The study investigated the effect of creative map on senior secondary biology students’ mental ability. Three research questions were raised and answered. The research design was a quasi-experimental pretest, posttest control group design. Two randomly selected schools involving a total of 71 biology students participated in the study. Biology Achievement Test (BAT) and Attitude towards Biology Questionnaire (ABQ) served data collection process. The sample were grouped into three ability levels (High, Medium and Low) using BAT before and after treatment administration. The experimental group was taught using creative map package while the control group was exposed to lecture method. Data collected was analyzed using frequency count, mean and Analysis of Variance. The result (F(1,61) =38.44; p<0.05, partial η2 = 0.39) revealed a positive influence of creative map on students’ mental ability with an upward movement from low and medium ability to high ability group. The study recommends the usage of creative map which offers to student the avenue to self-manage and actively participate in learning while enjoying equal platform to proceed with learning. AbstrakKabupaten Sanggau merupakan salah satu kabupaten yang memiliki jumlah penderita filariasis yang menunjukan peningkatan dari 1 kasus (Mf Rate <1%) pada tahun 2009 kemudian meningkat menjadi 15 kasus (Mf Rate 3,16 % ) pada tahun 2010 yang diperoleh dari hasil survey darah jari yang dilakukan pertengahan tahun 2010 di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Teraju kecamatan Toba. Peningkatan kasus yang cukup signifikan terjadi pada tahun 2012 di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Tayan yaitu sebesar 33 kasus (Mf Rate 6,32% ) dari hasil survey darah jari yang dilakukan pada awal tahun 2012, dimana pada 2 tahun sebelumnya, yaitu tahun 2010 dan 2011 tidak ditemukan kasus filariasis (0%) pada daerah tersebut Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh penyuluhan kesehatan dengan metode ceramah terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan dan sikap dalam pencegahan filariasis. Desain penelitian yang dipergunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Quasi Eksperiment. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 33 orang pada kelompok yang mendapatkan perlakuan dan 33 orang pada kelompok yang tidak mendapatkan perlakukan sebagai kontrolnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Ada perbedaan pengetahuan responden sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan penyuluhan kesehatan tentang pencegahan filariasis Di Dusun Cempedek Desa Lalang kecamatan Tayan Hilir kabupaten Sanggau dengan  p value = 0,000, Ada perbedaan sikap mendukung responden sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan penyuluhan kesehatan tentang pencegahan filariasis Di Dusun Cempedek Desa Lalang kecamatan Tayan Kabupaten Sanggau dengan p value= 0,000. Bagi Puskesmas Tayan Hilir agar mempertimbangkan kegiatan penyuluhan ini sebagai suatu kegiatan rutin yang dilaksanakan, dan kegiatan yang dilaksanakan disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan masyarakat. Selain itu kegiatan penyuluhan dengan metode ceramah yang dibantu dengan power point masih efektif untuk digunakan sepanjang materi yang disampaikan dapat disusun semenarik mungkin sehingga dapat menarik perhatian masyarakat untuk memperhatikannya. Kata Kunci: Penyuluhan Kesehatan, Metode Ceramah, Pengetahuan, Sikap, Filariasis AbstractKabupaten Sanggau is one regency which has improvement of filariasis patient from one case (Mf Rate < 1%) in 2009 to significantly 15 cases (Mf Rate 3,16%) in 2010. The data taken from the result of the finger blood survey which was conducted in 2010 medieval at the work area of Puskesmas Teraju Kecamatan Toba. A significant case was found out in 2012 at the work area of Puskesmas Tayan with 33 cases (Mf Rate 6,32%). It was based on  the result of the finger blood survey carried out at the beginning of 2012 in which two years earlier as in 2010 and 2011 evidenced that there was no filariasis case (0%) in the area. The purpose of this research was to find out the effect of health counseling with lecture method to the improvement of knowledge and attitude on filariasis prevention. This research was conducted by employing Quasi Experimental Design. The samples of the research were 33 people in experimental group and it is equivalent to 33 people in control group design. Data analysis showed that there was difference of respondents’ knowledge before and after health counseling on filariasis preventation at Dusun Cempedek Desa Lalang Kecamatan Tayan Hilir Kabupaten Sanggau with its p value =  0,000.  It was also found that there was difference of supportive attitude from the respondents before and after health counseling on filariasis preventation in the same area with p value = 0,000. Based on the findings of the research, it is advisable for Puskesmas Tayan Hilir to have more concern upon this health counseling as a regular activity. It is important as it can accommodate the needs of the society. Besides, health counseling activity through lecture method, particularly with power point, is still considered to be effective as it can be applied to raise the interest of the society on the importance of the filariasis prevention.Keywords: Health Counseling, Lecture Method, Knowledge, Attitude, Filariasis

