portrait of prosperity and prosperity, because no matter how high the positions of government officials are, they are still serving the people, in fact the people are the real bosses.

Between July 13-24, 2019 the people of Puerto Rico took the streets after a series of corruption scandals shocked the political establishment. The social uprising resulted in the ousting of the Governor of Puerto Rico (Dr. Ricardo Rosselló, Ricky), the resignation of the majority of his staff something unprecedented in the history of Puerto Rico; this period has been called El Verano del 19 (Summer of 19). Social media played a crucial role in both the organization and dissemination of the protests, marches, and other activities that occurred within this period. Puerto Ricans in the island and around the world engaged in this social movement through the digital revolution mainly under the hashtag #RickyRenuncia (Ricky Resign), with a small counter movement under the hashtag #RickySeQueda (Ricky will stay). The purpose of this study is to illustrate the magnitude and grass roots nature of the political movement’s social media presence, as well as their characteristics of the population of both movements and their structures. We found that #RickyRenuncia was used approximately one million times in the period of analysis while #RickySeQueda barely reached 6,000 tweets. Particularly, the pervasiveness of cliques in the #RickySeQueda show concentrations of authority dedicated to its propagation, whilst the #RickyRenuncia propagation was much more distributed and decentralized with little to no interaction between significant nodes of authority. Noteworthy was the role of the Puerto Rican diaspora in the United States of America and around the world, contributing close to 40% of all geo-located tweets. Finally, we found that the Twitter followers of the former governor had indicators of being composed of two distinct populations: 1) those active in social media and 2) those who follow the account but who are not active participants of the social network. We discuss the implications of these findings on the interpretation of emergence, structure and dissemination of social activism and countermovement to these activities in the context of Puerto Rico.

Politics is regarded in many parts of the world, especially in Africa, as a space meant exclusively for men. Therefore, women venturing into politics are made to believe that they are misfits, and the idea is anathematized and strangulated from the outset by those who are supposed to encourage the women. It is popularly believed that it is natural for men to rule over women, while it is considered abnormal and unnatural for women to rule over men. Although different societies have at one time or the other in history been ruled by queens and female warriors, at least, that is not usually seen as bizarre in societies that practice monarchical or imperial rule. In a democracy, however, a lot of people vehemently oppose the idea of a woman vying for a political office. In the case of Africa, two factors are responsible for this: the African people’s colonial experience and the bifurcation of the social sphere into public and private spaces. This has entrenched gender roles into the scheme of social reality held by the people. The people hold that certain roles must be performed by women while certain roles are exclusively for men. This culture has made it increasingly difficult to achieve parity and egalitarianism in gender relations in contemporary Africa and to achieve meaningful development in Africa. This article suggests ideological decolonization as a way out of the current predicament of the African women as the subaltern in the patriarchal and hostile political space of contemporary Africa.

The article examines the contents’ peculiarity of the play “Late Love” in accord with its author’s artistic intentions. For the first time hand-written materials (rough copies and the play’s draft) have been taken into account and brought into academic use; the chirographs make it possible to bring to light the main points of the play and its vital problems. Special attention is paid to still greater importance the author was lending to the love story while working at the play; it helps to reveal the meaning of the play’s title. It is noted that for the first time Alexander Ostrovsky had shown a highly moral heroine who committed crime for the sake of the man she loved. In this connection, a few opinions of some critics are cited who gave negative estimation to the play. Analysing the play’s artistic merits the authors of the article take notice of the fact that the action is concentrated in time and space. The Shablovs’ house where lawyers, a tradesman, a landlady, and a clerk make their appearance, reflects to a certain extent the social strata of the post-reformed Russia and the tendencies typical of that world. The study of the initial draft made it clear that Alexander Ostrovsky thought over at first the play’s “scenario”, the number of personages, determined their characters and their role in the action’s development. The dramatic action and the happy end draw the spectators to the conclusion that a human’s salvation from its moral ruin is love, personal ability to repent and to realise its responsibility for the people close to it and for the world as a whole.
