Basic Life Support (BLS) is an attempt to sustain life when a person experiences a life-threatening situation. BLS should be given to survivors with cardiopulmonary arrest. Ignorance of help and incompetent BLS management of a helper often occur in real cases in the field. This study aimed to determine the effect of health education on basic life support to the level of public knowledge. This research design used Pre- Experimental Design, with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design method. The population of this research is the community of Dlanggu District, Mojokerto Regency. The sample was taken as many as 59 respondents. The sampling method used is Probability type Simple Random Sampling. The data were collected using a questionnaire. The data was analyzed by using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with a significance level <0.05. The results showed a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.05), thus it can be concluded that there were significant differences before and after the provision of health education about BLS procedures.

ABSTRAK Kolostrum atau susu jolong yang keluar pertama kali sering dibuang karena masih dianggap kotoran ASI, sehingga masih banyak ibu  yang memberikan susu formula bagi bayinya  padahal kolosotrum banyak mengandung gizi dan zat kekebalan bagi tubuh (Bahiyatun, 2009). Masalah  penelitian ini adalah masih tingginya ibu yang tidak mengerti tentang kolostrum. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui pengaruh Health Education  (HE) tentang pemberian kolostrum pada 1 jam pertama terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan ibu hamil.Desain penelitian ini adalah Pra Eksperiment dengan pendekatan One Grup Pratest-Postest Design. Sampelnya sebanyak 27 orang dengan teknik simple random sampling. Variabel independent pemberian Health Education tentang kolostrum dan variabel dependent pengetahuan ibu hamil. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah SAP, leaflet dan lembar kuesioner. Analisa data menggunakan Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test dengan taraf signifikan 0,05.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebelum diberikan HE hampir seluruh (81,5%) ibu hamil memiliki pengetahuan kurang tentang pemberian kolostrum pada 1 jam pertama, dan setelah diberikan HE lebih dari sebagian (59,3%) berpengetahuan cukup. Hasil Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test didapatkan p= 0,001 dimana p0,05. Maka H1 diterima artinya ada pengaruh HE tentang pemberian kolostrum pada 1 jam pertama terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan ibu hamil.Melihat dari hasil penelitian, maka HE sangat penting diberikan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu hamil dalam pemberian kolostrum pada bayi terutama pada 1 jam pertama, sehingga bayi terjamin untuk mendapatkan ASI eksklusif serta mengurangi angka kesakitan maupun kematian pada bayi.                                        Kata kunci : Health Education, Pengetahuan, Kolostrum   ABSTRACT Colostrum or weaned that out the first time are often discarded because they are considered dirt breast milk, so there are many mothers to give formula to their babies even though colosotrum contain many nutrients and substances for the body's immune (Bahiyatun, 2009). The problem of this study is still high mother who does not understand about colostrum. The research objective was to determine the effect of Health Education (HE) on the provision of colostrum in the first hours of the first to the increased knowledge of pregnant women.The research design was Pre Experiment with One Group  approach Pratest-Posttest Design. The sample as many as 27 people with simple random sampling technique. The independent variable is giving Health Education about colostrum and the dependent variable is knowledge of pregnant women. The instruments used  were SAP, leaflet and questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test with significance level of 0.05.Results showed before being given HE almost all (81.5%) of pregnant women have less knowledge about the provision of colostrum in the first hours of the first, and after being given HE more than most (59.3%) are knowledgeable enough. Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test results obtained p = 0.001 where p 0.05. Then there is H1 accepted meaning HE influence on the provision of colostrum in the first hours of the first to the increased knowledge of pregnant women.Judging from the results of the study, then HE is essential given to improve the knowledge of pregnant women in giving colostrum to the baby, especially in the first 1 hour, so that the baby is guaranteed to get exclusive breastfeeding and reducing morbidity and mortality in infants. Keywords: Health Education, Knowledge, Colostrum

