Data was evaluated on the basis of 208 completed questionnaires.Main findings: Findings of the study indicate that there is a relationship between job involvement and in-role performance. Affective and normative commitment can act as mediator. However, continuance commitment is not a mediator in this relationship.Practical/managerial implications: It is important for organisations that want to gain a competitive edge over its rivals to enhance the level of involvement of its employees.Contribution/value-add: The results of this study will provide a new dimension for managers on how to gain a competitive advantage over rival firms with regard to performance by increasing the level of job involvement.

The purpose of the study is to investigate the role of continuance commitment in the relationship between affective commitment and organizational citizenship behaviour (OCB) among the employees of telecommunication industry players in Mogadishu, Somalia. A total of 92 lower managers (supervisors) from three different telecommunication players were involved in this study. The instrument used in the study for affective and continuance commitment was adopted from Natalie J. Allen and John P. Meyer (1990), and for OCB was adopted from Philip M. Podsakoff , Scott B. MacKenzie, Robert H. Moorman, and Richard Fetter (1990). This  quantitative survey method employed stratified random sampling technique. Employees’ attitudes and behaviours were tested for correlation and regression analysis. The findings indicated that there are positive and significant relationship between employees’ affective commitment, continuance commitment and OCB. The highest correlations towards employees’ citizenship behaviour is the mediation role of continuance commitment (r=.362, p< .05), then affective commitment (r=.287, p< .05), followed by the relationship between affective commitment and continuance commitment (r=.249, p< .05), whilst continuance commitment shows the weakest relationship on OCB (r=.144, p< .05). The regression model indicates a predictive significance by employees’ behaviours; thus, the findings support the conclusion that the selected behaviours are predictors of telecommunication industries employees’ OCB. This study revealed the importances of organizational citizenship behaviour (OCB), affective commitment and continuance commitment among the telecommunication industries employees’in Mogadishu, Somalia. These findings also have implications for telecommunication industries and managers to reflect and extend employees’ organizational citizenship behavior (OCB).

Gekbrong Village is the only village in West Java designated as a pilot village in adaptation and mitigation of climate change programme called ‘Program kampung Iklim’ by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in 2013. Adaptation and mitigation to climate change are not gender-neutral as women and men have the capacity, role, and contribution in adaptation and mitigation to climate change differently. The overall objective of the study was to analyze the role of gender in agricultural households and to analyze the relationship between gender roles in agricultural households with gender equality in adaptation and mitigation of climate change in agricultural households. This research uses quantitative data by survey method by using simple random sampling technique analyzed by cross-tabulation and Rank Spearman supported by qualitative data with an in-depth interview. The study examined the interactive relationship between job involvement, job satisfaction, organisational commitment citizenship behaviour (OCB) and organisational commitment among employees of Nigerian universities. The sample for the study consisted of two hundred and ten academic members of staff (210) from five (5) Federal Government owned universities in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria. The study utilized both quantitative data (questionnaire) and qualitative data (interview). The Multiple Regression Model using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 18 were utilized for the analysis of data. The findings revealed that job involvement had a strong positive and significant relationship with organisational commitment and OCB. Although the relationship between job involvement and employees job satisfaction was also positive, it was however weak. Similarly, job satisfaction was revealed to have a positive and significant relationship with organisational commitment and OCB. Finally, organisational commitment was revealed to have a positive and significant relationship with OCB. Based on the findings above, it was concluded that as an employee develops a favourable attitude toward one aspect of the job based on unique experiences (e.g job involvement), such an employee is also likely to react favourably to other related aspects of the job (e.g job satisfaction, organisational commitment, OCB and organisational commitment). Thus, employees who are involved in their job, for example, are likely to be satisfied with the job, become committed to their organization and by extension exhibit OCBs. Similarly, employees who are dissatisfied with their job may become less involved in the work, less committed to their employer and organisation and lack OCBs. Other managerial implications of these findings were also discussed.
