Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektifitas dua konsentrasi ekstrak kombinasi jamur kayu (G. lucidum) dengan daun sirsak (A. muricata) dibandingkan dengan obat diabetes jenis glibenklamid.  Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimental toksisitas akut dengan lima kelompok perlakuan dan lima ulangan. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji Friedman dengan uji lanjut Mann-Whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jumlah konsentrasi ideal kombinasi ekstrak jamur kayu (G. lucidum) dengan daun sirsak (A. muricata) yang dapat diinduksi terhadap tikus galur wistar hiperglikemia adalah 150 mg/kgBB dan 300 mg/kgBB tikus. Kombinasi ekstrak berpengaruh terhadap kontrol gula darah tikus galur wistar. Konsentrasi optimum kombinasi ekstrak di antara kedua dosis uji ekstrak adalah 300 mg/kgBB. ABSTRACTSawilangit leaves (Vernonia Cinerea (L.) Less) is a plant that contains flavonoids as an antipyretic. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of flavonoid compounds from ethanol extract of sawilangit (Vernonia cinerea (L.) Less) leaves as an antipyretic in male white rats Wistar strain (Rattus norvegicus) induced by DPT vaccine. A total of 15 male rats were divided into 5 treatment groups, namely the negative control group (CMC 1%), the positive control group (paracetamol), and the ethanol extract group of sawilangit leaves with a dose of 200 mg, a dose of 400 mg, a dose of 800 mg. Each mouse was induced intramuscularly with a DPT vaccine at a dose of 0.3 ml. Temperature measurements were carried out before and after induction, then every 30 minutes after giving the test material from the 30th minute to the 180th minute. Data were analyzed statistically with One Way ANOVA and continued with LSD test to see significant differences between treatments. The results showed that the ethanol extract of sawilangit leaves had an antipyretic effect on male white rats Wistar strain..Key words: Antipyretics, Vernonia Cinerea, male white rats ABSTRAKDaun Sawilangit  (Vernonia Cinerea (L.) Less) adalah salah satu tanaman yang mengandung zat Flavonoid sebagai antipiratik. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui adanya efektivitas senyawa flavonoid dari ekstrak etanol daun sawilangit (Vernonia cinerea (L.) Less) sebagai antipiretik pada tikus putih jantan galur wistar (Rattus norvegicus) yang diinduksi vaksin DPT. Sebanyak 15 ekor tikus putih jantan dibagi 5 kelompok perlakuan yaitu kelompok kontrol negatif (CMC 1%), kelompok kontrol positif (parasetamol), dan kelompok ekstrak etanol daun sawilangit dosis 3,6 mg, dosis 7,2 mg, dosis 14,4 mg. setiap tikus diinduksi vaksin DPT dosis 0,3 ml secara intramuscular. Pengukuran suhu dilakuan sebelum dan sesudah induksi, kemudian setiap 30 menit  setelah pemberian bahan uji dari menit ke-30 sampai menit ke-180. Data dianalisis secara statistika dengan One Way ANOVA dan dilanjutkan uji LSD untuk melihat beda nyata antar perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Ekstrak etanol daun sawilangit mempunyai efek antipiretik terhadap tikus putih jantan galur wistar. Kata kunci: Antipiretik, Vernonia Cinerea, tikus putih jantan