Introduction: About 300.000 – 350.000 Indonesian people suffer from cardiac arrest each year. Basic Life Support (BLS) is the first immediate response needed by cardiac arrest people, especially the out of hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) patient. BLS that given from public to OHCA could increase the survival rate up to 2 – 3x higher. Unfortunately, the Indonesian still did not know what is cardiac arrest, how to recognize it, and how to do BLS. Objective: The objective of this study was to identify the effect of BLS training in the knowledge and skill level of community in Sidodadi Village, Lawang, Indonesia. Method and Material: This experiment used a quasi-experimental design with 102 of the random sampling of people age 20-40 in Sidodadi Village, Lawang, Indonesia. The sample was given pre-test and post-test knowledge questioner before and after joining BLS training. The sample’s skill was scored by an assistant doctor using a skill checklist. The data then analysed with a t-paired sample test, Wilcoxon sum rank test, and Pearson correlation. Result and Discussion: The score of women is higher than men both in pre-test and post-test, with the significance of p=0,039 for pre-test and p=0,001. 99% who joined BLS training have a significant increase in knowledge with p=0,001. Conclusion: The increase in knowledge and skill is correlated for an excellent and good level of the score, but not correlated in a bad level. About 99% of people who have joined BLS training have a significant increase in knowledge and skill. These trained people have the willingness to be a bystander for cardiac arrest people near them.

Breastfeeding is a natural process in which pregnant mothers will be breastfeeding to help their babies stay healthy. However, several factors can interfere with appropriate breastfeeding, such as family income, mothers’ knowledge about breastfeeding and supportive environment. This study aimed to identify the effect of health education on maternal behavior in breastfeeding techniques. The design of this study was one-group pre-post design. 122 postpartum mothers were chosen as samples in this study by simple random sampling technique. Data was collected using observation sheets, and then analyzed by using Wilcoxon signed rank test with a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed that there was a significant effect of health education on maternal behavior in breastfeeding techniques with a result of p value of 0.000. It is hoped that all postpartum mothers can follow breastfeeding techniques with a proper positioning, ensure proper latching on to the nipples, so breastfeeding can be a comfortable and pain-free experience both for mothers and the babies.

Background: Scabies is often called body lice caused by mites Sarcoptes scabei. Scabies is often overlooked because it is not life-threatening so the priority for treatment is low, but chronic and severe scabies can cause dangerous complications (Harahap, 2008). This typical boarding disease is very closely related to the culture and values that exist in the Islamic boarding school environment. The students who suffer from scabies have complaints that they often itch at night so they can disturb their rest or sleep at night.Objectives: This study aimed to the effect of the skin personal hygiene modules as health education media against knowledge in prevention of skabies in the Islamic boarding school Roudhotul Muta’alimin Muta’alimat, Jabon Sub-District, Sidoarjo District, East Java Province, Indonesia.Method: The study design was used pre-experiment (one group pretest posttest). The population is all of students who lives in the Islamic boarding school Roudhotul Muta’alimin Muta’alimat, Jabon Sub-District, Sidoarjo District, East Java Province, Indonesia, amounting to 72 students. The sample of this study was 60 students using simple random sampling. The research instruments were skin personal hygiene modules and questionnaires. Data was analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test.Results: The results showed that the level of knowledge before and after being given health education using the skin personal hygiene module was an increase, based on the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test analysis showed a difference with a significant value p = 0,000 and significance level α<0.05.Conclusion: Health education using the skin personal hygiene module had a positive impact on increasing the knowledge of the students at the Islamic boarding school Roudhotul Muta'alimin Muta’alimat Jabon Sidoarjo. Health education through counseling can be used to maintain and improve the health of the students in preventing scabies. Keywords: The skin personal hygiene module, knowledge, health education, Scabies.

Objective: Performing basic life support (BLS) in patients with cardiopulmonary arrest decreases mortality and morbidity. In addition, BLS knowledge is a prerequisite for medical graduation. The present study was conducted to determine the awareness level of undergraduate medical students in Jordan regarding BLS and background knowledge. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted between 17 April 2021 and 12 May 2021. A validated questionnaire was used as an online Google form and was posted in all medical student groups and Jordanian universities through various social medias. We categorized level of awareness into two groups: adequate awareness for those who got 60% or more, and inadequate awareness for those who got less than 60% in BLS test. Chi-square test was used to compare different variables. Results: A total of 886 students with a mean age of 21.5 (± 2.2) years completed the survey, including 552 females (62.3%). Among participated students, only 281 (31.7%) had adequate awareness, whereas 605 (68.3%) had inadequate awareness, with a mean score of 10 (± 3.8) out of 20. Surprisingly, there was no statistically significant correlation (P=0.210) between grade point average (GPA) and awareness level among participated students. On the contrary, we detected statistically significant relationships (P<0.001) between various variables and awareness level. Conclusion: Overall, we found that awareness of BLS among medical students in Jordan is not adequate. We can improve the awareness of medical students in this regard through obligating them to educate the general population, especially school students, as a volunteer campaign.