The purpose of this study was to see the comparison between the administration of Massage Counterpressure and the provision of dark chocolate to reduce menstrual pain (dysmenorrhoea). The design uses a quasi-experimental design with two groups of pretest and posttest with control group design. The results showed that in the dark chocolate and anti-pain medication group, massage counterressure and anti-pain medicine obtained ρ value of 0,000. there are significant differences before and after the administration of action. The results of the man whitney test found that there were differences between the 2 groups with a value of ρ value of 0,000. Conclusion, there is a difference of influence between the dark chocolate group and the counterpressure massage group on the intensity of menstrual pain. Giving 100 grams of dark chocolate for 2 days and anti-pain medication is more effective than a 20-minute counterpressure massage for 2 days and anti-pain medication for menstrual pain intensity.   Keywords: Dark Chocolate, Massage counterprssure, Menstrual pain

A positive attitude correlates to successful learning; while a negative attitude leads to poor learning. The present study aimed to compare the pre-service biology teachers’ attitudes towards learning biology and assessing their attitudinal change before and after being taught by resource-based instructions (RBI) in Rwanda. A survey-research design was used, in combination with a quasi-experimental control group, and the equivalent time-series designs. Pre-service biology teachers were taught at a public university in three separate groups, with one control group and two experimental groups. Each group received a pre-attitude and a post-attitude assessment. In contrast, at a private university, they were taught as a single group, in a series of instructions, starting with the lecture method, followed by animation-based instruction and small- group laboratory activities, in which at each stage, the pre-service biology teachers received the same assessment. The biology Attitudinal Scale showed a Cronbach alpha reliability of 0.625 before its use. The data were analyzed quantitatively; and the results revealed no statistically significant difference between the public and the private pre-service teachers’ attitudes before learning microbiology. After the teaching interventions, the results revealed that both the traditional and the resource-based instructions improved the pre-service biology teachers’ attitudes towards learning biology, as a result of their improved maturity and their anticipated future teaching career.

The objective of this research exercise is to examine how reciprocal teaching affects 7th-grade students reading motivation in the subject of English. To meet the desired objective, the study employed a quasi-experimental design. The intact classes were randomly allocated to the experimental and control group. The experimental group was instructed with reciprocal teaching strategies, while the control group was taught with the traditional method. The Motivations for Reading Questionnaire (MRQ) was administered before and after the intervention. The study employed Pretest-Posttest Nonequivalent Control Group Design for data collection. The data was analyzed using the independent sample and paired sample t-test. The results of the study revealed that the motivation level of students who were taught with reciprocal teaching is significantly higher than those students who were taught with the traditional method. These results suggest that reciprocal teaching should be incorporated in teacher education programs as appropriate instructional practice for reading.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan keefektifan metode role playing dibandingkan dengan metode ceramah dalam peningkatan: (a) keaktifan siswa dan (b) kerja sama siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 1 Marioriawa.  Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi experimental dengan pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Marioriawa, Kabupaten Soppeng, Sulawesi Selatan. Sampel penelitian ini adalah dua kelas dari lima kelas, dipilih satu kelas kontrol menggunakan metode ceramah dan kelas eksperimen menggunakan metode role playing ditentukan dengan teknik simple random sampling dengan memilih secara acak. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah angket dengan skala Likert dan panduan observasi. Validitas instrumen yang digunakan adalah validitas isi dan validitas empiris. Pengujian realibilitas dengan menggunakan Cronbach’s Alpha. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis uji-t. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut. (1) Metode role playing lebih efektif terhadap peningkatan keaktifan siswa dibandingkan dengan metode ceramah. (2) Metode role playing lebih efektif terhadap peningkatan kerja sama siswa dibandingkan dengan metode ceramah. Role atau peran yaitu siswa dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, kelompok pertama sebagai pemain peran dan kelompok kedua sebagai pengamat. Playing atau bermain yaitu siswa memainkan peran dalam topik musyawarah dan gotong royong dalam menciptakan keamanan desa. Dengan metode role playing, siswa dapat aktif dan bekerja sama pada saat memainkan peran atau karakter.Kata kunci: metode role playing, keaktifan, kerja sama THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ROLE PLAYING METHOD IN INCREASING THE ACTIVENESS AND COOPERATION IN SOCIAL STUDIESAbstractThis study aims to reveal the effectiveness of the role playing method compared with the lecture method in creasing: (a) the activeness and b) the cooperation in social studies of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Marioriawa. This study was quasi-experimental with the pretest-posttest control group design. The population was all students of class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Marioriawa, Soppeng, South Sulawesi. The research sample was two out of five classes, one control class taught using the lecture method and one experimental class taught using the role playing method. The instrument used to collect data was a questionnaire with Likert scale and an observation. The validity of the instruments used content validity and empirical validity . Testing reliability by using Cronbach 's Alpha. The data analysis technique used was the t-test analysis technique.The results are as follows. (1) The role playing method is more effective in improving student activeness compared with the lecture method, (2) The role playing method is effective in improving cooperation compared with the lecture method. The role that the students were divided into two groups, the first group as a role player and the second group as observers. Playing that students play a role in the topic of discussion and mutual assistance in creating a security village. With this method of role playing, students can be active and work at the time played a role or character.Keywords: role playing method, activeness, cooperation