ABSTRACT Kumis Kucing Leaves (Orthosiphon aristatus (Blume) Miq.) contains flavonoid compounds that has antioxidants activity that inhibits the action of the enzyme xanthine oxidase with reduced uric acid as result. This research is done to find out the effects antihyperuricemia ethanol extract of Kumis Kucing leaves on male white rat (Rattus norvegicus). 15 rats were used in this research and there were 5 treatment groups that is negative control (NACMC 1%), positive control (Allopurinol) 1,8 mg, and Kumis Kucing leaves extract group with dosage of 4,5 mg, 9 mg, 18 mg. The result of this research showed a decrease on uric acid value after ethanol extract of Kumis Kucing leave were given. The next result of this research used ANOVA test and LSD test, that showed the ethanol extract of Kumis Kucing leave had Antihyperuricemia activity on male white rat.Keywords:  Orthosiphon aristatus (Blume.) Miq., Antihyperuricemia, Rattus norvegicus.   ABSTRAK Daun kumis kucing (Orthosiphon aristatus (Blume) Miq.) mengandung senyawa flavonoid yang mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan yang dapat menghambat kerja enzim xantin oksidase sehingga pembentukan asam urat berkurang. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui efek antihiperurisemia ekstrak etanol daun kumis kucing, terhadap tikus putih jantan (Rattus norvegicus). Penelitian ini menggunakan 15 ekor tikus dan terdapat 5 kelompok perlakuan yaitu kontrol negatif (NaCMC 1%), kontrol positif (Allopurinol) 1,8 mg, dan kelompok ekstrak daun kumis kucing dengan dosis 4,5 mg, 9 mg, 18 mg. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai asam urat mengalami penurunan setelah diberikan ekstrak etanol daun kumis kucing. Hasil penelitian selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan uji ANOVA dan uji LSD, menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun kumis kucing memiliki aktivitas antihiperurisemia terhadap tikus putih jantan. Kata kunci: Orthosiphon aristatus (Blume.) BACKGROUND: High-fat diet (HFD) is associated with dyslipidemia which is a risk factor for atherosclerosis. Dyslipidemia causes oxidative stress which induces vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1). Oxidative stress also triggers the thickening of tunica intima-media (IMT) and Perivascular Adipose Tissue (PVAT). Xanthone compound in ethanolic extract of Mangosteen pericarp (EEMP) has an antioxidant property to overcome the oxidative stress. AIM: The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of dietary EEMP administration on the expression of VCAM-1 and thickness of PVAT and IMT in atherosclerotic rat model fed with HFD. METHODS: This experimental laboratory study uses 25 Wistar strain Rattus norvegicus which were divided into 5 study groups. Negative Control group (GT1) was given a normal diet, Positive Control group (GT2) was treated with HFD, and three treatment groups were each treated with HFD with Mangosteen pericarp extract of 200 mg/kg BW (GT3), 400 mg/kg BW (GT4), and 800 mg/kg BW (GT5). Measurements of VCAM-1 expression were performed using immunofluorescence. PVAT and IMT measurements were performed on rat aortic preparations. RESULTS: One-way ANOVA test showed the addition of dietary EEMP significantly (p < 0.05) decreased the expression of VCAM-1 and decreased the thickness of PVAT and IMT in treatment groups as compared with both negative and positive controls. Tukey HSD test showed a dose of 800 mg/kg BW was the most effective dose for decreasing VCAM-1 level, PVAT and IMT. CONCLUSION: Dietary EEMP significantly decreases the expression of VCAM-1, as well as the thickness of PVAT and IMT in Wistar strain Rattus norvegicus treated with HFD.

ABSTRACTJatropha leaves (Jatropha curcas L.) contains alkaloid, saponin, tannin, terpenoid, steroid, glycoside, phenol compound and flavonoid through ethanol extract. Until today the community still used the plant as a wound healing medicine. The aim of this study is to examine the effectiveness of jatropha curcas L. leaf extract ointment for healing in male white rats wistar strain.  Jatropha leaves extract ointment was tested on 5 which consists of 3 rats in each treatment groups, that is base ointment (negative control), ointment betadine (positive control), ointment extract of Jatropha leaves 10%, 20% and 40%. Observations has made until the 14th day. And data were tested using ANOVA (Analysis of Variants) and continued with LSD (Least Significant Different) test.  Statistical test results showed a difference in the duration of wound healing in male white rats wistar strain between the ointment extract of jatropha leaf with ointment betadine and vaseline ointment. Keywords: Ointment, Jatropha extract (Jatropha curcas L.), Galur wistar, Wound.ABSTRAK Daun jarak pagar (Jatropha curcas L.) mengandung zat-zat alkaloid, saponin, tannin, terpenoid, steroid, glikosida, senyawa fenol dan flavonoid melalui ekstrak etanol. Hingga saat ini masyarakat masih menggunakan tanaman tersebut sebagai obat penyembuh luka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas salep ekstrak etanol daun jarak pagar terhadap penyembuhan luka sayat pada tikus putih jantan galur wistar. Salep ekstrak daun jarak pagar  diujikan pada hewan uji tikus sebanyak 5 yang terdiri dari 3 ekor tikus disetiap kelompok perlakuan, yaitu  basis salep (kontrol negatif), salep betadine (kontrol positif), salep ekstrak etanol daun jarak pagar 10%, 20% dan 40%. Pengamatan dilakukan sampai hari ke 14. Data diuji dengan menggunakan ANOVA (Analisis Of Variant) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji LSD (Least Significant Different). Hasil uji statistik menunjukan adanya perbedaan terhadap lamanya penyembuhan luka pada tikus putih jantan galur wistar antara sediaan salep ekstrak daun jarak pagar dengan salep salep betadine dan basis salep. Kata Kunci: Salep, Daun jarak pagar (Jatropha curcas L.), Galur wistar, Luka sayat.