Background: Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest is an important cause that leads to hospital admission and death. Improving lay people’s knowledge and skills in basic life support (BLS) may lead to reduced death associated with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. “BLS NU KKU” is a BLS training program developed from up-to-date literature as a smartphone application used to train lay people in the community. Objective: To evaluate BLS-related knowledge and skills of participants before and after BLS training. Materials and Methods: A one group pretest-posttest design was used to implement the present study in Khon Kaen, Thailand. Participants were 350 individuals age 18 and older. An 8-hour BLS training session was offered to 10 groups of 35 participants over the period of 10 months between November 2018 and August 2019. Self-administered questionnaires were used to assess BLS knowledge and Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills. Results: The mean score for BLS-related knowledge significantly increased after the BLS training (mean = 15.05, SD = 2.51) compared to the scores before the training (mean = 10.47, SD = 3.43) (p<0.05). BLS skills improved from 0% to 100% (p<0.001) will all skills rated with mostly “excellent” and “good”. Satisfaction with the training program was also rated mostly with “excellent” and “good”. Conclusion: The BLS training program effectively improved participants’ knowledge and skills for basic life support. This program should be disseminated to train lay people in other settings. Background.Tumor tissue in classical Hodgkin Lymphoma (cHL) contains 1-10% malignant Hodgkin/Reed-Sternberg cells and a significant number of immune cells in the tumor microenvironment that are characterized by expression of inhibitory molecules (PD-1, CTLA-4, LAG-3, TIM-3, TIGIT). Despite overall effectiveness of anti-PD-1 treatment many patients still have relapsed or refractory (r/r) disease, therefore the search for predictive/prognostic biomarkers in patients on immunotherapy is highly demanded. Materials and methods.The study included 39 primary tumor specimens from patients with r/r cHL obtained before starting the treatment with nivolumab (primary biopsies). Specimens from 11 patients were studied before and after treatment (sequential biopsies). Treatment response was evaluated by PET-CT according to LYRIC criteria. Immunohistochemical staining for CD68, CD163, PD-1, LAG-3, TIM-3, CTLA-4, TIGIT was performed with an automated staining system (Bond III; Leica Biosystems). The slides were scanned with Aperio ScanScope XT (AperioTechnologies Inc.) and were analyzed with ImageScope Analysis software (Aperio Technologies) и Qupath (https://qupath.github.io). We explored progression-free survival (PFS) depending on the proportion of cells positive for CD68, CD163, PD-1, LAG-3, TIM-3, CTLA-4, TIGIT in the tumor microenvironment and analyzed the changes of these parameters between primary and sequential biopsies after treatment with nivolumab. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS software (v.23). Data on sequential biopsies were analyzed with the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. PFS was calculated with the Kaplan-Meier method. The significance level was p ≤ 0.05. Results.A significant correlation was found in primary biopsies group between the value of CD163 and CTLA-4 (correlation coefficient -0,62, p &lt; 0.05). There was no significant association between PFS and proportion of cells positive for CD68, PD-1, TIM-3, CTLA-4, TIGIT, LAG-3 in primary biopsies group. ROC analysis allowed to establish a 9% cut-off value of CD163 expression, dividing these patients into subgroups of CD163high and CD163low. In the CD163low group, the two-year PFS was 19,1% (95% CI 6%-37,7%) with a median PFS of 8,8 months (95% CI 5,7-12) and in the CD163high group - 53,8% (95% CI 28,4%-73,7%) with a median of 24,8 months (95% CI 18,8 - 39,2). In sequential biopsies, a statistically significant increase in numbers of PD-1+ and TIGIT+ T-cells and depletion of CD68+ and CD163+ cells was observed compared to corresponding cell counts in primary biopsies (median PD-1 - 3% vs 10%; median TIGIT - 10% vs 14%; median CD68 - 10% vs 7%; median CD163- 8% vs 3,5%; р &lt;0,05). Conclusion.A comprehensive analysis of expression of CD68, CD163, LAG-3, TIGIT, CTLA4, TIM-3, PD-1 was performed in patients with r/r cHL before and after treatment with nivolumab. Significant association was found between the expression of CD163 and CTLA4. The results of the study indicate inferior PFS among patients with low expression (&lt;9%) of CD163 in lymph node samples before immunotherapy. Biopsies taken after treatment with nivolumab showed a statistically significant increase in the number of PD-1+ and TIGIT+ cells and a decrease in the number of CD68+ and CD163+ cells compared with data from primary biopsies. The results of the study may contribute to our knowledge regarding biology of classical Hodgkin lymphoma and the mechanisms of resistance to therapy with immune checkpoints inhibitors. Abstract Water is a good medium for bacterial growth, so that contamination is happening especially if less attention in terms of hygiene and sanitation. The use of bed water sources can increase the risk of diarrhea. Diarrhea is one of the environmentally based disease is a major cause of morbidity and mortality. Kampung Baru village located around Jagir Kali Surabaya Most people are in the middle to low socioeconomic level.  The lifestyle of them, also pays less attention to environmental hygiene and sanitation, so that it can cause water pollution which can increase the risk of diarrhea. This study was an observational analytic cross sectional study. Entire study population villagers of Kampung Baru. A sample of 75 respondents drawn with simple random sampling technique. The data used is primary data obtained through the distribution of questionnaires, interviews, and observations. Data analysis using the Spearman rank test with a significance level (α = 0.1). The results showed that 53,3% affected diarrhea and 46,7% didn’t affected (P =0.087, r=0.463). The results showed a medium correlation between the source of water with the incidence of diarrhea in Kampung Baru Resident At Ngagelrejo Wonokromo Surabaya. Keyword : Diarrhae, Water Sanitation

