Group Discussion is an important means to share one’s opinion, ideas and perspectives on the specified topic or an issue. It generally aims at understanding and analyzing the topic in order to get clear solution for an issue. It promotes team work, cooperation and coordination among the participants. It creates an environment where all the participants share their point of view on the specified topic which leads to a healthy and efficient environment among the team members. It also generates diversity of thought, creativity and team spirit among the members. Team building is something which connects everyone to work together effectively with cooperation of team members and also strengthen collaboration, enlarges knowledge sharing and communication. Everyone gets responsibility to share innovative ideas which would emerge more effectively and efficiently from the members. Team members are able to create a friendly atmosphere which permits everyone to speak confidently. It increases one’s motivation, creativity, improved communication and more. This is very constructive at workplace, companies, project discussions, schools, and in any other institutes or departments to conclude a perfect decision or a solution for the problems in their projects. A teamwork environment builds up unity, trust, support and cooperation which facilitate them to attain their goals and objectives

This paper theoretically examines the historical escortion of groups, teams and task in the organization. It discuses historical antecedents of groups, teams and task in the organization. The paper noted the group and team development in the organization has followed sequential order tracing from the Hawthorn experiment of lighting in1930 till date. The need to strategize ways and means to improve productivity, maximize profit and increase workers commitment instigates the constant and continuous review of groups, teams and task in the organization. The paper looked at the concept of groups, group formation, types and benefits of groups in the organization. It also considers the concept of team, team work and team building/development among others, as well as the task groups and teams perform in (their) organization. Thereby affecting their decision making process and the commitment level of the employees. In addition, sustainability of the benefits gained from groups, teams and task depends on the level of support given by the management, the commitment of every group and team members. The paper advices management of organization to understand the behaviour of groups, teams and task performed by its members and modify strategy to influence their behaviour towards aligning with the goals and objectives of the organization.

Good communication is required to build and maintain mutual relationship in project teams. This is because effective communication can enable a work team to achieve their goals. This stems from the fact that when the employees understand the management expectations and target goals, they will be able to do their work task based on the required standard. Also, effective communication is critical to the success of team work because the ability to work together without issues is determined by conveying the right information at the right. However, despite the crucial role played by effective communication in a productive work environment, it was found that Matrix Coating Resource Sdn Bhd (MCR) often experience communication issues among the workforce and this result to workplace conflict and employee relationship issues. It was on this note that this consultancy project critically examined the communications and employee relationships practices of MCR in order to determine key areas required to improve project tasks completion. A sample of 50 respondents were chosen from the workforce using both interview and questionnaire instruments. The study found that the staff of Matrix often experience communication issues and this leads to disagreements and misunderstanding among the workforce. This is because proper communication using appropriate channel can help to ease both the number and severity of workplace conflicts. Driven by this, it was proposed that the management of Matrix should do well to employ people with solid communication skills because this will allow them to work together cohesively and professionally, address the issue through training exercises and behaviour modeling. It should conduct constant training programmes especially for the new staff so as to improve their ability to communicate clearly and concisely with colleagues and work team members, include communication skills in the appraisal of employees’ performance and tie the organization’s objectives into performance appraisal so as to achieve the goals of the company and develop team building exercises to strengthen intra-office relationship. This is because high performance teams often become more cohesive overtime as they gain experiences working and communicating with other teams in the workplace. Therefore, exciting activities such as informal networking groups, team exercises and others so as to enable the staff to work together in a cohesive way. The team building process will allow the team members to learn the best ways to work together through team experience without issues.

The article deals with the work of Russian state authorities during the period when a new coronavirus infection (SARSCoV- 2, previously – 2019-nCoV) threatens to spread and enter the national territory. The algorithm of work and the practical measures taken to combat infection from the point of view of the requirements of the national security Strategy of the Russian Federation, as well as Federal and regional regulatory legal acts in terms of protection are analyzed. The issues of the formation of special temporary governing bodies, the goals and objectives of their activities, as well as the forms of work used: monitoring the situation, rulemaking, interagency cooperation, building up forces and means to combat the pandemic, using the information and technical base, informing the population, supporting certain sectors of the economy and certain categories of citizens are considered. Conclusions are drawn about the organized, complex and interdepartmental nature of the events, the need to improve legislation in terms of establishing legal liability for offenses under the quarantine regime, creating conditions to prevent unjustified price increases for certain types of goods, systematically informing the population and preventing the spread of false rumors, the need to support certain sectors of the economy and certain categories of citizens.

