In the year 2020 we live the irruption of an unknown virus that caused our life habits to change. The various means through which a consumer can connect to the Internet took on greater importance, increasing the daily use of smartphones and personal computers. E-learning or virtual teaching became the only option to continue training from home. The strict confinement that was established, due to COVID-19, closed all the centers considered non-essential, such as schools, institutes or universities. The increase in students in this type of education in recent years was already a fact, since one of the main problems of traditional education, geographic distance, was eliminated. The objective of the research is based on demonstrating, through experience in the Social Media Manager course, that in the face of the COVID-19 situation, online training, e-learning or virtual teaching facilitated the ability to continue training at people from home and that a high percentage completed the course satisfactorily. For this, we present the theoretical framework where e-learning is located, as well as the experience in virtual teaching in the Continuing Training Course "Social Media Manager", which was taught entirely online through the Virtual Classroom of the university in a situation of total confinement due to the COVID-19 virus. And although some studies indicate that there is low motivation and a high degree of abandonment in this type of study, in our case the results show that 82.5% did it satisfactorily with an “Apt” grade, and only there was one student (2.5%) who did not get to carry out any activity of the course. Research shows us that with optimal resources and good management, positive results can be achieved.

Campaigns nowadays are oftenly carried through social medias, including campaigns concerning the environment. Based on previous studies, effectivity of campaigns through social medias were affected by many factors, such as the activity of the online administrator, additional socialization that were carried off- line, and also the involvement of the active followers in social medias. However, this paper views environmental campaign in social medias could be effective if viewed from another side, that is social network. This study sees how social network can improve the effectivity of environmental campaigns in social medias, therefore it’s safe to say that this study brings an addition to previous studies related tofactors that influenced the effectivity of environmental campaigns that utilized social medias as a channel of communication. The method used for this paper is qualitative method, with case study on Melawan Asap (Fight the Haze) campaign initiated by BEM UI (Executive Board of Students of University of Indonesia) in 2015 to form an alliance consisting several organizations from inside and outside of the university. Collection of data for this study was done with in-depth interviews with certain informants, based on a criteria established previously by the author, beside an observation upon social media accounts that were used for Fight the Haze campaign. The result shows that the involvement of networks in social media affects the effectivity of Fight the Haze campaign. Also, the social relation between organizations that are united under the alliance of Fight the Haze campaign are based on sentimental network.

During '90s, a debate initiated between Clark and Kozma about the role of media on learning. While Clark proposed that the media had no effect on learning, Kozma proposed that learning is influenced when method and media is combined and appropriately used. In today's world, the role of social media on learning is inevitable since social media is increasingly used by individuals with the purpose of searching for information and watching instructional videos. In this respect, the influence of social media on learning is investigated in this study within the context of Kozma's perspective. Correspondingly, the instructional content provided by social media, the appropriate instructional methods, and implications for learning theories are discussed in this chapter, together with certain practical applications. In the end, social coding platform, collaborative e-learning platform, and virtual classroom management simulation are described as practical social media applications.

This article examines the radicalization of young adults in relation to internet access and the social media content produced and managed by radical groups in Indonesia. Some of the research problems that become the major concern of this article were how young people respond to the internet and social media that provide radical content, how they find out about and access the content, what their purposes are for accessing radical content, and what they do with the radical content. The data discussed in this article were obtained from surveys and interviews with 700 students from seven state universities in Indonesia who were allegedly exposed to radicalism, according to the National Agency for Combating Terrorism (BNPT). The state universities that became research locations were the University of Indonesia (UI), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Bogor Agriculture University (IPB), Diponegoro University (Undip), the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), and the University of Brawijaya (UB). This study revealed that in addition to accessing and consuming various radical content, some students also acted as prosumers. That is, they did not only read, but also produced information related to radicalization, and then recirculated it via social media.

The social media have become part and parcel of the modern society, as they are a social communication channel. Using social networks for connecting to potential users have been increasingly important for the libraries. The libraries have been setting up groups and accounts in the social media to connect to their users, to draw attention to their work and to widen its scope. The university libraries, like many other libraries of educational institutions, participate in the process. This paper examines the perspectives of female's students at a new university in Saudi Arabia to use social media as e-learning tools to support their learning. It also aims to investigate their current usage of these tools and the benefits behind using these tools for learning. Another aim of this study is to examine the difficulties that females' students face when they use social media tools in their learning process. The study participants comprised 23 Saudi females' students at a new university and surveyed was used to collect data for this study. The results indicate that female students are using social media tools and their opinions largely coincide regarding the benefits of and barriers to social media usage. The study recommends that future research on the usage of social media tools for learning and teaching be extended to include a wider demographic base at the same or a different university to further explore the extent to which these tools used for learning. The study provides insights that may help decision-makers at the university to recognise the extent to which females use and integrate social media tools to facilitate the educational process.