Basic life support (basic life support) is an action when a patient is found to be suddenly immobile, unconscious, or not breathing, so check the patient's response. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the lecture method and health coaching about BLS (Basic Life Support) in mosque youth. The research design is quasy-experiment. The population of this study was all male mosques in the year totaling 80 people. The sample in this study was simple random sampling. The research instrument used is the Heart-saver® observation sheet. The results showed differences in the results of Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney analysis in the treatment and control groups. For the control group, the lecture produced Wilcoxon (p = 0.26) and Mann-Whitney significance (p = 0.32). Whereas in the treatment group that received Health coaching produced Wilcoxon significance (p = 0.001) and Mann-Whitney (p = 0,000). Conclusion: Health coaching is more effective than the lecture method. Suggestion: the next researcher will combine health coaching with other methods to be able to provide more effective knowledge and skills.

Abstract Background Educating lay public can significantly strengthen the Chain of Survival after out of hospital cardiac arrest. Schoolchildren are an accessible population for learning basic life support (BLS) and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) and can be regarded as multipliers of knowledge that can reach the whole population. This study aimed to develop and validate a test for examining levels of knowledge about BLS and AED among schoolchildren that can be used to uniformly present reliable data. Methods A knowledge test about BLS and AED consisting of 10 multiple-choice questions was developed and implemented before and after a 2-h BLS and AED course consisting of an interactive lecture and a practical workshop for 783 students in seventh and ninth grades of elementary schools in Maribor, Slovenia. Each question was analyzed and presented with descriptive statistics and educometric parameters (difficulty and discriminating indices). All variables were checked for normality with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and analyzed using non-parametric tests. Statistical significance of the differences in knowledge before and after intervention were calculated with chi-square statistics and effect sizes r are reported. Differences between genders, grades and previous attendance to BLS courses were compared using Mann – Whitney U test. The effect size was calculated from the Z score and reported as r value. Results After educometric analysis, questions were adjusted to meet the requirements of satisfactory functioning difficulty and discriminating indices (values between 0,40 and 0,60, and above 0,20, respectively). Only one question had to be eliminated due to inadequate difficulty and discriminating index (0,99 and 0,02, respectively). Measurement invariance across gender (p < 0,001), school grade (p < 0,001), and attendance to previous courses (p = 0,303) was assured. Conclusions A test for accurate and reliable measurement of knowledge of BLS and AED among schoolchildren was developed and validated. According to the findings it can now reliably be used to assess baseline knowledge and potential improvement in knowledge after a course on BLS and AED. Standardized data gathered with a validated tool can now be presented at legislative levels to promote BLS and AED courses implementation in school curricula.