Abstract African genomic medicine and microbiome datasets are usually not well characterized in terms of their origin, making it difficult to find and extract data for specific African ethnic groups or even countries. The Pan-African H3Africa Bioinformatics Network (H3ABioNet) recognized the need for developing data portals for African genomic medicine and African microbiomes to address this and ran a hackathon to initiate their development. The two portals were designed and significant progress was made in their development during the hackathon. All the participants worked in a very synergistic and collaborative atmosphere in order to achieve the hackathon's goals. The participants were divided into content and technical teams and worked over a period of 6 days. In response to one of the survey questions of what the participants liked the most during the hackathon, 55% of the hackathon participants highlighted the familial and friendly atmosphere, the team work and the diversity of team members and their expertise. This paper describes the preparations for the portals hackathon and the interaction between the participants and reflects upon the lessons learned about its impact on successfully developing the two data portals as well as building scientific expertise of younger African researchers. Academic work increasingly involves creating digital tools with interdisciplinary teams distributed across institutions and roles. The negative impacts of distributed work are described at length in technical communication scholarship, but such impacts have not yet been realized in collaborative practices. By integrating attention to their core ethical principles, best practices, and work patterns, the authors are developing an ethical, sustainable approach to team building that they call constructive distributed work. This article describes their integrated approach, documents the best practices that guide their research team, and models the three-dimensional thinking that helps them develop sustainable digital tools and ensure the consistent professional development of all team members.

We present the digital whiteboard system Tele-Board, which automatically captures all interactions made on the all-digital whiteboard and thus offers possibilities for a fast interpretation of usage characteristics. Analyzing team work at whiteboards is a time-consuming and error-prone process if manual interpretation techniques are applied. In a case study, we demonstrate how to conduct and analyze whiteboard experiments with the help of our system. The study investigates the role of video compared to an audio-only connection for distributed work settings. With the simplified analysis of communication data, we can prove that the video teams were more active than the audio teams and the distribution of whiteboard interaction between team members was more balanced. This way, an automatic analysis can not only support manual observations and codings, but also give insights that cannot be achieved with other systems. Beyond the overall view on one sessions focusing on key figures, it is also possible to find out more about the internal structure of a session.

The article discusses the issue of the formation of professionally important qualities (PIQ) in future military aviation navigators in the educational environment of a military university. The goal is to substantiate the activity approach as a practice-oriented basis for the formation of professional qualities in cadets-navigators. A review and analysis of scientific research, publications is carried out, allowing to discover the significance of the activity approach as a methodological direction of research. The methodological basis of the research is the provisions of the activity approach, which are used as the basis for the development and formation of the PIQ among cadets-navigators in the process of a practice-oriented educational process. The description of the results is associated with the characteristics of the content and organization of the professional activity of cadets-navigators in the process of implementation of industrial practice in the form of flight training. Using the activity approach, the main components of the activities of flight instructors, teachers and cadets-navigators are considered, from a unified methodological point of view, and thus the nature of their interaction is revealed. Emphasis have been determined that need to be paid attention to in the course of pedagogical activity on the formation of professional qualities among cadets-navigators. A definition is given and pedagogical technologies are proposed for the formation of professional experience and professional qualities in a future specialist in the context of a practice-oriented pedagogical process. The relationship between the experience gained by the trainee in the practice-oriented pedagogical process and the formation of professionally important personality traits of a specialist is considered. The main goals and objectives for the formation of the necessary professional qualities of cadetsnavigators during flight training have been determined. At the entrance of each stage of flight training, technologies are determined aimed at rational and purposeful impact on the student in order to develop competencies and personal qualities. Recommendations are offered to teachers and instructors to improve the efficiency of development and formation among cadets-navigators of the PIQ.

The Jigsaw II, one form of Cooperative learning techniques is an efficient strategy to use in a language classroom. The basic activities include 1) Reading with team members 2) Expert group discussion 3) Team members report 4) Test 5) Team recognition. The jigsaw II strategy is easyto implement and works well with a wide range of students.Previous researches related to Jigsaw II shows that it is more powerful and effective and appropriate in situations where learning is from text based materials. Reviews related to the strategy shows that no researches have been carried out to develop the reading comprehension of the high school students, particularly in the Indian context. Hence through this paper an attempt has been made by the researcher to check the effectiveness of Jigsaw II in developing the reading comprehension of High school students.The study statistically revealed that there is significant difference in the reading comprehension achievement of the students who were taught by using the traditional method and to those taught by using the Jigsaw II strategy. In accordance with the qualitative and quantitative findings attained it was found that Jigsaw II was found to be more effective than the traditional teaching method in developing the reading comprehension of high school students.

University system in Nigeria has been characterised by persistent social unrest majorly traceable to strained relationships between students and university authorities. Observations, experiences and literature confirmed that student unrest in the universities had become a compulsory devil affecting the speedy actualisation of university goals and objectives. The need to dismantle the social space for relative peace and tranquillity thereof become expedient. The study aims to redefine students-university authority relationships as a tool to deconstruct social unrest in Nigeria universities. Human Relations Theory of Management (HRTM) was used to theorise the study. Transformative paradigm as a stance to emancipate the existing unrest situation was used to lens the study. Participatory Action Research (PAR) was adopted as a research design for the study. The sample size for this study consists of 10 participants, namely, three students' leaders; one past student leaders, three university management members, two lecturers and two security personnel selected using expert sampling techniques. The Focused Group Discussion (FGD) was used to collect data from the participants, and the data collected were analysed using Socio-thematic Analysis. The study revealed that inadequate funding was a significant challenge resulting in student unrest. In contrast, the provision of Students' Personnel Services coupled with modern maintenance culture, transparency and accountability were found to be the dimension of peaceful university operation devoid of social unrest and therefore becomes a tool to deconstruct the strained relationship between students and university authorities.