Introduction: Hypercholesterolemia is a condition characterized by high levels of total cholesterol in the blood. Many studies have proven that steeping tea rosella and flesh of an avocado can reduce total cholesterol levels. This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of therapy companion rosella tea and  avocado in lowering total cholesterol levels in hypercholesterolemia clients. Method: This type of research is a quasi-experimental study with pre-post test control group design. The population study was a client with hypercholesterolemia in the working area of menganti health centers. First sample group consisted of nine respondents received the drug Simvastatin 10 mg and rosella tea consumed as much as 2 g 1x / day. The second group consisted of nine respondents received the drug Simvastatin 10 mg and avocado meat weighing 330 grams were consumed 1x / day. The control group consisted of 11 respondents have a drug Simvastatin 10 mg oral 1x daily at night before bed. All groups examined total cholesterol levels before treatment and after treatment on day 15. Result: The results of one-way ANOVA test showed a significant difference between before and after treatment in the first group (p=0,001) and second group (p= 0,005), and there is no significant difference before and after treatment in the control group (p= 0,248). The difference between the three groups showed p= 0.025. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is giving rosella tea and avocado has the same effectiveness in lowering total cholesterol levels so that health workers can suggest the use of rosella tea and avocado as a companion therapy to reduce total cholesterol level.

Introduction: Increasing age in pre-senile, causes a deterioration abilities and physical changes, including the cardiovascular system. Blood vessels lose their elasticity thus be increased peripheral vascular resistance that results in hypertension. This study aims to gain an idea of the effect on the ability of pre-senile people’s psychoeducation in the management of hypertension. Method: Quasi-experimental, the pre-post test with control group design, psychoeducation intervention with a sample size of 72 people . Result: The results showed signifi cant difference of pre-aged knowledge and behavior before and after getting psychoeducation intervention in the intervention group (p-value = 0.000 knowledge, and behaviors = 0.000) . Whereas in the control group there was no difference in knowledge (p-value = 0.896), but there are signifi cant differences in behavior of pre-senile people (p-value = 0.049). There are differences in knowledge and behavior after they were given psychoeducation intervention (post-test ) in the intervention group and the control group (p-value = 0.001 knowledge , behavior=0.018). Discussion: Psychoeducation had effect on the ability of pre-senile in the management of hypertension, so this program can be applied to groups of Posbindu for pre-senile people throughout the areas of the city of Bogor.Key words: psychoeducation, skills, pre-senile, hypertension

