Delinquent adolescents with depressive disorder have a higher number than the general adolescent population. Depression is associated with negative behavior and moral misconduct that can endanger themselves and society. Thus, this study aims to identify the effectiveness of the Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) module in overcoming depression among delinquent adolescents. This study involved a total of 100 adolescents age between 15 to 20 who were detained under the juvenile justice system at Sekolah Tunas Bakti (STB), Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. All respondents were selected using simple random sampling and divided into two groups, namely the treatment group (n = 50) who received therapy using the REBT module, and the control group (n = 50) who were not given the same therapy. ANCOVA repeated measure was used to identify the significant changes in depression score between groups. The results of the analysis showed that there were significant differences between groups. Adolescents who were received therapy using the REBT module showed lower depression scores than adolescents from the control group. This study provides an important finding as an alternative intervention therapy to be used by the therapists and the trainers at the juvenile rehabilitation center in promoting adolescents’ positive emotions.

Background: Pulmonary TB is an infectious disease caused by mycobacterium tuborkulosis and is contagious. The family of pulmonary TB patients plays a very important role in the transmission of pulmonary TB disease. Preliminary data collection shows that four out of five (80%) families of pulmonary TB sufferers so far have gained knowledge about the transmission of pulmonary TB, but in their daily use personal protective equipment is rarely used. The family said they rarely wear masks because they feel fine without the masks, the family also feels wearing masks will hurt the feelings of people with pulmonary TB.Purpose: This study aimed to determine the effect of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy on preventive measures for transmission of patients with pulmonary TB.Methods: This study used a quasy experiment research design with a non-randomized control group design pretest-posttest approach. The sample in this study was the family of pulmonary TB patients at UPTD Puskesmas Puhjarak Kediri who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, with a sampling technique using purposive sampling. The independent variable of this study was Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy and the dependent variable was family preventive measures. The instrument used to measure preventive measures for pulmonary TB transmission is a questionnaire which contains 12 questions, and for the independent variable of memory therapy is SAK research. The research data were processed using the Wilcoxon signed ranks test and Mann-Whitney. Alternative hypotheses are accepted if p <0.05.Results: The results showed that the Mann Whitney test results in the treatment and control groups at the time of the pretest showed a value of p = 0.690 and at the posttest was p = 0.000. Wilcoxon signed rank test results show in the treatment group after treatment p = 0.005, while in the control group when posttest was p = 0.317.Conclusion: The results of the assessment of preventive measures for pulmonary TB transmission between the treatment group and the control group after the implementation of Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy showed that there were differences in the value of preventive measures for pulmonary TB transmission between the treatment group and the control group after receiving Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy

Irrational thinking is something that has been experienced by every human being, including students. Albert Ellis said that irrational thoughts play a role in harming others. starting from irrational thoughts which make a person influenced by the impostor, where when the impostor decreases, the irrational thoughts experienced will also decrease. This study will examine the impostor as a mediator of the relationship between the nature of the impostor that we associate with one of the counseling techniques REBT. The stage before giving the survey, the author conducted a webinar with the theme “Who is the impostor in our life”. After conducting the webinar, the authors distributed the survey link to active students 2017 - 2020 regarding the nature of the impostor. Through the results of the survey link given, it is obtained data that the impostor's attitude affects human behavior. Respondents assume that they recognize the impostors who are in themselves and those around them. The objective of this article is to reply to Dr. Albert Ellis’s application of his rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT) paradigm to the issue of exercise and sport avoidance. This article begins with a consideration of why people avoid exercise and sport participation and an identification of what needs to be modified for people to initiate and adhere to exercise and sport programs. Then, in reponse to Dr. Ellis’s discussion, some of the key elements of his proposed program are reviewed. Additionally, some of his techniques are reinterpreted in a manner with which exercise/sport psychologists may be more familiar. Also, some suggestions are offered to enhance the impact of REBT to exercise and sport avoidance.

Objective. The efficacy of antidepressant drugs combined with psychotherapy is controversial; hence, this meta-analysis was conducted to assess the efficacy of the combination therapy. Methods. Relevant literature was searched in PubMed, Web of Science and Embase, Chinese databases CNKI, and WanFang Data. We included the literature on the comparison of the sertraline combined with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and each treatment alone for adolescent depression published in 2000-2021. Meta-analysis was performed using Stata16.0 software. Results. A total of 421 relevant articles were retrieved, and 14 studies were finally included. In comparison with the control group (sertraline), sertraline combined with CBT achieved higher response rate ( OR = 5.07 , 95% CI: 3.00, 8.58) and lower incidence of adverse reactions ( OR = 0.43 , 95% CI: 0.24, 0.75). Before treatment, there were no significant differences in depression score, anxiety score, and symptom self-rating scale score between the two groups. After treatment, depression score ( SMD = − 2.79 , 95% CI: -3.64, -1.94), anxiety score ( SMD = − 1.22 , 95% CI: -1.96, -0.47), and symptom self-rating scale score ( SMD = − 1.73 , 95% CI: -3.19, -0.27) were significantly lower in the combined treatment group than in the control group. Conclusion. Although the number of comparative trials is small, this study shows that sertraline is effective for adolescent depression, but sertraline combined with CBT is more effective. The latter can significantly reduce the incidence of depressive symptoms, anxiety, and adverse reactions in patients. Therefore, this combination therapy is recommended for the clinical treatment of adolescent depression.