The process of "aging" causes a decline in physical and mental strength. In general, more and more bodily organs are complained of by elderly people, and suffer from chrnic diseases. Older men experience various changes including a decrease in endocrine, cardiovascular, neurological, eye, skin, reproductive and so on. The Late Onset Hypogonadism (LOH) is a syndrome that decreases sexual, physical, and psychological abilities associated with a decrease in testosterone levels in the blood. In middle age, the age of 45-59 years begins to decrease body function, including decreased reproductive function and the function of sexuality, hormones such as testosterone. which is known as aging process. Testosterone is an anabolic hormone. Giving Ganoderma Lucidum in a preliminary study of normal one-year-old male Rattus norvegicus rats, water extract (dekok) and ethanol extract with different doses, 10 mg / kg, 20 mg / kg bw, and 30 mg kg / bb proved to increase total testosterone hormone serum significantly at a dose of 30 mg / kg bw, then researchers increase the dose to 50 mg / kg bw. Purpose of the study: Analyzing the effect of dekok extract or Ganoderma lucidum ethanolic extract on the hormone testosterone, testicular Leidiq cells that are undergoing the aging process. Results: Test profile of testosterone, after administration between controls, extract of dekok and male ethanol extract of 18 months old male Leydig Rattus norvegicus testis. In different tests on testosterone, there were significant differences between controls, dekok extract and ethanol extract. The results of testosterone levels in ethanol extract were higher. Conclusion: Dekok and Ganoderm lucidum ethanol extract can increase testosterone hormone

The snake fruit peel (Salacca zalacca (Gaertn.) Voss) traditionally has several health benefits, one of which is to treat diabetes mellitus. This study aimed to determine the content of secondary metabolites in the ethanolic extract of snake fruit peel and its activity on glucose and urea creatinine levels in male white rats (Rattus norvegicus). Phytochemical screening of extracts was carried out qualitatively and quantitatively using UV-Vis Spectrophotometry. This study is a laboratory experimental study using 30 test animals divided into 6 treatment groups (normal control, negative control, positive control, 70 mg/kg BW, 140 mg/kg BW, and 280 mg/kg BW). The results showed that the ethanol extract of the bark of the salak fruit contained 7.61 %w/w alkaloids, flavonoids 0.041% w/w, tannins 1.18% w/w, and saponins 2% w/w. Ethanol extract of salak fruit peel dose of 140 mg/kg BW affected decreasing blood glucose and urea creatinine levels. The skin of the salak fruit has the potential to be further investigated as an antidiabetic.

The aim of this study was to analyze the effects of ethanol extract of sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata) on fatty liver percentage, serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (SGOT) level and lipid profile of wistar strain white rat exposed to high fat diet. The study used randomized post test only control group design. Total sample was 50 male wistar strain rats (Rattus norvegicus) divided randomly into 5 groups (randomization). The normality test used was Kolmogorov Smirnov test (a=0.05). The homogeneity test used was Levene test (a=0.05). The comparative test was done using Anova test (analysis of variance) (a=0.05) or Brown-Forsythe test (a=0.05). The correlation test was done using Pearson test (a=0.05). The administration of sambiloto ethanol extract with doses of 100, 200 and 400 milligrams (mg)/kilogram (kg) body weight (BW) decreased the percentage of fatty liver (r=-0.950), SGOT (r=-0.964)/SGPT (r=(R=-0.973)/LDL (low-density lipoprotein) (r=-0.960) and increased HDL (high-density lipoprotein) levels (r=-0.923)=0.956) in white rats exposed to a high-fat diet. In conclusion, increased dose of ethanol extract of sambiloto can decrease the percentage of fatty liver, SGOT/SGPT and total cholesterol/TG/LDL and increase HDL level of white rats exposed to high fat diet.
