Learning is more than knowledge acquisition; it often involves the active participation of the learner in a variety of knowledge- and skills-based learning and training activities. Interactive multimedia technology can support the variety of interaction channels and languages required to facilitate interactive learning and teaching. A conceptual architecture for interactive educational multimedia can support the development of such multimedia systems. Such an architecture needs to embed multimedia technology into a coherent educational context. A framework based on an integrated interaction model is needed to capture learning and training activities in an online setting from an educational perspective, to describe them in the human-computer context, and to integrate them with mechanisms and principles of multimedia interaction.

Observing these problems, it is necessary to conduct education and training on various finishing methods on handicraft products. This community service activity aims to provide knowledge and hone the skills of artisans about the process of finishing teak wood products. This service activity uses the lecture and discussion method followed by product finishing practices focused on melamine application. After this service activity is completed, it is hoped that the trainees will know one suitable finishing method and apply it. There are four stages carried out in this service activity, namely: preparation activities which include discussing the needs of artisans; manufacturing activities, namely preparing product modules to be finished, product finishing training activities related to melamine applications, and management training activities that provide insight to artisans about procedures for recording and managing finances. From the results of the evaluation of the service activities that have been carried out, it can be seen that the trainees' knowledge of the finishing process of processed teak wood products is increasing, and they have been able to apply the type of melamine finishing to processed products correctly and adequately. There is a growing interest in the pedagogical possibilities afforded by interactive multimedia technology, and this interest spans such dimensions as content area and the student's developmental level and abilities. At the same time, teachers and researchers are concerned about how to best use this promising technology. The Center for Special Education Technology responded to this situation by conducting a Delphi study to identify research questions that should guide the study of interactive multimedia in special education. The Delphi study was comprised of two questionnaires. In the first questionnaire, respondents were asked to identify the five most important research needs in interactive multimedia. These responses were compiled and then returned to respondents in a second questionnaire. In the second questionnaire, respondents performed two tasks. In the first task, they were asked to judge the importance of each response obtained from the first questionnaire. In the second task, they selected and justified responses that described the five most important multimedia research needs. Descriptive analyses showed that respondents were most frequently concerned about design issues affecting the efficacy of educational interactive multimedia. These issues focused on instructional strategies and methods, the multimedia environment, navigational tools, and strategies for promoting transfer of skill. Two other themes emerged from this study. First, experts were interested in how the characteristics of persons with different disabilities affected the efficacy of educational interactive multimedia. Second, they were concerned about the technical and training resources that are needed to use multimedia in practice.

Rice husk waste has been thrown away and burned without any use, it has the potential to cause environmental pollution. This rice husk can actually be used, for manufacture of briquettes, but the lack of knowledge and skills of the people about processing rice husk waste into briquettes. The process of making briquettes does not require high technology and low cost. The training in manufacturing of charcoal briquettes is very useful which aims to make people in the area able to utilize rice husk waste to become a product of sustainable technology, namely charcoal briquettes which can be used as an alternative fuel instead of BBM, and also minimize the occurrence of environmental pollution. These activities include (1) socializing the using of rice husk into charcoal briquettes; (2) training to manufacture of chimneys to burn rice husk; (3) processing of rice husk into charcoal; (4) manufacturing charcoal briquettes; (5) applying the use of briquettes as fuel. These socialization and training activities have been successfully carried out in accordance with the planned activities that have been prepared, and received good reception from the local villagers seen from their presence and involvement in activities, and succeeded in providing special skills for local residents, especially farmers who were directly involved in making briquettes.
