Background: Therapeutic communication is a way to foster therapeutic relationships between nurse-clients. In the communication process occurs the delivery of information, which can be used as an effective tool in providing nursing care to children. There are several possibilities of less successful therapeutic communication in children such as influenced by lack of knowledge of therapeutic communication, nurse attitude, education level, experience, environment, number of perceived power less and others. Treatment room 1 is a children's disease room with a bed capacity of 10 pieces with the number of preschool children as many as 18 people. According to Minister of Health Decree No. 262 year 2000 Ratio of number of beds with number of nurses in non-educational C type RS, 2 beds versus 3-4 nurses. Looking at the data on the number of nurses and the number of bed capacity in the treatment room 1 RSDU Polewali Mandar is very unbalanced, so the likelihood of successful therapeutic communication in children is reduced and can affect the knowledge and attitude of nurses in therapeutic communication in preschoolers. To overcome the problem one of them is by using effective therapeutic communication that will and is being done nursing actions such as digging perassaan, mind, behavioral changes so that will be able to solve psychological problems in preschool age children. The purpose of this study is to know the relationship nurse knowledge level about communication therapeutic with the implementation of therapeutic communication in 6-year-old preschool children in the treatment room 1 RSUD Polewali Mandar. with type of research using cross sectional study The population of this research is mother of balita which is in sub district of Matakali district Polewali Mandar with number 2389 mother of toddler. Sampling is done by total sampling method that is all nurses who work in treatment room I as much as 21 implementing nurses.wwwwwwThe results showed that there was a correlation between the level of nurse knowledge about therapeutic communication with the implementation of therapeutic communication in preschool age children (6 years) in the treatment room 1 RSUD Polewali Mandar. Means there is a tendency that the higher knowledge the better the implementation of therapeutic communication itself, especially in children with significant degree of significance p = 0.007> 0.05 means H1 is rejected and H0 received. Expected to the Public Hospital dareah Polewali Mandar In order to get the maximum service improvement, so that patients and visitors feel satisfied with the services provided.

AbstractHaving treatment in a hospital (hospitalization) is an unpleasant and threatening experience for everyone, especially for children who are still in the process of growth and development. One way to resolve this problem is to use therapeutic communication effectively which will and will be carried out nursing actions. To communicate with children, special approaches or techniques are needed so that the relationship can run well according to the child's growth and development. One of the predisposing factors according to Lawrencen Green's theory is knowledge, when a nurse has good knowledge, her ability in therapeutic communication will be good too. The aim of study is to determine the relationship of knowledge with the therapeutic communication skills of nurses in pediatric patients. This research uses survey analytic methode with crosssectional. Sample in the study were 66 nurses in inpatient rooms of Graha Husada Hospital, technique purposive samplingfor sampling.Data analysis using the Spearman Rank (Rho) correlation test with a significance level (α = 0.05)  is obtained p value 0.025 (p <0.05). There is relationship of knowledge with therapeutic communication ability of nurses in pediatric patients treated at Graha Husada Hospital  Bandar Lampung. Nurses are expected to be able to improve services in providing nursing care to pediatric patients, especially preschool age pediatric patients. Objective: The associations between climate variables and diseases such as respiratory infections, influenza, pediatric seizure, and gastroenteritis have been long appreciated. Infection is the main reason for acute otitis media (AOM) incidence. However, few previous studies explored the correlation between climatic parameters and AOM infections. The most important meteorological factors, temperature, relative humidity, and fine particulate matter (PM2.5), were included in this study. We studied the relationship between these meteorological factors and the AOM visits. Materials and Methods: It was a retrospective cross-sectional study. A linear correlation and a linear regression model were used to explore the AOM visits and meteorological factors. Results: A total of 7075 emergency department visits for AOM were identified. Relative humidity was found an independent risk factor for the AOM visits in preschool children (regression coefficient = −10.841<0, P = .039 < .05), but not in infants and school-age children. Average temperature and PM2.5 were not correlated with AOM visits. Conclusion: Humidity may have a significant inverse impact on the incidence of AOM in preschool-age children.

Stunting is a global problem faced by the world and often occurs in children aged 3 – 5 years. The negative impact that will be caused by stunting in the 3-5 year age period in the long term is the disruption of children's psychosocial and motoric development. This study aims to see the relationship between motor and psychosocial development with stunting in preschool children (3 – 5 years) at the Baluse Health Center, Sigi Regency. The research design used was a cross-sectional study that assessed the relationship between motor and psychosocial development and stunting in preschool children (aged 3 – 5 years). The population used in this study were all preschool children (aged 3 – 5 years) with stunting in the Puskemas Baluse. The number of samples was 25 respondents who met the criteria for the research sample. The research was carried out at the Baluse Health Center, Sigi Regency from October 5 to 20, 2020. The research instrument used a questionnaire to measure the motoric and psychosocial development of children, while the measurement of stunting used microtoise and children's scales. The closeness and strength of the relationship between the two variables in this study used the Chi-Square statistical test. The results showed that most of the motor and psychosocial developments were in the abnormal category. The test of the relationship between motor and psychosocial development and stunting was carried out using the Chi-Square statistical test. The results showed that the P-value = 0.016 is smaller than the alpha value of 0.05, this indicates that stunting has a significant relationship with the motoric and psychosocial development of children. This study concludes that stunting has a relationship with motor and psychosocial development of children aged 3 – 5 years. Stunting children mostly have an abnormal motor and psychosocial development.

