Organic fertilizer is the final result of the decomposition of parts or remains of plants and or animals that have undergone engineering, in solid or liquid form. Household waste, one of which is stale rice, is usually thrown away directly into the environment, even though it can still be used, for example, made as liquid organic fertilizer. For this reason, it is necessary to remodel household waste, especially stale rice, into liquid organic fertilizer by utilizing existing local microorganisms. This Community Service aims to provide motivation and knowledge and skills to the community on how to make liquid organic fertilizer from stale rice by utilizing local microorganisms. The location of Community Service was held at RT.28 RW.007 Silaberanti Village, Jakabaring District, Palembang City, on January 30, 2021. The method used was counseling and training to participants on the manufacture of liquid organic fertilizer (POC) from stale rice. The implementation of the activity was attended by 12 participants, who were followed with enthusiasm and discussions and questions and answers during the training. The results of this Community Service show that the service method in the form of counseling, training and question and answer is very appropriate in motivating the community to be able to make liquid organic fertilizer from stale rice.

This Community Service aims to provide motivation and knowledge, and skills to the community about the technique of making liquid organic fertilizer from household waste by utilizing local microorganisms. Community Service held in Sungai Pangeran Village, Ilir Timur I District, Palembang City, on February 19, 2019. The method used was counseling and training participants on the use of local microorganisms as liquid organic fertilizer. Thirty-five participants attended the implementation of the activity. The focus of PKM is the "Sumber Lestari" farmer group in Rasau Jaya Village, which is a transmigration area as the Integrated Integrated Zone. Still, farmers in farmer groups do not have farm record so that the difficulty in managing and making optimal farming decisions. This condition is caused by low performance of farmers' skills and risk of farming competencies. Furthermore, farmer groups are only intuitively emphasizing the cost of agricultural production inputs for the most effective farming decisions because of the absence of farm records. Therefore, PKM is tried to give knowledge and training of farm record and farming risk evaluation to achieve the optimal of farming management. The results are shown that the effectiveness ratio is quite effective so that there is still a gap between knowledge and skills that must be followed by the role of local government through continuous monitoring and guidance on the development of processed products to increase the income of surrounding farmers

Banyusoco village in Gunungkidul has more than 60% of its land as state forests managed by several forest farmer groups in Hutan Kemasyarakatan scheme (HKm) majority planted Teak (Tectona grandis). Problem of "delayed" revenue through harvesting slow-growing Teak stands could be resolved by planting a type of tubers or empon-empon under the stand, so that forest floor may earn additional income. Our community service focuses on introduction of Porang tuber plants (Amorphophallus oncocphyllus) to a) increase environmental knowledge and skills of farmers in agroforestry-Porang cultivation; b) increase knowledge and skills of farmers in harvesting and managing post-harvest of Porang; c) increase farmers' income from Porang. Our first of three year activities program included institutional workshops and introduction of Porang cultivation, procurement of Porang seeds, development of demonstration plot, and facilitation on planting Porang under stands. Temporary result was a 0.5 ha-demonstration plot with 4,000 seeds supporting by HKm "Sedyo Makmur" which positively impacts in a) fostering cohesiveness of members with mutual cooperation every Thursday (Kamisan) in preparing and maintaining land; b) increasing members' understanding in cultivation Porang; c) becoming a portfolio in national HKm competition. Following year's community empowerment program continues to be focused on maintaining, harvesting and marketing Porang.