<p><em>The study was aimed to analyze the effect of nutritional education on attitude changes and increased of macronutrients and water intake in scout teenagers. The study was quasi-experimental with pre- and post-test control group design. The treatment group was given nutritional education four times during one month. Pre-test was conducted a week before intervention and post-test was conducted a week after intervention. Subjects were all members of Saka Bhayangkara and Saka Wira Kartika Scout. The result showed that nutritional education was significant improved median value of attitude score and increased (p &lt;0,05). macronutrients intake in treatment group. The average of macronutrients intake in treatment group, before and after intervention were 1137,8±178,7 Kcal and 1490,4± 206,6 Kcal/day for energy; 40,4 ± 9,8 g/day and 60,8 ± 9,3g/day for protein; 38,5 ± 12,6 g/day and 59,3 ± 9,4 g/day for fat; 155,6 ± 29,5 g/day and 177,6 ± 33,5 g/day for carbohydrates; 782,4±347,7 mL and 834,6±383,2 mL for water. Nutritional education improved nutrition attitudes and increased macro-nutrient intake among scout.</em></p>

Breastmilk is the only perfect and best food for babies because it contains the nutritional elements needed by babies for optimal growth and development. Although the rate of exclusive breastfeeding in the Pringsewu Regency has increased from year to year, support for community participation and empowerment in health development has not been optimal. One solution that can help overcome barriers to exclusive breastfeeding is hypnobreastfeeding. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of hypnobreastfeeding on the motivation of breastfeeding in the Pringsewu Regency in 2019. This research is a quasi-experimental research with pre-post-test design with a control group design. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with a sample size of 48 pregnant women from term to breastfeeding. Data analysis was done by using the Independent Two Mean Difference test (T-Test) using the Paired Sample Test. The results of the study on the Paired Sample Test showed a significant value (p) of 0.004, meaning that there was a significant difference in the motivation of breastfeeding before and after hypnobreastfeeding. Midwives always provide hypnobreastfeeding therapy and lactation education to help increase motivation for breastfeeding as part of efforts to increase exclusive breastfeeding and breastfeeding for up to 2 years or more. For other researchers, it is necessary to carry out further research with other variables that can affect the motivation of breastfeeding.

Senam  rematik  merupakan  salah  satu  metode  yang  praktis  dan efektif  dalam  memelihara  kesehatan  tubuh.Gerakan  yang  terkandung  dalam senam rematik  adalah gerakan yang sangat efektif, efisien, dan logis karena rangkaian  gerakannya dilakukan secara teratur dan terorganisasi bagi penderita rematik (Wahyudi Nugroho,2008). senam rematik berkhasiat untuk menurunkan nyeri osteoatritis lutut dan peningkatan rentang gerak pada penderita osteoatritis. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh sebelum dan sesudah diberikan senam rematik pada lansia di balai pelayanan sosial cepiring. Penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian quasi experimental yang bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan hubungan sebab akibat antara variabel tanpa ada manipulasi suatu variabel (Sugiono, 2010). Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan pretest-posttest control group design. Pengukuran desain ini dilakukan sebanyak dua kali yaitu sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Ada hubungan antara pemberian terapi senam rematik terhadap penurunan nyeri osteoatritis lutut lansia dimana dari hasil uji Mann-Whitney Test diperoleh p = 0.002 (skala nyeri)yang artinya ada hubungan yang signifikan.   Kata kunci: senam rematik, gerontik, ilmu keperawatan EFFECTS OF REMATIC GYM TOWARDS REDUCTION OF PAIN AND IMPROVEMENT OF MOVEMENT FLIGHT IN ELDERLY WITH OSTEOATRITIS   ABSTRACT Rheumatic exercises are one of the practical and effective methods in maintaining a healthy body. The movements contained in rheumatic exercises are very effective, efficient, and logical movements because a series of movements is carried out regularly and organized for rheumatic sufferers (Wahyudi Nugroho, 2008) . rheumatic exercises are efficacious to reduce osteoatritis knee pain and increase range of motion in osteoatritis sufferers. The purpose of this study: to determine the effect before and after rheumatic exercises given to the elderly at the Cepiring social service center. Quantitative research with quasi experimental research design that aims to reveal the causal relationship between variables without manipulation of a variable (Sugiono, 2010). The design of this study used a pretest-posttest control group design. This design measurement is carried out twice, namely before and after the intervention. There is a relationship between rheumatism exercise therapy with pain reduction in elderly knee osteoatritis where the Mann-Whitney Test results obtained p = 0.002 (pain scale) which means there is a significant relationship.   Keywords: rheumatic gymnastics, gerontik, nursing
