Organic fertilizer is the final result of the decomposition of parts or remains of plants and or animals that have undergone engineering, in solid or liquid form. Household waste, one of which is stale rice, is usually thrown away directly into the environment, even though it can still be used, for example, made as liquid organic fertilizer. For this reason, it is necessary to remodel household waste, especially stale rice, into liquid organic fertilizer by utilizing existing local microorganisms. This Community Service aims to provide motivation and knowledge and skills to the community on how to make liquid organic fertilizer from stale rice by utilizing local microorganisms. The location of Community Service was held at RT.28 RW.007 Silaberanti Village, Jakabaring District, Palembang City, on January 30, 2021. The farmers in Pangkalan Gelebak Village have the problem of their low agricultural productivity.  The high price of chemical fertilizers causes the ability of the population to purchase fertilizers to be deficient.  As a result, agricultural production is still far from optimal.  In addition, rice straw left alone in rice fields can become a nesting place for pests such as rats, leafhoppers, and others.  Therefore, it is necessary to transfer information on appropriate science and technology, which is environmentally friendly, to overcome the problems of farmers in Pangkalan Gelebak.  One way to overcome this is to provide counseling about the importance of processing rice straw into biofertilizers to increase production, train, guide, and practice techniques for making biofertilizers made from rice straw to increase agricultural production, especially rice, and practicing application techniques for biofertilizer made from rice straw.  Rice straw is the raw material for rice plants for farmers in Pangkalan Gelebak Village.  The method used is to make demonstration plots of rice plants organically, counseling about the importance of processing rice straw into biofertilizers to increase production, carried out from February to June 2018.  The results of using 400 kg/ha + 50 % chemical fertilizers can increase rice production from 3,5 tons/ha to 5,6 tons/ha (60,00% increase) when compared to using chemical fertilizers.

The negative impact of using synthetic pesticides is harmful to health and damaging the environment. Pesticide residues can endanger health and reduce the competitiveness of agricultural products. The use of pesticides includes synthetic nematicides being suppressed or even avoided. One alternative to nematode control that is safe for health and environmentally friendly is bionematicide in organic chicken manure enriched with Trichoderma sp. Production of bio nematicides is an option to be applied by the farmer. This method of making bio nematicides uses simple technology, is practical, inexpensive, and easy to do at the farm level. In addition, the manufacture of this bionematicide will increase the benefits of chicken manure waste. This Community Service Activity that carried out in Pangkalan Gelebak Village, Rambutan District, Banyuasin Regency, on May 6, 2020. The result of this activity is that the farmers are very enthusiastic and motivated to make bionematicide. The bio nematicide produced is expected to control root-knot nematodes on cultivated plants to increase crop production and reduce dangerous synthetic pesticides. Bio nematicide uses are free from toxic pesticides, safe for health, more environmentally friendly, and will ultimately improve the welfare of farmers