Abstract Background Childhood overweight and obesity have become significant public health challenges worldwide. This study aimed to explore whether caregivers’ feeding behavior and children’s eating behavior were associated with the weight status of preschool children in China. Methods A cross-sectional questionnaire was administered to 912 caregivers of preschool children from April to July 2016. Caregivers’ feeding behaviors were assessed by the Chinese Preschooler’s Caregiver Feeding Behavior Scale (CPCFBS). Children’s eating behaviors were evaluated using the Chinese Preschooler’s Eating Behavior Questionnaire (CPEBQ). After controlling for demographic characteristics, multiple linear regression and logistic regression analyses were performed to evaluate the relationship between caregivers’ feeding behavior, children's eating behavior, and children's body mass index (BMI). Results The results showed that weight concerns on the part of caregivers (β=0.53) and food responsiveness on the part of children (β=0.93) were positively correlated with children’s BMI, whereas caregivers’ responsibility for feeding (β=-0.68) and children’s external eating (β=-0.53) were negatively correlated with BMI. Among caregiver feeding behaviors, weight concerns (OR=4.54, P<0.001) and behavior-restricted feeding (OR=0.29, P<0.001) were positively correlated with children’s BMI. A child’s food responsiveness (OR=4.04, P<0.001) was also positively correlated with his/her BMI, while the child’s satiety responsiveness (OR=0.42, P<0.001) and emotional eating habits (OR=0.56, P<0.001) were negatively correlated with overweight/obesity status. Conclusions Our study demonstrated that children’s eating behavior and caregivers’ feeding behavior were associated with weight status among preschool children in China. Behavior interventions on caregivers as well as their children may prevent or reduce weight problems in preschool children. Trial registration This study was not a clinical experiment.

Both clinical and theoretical interest in stuttering as a disorder of speech motor control has led to numerous investigations of speaking rate in people who stutter. The majority of these studies, however, has been conducted with adult and school-age groups. Most studies of preschoolers have included older children. Despite the ongoing theoretical and clinical focus on speaking rate in young children who stutter and their parents, no longitudinal or cross-sectional studies have been conducted to answer questions about the possible developmental link between stuttering and the rate of speech, or about differences in rate development between preschool children who stutter and normally fluent children. This investigation compared changes in articulatory rate over a period of 2 years in subgroups of preschool-age children who stutter and normally fluent children. Within the group of stuttering children, comparisons also were made between those who exhibited persistent stuttering and those who eventually recovered without intervention. Furthermore, the study compared two metrics of articulatory rate. Spontaneous speech samples, collected longitudinally over a 2-year period, were analyzed acoustically to determine speaking rate measured in number of syllables and phones per second. Results indicated no differences among the 3 groups when articulation rate was measured in syllables per second. Using the phones per second measure, however, significant group differences were found when comparing the control group to the recovered and persistent groups.

Nutritional status is an important matter that needs to be paid attention during preschool. Malnutrition during this period will cause irreversible damage which cannot be recovered as an adult. The role of mothers in fulfilling the nutritional status of preschoolers is essential. Maternal perceptions influence the intentions and behavior of mothers in the nutritional needs of preschool children. This study aims to determine the effect of maternal perceptions on the development of children’s nutritional status at preschool age. This research was conducted at Slendro 1 Kindergarten, Slendro 2 Kindergarten, and Slendro Village PAUD Post, Gesi District, Sragen Regency (Central Java, Indonesia). The research used descriptive correlational design with cross-sectional approach. A total of 61 female student guardians who have preschool age children were used as samples. This study utilized two variables, namely maternal perception (support and barrier) as the independent variable and the nutritional status of preschool children as the dependent variable. The data were collected using a questionnaire and anthropometric measurements (BW/BH), then the data were analyzed using the Sperman Rho test (α ≤ 0.05). The results show that 59% of mothers had high perceptions and 41% of mothers had low perceptions of the nutritional status of preschool children. Statistical test results show that there is a significant relationship (ρ = 0.029) with a correlation coefficient (r = 0.280) between maternal perceptions and the nutritional status of children at preschool age. Perception has a huge influence on a mother’s intention in improving the nutritional status of a child. A positive maternal perception of the fulfillment of a child’s nutritional needs at preschool age can improve a child’s nutritional status.

This article presents the results of empirical research focused on the study of the value attitude of children of middle preschool age to the family, which we consider as the basis of spiritual and moral formation of preschool children. It is the attitude to the closest adults, as objectively proved by the cultural and historical concept of L.S. Vygotsky's development, that has the most decisive importance for the effectiveness of the whole process of personal formation. Given that moral development is not only an important component, but also the indicator of the full development of personality (studies F.A. Akhmatova, Z.Y. Barysheva, B.M. BIM-Bada, E.V. Bondarev-skaya, T.I. Vlasova, V.I. Dodonov, A.V. Mudrik, N.D. Nikandrova, L.I. Novikova, E.G. Ossovskogo, V.G. Pryanikov, Z.I. Ravkin, I.N. Sisimskoj, G.N. Filonov and many other researchers), we believe that the moral standards of the relationship to their friends and family, and formed in the process of interaction with them in the framework of family education in the future, having become a habit, the child will carry and the rest of society. Based on the results of research, as the most important component components of the value relationship of preschool children to their loved ones, we have identified a cognitive component, suggesting the presence of children's systemic knowledge of the rules and regulations of interaction; affective component, the component that determines the modality of the child's emotions and determines the nature and direction of his attitude to close adults; behavioral component, which, in our opinion, is a specific integration of the first two, and an indicator of their level of development. Taking into account the selected component components of the value attitude of preschool children to their loved ones, we have developed and tested an experimental diagnostic program, objectively proved the existence of the relationship between the level of value attitude of children to their family members and their spiritual and moral development.
